Trogon House and Forest Spa

Loved how friendly the staff was. I needed to work and the reception area was warm and cosy with a fireplace. It felt like home. Dinner was great. Just awesome view. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The whole ambiance of a forest was stunning. It was brilliant showering and still being immersed in the forest vibes. I requested for non alcoholic wine as part of the celebratory package and they had that ready in the room. Thank you for a lovely stay.

I think it was a lot more expensive than what some excellent 4 star or 5 star places cost. The spa was ridiculously expensive. Nearly R6000 for a couple for 3 or 4 hours. That's Europe prices for South African. I wished that the jacuzzi could have been open to the guest as part of the hotel facilities. The WiFi in the rooms were very weak. Therefore I had to go and work in the reception lounge.

Das Frühstück war mager für ein Mitteleuropäer. Für einen Besuch im Frühling nicht geeignet. Es ist nicht beheizt. Es zieht durch allen Ritzen. Das Wasser läuft extrem schlecht weg. Duschen ein Erlebnis bei 13 Grad im Zimmer. Es ist alles renovierungsbedürftig. Die Zufahrt eine Zumutung. Vor allem wenn es geregnet hat.

The road around Monkeyland to get to the property isn’t nice.

Eine wunderschöne Aussicht von der Hauptterrasse. Das gebuchte Abendessen war das beste auf unserer ganzen Reise und das Personal ist unfassbar aufmerksam und freundlich!

Wir waren etwas irritiert von dem Weg zur Unterkunft und dem Parkplatz. Den könnte man etwas freundlicher gestalten. Ansonsten war es wirklich mal was anderes und super.

The location is mind blowing, from your completely private honeymoon suite you hear monkeys and birds and you are immersed into the most beautiful forest. The Spa is a must do, the therapists are kind and knowledgeable and it’s the actual highlight of the whole experience

Dinner is a bit disappointing, it’s our second time visiting this premises in the last two years and the very simple menu hasn’t changed since, there’s definitely room for improvement there.

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft und Lage. Tolles Sicht in den Wald durch die Glaswände. Kaminofen in der Honeymoon Suite.

Kein warmes Wasser. Nur für ein paar Sekunden. Dadurch war die Badewanne für uns unbrauchbar, auf die wir uns gefreut hatten. Wurde am Abend behoben, allerdings hatten wir keine Zeit mehr es zu nutzen bzw. Zu testen. Das Essen war verhältnismäßig teuer und geschmacklich in Ordnung.

Notre coup de cœur du séjour ! Un lieu intimiste , la décoration Africaine est superbe, on s’y sent bien , le repas du soir était très bon bien qu’un peu frugal pour nous qui sommes de gros mangeurs . Literie super

Fabulous forest location with large deck & great views. They also offered pre-booked dinner which was excellent and very good value for money.

Pool was freezing cold so beautiful but not really usable

The location was wonderful and very relaxing. The staff very attentive and the food whilst limited was very good.

It was very cold at night and no air conditioning/heating in the lodge. There were electric blankets on the bed which we made use of.

Nous avons tout aimé : le cadre paradisiaque, l'architecture et la décoration des bâtiments, l'accueil attentionné de Wonderful, la vue incroyable depuis la chambre et la salle de bain, le spa privatif avec cheminée, le plateau du dîner et le petit déjeuner....tout était absolument parfait.

Aussergewöhnlich. Nettes gut gelauntes Personal. Sehr ruhige Lage, etwas abseits. Beim Frühstück mit Affengeräuschen wegen des Affenparks fast nebenan.

Fijn verblijf in een prachtige lodge midden in het bos. Super uitzicht vanaf de gezamelijke ruimte en kamer. Lekker 3-gangen diner beschikbaar. Hele goede massage gehad in de spa!

Het ligt midden in het bos dus houdt rekening met eventuele insecten zoals spinnen die de kamer in kunnen komen.

Wine selection @ dinner was very limited. No mini bar in the room, this would have been nice to relax on our private balcony and enjoy a glass of wine or beer. The restaurant ran out of orange juice @ breakfast. (Breakfast is included in your stay so should be stocked on breakfast items) Wifi is basically non-existent.

