Location is good for attending functions at The Wherry Hotel where the rooms are dated. The rooms at the Wolf Inn are more modern/pleasant.

Did not like the fact that we could not properly lock the uPVC doors. Despite persisting, we could not get the doors to lock and whilst outside the doors is a flat roof, we would have felt more comfortable with locked doors

The bed was very comfy.

Shower cubicle door seal wasn't tight, so water leaked onto the floor.

Well positioned to get to where we needed to be.

Bed very uncomfortable, pillows dirty and not in a pillow protection! Dirty quilt, cobwebs and dust in lots of places. Lots of marks and stains on walls.

I am glad i paid for the larger bed - i imaging the single bed would be very compact ! the rear staircase is quite step when carrying cases and the notes on the keys when booking in are misleading as you don't appear to need them It was good to get the front door code 0- would have helped to know this is the same code for the entrance to the room !!

Big TV. The shower was good but it had wonky rail and was difficult to keep in position. Location was excellent.

Room didn't look like advertised. Was expecting more of a boutique looking room.Property was a bit run down and very noisy room on the top of a busy roundabout especially at night. Lack of communication with the owner. Left messages before we arrived which wasn't answered. Had an issue with the fire alarm we tried to reach the owner several times and so did another couple. In the end we had to call the fire brigade to switch the alarm off which was a worry especially if there had been a real fire. No communication with the owner after

Had a 3 night stay. Great location. Fresh towels everyday which I think is great. Fan also provided as the weather was humid. The room was spotless cannot fault it.

A little bit of noise from the road. But that’s due to it being right where you want to be.

The room was clean and the guy in the bar was friendly and helpful. The shower was good.

The rooms are accessed by a steep, narrow wooden staircase at the back of the property. Our room(3) was very small and looked down on a traffic roundabout so was noisy. The room had 2 hooks to hang clothes on- no wardrobe or chest of drawers- room too small for any!. The bathroom was tiny with a minute sink and a toilet with a macerator so was smelly and noisy. I would not stay again.

The property is great value for money looks very premium very secure building in a prime location not far from shops are train station and with a bus stop outside great little pub also very happy with my stay and will definitely be back!!

Minor things tbh....splashes on inside of door to bathroom. Clock not working Odd light bulbs in bedside lamps No handle on one of the windows so we couldn't open it up and dust on big fan in room and on extractor fan in bathroom....these are more of a observation to help improve the room. Proper bad points On the main road but not to busy at night but being over a pub very noisy at night and had the local police sorting out the locals but it was a world Cup night and England won so it was noisier than usual I guess.

Friendly and helpful owner, comfy bed, kettle, tea and biscuits provided, good mirrors and windows you can open. The staff in the bar are lovely and the prices of drinks were significantly lower than other bars in the area.

The shower was very slippy and there were no handrails or shower mat so it felt a bit unsafe. Lighting was very poor at night, with one low wattage pendant light. No parking at the property was an issue but luckily we found an overnight space nearby.

The room itself was very nice, clean, and comfy bed, lots of fresh towels biscuits etc daily, However few things need addressing, access is via a steep narrow staircase, i dont think this was mentioned, any problems with hips knees would be very difficult. Our room had a big bright bathroom with new suite but floor badly needed covering, less bling in bedroom and more attention needed although well intentioned. Location is above the bar and a busy roundabout so was noisy but although didnt bother us, others would find it intrusive, so apart from these things the owners are trying to renovate but attention to details like sweeping balcony and getting rid of cigarette butts is so important

Location and near a lovely park and river with a stunning cafe - Was allowed in early and that was nice...Staff very helpful.

Keyfob was a bit fiddly but soon sorted...Parking fiddly but ok.

The room was excellent, nice layout, adequate bathroom.Some cosmetic faults but nothing that impacted my stay. Fan available as the room was very warm. Great place for a 1 night stopover. It is located by a couple of bars so was lively with people outside. Peace and quiet it is not but for me by the time I settled down at midnight it was quiet. Highly recommend the 142 Cafe for breakfast, gorgeous back garden with loads of space.

The room faces a main road roundabout so very noisy road traffic, thankfully I travel with earplugs, so it didn't impact my sleep. I was allocated RM 7 and when trying to use the code it wouldn't work, thankfully the staff in the bar helped me and confirmed I had been given the wrong code. The 24hr telephone support took a little while longer to respond but when she did, it highlighted I was in the wrong room should have been RM 8 but booking.com clearly stated RM 7 so if your code doesn't work may be a room allocation admin fault. The room was an upgrade so I was very happy with the admin error lol not so if they had enforced me to move. Overall a great stay and I will stay here again.

