Well , our room was very comfortable but one can see it probably needs an update 😌 Bathroom specially sink taps, shower heads and floor l But really We thought it's all ok for what it costs !!

The breakfast had amazing choice to satisfy everyone. They stored our luggage so that we could wander the town before a late flight.

The two for one cocktails during happy hour were not good value.

The location of the hotel is splendid! I had stayed there before so got the room I had expected. It is a well-equipped suite which has a balcony overlooking the street and some pageantry!

I have commented before about the inconvenience of the phone system. This further stay has made it feel worse, not better. My earlier comment was: "There are no longer in-room phones. I had to use my mobile phone for in-hotel communications with reception etc. This was repeatedly inconvenient. I found it all rather too strange an "advance"!" So, one has to make an external call to get through to hotel staff / services or other members of one's journeying party.

My room wasn't serviced on return at 4pm. Housekeeping knocked my door around 6.30pm, far too late, as I'd already showered.

4th floor Castle view room, veranda porch overlooked main windsor cobblestone street. Walk everywhere; town shops, Castle, Long walk park, & Eton bridge river area. Close to train station, but we Uber from LHR. Comfy beds, quiet nite, great shower, full buffet breakfast with mass selection! Luggage storage after checkout.

Taxi drop is back cul-de-sac (we had too many bags to use train & no drop at front of hotel) but no bell ring to front desk to access hotel until you get room key. I waited with luggage while hubby walked down alley & up shopping street to access front of building & hotel reception, who then accompanied him down to open back door. Overall great experience!

The breakfast was really limited for vegan choices! Mushrooms and baked beans are not a varied selection and hash browns are not vegan (they are vegetarian). Also a lack of choice for those who don't eat pork products

Great stay at this hotel, location outstanding, staff were very helpful and professional, will go back for definate.

They ciuld have tried to do the beds properly after our first nights stay as it was when it arrived, also replenishing the coffee & milk in the rooms, people may think this is picky, however other hotels I've stayed in do this with pride, appart from the aforementioned it was a great hotel to stay at...!!

Love to stay at the McDonald’s it is right in the heart of Windsor, a stones throw away from the castle. We had a brilliant breakfast , all the stuff are lovely from the guy in the car park to girls on reception would definitely use the McDonald’s again.

Breakfast was very good and efficient. Lifts are very good. Location was excellent

The double beds (which are really large singles) are uncomfortable for two tallish people. I understand what you have tried to do within your refurb limitations BUT you could still increase some of the double bed sizes. Good showers, but not enough support rails! Toilets are far too low. OK for shorter people, but the lowest I have ever seen. The hand basin is also low, although not so much of a problem.

Lovely modern hotel and location is in the centre of Windsor. Large balcony room with views to castle is fabulous.

Room wasn’t cleaned on 2nd day so no fresh towels or bedding and had to ask for replenishments. Have stayed a number of times previously so a little disappointed due to cost of room. However the hotel concierge was extremely helpful and friendly and would stay again.

Todo perfecto! Estuvimos una noche tras estar en Legoland. Muy buena ubicación, todo limpio, habitación completisima, cama muy cómoda!! Se ve un hotel excelente! Justo delante del Castillo de Windsor, había tiendecitas próximas, y pudimos incluso ver el cambio de guardia que nos pareció muuy bonito

Lo unico el lavabo se bloqueo el tapon y se acumulaba el agua, pero tampoco nos supuso un problema

What a fantastic location, as soon as you step out, Windsor castle is right there. A small walk away is the river where you can feed the ducks and geese. A little shopping street right next door. Many places to eat at just a small walk away. Our rooms where amazing.

Breakfast was cold, people were complaining as nothing being refilled and eventually one item came out The bed was not comfortable no topper so could feel the mattress . The room was warm and when window opened we had extraction tubes outside could hear noise. Hotel looked tired in places Paid £80 for two nights parking

Could have been biscuits provided in the room. Carpet was dirty and stained. Only one towel was provided had to ask for another. Room servicing was very late in the afternoon. Breakfast certainly wasn’t good value for money at £24 per person. Waited 10 minutes for fried eggs on day one and poached eggs on day two we’re under cooked (snotty)

The staff were very friendly when we were at the actual hotel especially the concierge with the car parking.