Magischer Ort, ganz besondere Lage. Ganz besonders liebes Personal. Sehr exklusiv. Natures Valley nicht weit entfernt. Man muss sich bewusst sein, dass es feste Essenszeiten gibt (8 Uhr und 19 Uhr). Davor und danach ist es nicht machbar, das Essen wird pünktlich serviert, kein Buffet.

Die Straße ist sehr anstrengend zum Fahren. Abendessen war an einem Abend aufgewärmt, nicht frisch gekocht.

Location suggestiva, immersa nel verde. Anche la piscina offre di una bella visuale. La colazione e la cena molto romantiche con vista sul verde. Staff gentile.

La moquette rovina un po l’atmosfera, dando un po un senso di sporco. Ovviamente si è in mezzo alla natura quindi possono esserci insetti.

Trogon House ist ein spezielles Hotel in urwaldähnlicher Umgebung. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und wir würden es wieder buchen. Trotz der rustikalen Umgebung bietet es viel Komfort. Das Essen war sehr gut, wichtig, weil es wegen der abgeschiedenen Lage kaum eine Alternative gibt.

Es gab keinen Minitresor im Raum. Wir möchten nichts unterstellen, möchten aber Reisende bitten, ihre Valutas sicher zu verwahren, damit kein falscher Verdacht aufkommen kann.

Wonderful hide away in the tree tops of the jungle! Carol, Wonderful and the whole team were extremely welcoming and friendly. We felt very much home in this tree house. Honestly a cool stay on the green during a garden route trip.

Ausgefallene Lage, sehr exquisit!! Menü am Abend war sehr kreativ und sehr gut. Monkeyland und BIrds of Eden in der Nähe lohnen auf jeden Fall einen Besuch.

We had a fabulous stay. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The setting, the views, the dinner and the breakfast were wonderful. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Einfach nur ein Traum! Die Unterkunft hat nur 4 Zimmer, der Speise- und Poolbereich ist einfach unbeschreiblich schön. Wir hatten Room Nr. 3 mit Blick in der "Urwald"-traumhaft. Für alle die Ruhe und Entspannung in stilvoller Umgebung suchen genau das Richtige! Leider waren wir nur eine Nacht da-das nächste Mal bleiben wir länger!!

Die Zufahrt ist etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig

Ganz ausgefallene Unterkunft, mitten im Wald. Einem sollte bewusst sein, dass die Fahrt dorthin schon abenteuerlich ist - abends im Dunkeln würde ich dort nicht fahren wollen. Wir hatten für den Abend das Menue gebucht und das hat sich auch absolut gelohnt. Wir saßen, obwohl es nicht mehr so warm war, draußen auf der Terrasse unter dem Sternenhimmel mit 6 anderen Gästen. Alles sehr idyllisch. Leider hat es in der Nacht angefangen zu regnen und es war ganz schön kalt in unserem Zimmer. Allerdings waren die Betten herrlich bequem und die Decke auch schön dick. Das Frühstück mussten wir dann wegen des Regens drinnen einnehmen, war aber auch super.

Das Frühstück war sehr gut.Eine außergewöhnlich Erfahrung mitten im Wald. Die Massage war sehr gut und die Entspannung war vollkommen gelungen.

Stunning hotel - our room was gorgeous- well thought out huge windows looking out at the forest. Felt very special. Linen on the beds is gorgeous. The public area is beautiful with the pool overlooking the forest. The decor, and furnishings are lovely. Really this is a gorgeous hotel. The staff were all very kind and helpful and could not do enough for us - I highly recommend this hotel.

Where do I start...everything...escape into the wilderness and one with nature

Lieu un peu insolite car on se retrouve perdu dans les arbres. Le chemin pour atteindre de l'hôtel est un peu caché par rapport au Monkeyland et ressemble plus à de la piste. L'hôtel en lui même est splendide, maximum 5 chambres, moyen de faire un spa et un massage (bien le prévoir à l'avance). L'équipe est très gentil et serviable. Une sensation de bien-être vous envahit quand vous êtes sur la terrasse à juste regarder les arbres, le ciel et écouter les bruits de la nature.

