Tradition Julen Hotel

Outstanding hotel in a great location. Our room was large and spotlessly clean. Lots of little touches like fruit in the room etc. Breakfast was great. The spa was outstanding and all staff were incredibly helpful. 10/10 all round.

Loved location and available amenities

Most of the staff were unwelcoming, impatient and lacked helpful attitudes. The staff that were helpful stood out. Front desk first impression of feeling welcome - utter failure.

A wonderful hotel with a perfect location—right in the town center and a 10-minute walk from the train station. It features a gym, a beautiful pool with jets, a sauna, and a quiet relaxation room stocked with books and a coffee machine. These facilities are all located on the same floor, away from the entrance and the restaurant, and are accessible via an elevator. The room is clean and charming, with a mountain-cabin feel and wood-paneled interiors. The bathroom is spotless clean,  equipped with soft towels, a bathrobe, and all necessary toiletries; the toilet features a remote-controlled bidet system. I loved the stunning bathroom door handle. Amenities include a wardrobe with a safe, a coffee machine, air conditioning, and a TV with English-language channels offering more than just news channels. That was great. There is also a nice small balcony for enjoying the fresh air; in the single room, the balcony faces a side street. I really appreciated the sensor-activated floor-level lighting in both the room and the bathroom—an excellent feature for navigating the room in the dark

1. The room isn't soundproofed against noise from the hallway, other rooms, or the street. However, with earplugs and the window closed, I slept very well. 2. It would have been perfect if the pool water temperature had been slightly higher, the water was a bit cold. 3. I found it strange that I checked in at 5:00 PM to a clean, tidy room, but when I stepped out for about an hour at 7:00 PM, I returned to find that someone had been in the room—folding the towels and hanging up the bathrobe. They even left a chocolate on my pillow. I didn't understand the need to tidy the room just two hours after check-in. I hadn't expected anyone to enter at that time, and it left me with an uncomfortable feeling

プール、サウナを利用したりカフェバーも使えたり、リラックスして過ごすにはとてもいい施設でした。チェックアウトしたくなかったです。 スタッフがとにかく優しいのと、きめ細かなサービスが印象的です。駅とホテルの送迎が速やかです。朝晩のご飯が美味しくて驚きました。細部まで行き届いています！

夕食時にドリンクも含まれていたらよかったと思いました。水回りはすごく清潔感があるのですが、バスタブがあると嬉しいなと思いました。

המלון במיקום מושלם. הצוות אדיב וסבלני ועוזר בכל שאלה. למלון יש שאטל שאוסף מהרכבת ומסיע לרכבת, כי צרמט היא עיירה ללא מכוניות. יש במלון מסעדות מצויינות. ערב אחד אכלנו ארוחת טעימות של 5 מנות, כאשר אורחי המלון מקבלים הנחה יפה. הבריכה יפה ונעימה, יש חדר קריאה וחדר רגיעה. בשעה 16:00 מקבלים פינוק של הפסקת תה. השהייה במלון היתה חוויה מושלמת. יש הרגשה שחושבים על טובת האורחים כל הזמן. בונוס גדול הוא ארוחת הבוקר הנהדרת שכוללת אוכל מגוון וטעים.

Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing.

Trying to get drinks or book for dinner was a very poor experience. Staff all 'having a break' and ignored us. So went to a lovely Italian down the road.

A very cosy room with a peak of the Matterhorn from the small balcony. Tea & coffee supplied and also a small free mini bar with beers, soft drink & water. A very comfy bed and great shower. Individual room air-conditioning. Fabulous breakfast. An easy walk uphill from train station

３度目の利用で、内装などが大幅にリニューアルされ、木材（カラマツ）がふんだんに利用されており、木の香りが心地よい。７年前の利用時に既に水の洗浄装置付きトイレになっているのは、日本人にはありがたい。朝食、夕食ともに満足できる内容だった。マッターホルン の見える眺望も楽しみです。また、たまたま最上階の部屋だったので天窓があり、星空を見ながら眠りについた。いつも利用している部屋ではなかったが、新しい楽しみを体験できた。

We loved the Julen Hotel in Zermatt- our favorite place of the whole Swiss vacation. Our family suite was amazing- plenty of room for a family of four. The A/C was a treat, minibar fridge, and lovely furnishings. Having two bathrooms was also very nice. The front desk staff was very helpful and kind to us and the breakfast was amazing. I did have a massage which was very relaxing and the spa/pool was also very clean and a fun treat to use. We enjoyed ourselves very much- Thank you and we'd highly recommend to anyone. :)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff, the service, the facilities, and the location were amazing. The onsite breakfast, the restaurant, pool, sauna were all 5 star!!!!

The breakfast buffet and dinner menu were outstanding. But, the staff was over the top! We felt like we were leaving family after our 3 night stay. Our breakfast servers were so helpful with our 1 year old grandson. The view of the Matterhorn from our room was amazing, and the spa was great.

Location, room view and facilities are very good. We can see Matterhorn in our room. The breakfast is delicious with many choices. The restaurant staff is nice and great, she can remember what we have ordered in day 1 and ask whether we would repeat them in day 2.

Outstanding attention to detail - perfect design and decor for location. Extremely clean. Breakfast was excellent each of the four days we were there. Owner was very gracious, kind and outgoing as was the housekeeping staff. Spa was very well designed and great attention to detail was seen here as well.

Sehr feines Frühstück. Gute Atmosphäre im Haus. Ruhig. Sehr Sauber. Sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung mit klarer Linie (schwarznasen Schafe) Rezeption ist sehr hilfsbereit. Wellnessbereich sehr schön und auch am Abreisetag zugänglich. Danke!

