Brilliant stay
Nothing it was all good
The staff was all awesome so helpful
The whole experience
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The sea view was very good from my room and the dining room..The food was excellent Elland and a good choice of dishes.
I love the location and the rooms with a sea view are excellent. The bar is a comfortable, relaxing area.
Dining room can be hot. My biggest moan is that the hotel is expensive. I paid £330 for 2 nights for a seaview room. I think it’s classed as a delux room. The bathroom was nicer than the normal rooms and the bed was larger but I don’t feel that it really fitted the cost for 2 nights.
Nice rooms great staff
My view
Great location.Beautiful view from the room looking over the beach.Room was very clean .Was very grateful for the fan in our room. The best thing about our stay was the exceptional staff .Everyone was helpful and friendly .Service was attentive and efficient .Leah was excellent at breakfast .Thank you .
Shower had very poor water pressure and took a while to heat up .
Receptionist Amy was very helpfull very accomodating helped us book again as we are coming back to stsy with you next week as we have a funeral to attend Also we are staying in December for a family gathering
overall great
Nice seafront location, friendly staff, lovely breakfast. Clean room.
Shower head wouldn’t stay still whilst showering
Fantastisch plekje aan de kust met een super ontbijt met uitzicht op zee verzorgd door het fijne team van Hotel Victoria.
As a surveyor covering the UK I have stopped in hundreds of Hotels/Guest Houses etc. This has to be one of the best overall stays I have had. I stayed in a single room, which had a double bed. Granted a little outdated but clean and very comfortable bed. Shower room had recently been refurbished. Staff were friendly and attentive. The icing on the cake was the breakfast. Full English with good ingredients was absolutely delicious and would set anyone up for the day, coupled with a lovely sea view. Exceptional Value for money Highly recommended from me.👌👌
Room a little outdated
The food was excellent, great chef.
The manager not keeping to the agreement I had made with a previous member of staff for free breakfast
Locations. Friendly helpful staff, lovely family room, delicious food
Nothing!
Lovely building in fabulous location. Good sized room with fantastic view over the beach. Clean and tidy. Excellent breakfast. Staff all friendly and helpful. Allowed us to check in a little early.
Windows had “do not open” on them, so the room was on the warm side despite the small desk fan in the room. The Lino in bathroom was split and needing replacement. Water pressure was very low but not low to prevent showering.
I was transferred to another room because of the smell in my room which was like a sewer smell from the bathroom. The evening manager was excellent in his manner and professionalism and found me an alternative upgraded room , knowing he could not fix the problem there and then. Really enjoyed my breakfast while looking out to sea
My room was next to the lift so heard the robotic lady announcing the floor the occupants had reached or ‘going down’ I am a light sleeper who was extremely tired after arriving from US and then driving up to Lowestoft , so this was annoying to me, but maybe not for others
Lovely hotel, great breakfast, other meals also good. Good location, will rebook.
Das Persoal war clever und sehr, sehr hilfsbereit. Mein Kabel fuer meine Kuehlbox wurde repariert. Einmalig. Kein Luxus - lebensnotwendig fuer meine Medizin. Danke

Really lovely traditional hotel on the sea front and promenade of Lowestoft. We had a family get together as my husband was brought up there and we no longer live locally. We had a number of rooms over a number of nights. The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and helpful, especially as my daughter has a dairy allergy. The breakfast and dinners in the restaurant were excellent, really very good food! We really had a lovely few days! Lowestoft has a great long beach, flat promenade with a pier/arcades!
The staff are so friendly Amy .Nigel and Luke .Food excellent

Simply the best hotel in Lowestoft
Beautiful place and location, professional, friendly and attentive staff.
The view was breathtaking over the sea perhaps would have liked to have been not so high but the view made up for that. The hotel staff were all brilliant without exception they went above and beyond to help us in any way they could always polite smiling nothing was too much trouble made our stay so much better in every way thank you to you all from all of us .The allergies which one of our party had was met with thorough attention and always some tasty alternative was found so thank you chefs for that as well. The food was excellent always tasty hot and served with a smile 😊 so yes a five star review thank you all .