Bella la posizione in mezzo alla foresta. La terrazza con piscina sopraelevata dove rilassarsi, fare colazione e cenare - quando il tempo lo permette - è davvero spettacolare. Suggestive le vetrate che nella camera e nel bagno danno l'impressione di un contatto diretto con la natura circostante (di contro la mattina la stanza è inondata di luce). Personale molto gentile. Ottima la colazione. Molto vicino al Mokey Word, Eden of Birds e sll'Elephsnts Sanctuary.

La strada per arrivarci non è proprio agevole nel manovrare nel parcheggio abbiamo danneggiato l'auto contro un albero. Per me quasi obbligato cenare all'interno della struttura.

Ein Hotel mitten im Wald und umgeben von Bäumen ist schon ein besonderes Erlebnis. Die Lage ist phänomenal, die Anfahrt auf einer schmalen Schotterstrasse ein Abenteuer und der Ausblick von der Poolterrasse atemberaubend.schön. Auch das Personal ist "super super" und versucht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen. Es gibt auch einen Spa-Bereich mit einer Sauna im Wald. Wir würden das Hotel sofort wieder buchen. Vielen Dank für den tollen Aufenthalt und liebe Grüße aus Deutschland.

Wer das Abendessen vor Ort wählt hat keine große Auswahl. Der Koch bietet meist nur 2 verschiedene Gerichte zur Auswahl an. Das Essen selbst ist dann aber auch sehr lecker.

Wat een heerlijke plek! We zijn 3 dagen in Trogon House geweest. Magische sfeer zo hoog tussen de bomen! We hebben genoten van de halve dag Spa, uitstekende massage en op en top verwennerij. Iedereen is erg gastvrij en behulpzaam. En lekker gegeten! Aanrader 🤗

Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte die wir je hatten. Wunderbare Lage und Zimmer, sehr nettes Personal, man kommt bei dieser Unterkunft nicht aus dem Staunen raus. Liebevolle und geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Abendessen in einer kuscheligen Atmosphäre mit Kaminfeuer. Bei Anfahrt ist zu beachten, dass man die rechte Einfahrt nimmt und dann ca. 1 km am Gehege entlang auf einer etwas holprigen Straße fährt. Am Ziel angekommen, stellst du dein Auto in eine Parklücke und geht über einen Holzsteg Richtung Rezeption. Natur pur..... Leider war unser Aufenthalt zu kurz.

Das Trogon House ist wunderschön inmitten des Waldes gelegen. Aufgrund unserer Flitterwochen bekamen wir ein kostenloses Upgrade in die Honeymoon Suite. Dort wurde alles sehr schön dekoriert und der Kamin angezündet. Es war unbeschreiblich schön mitten in der Natur zu schlafen und dem Wald und den Tieren zu lauschen. Der Service war außergewöhnlich freundlich und unser 3-Gänge-Menü am Abend lecker. Ein Highlight war das Frühstück auf der Terrasse bei blauem Himmel und Sonnenschein. Von unseren Nachbarn haben wir erfahren, dass die Massagen ebenfalls super sein sollen. Wir haben diese nicht in Anspruch genommen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

-Die Anfahrt entlang des Monkeylands zur Unterkunft ist etwas holprig, da die Straßen nicht befestigt sind. Aber es hat alles geklappt. - Man sollte wissen, dass die Toilette nicht durch eine Tür oder einen separaten Raum vom Zimmer getrennt ist (hier muss man sich also etwas absprechen 😃) - da das Zimmer nicht abgedunkelt werden kann, ist es früh hell (uns persönlich hat dies nicht gestört)

The scenery, tranquility and ambience is out of this world- this place is a gem. Oh the guy called "Wonderful" made our anniversary the most memorable we ever had. His warm reception made us forget about the gravel road we drove in, let alone his diligence, care and attentiveness to detail. He gave us way more than 100% service. We wish we could find him there when we come back next year. The breakfast was excellent, loved the options. And the Spa was incredible ❤️‍🔥.

Wifi was unstable. We wish we stayed longer though.