Modern, beautifully decorated. Provided a fan which was just right. Compact but fine for my overnight stay. The pub a few doors down was handy. Bed was very comfortable. Shower strong, easy to use and water temperature find. A nice walk round the area. With cafes bars. Easy 5 minute walk to and from the train srstion Oulton Broad North.

Very happy. A few more tea bags and milk sachets would have been handy, but I guess I could have asked at the pub for somd.

Dirty, messy, front door left open all night, no towels or floor mat.. the room looked nothing like the pictures and noone cared to answer the phone when we tried to raise conplains. It was shockingly bad! I would never return.

Perfectly fine for me. I liked the keyless entry, shower was hot and powerful. Towels changed daily.. I will more than likely be back again. They don't do breakfast but you can usually get something in the Wherry over the road.

Nothing to dislike. A suitcase stand would be a good addition. I didn't see any staff so couldn't rate them.

Was Mis-sold.. the room Was in the the Terence house next door. No parking at back. Car parking only on side of road till 8am the next morning. Room was over looking a roundabout with heavy traffic. Needless to say we didn’t stay.

Nice modern room, good location, great carvery across the road. Easy to find. The room was clean and comfortable with Tea/coffee making facilities. Access code to enter the property was easy. Tastefully furnished. Clean and powerful shower with separate bathroom which worked well for us. The beds were comfy and the room was nice and warm.

Parking was not easy, right at the end of the road a long walk in the rain with bags. The room, although modern was damp with obvious patches on the walls and ceiling where paper/plaster was peeling/bowing and the bed next to the wall got damp on the sheets due to the proximity to the damp wall. Our room was on the top floor and had a very low alcove ceiling in the bathroom which you had to be careful not to hit your head on. The single beds were quite short.

Seemed a rush clean was very dusty and did not smell pleasant cobwebs on ceiling and air vent in shower very dusty found TV controller under sheet in bed saw no staff .

The outside staircase. The outside door which was unlocked throughout left me feeling very vulnerable. No staff seen so again felt vulnerable. Room was lovely but wouldn’t stay here again.

The hotel was pleasant, and the room was well-suited for a single occupant.

I was upstairs at the back in room 12. It was very quiet, no traffic noise or street noise at all. Very conveniently situated near Oulton Broad for beautiful walks, via a quaint bridge and paths through park and village. Room was cozy but had everything needed. Staff were friendly and happy to oblige with extra tea, milk if requested. Security was good with locks and camera in hallway.

A pia do banheiro poderia ser maior, ou poderiam retirar a estante de cima dela. Tive dificuldades de lavar o rosto e escovar os dentes, pois a agua caía no chão. É só um pequeno ajuste.

It was a great base to visit family staying on the local caravan site. The room was compact but had everything we needed. Staff were helpful.

Some may struggle with the decked stairway up to the room, but we were fine. We parked roadside 5 minutes walk away. Room needs a new set of cutlery

The property was clean and well-appointed, with plenty of space. Most importantly (for me) it was totally quiet - I was in room 11 at the back, and it was silent and dark (no window) so I got a good night's sleep.

Parking on Forge Lane was pretty much impossible in an SUV. I'm a good parker, but my wing mirror was touching the neighbours' bins on one side, and I had about 2 inches the other with all the parking sensors on a solid tone! Probably fine in a small car. I did find a free space a couple of minutes down the road, but unless you're in a small car, it's not really viable to use the apartment's space. The biggest issue I found was that I only discovered that the back door had been left unlocked when I returned at the end of the first evening (I hadn't tried it since I arrived and went out). Anyone could have got in while I was out. Couple of snagging bits: I fixed the shower door (it was off its roller-track), and the shower rail (with the shower head) is off the wall at the top. One of the bedside lights' bulb fitting is loose and a bit dodgy. Would also be good to have a tea-towel for drying up and a washing up sponge (I used my hands and a hand towel). I also think the outside front door should be on a sprung closure mechanism, as it doesn't close properly (or is left open by other residents). But overall, while this sounds negative, it was actually fine.

Communication was great, instructions for parking, access & the like were concise & accurate, no problems with finding the place & getting to & into my room.

No negatives from me, as a check in process goes it was functional & basic but everything was considered & catered for

The hotel as a whole and location as someone who lived in Southend until very recently appreciated where it is mainly the beach and seafront as well being close to Westcliff station which was ideal for me

The entry and room key system (me being a certain age who is forgetful) although I totally see why it's in place,it's a personal thing which won't stop me returning to the hotel later on this Yea5

The tv did not work throughout the whole stay even though it was brought to the attention of the staff on the Friday evening

Could have do with noise reduction windows as traffic is heavy and could hear the music in the pub next door. Also the light in the bathroom could stay on as long as you’re in the room . I was in the shower and it went out , I had to call my wife to open the door so I could continue to wash .