Lovely staff
Lovely seaview room. The bar was great and served good quality bar meals. Breakfast was in the main dining room which had a seaview. Very good breakfast with a self help continental selection and a cooked breakfast to order
hardly any signal for the wifi in room 109 this needs to be sorted out urgently its NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Breakfast was very good and the evening meal was excellent. Parking excellent
Nothing but only a one night stay
Not enough pressure to shower very slow. Unfortunately it rained and only one radiator worked. When we handed key back at reception there was no connection between to say how was our stay just good buy !!!
Very clean, great location and great staff

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Food was also lovely. Excellent location.

Room view of beach nice Comfy bed and pillows
Staff not overly friendly Shower not very powerful Sash windows not easy to keep open making room very hot. Luckily a fan in room otherwise been unbearable heat.
We had a lovely time staying here, I brought my Mum and we stayed Monday to Friday, the staff were outstanding and it’s obvious they love there jobs. If you want modern stay on level 1. If your not bothered but want comfy and clean room 301 Is perfect.
Very comfortable and pleasant hotel right on the first line of the beachfront. Wonderful view of the sea over breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff, especially the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant.
I would have loved to have a room with a sea view and the lift seemed a little bit ancient. Still worked though!
Staff very friendly
Parts bit dated
Everything was fantastic

Excellent stay as always, the Victoria Hotel is the best Hotel in East Anglia, Very clean Brilliant staff ,Lovely Breakfast you could not ask for any thing more, we go every couple of months ,
Had a lovely stay, room was spacious view stunning out on to the sea, parking on site and staff all very friendly smiles all round. Breakfast was great my wife liked the smoked salmon.
Excellent customer service . Excellent fresh cooked skilled food Large room with sea views Function food was exceptional as was the attentive forward thinking staff Brilliant celebration of Life in a location that’s a gem of a find Large Carpark large garden accessible to the promenade. Which is accessible to the beach This is NOT a chain the customer service really is brilliant! Thank You !
Location was excellent Atmosphere was very pleasant Rooms could do with modernise and updating very tired but a comfortable Bed nice quiet room Would have expected a better room for the price we paid. Very clean. Staff were excellent especially in the bar and restaurant Would’ve expected a Hotel of that size to have a comfortable lounge area in the hotel.
Location, food, friendly staff.
Cleanliness of the balcony due to bird muck. Furniture and carpets a bit dated.
Brilliant location, staff were great and breakfast was fantastic
Have stayed a few times here & it represents value, a warm welcome, clean room and is located on the seafront, so fabulous for a break by the sea. We had a room overlooking the car park but it was clean, a good size with a good ensuite. Have had food here before but just had a drink in the bar on arrival & checked out fairly early as we were seeing family.
No issues to report.
I was drawn in by the great deal and was happy to accept the small, dated single room with a noisy lift right outside. For the price, I had no issue with any of that. The problem was the smell. Every time I ran the bathroom tap, the sink produced an intense smell of drains, rotten eggs and sewage. This wasn't a minor odour confined to the bathroom — it was strong enough to fill my small hotel room and linger, making it intensely unpleasant to stay there. I couldn't comfortably use the bathroom, even to brush my teeth. I understand that these things can happen, particularly in an older building, and I was polite and understanding when I raised the issue. Maintenance treated the drain, but unfortunately this made no difference. The friendly cleaners also sympathised and agreed that the smell was bad. As the hotel was full, I had to stay in the room for two nights before I could be moved. My replacement room on the third night was great, and I really appreciated being moved. I would have been happy to leave a positive review if the situation had been handled differently at the end of my stay. When no compensation was offered, I asked for a discount to acknowledge the disruption; this was flatly refused and I was offered a free breakfast instead, which I didn't feel was an adequate or proportionate response. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable — just an apology and some recognition that I had experienced a stay below the hotel's usual standards. Instead, I received a defensive response stating that I should have been happy with what was offered, without even an apology for the experience. The irony is that I booked this hotel instead of camping to avoid smelly toilets. Honestly, I'd have taken a porta-loo in a field over that bathroom any day. Overall impression: dreadful smell, disappointing customer service. Such a shame, because it really wouldn't have taken much to turn a poor experience into a positive one.
