Very friendly staff at check-in who were also there to check-out the next morning. Rooms are very clean and comfortable with everything you might need (including iron and ironing board!). The breakfast is excellent. Good choice of fruit, yoghurts, bread and hot dishes.

There isn't anywhere to get an evening meal but there is a fully stocked garage a short walk away.

Sealant in bathroom/shower needs re-doing, it's old and blackened.

We received a delightful welcome - reception and bar staff were warm, helpful and appeared to take a genuine interest in us.

The bed was small by most hotel standards these days (and we are not big people), and a little too soft for our liking. The shower and enclosure showed signs of age - missing valve control markings and the discoloured grout.

Pillows, uncomfortable and lumpy. Breakfast was truly awful, everything is cheap and nasty and tastes like cardboard!!!Yuk Cleaning team either don't have enough time to cover the territory they've been given or they don't know how to clean. Mega cobwebs in the breakfast area and for some unknown reason they have seats covered in material which consequently are covered in everyone's breakfast!!!! Truly disgusting and unhygienic. There's no pride in the place Shame,it could be outstanding and a modern marvel but instead it really isn't, but if I think about it I didn't have any expectations so I didn't receive any!!!

The staff were great. The breakfast was good and the rooms were nice and clean.

The beds were a little small for us, the children struggled in the sofa bed and there wasn't much space in the room. When we went down for breakfast the first morning we were later and some of the cooked food was not as good as it was when it would have first come out.

Took too long to check in as there was a shortage of staff. The staff member Matthew apologised and said a staff member had phoned in sick. Whilst I accept this can happen, there should be a procedure to get more staff at short notice.

Breakfast was limited with no Vegan options and very few vegetarian options. They stop serving food at 9pm Very difficult to find somewhere to eat after 9pm unless you drive into town center which is 10 - 15 minutes away.

The unorganisation of trying to check in, we booked as a party of 6 with 3 rooms yet all of our rooms were scattered across the hotel, they also struggled to find our booking for 2 of the rooms and one room had been swapped to a double despite booking 3 twin rooms. This was rectified and we were moved rooms. One of our rooms was also an interconnected room so we were struggled to understand why the other connecting room wasn’t issued to us, it would have made a lot more sense.

Lucy and Vicky we’re very welcoming and so helpful throughout our stay that I wanted to leave this review just to acknowledge their amazing customer focus and hospitality

The hotel was lovely and the staff were friendly and very helpful, I came here worh my 2 children and husband and they made everyone of us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

The breakfast was very poor! Food was dried and cold, rubbery bacon and we didn’t eat hardly any of it. A real let down.

The breakfast was the same everyday. It was ok but there were flies and fruit flies around the breakfast area.

There were always huge flies buzzing around the breakfast area when the door was opened in the afternoon. I tried to complain to the staff but they waved it away like the flies were constant companions and they were just doing their thing. It made me quite uncomfortable. There was also a permanent stench of urine in the bathroom. Housekeeping came everyday but the smell was always there. It made the room quite uncomfortable for me. So it was a relief for me when I checked out.

Booked last minute with our dog to visit friends for the weekend. Was in a great location, staff were friendly, rooms were clean, only downside was they put us in a twin as they had no double rooms left, not the end of the world though.

Spacious room, quiet, breakfast was OK

The staff was not professional at all - both their behaviour and looks. Staff wearing untucked shirts, flipflops, slippers.. There was a guy at reception who sat while we talked to him and chewed gum with his mouth open. When I needed to check-out, he let me wait at reception desk 5 minutes, even he noticed me and he turned around and did his inventory of alcohol bottles. I said “hello?” once, he didnt even answer. I said hello for the second time and he said “one minute”, turned his back - then I said the Uber is waiting and we need to check out. So he came, again chewing gum loudly.. did not even ask if everything was OK.I did not like the approach at all and would not stay in this hotel again.

Staid overnight here, very good hotel, beds very comfy with usual holiday inn extras. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to the day team reception team and the very nice lady at breakfast.

As Holiday Inn's go, this is on of the best. Very comfortable room. Light and airy even in 30+ degree temperature outside. Clean and modern. Friendly team and the breakfast was exceptionally good.

Tables at breakfast needed to be cleared a little quicker. The person clearing the tables needed to be smarter as it let the team down with his shirt half tucked in and half out. The bottom of the breakfast bar needs a very good clean! Just because it's at the bottom doesnt mean it can't be seen!

Welcoming staff, condition of room was very clean and well set-up, breakfast/meals area spacious.

Perfect for my overnight stay

Nice size room, comfy bed, bathroom with strong shower. Air conditioning which was necessary during the heatwave. Shampoo and Conditioner provided. Wall mounted television. View from the window opens onto an industrial park with offices and a car park but nothing noisy it looked pretty empty most of the time. Breakfast had the usual full english with continental choices. Comfy swivel chair paired to a desk for those who might want to work on a laptop or write letters. Free parking seemed to have ample spaces, i had no problems.

The apples for breakfast could do with a decent upgrade. green, small, hard, and unappealing visually. I've seen better in most hotels. The hotel restaurant doesn't open until 5pm, so for early arrivals one has to wait for a bite to eat.

The only draw back, which wasn’t their fault was lady next door was making loud noises until 1am. I was stressed and have Autism . Hotel staff would have moved me but I was settled in had my medication I couldn’t face it.

Really clean, modern and comfortable. During the heatwave it was fantastic to have air conditioning. Also a great pub called The Star in Geddington just over a mile away, well worth a visit.

Breakfast was terrible. Everything had run out and was not replenished until we asked. No cutlery and tables were not cleared by staff in the whole time we were at breakfast. Upon check in it would have been nice if the receptionist smiled and made us feel welcome!

I did try to make changes to my booking so instead of my booked room for 3 people, I wanted to change the room to 2 people and add a room for 1. I emailed and they said if I called they could sort, but then on the phone I was told I couldn’t change, only add, which I did, but it made it an expensive trip. Therefore I won’t use booking.com for HIE again.

We arrived at the hotel to be told they were full and there wasn’t a room for us. They did arrange alternative accommodation at their ‘sister’ hotel and although it was a much better quality hotel it did mean we had to travel an extra 7 miles out of our way to stay at this hotel and no apology or acceptance of blame was offered. I will never book to stay there again.

The staff took payment from me twice. I booked through booking.com and paid there, then I was charged again at the hotel. The receptionist asked me to pay, and I told her I had already paid on Booking.com. When I asked for a refund, she said she would process it, but I’m still waiting. She is at reception and seems busy, but I believe resolving this issue should be a priority. I don’t understand their system.

The reception area was spacious, no problems checking in. The corridor was light and airy and the room had a big, east facing window. I enjoyed breakfast and slept well. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