Before we arrived, I called the hotel about the car parking who just told me to call back later which I didn’t find very helpful. Also, once I had managed to book the parking, I wasn’t told any directions for the car park nor that I should use a different postcode to the hotel to find it. This made is very stressful for our arrival.

I stayed at the Macdonald Windsor Hotel during a spare weekend on a business trip. The location is excellent - opposite Windsor Castle, a short walk from the train station and surrounded by plenty of places to eat. My room wasn’t large, but it was ideal for a solo traveler. It had enough desk space to catch up on some work, as well as a fridge for drinks and supplies. I also had a charming view of the Crooked House directly across the street. The hotel has an interesting, quirky layout, with several short sets of stairs connecting different levels. It felt as though the hotel may have been formed from several adjoining buildings, which gave it plenty of character.

Nothing significant. I didn’t eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel, as there were many restaurants and cafés nearby.

The location is fantastic and despite being in the centre of Windsor, the rooms are quiet. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious.

Nothing not to like! Limited facilities (ie no gym/spa) but it’s a fantastic place for a night or two in Windsor.

It’s was a good location, as we were going to Legoland, so wasn’t far to travel for the night.

The location was fabulous being right next to the castle and walking around the city, as well, the guard marched right past the hotel. They also made excellent Espresso Margaritas

It was a little noise at night and couldn't leave the balcony door open. There were also lots of souvener shops around the hotel - which was a good and bad thing, as lots of people were always around.

The bathroom. While a relatively large room, the shower was a problem. It was located in a bath and when you had a shower due to the location of the shower head and the glass not being fixed properly, you had water spraying all over the room.

Cost of the parking was £40 and so we had to drive around somewhere cheaper. My advice is go to the castle car park as it’s £28 for 24hour parking and 4 min walk from the hotel. Wasn’t a fan of the big stains on the carpet and also the window sash was dangerous for a 4 year old so didn’t attempt to open for fresh air

The hotel is situated perfectly amongst everything you need. The castle is literally there. Close to the high street and very near the river. We only stayed 1 night as we went to Windsor races. The room is super comfortable and quiet. The staff are fantastic especially Florence at reception. Would definitely visit again.

The only slight thing i would have changed is the AC there is no instructions how to use it and it was really hot in the room which made it quite stuffy and slightly hard to sleep.

Fabulous location, very close to the town center and castle. Nice breakfast especially child free. My son really enjoyed. Great facility especially the adjustable shower unit which adjust to a waterfall-like shower. Spacious room, much more bigger than I thought. Also different selections of tea bags and coffee maker.

Some corner of the room were a bit dusty. The cupboard where the fridge sits in did not look like being cleaned probably as I can see the stain on it. Also the cupboard door may need to be fixed.

Location, location, location! It's just perfectly situated. When you come out of the main entrance the castle is directly opposite - just great! All the local shops and restaurants are within a very short walk and if you go a little further over the Windsor Eaton bridge, you can explore Eton itself, which was very quaint & pretty. Within the hotel itself, we found our rooms to be beautiful, extremely spacious with all the facilities you need. Bed was very comfy and walk-in shower was great! Our rooms were on the third floor and it was ideal to be honest. There was no unwanted noise for the whole duration of our stay. So peaceful and relaxing. Good selection at breakfast. Lovely bar area with plenty of comfortable seating. As a treat, we decided to have the afternoon tea on our second day and it was very filling and delicious. Extra tea/coffee provided should you wish, which was a nice touch. Many places charge for a second pot of tea or another cup of coffee. All of the staff we encountered throughout the hotel were good, very courteous and helpful/accommodating. All in all, very pleased with our stay and we will definitely be returning for another stay! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a high class base in the heart of Windsor.

Only issue we experienced, and to be fair it was tiny, was the safe box had been removed from the room prior to our arrival. But everything else was perfect.

Loved the location of the hotel. Windsor castle was just opposite. There are plenty bars and restaurants nearby. The shops were also close.

No parking although booked but couldn't get hold off the team. Found much cheaper parking option by the railway station.

We were kindly upgraded to a wonderful suite and a great stay. The suite was roomy, great air conditioning, and facilities. Bed was super comfy. It was just me and my daughter and she thought it was the best place she’d ever stayed.

Some parts of the hotel are quite dark due the building being old but huge despite the small Frontage. This can’t be helped.