Stay here often. Rooms are nice and the breakfast and evening meals are good
Great location, great view, lovely big room. Staff were lovely.
Odd smell in the shower. Shower took a long time to adjust temperature. Water bottles weren’t replenished in the room on the second day.
Location is excellent. Staff were friendly.
No air conditioning.
Beautiful room Very well laid out plenty of cupboard space and handers. Bathroom very clean and inviting. Breakfast was delicious
Single person cost 100 but if I'd booked based on 2 sharing would of been 80. But the facilities etc were identical with one less breakfast
We booked this hotel based on reviews, location and that it has a carpark. My friend and I stayed for 6 nights. We had a twin room with sea view. We couldn’t believe the size of the room, WOW, it was massive. Really clean and comfy beds. The bar area is soo nice and relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast choices were good even though we had usual full English breakfast every day. All the staff are so nice, welcoming, friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again 👍
The room was lovely, the staff were more than helpful at all times, the location was fantastic
The only issue we had was the bath plug wouldn't come back out once we had pushed it in
The main room and the bathroom were far larger than expected, really well presented and clean. I;ve paid more for far less pleasant rooms in other hotels, and the staff were everso friendly.
Water pressure was a little on the low side, but other than that not a single complaint to make. I didn't make use of the bar or the resaurant so can't comment.
Beautiful dining room and bar. Lovely food. Amazing staff. Sea views.
Lowestoft. Had a lovely sea view and the room was lovely and clean and tidy. The staff are so welcoming and really helpful when are table was actually not booked but they sorted it quickly as it was are wedding anniversary. The food was excellent.
We recently stayed at the hotel Victoria and found that location was great for access to the beach and nearby bus routes if you did not want to use the car. The room that we stayed in was on the third floor accessed by a lift and though the room was a little dated it was clean and comfortable. The only downside was the lack of water pressure in the shower. The room was generally quiet apart from the occasional squawking seagulls. A plus was the bar and restaurant which were both bright and welcoming as were all the staff that we encountered. Breakfast was excellent and the choice was great. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and was good value for the money and would definitely go again.
The location was good and the downstairs of the hotel was nice
The rooms were old and tired, needs new carpets. The room wasn’t ready on arrival as a bride was using our room to get ready for her wedding which was downstairs. Lots of people smoking just outside the reception door which was blowing cigarette smoke all through the hotel. Not a nice welcome
Room was gorgeous - large and airy, with seating and coffee table, good view of the sea and the bed was very comfortable. The bath was great and his & hers sinks useful. The only downside was not having a full shower (it was a hand held shower over the bath) - my bad for not reading the details! The breakfast was lovely - you had to pre-order your cooked requirements the day before, but that's understandable to keep the waste and therefore cost down.
I loved the hotel. Parts of Lowestoft are a bit grim though... mainly some of the residents....
Excellent value for money, Seaview rooms and one of the comfiest hotel beds I have ever slept in. The staff were also friendly and cheerful.
