Reviewed Aug 12, 2026Rod greeted us with genuine kindness and made us feel instantly valued. Being upgraded to an even more stunning, spacious apartment exceeded our expectations. The apartment feature high-end, modern utensils and cosy styling. The property offers total quietness and a very secure, safe environment. A true lookout vantage point providing breathtaking, sweeping scenery over the town up to the sea. It is not only the apartment that is great, even the yard. This was our second visit and will be our second home when visiting Port Alfred. I can't wait for the next visit, time and funds permitting!

Place is close to everything, especially all the activities that we were planning to do. Host gave us a list with all activities available around the area that was exceptional, it really made things easier for us.
There was a cat that kept entering our apartment and that made it difficult for us to open windows and doors. Host forgot to warn us that the area is full of mosquitos, we couldn't sleep on day 1 as there were too many mosquitos in the room we had to wake up around 1 am and spray doom on the whole apartment. Following days we made sure that we close windows early and we slept peacefully on the other nights.

There is also a really nice common area where you could have an amazing view of Port Alfred. The hostess, Angela, was very kind to us and provided lots of recommendations for things to do. Everything was around 5 minutes by car, so we enjoyed the location as well!

Reviewed Jun 24, 2025Although there are beautiful homes in the suburb there are also homes that probably need to be flattened. This is one of the beautiful homes with amazing views and all the facilities that you can wish for. Although self catering, the host supplied us with delicious rusks which were topped up continuously. We were also able to order breakfast in our unit which were delicious and very convenient. Our hosts made sure that we were settled and comfortable.
Port Alfred roads really need fixing and the tap water is quite brown. Fortunately we were supplied with bottled water as well as safe drinking water.

Just a recommendation to put darker curtains in the room as room was bright at night for someone who is very light sensitive.

We're very sad we didn't order for the second day. We missed the order cut-off. The view was just what the doctor ordered Thank you to Angela and her staff. So sad we have to leave. We'll be back.

I just feel that it should already be stated at booking, especially when booking online, that breakfast is not included [if booking online that is]. Making it an extra charge makes one to pay slightly more. If this is sorted out, Lookout is the best place to go to.

The neighbour's adorable cat came to visit and demanded a lot of attention, we gladly obliged. Everything you need is provided in the unit. We did not order any breakfast, but the menu looks delicious. We love the patio and of course the seaview.