Der Nacktbereich des Wellnessbereich dürfte noch etwas diskreter sein. Das Reinigungsmittel für die Bodenreinigung hinterlässt einen Restduft, der stördend empfunden werden kann.

Really nice typical Alpen hotel , well placed near the centre of Zermatt . Staff very friendly and helpful , especially Paul who advised on local hikes , attractions , etc . Room very comfortable with view of Matterhorn . Leisure centre just done up with great facilities . Ate from Al a Carte menu which was excellent . Would definitely come back .

The breakfast staff are so delightful and we loved the excursion to see the famous sheep on the hote's farm!

The coffee is the morning needs work! It wasn't made clear that the farm excursion was not free for hotel guests -- still worth it, but should have been disclosed.

We loved the location, only a ten minute walk to all three points to access the ski slopes. Close walk to the Main Street where all the shops and restaurants are.

The pool was beautiful but needed to be a little warmer!

Not much to add that hasn’t already been said. Was like stepping into another world. Stayed 5-days, no ski-ing. Hotel met all my expectations. Took the half-board option, 5-course dinner menu was impeccable; can dine any time between 6 & 9pm, don’t have to give them a specific time, which i LOVED!! Had the Superior comfort room i think it was called, for the extra living area…didnt bother with Matterhorn view room (can see it everywhere you walk in town). Didnt use the pool or spa. Papperla bar across the street looks plain but it is a lot of fun!!

Great facilities and great breakfast. The staff were exceptional and very accommodating. The location is also walking distance yo the city center.

I'm so glad we stayed at the Hotel Julen for my special birthday ski trip! Zermatt has always been on my bucket list and the Hotel Julen really delivered a wonderful experience. They even brought a beautiful chocolate cake to our room for my birthday which was such a nice surprise! The rooms were spotless, comfortable and perfectly located. We loved the pine paneling and the cozy cabin vibe of the interior design. Our rooms had plenty of storage and all of the modern amenities. We really enjoyed the delicious breakfasts and could order pancakes or other items with no trouble. The staff were always courteous and made us feel right at home. The central location is perfect. The bus stop is just a short walk away and Fuchs bakery is next door as well as the popular Papperla bar. Everything is very close and easy to walk to. We really felt like it was the perfect spot for us to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area. The ski locker room was very handy and had an automatic door which led right out to the street level. The lockers themselves had boot heaters which made putting on those boots in the morning that much easier. We will definitely be back!

First up - A huge thank you to the amazing family and staff that make this Hotel so incredibly special. This is such a perfect place to stay. Our Matterhorn view room was beautiful, warm, luxurious, and the housekeeping wonderful. Location great - short walk to free shuttle bus to all areas of the mountain. The Hotel has one of the best pools and spa areas we have seen. It was perfect to end every days skiing with a visit to this area. We took half board and so glad we did. The breakfast buffet was extensive and the dinners were absolutely delicious with many choices. We cannot thank the staff enough for making us so welcome. Particular thanks to Bruno, Vera and the breakfast team, Duc, and to the fabulous Marco and Marion at dinner.

L'emplacement bien situé à Zermatt. Les 2 restaurants, traditionnel (bravo pour la raclette conçue dans le Valais). Confort des chambres et de la literie. L'ambiance conviviale. L'anniversaire surprise !!! Surtout l'accueil et l'accompagnement d'Alizée. Merci de la féliciter de notre part. Le prêt de l'ordi par le gérant pour visionner une vidéo personnelle. Donc, beaucoup de choses positives.

La météo, mais vous n'y êtes pour rien.

Very comfortable room and bed, with amazing views. Ski locker area was well-equipped, with coffee and waters. Cozy reception area with fireplace. Spa was really refurbished and super relaxing. We loved the polar plunge option! Location was just perfect - super close to the main town, yet a little away from the very center. Also make sure to try their restaurant - Schaferstube - it is our favorite restaurant in Zermatt town!

As expected from an older hotel, the rooms vary with the category. We were initially given a corner room, which felt boxy and smaller than expected. I therefore asked to change and reception immediately fulfilled my request. Breakfast was standard and coffee wasnt great.

We just ended a trip to Julen for the 20th year - many times more than once each year. The place in fantastic - ownership and staff - food and the hotel ambience - second to none and yet again, we thank you very much. I cant say any more because there is not room here to do so - its just fabulous so please go and enjoy all of it and have a great time. Thanks to everyone Simon and Tracey - Durham City UK

Location is great but the Alpenhof hotel is better located A bit loud in the evening from the apre ski parties across the street but nothing crazy, they stop early

Great traditional place. Nice staff, cosy atmosphere. And great rooms foreseen of coffee, fruit, and other nice extras. Great you can opt for fondue evening in HP.

Welness area is wonderfull, but bit cramped (understandable given history of the building).

I visited this hotel for the second time recently with a friend. I must say it was better now than it was the last time. It was pretty much a flawless visit. As long as your book directly with them you can rent an e-bike for free, the half board or breakfast rates are pretty reasonable. We stayed there two nights and it really felt like being at home. The hotel is quite quaint and woodsy. Like a big cabin. The rooms are very similar to that too and quite advanced with the technology they use including the bidet. We had the half board and the meals were fantastic. We had a couple dinners there five courses and all of them were delicious. The breakfast also included omelets or Fridays or whatever you actually wanted. Also had a machine that squeezed oranges freshly for orange juice. They have a veried friendly staff from all over Europe. If I ever came back to zermat again I would surely try to stay here again. It was very enjoyable.