Everything
We were staying overnight in Lowestoft to visit a family friend who has mobility issues. After speaking to a few B&B’s (Thank you to Bon Ami for recommending the Hotel Victoria) we managed to get 4 rooms including an accessibility room. The Hotel: The hotel was nice and easy to find, right on the promenade with nice high views across the beach front. The bar/lounge area was nice and spacious with two cool indoor beach huts, lots of choices of drinks and coffees and the bar snack menu looked good. We booked the restaurant for dinner and requested a window seat, all of which was accommodated for. The food portions were large and tasty, only slight downside was the batter on the cod goujons were a little on the think side, but everything else was good. Breakfast was included and was amazing, I picked the full English, including black pudding, everything on the plate was very tasty and cooked as ordered, the coffee and tea was excellent. The rooms We arrived early as we wanted to spend as much time on the beach as we could, Emma on reception welcomed us and managed to get us a early check in for one of the rooms so we were able to put all bags in one of the rooms until the others were ready. I had a room on the 3rd floor, it was super spacious and recently updated, it overlooked the sea and was a picture even at 4:30 in the morning with a coffee. The double bed was soft and comfortable, the room included full tea and coffee and a nice breakout “living room”. The bathroom was modern clean and stocked with shower gel and shampoo. The other rooms were similar, but not as recently updated. Only slight downside was one of the rooms needed the bathroom to be updated but was clean and all working. The staff All staff were spoke to before the visit and during our stay were super friendly and helpful. The bar/waiting staff always smiling and happy, where they sang whilst listening to the music! It made it feel like home from home. All in all I would definitely be back and would recommend the rooms overlooking the sea for that early morning view.
Beautiful location by the sea, reception staff very welcoming
Unfortunately the shower attachment didn’t work (lever was seized) in room 206 and we couldn’t open the window in the twin bedroom.
This was our second stay at the Hotel Victoria, which in itself is indicative of how highly we rate it. We previously visited last December and having thoroughly enjoyed our stay, on this latest visit we wanted to take advantage of the hotels location to beach and promenade – weather permitting!! The weather delivered as did the hotel which was excellent The location of the hotel is ideal for public transport links, a 10 minute stroll from the Railway Station and with a Bus Stop to Southwold and Norwich as well as local services more or less outside. As per our last visit we had a spacious sea view room, giving a lovely panoramic view of the beach and promenade. The bed was lovely and comfy, in truth when away from home I have difficulty sleeping but no such problem here The breakfast is great, such a treat to have a Full English (or other options if you choose) as well as access to Continental We had one evening meal at the hotel, as we wanted to explore further afield on the other evenings – in truth given the quality and value for money we wish we’d have eaten the other nights at the hotel and will certainly be doing so on future visits There’s so much to like about the Hotel Victoria most of which I’ve detailed above but as important if not more so are the staff. Without exception the staff are so friendly and helpful, I can’t speak highly enough of them If we need to give any further endorsement to the Hotel Victoria the fact that we’re already booked to return in December and next August tells you all

Location location location
Bed was good, bathroom was good. Staff were cheerful, location is good.
Room with large windows facing the afternoon sun. The room was very hot, no air conditioning and just a small fan provided. Breakfast looked like it had been kept warm for ages and very unappertising. TV in room 106 doesnt work, but as i was only staying one night i didnt want the hassle of someone trying to fix it while i was there. Checkout was deserted, so when i planned to mention the tv, there was no one there.
Lovely hotel Shame about the nasty smell from the bathroom in room 108
The hospitality was good
Arrived at the hotel the Friday the 8th August, its a lovely hotel close to the beach and other sites like the Norfolk broads and pleasure wood hills. the staff from the word go were really pleasant and were very helpful during my short 1 night stay. I didn't eat In the evening at the hotel, so I can't comment on the food. but breakfast was included in my stay, and the full English breakfast is a FULL! English. the hotel rooms are very nice with all the coffee and tea making facilities you would expect. all in all a very pleasant stay, and if I am traveling this way again I would book this hotel again. great service, great breakfast, my thanks to all.
Perfect Location with lots of rooms with good seaview. Staff very proffessional and friendly. Food excellent. Good size, clean rooms.
some decor a little tired and dated. No mini bar/ fridge in rooms.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, amazing breakfast

The hotel was great, close to the beach and other amenities, from the start the staff were very attentive. nothing it would seem was to much trouble, my room was very comfortable with all the coffee and tea making facility's you would expect. breakfast was included in my stay, and the full English breakfast was as it said a very FULL English. all in all I cannot fault the hotel in any way. very easy to get too, close to the Norfolk broads and great Yarmouth, great for touring around if you were staying for a few days. I would book the Victoria again, should I come back up to Norfolk in the future.
