It felt like home over looking the forest. It has a fire place.
It was a bit cold and the location is a bit isolated you have to come with a car.
Deborah and the team at Good Earth Farm let us leave our luggage in the hallway before check-in. From the entrance and the photos, we suspected something big, but by far not what we later discovered. It was gradually getting dark and cold when we arrived. At first, we were surprised by the variety and size of the rooms in the house, featuring two en-suite double bedrooms on the ground floor and another two upstairs, plus a kitchen, living and dining room, and outdoor areas with balconies, terraces, and an illuminated pool. The house "interlocks" with the surrounding forest. First, we were welcomed by the large gas heater and a fully equipped kitchen—tastefully furnished like everything else in the house. We gradually discovered the many utility rooms and details, the skylights, and small windows in every necessary spot. In this wonderful and quiet place we had the short chance to feel nearer to our only and good earth. After waking up before sunrise to record it I got myself immersed in some of the books in the house, like the one about the unusual life of Dan Sheldon. Normally, with the books in a rented house, you notice they are just lying around completely homeless and valueless, but in this house, they belong just like every piece of furniture, piece of art, vase, plant, rug, or kitchen tool. We used the big old mortar to grind coffee beans In the middle of our second night, I got up and experienced one of the most beautiful and clearest starry skies I have seen since my childhood. The rustling of the trees and the sounds of the forest in the cold wind of our first evening of arrival turned into a mild, warm morning breeze upon our departure. Two staff members of the farm said a friendly goodbye to us, like everyone here. We followed Deborah’s recommendation and visited Nature's Valley and the Blue Rocks Cafe. Thank you Deborah, thank you all for this experience.
We were very pleasantly surprised by the villa. It really was stunning
We just had some trouble with the hot water but the staff were very helpful and friendly in sorting it out
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The house is absolutely beautiful and they go above and beyond with everything.
There was nothing to dislike.
The location, the views, the monkeys early in the morning. Friendly staff, fresh flowers in the vases. Large fireplace.
Staff coming to the pool in the early morning without any previous notification. Some fur particles on the pillows. No possibility to wash the laundry in the villa - washing machine at the end of its lifespan, the dryer not functional. No hairdryer in the whole villa. No possibility to use the bath tub, completely brown water coming quite soon. Having to read a long printed out paper in addition to lengthy WhatsApp instructions.
Beautiful home, comfortable beds, excellent host
Nothing
Exceptional villa with everything you could need. The view was incredible.
Nothing
It was my 70th birthday and I needed a beautiful, comfortable venue that could fit my me, my partner, my three daughters, their husbands, my six grandchildren ranging from 2 to 14 years old and their two dogs. The two Villas, nestled between a beautiful forest, overlooking a nature reserve with a mountain range as a sky outline view was perfect. The children played outside and in the pools non-stop. When it rained one evening they found the board games and we lit a fire, for a wonderful time in the lounge while one played the piano. There were tables for them to eat at, and tables for us to savour and enjoy our meals. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked with appliances. We never locked anything away and felt perfectly safe at the Villas always. Deborah’s staff are incredible. Friendly and kind and my word, they worked hard.
Careful if you are tall. Villa 1 has an oven extractor fan which juts out a bit - a few heads were knocked while cooking. The wine glasses are rather eclectic - I liked them but the wine fundis said I should suggest this.
Incredible, unique forest location with breathtaking views - the team are also all wonderful!
We had a fantastic stay at The Good Earth Farm celebrating a birthday with a group of friends. Villa 2 had everything we needed and the space was big enough to accommodate everyone. Lovely views all around. Highly recommended.
Prachtige locatie met stijlvolle inrichting! Rust en peace! Heerlijk
Niets
Beautiful house, very comfortably furnished and homely. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors - magical setting in a forest but just a few minutes off the garden route. Very good sized pool so I could swim lengths. Well equipped kitchen, good hot showers and quality linens.
Nothing it was perfect
Everything! The style, the surroundings, the feel of the place...
Can't think of much at all.
It was a real dream to stay in the beautiful cottage. It felt like home from the first moment! Super authentic, amazing details and with horses in the garden. We loved every aspect of it!!
Everything was amazing.
Ein traumhaft schönes Landhaus, dass stilvoll eingerichtet ist und zum durchatmen einlädt. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet mit Küchengeräten und Gewürzen.
True tranquility in a stunning setting. The cottage is so tastefully decorated and equipped in a sustainable way - inspirational. Deborah (host) was generous with local recommendations, attention to detail and personal messages.
Nothing
The cottage has a rustic charm and is well equipped, with a comfortable bed. We didn't meet the owner/manager but on site staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed at the villa for just two nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were friendly, the views stunning, and the kitchen well-equipped. We especially enjoyed the comfortable lounge with its fireplace. Shopping is convenient at the nearby Crags Superette, which also has a bakery offering delicious pies.
The good earth farm was amazing in every aspect, set so perfectly in nature and so well equipped for comfort and relaxation. Such a great place to spend with my family for a few days. I would highly recommend and I’ll be back as soon as I can.
We had villa II and it is really quite something. Surrounded by a lush Garden Route garden with a view out over the forested Crags, the vine clad verandah edged by a beautiful pool with a fire pit on a deck, the lounge area with floor to ceiling windows, a sprawling kitchen area ready for cooking a five course meal, and the huge bedrooms with lovely en suite bathrooms and walk in cupboards. The daily staff looked after us so well and it is conveniently located close to Plettenberg Bay while still being tucked away from the N2. And all of this in the middle of winter, we cannot wait to return in summer and enjoy this special place even more.
Nothing, honestly, this is a great place with no shortcomings.
We had a wonderful week staying in one of the villa’s. The home is beautifully decorated and spacious with everything you need. The views are breathtaking. Loved the outdoor fire pit and braai area. The house was cleaned daily and Deborah and her team were so helpful and accommodating. We had a great time. Definitely recommend.
Celebrated my 40th birthday in style at this beautiful villa. Communication with the host was marvelous, and she was super helpful in all aspects. the home was kitted out with everything we needed to have a wonderful, restful stay. We will definitely be back.
Fantastic setting, loved the gardens and the peace and quiet of nature. The cottage was unique and just perfect...attention to detail on everything...from the chairs, artwork, potplants, fresh flowers in each room... to the kitchen supplies to the extra comfy bed and soft bedding ! Debbie and her staff are very welcoming and always ready to help if needed.
We stayed to short!
Perfect getaway for familes
Exceeded my expectations
Great stay in nature- the host is really exceptional. All the little extras to make it feel comfortable.
This place is absolutely incredible... So homey, warm, cozy and just an absolute gem. Decorated beautifully, such a comfy warm bed, and the feel of the place really was incredible!!!
Loved the cottage
stayed in cottage. it's so cozy and homely. rustic but comfortable. Deborah has thought of just about everything! we'll be back.
everything was great. there are some mosquitos so come prepared.
Hidden gem in a peaceful and quiet setting. The attention to detail is exceptional and the host is so accommodating and friendly. The property is absolutely beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable beds. We will definitely visit again.
Set in a very quiet and lush location, the cottage was very special, made entirely of wood and glass (windows everywhere). Lots of effort was put into the decor, and Debbie was extremely generous helping us with whatever we needed. Despite being self catered, service was very good. Unfortunately it was only a base for visits into Tsitsikamma for us, wish we could have enjoyed the place longer.
The place is very isolated and romantic - perhaps I’d choose it to stay with my partner rather than with a friend next time! :D
the venue is perfect. Tranquil and got style