We had a lovely family meal for four of us at the Victoria hotel. It was a special fish lunch. All of the staff that attended to us were very smartly dressed. The whole meal for all of us was superb. My wife had the lobster meal which was perfectly cooked but the portion size beat her.Two of us had the oven baked halibut with the best chips that I have ever had in my 87 years. Well done to the chef and all of the staff. Thank you.
Stayed a few times and will always come back.staff are good rooms are clean and the bathroom.and the food.
Sea views and access to the beach.
Nothing
The hotel is located right next to the beach. It was perfect for spending time there. A short walk to all the attractions. The hotel staff were really excellent - nothing was too much bother and they weee always friendly and helpful. The family rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were really happy with the whole experience. We will return!

Superb location in the sea front. Comfy clean up to date rooms, great breakfast.
This is the third time we stayed at the Victoria Hotel and as usual the staff are very friendly and helpful especially the lady behind the reception. The breakfast is amazing and there are ample choices for everyone. We have never had an evening meal there so cannot comment on this. We stayed in a suite this time and wished we had chosen this on previous stays. We actually booked next year on our first night. We would highly recommend you give this hotel a try you won't be disappointed.
Excellent view of the beach. The decor was of a very good standard. Plenty of choice for breakfast and they also provided my favourite which is prunes.
We had trouble closing one of the windows and the bathroom could do with a blind?
Good hotel breakfast good. I would stay there again
Great view lovely friendly staff.
Shower pressure not great.
A traditional seaside hotel. Great location, friendly staff, good breakfast overlooking the beach. Value for money.
Location and facilities
Excellent location lovely food pleasant staff large room
Unfortunately we couldn’t open any windows in our room 105 they were paint sealed shut we asked reception to check the first day and were told someone would look at it. No one came and we spent two extremely hot nights with not much sleep. We did have a fan but it didn’t rotate and wasn’t much help in the hot room.
Wonderful hotel. It was good to find a hotel that had single rooms and charged a single price. The food is excellent with a comprehensive choice at breakfast which can be ordered the night before. We also tried the lunchtime bar snacks and the full evening menu which were outstanding. The staff are excellent, especially the restaurant and bar staff who are knowledgeable about the food and drink. They were always smiling. The hotel overlooks the beach and you can step out of the back door and be straight on the south promenade.
Only staying one night!!
Brilliant location. Amazing sea views. Great bathroom. Staff were friendly.
Bed wasn't very comfortable and room was very hot.
Great sea view excellent room
Excellent location, peaceful atmosphere, room good and good value, no noise, a mile walk along a beautiful sea front to the rather, sadly, shabby town. Just enjoy the interesting harbour and clean safe beach.
Great staff and location.
Nothing, all great
Great location, a nice stroll to train and bus station through the town . The great staff help for a relaxed but professional atmosphere. Rooms decorated to a good standard and beds comfortable. Superb value and breakfast excellent.
The best thing about this hotel (and it is a really great hotel) is the politeness and cheerfulness of the staff. Best trained anywhere I’ve been.
Comfy bed, nice looking room, lovely big shower. Nice, tidy looking place internally. Breakfast was decent. Great views of the sea from the dining room. A very reasonably priced nice hotel not far from a nice garden with pond and along the sea front. Parking good on site.
Bar and restaurant were either not available or had a limited menu (Fathers' day set menu but I was travelling alone as a female) for the nights I stayed. Their normal menu looked fab, so this was disappointing and really the only let down...but eating where you are staying of an evening is part of the experience. Sitting area for guests was not really advertised/used and there was not comfortable space-furniture to relax in, away from bar / restaurant area.
Location was perfect. Room size was generous.
The shower had no pressure so was more of a drizzle than shower.
Staff and breakfast and room are great value for money
Shower and mattress but for one night no problem
