St Andrews Hotel

Location for town access was very good. Easy walk

The hotel is in the middle of a development area with building happening all around the hotel. Parking was closed but our car still managed to acquire a scratch on the bumper probably from staff moving equipment around.

Decent location ten minutes from city centre

Could open curtains as scaffolding directly outside. Breakfast room far too small and staff couldn’t cope.

The room was very warm on arrival, but it cooled down overnight.

The breakfast was good.

Building works taking place which were not disclosed. Building covered in scaffolding, breakfast area halved in size and guests squashed together. I was told to arrive early (7am) to get a seat! Room small, but was clean. WiFi terrible.

Breakfast area was lovely. Hotel and room was clean. The original dining area and hotel reception was undergoing renovation.

The room we stayed in felt cramped, no air in the room as outside the window was just the other side of the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here and felt welcome from the minute we arrived. The staff were all so lovely to us and the service at breakfast was so great as was the breakfast. Free parking easy 20-30 min walk to the city centre. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you

Sleeping was terrible. Worst sleep of my life either you had window open and could hear the traffic on the main road or you shut the window then bedroom was too stuffy and hot put the fan on which was so unbelievably loud. I put my ear plugs in and it still woke me up many times. This ruined my experience. If they had air con it would be way better or fan that wasnt so noisy. I did report it. The bedroom was way too hot. Radiators where not on. The room number 18 was top floor of the hotel.

It did the job breakfast was good with table service and a decent feed.

We were in room 12 at the back of the hotel which had a sloping ceiling. As the sun was on the rear of the property the room was stifling though a fan was supplied. Though the bed was comfortable the room could have done with a decent vacuum as the carpet was dusty. The bathroom was also dusty though the toilet and shower were clean.

The location was ideal for a stroll to the Quays area and then on to the cathedral and city centre.

Nothing it exceeded our expectations

The room sizes are great, we had a double bed and 2 twins. Very comfy, and spacious room. Bathroom ideal - shower was great. Also, a great chose for breakfast. Parking was ideal, busy car park but we all seemed to have a space. Two massive floor fans in the wardrobe which we had both on, a great extra touch.

A lamp by the double bed would have been handy but not a deal breaker.

Easy to find and close to town. Was allowed to park before we checked in. Staff all very friendly and efficient.

Just a small thing. We stayed in room 16 and there was rather a lot of dust in the top of the radiator. Also the wooden beams and in the top of the bedside light. So am assuming all other radiators must be the same.

Good breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Room clean and comfortable. Short walk to Exeter Quay for bars, restaurants and water activities. Bus stop outside for town service. Parking facilities good.

Check-in was a simple process and there was ample parking. The shower had great water pressure and was easy to use. The hotel is within easy reach of the riverside and city centre.

You can hear adjacent rooms quite easily. The road is very loud although to be fair the windows are okay at blocking out the majority of it.

Clean, well decorated, comfortable and premium-feel, good linen, comfy mattress, good towels, good shower (if a little small), decent size of single bed, good breakfast, easy parking, great location. Well run - an efficient operation.

Nothing. It surpassed my expectations as often hotels like this can be tired and basic but this was not. They are not set up to accept early check-ins but that’s fair enough. You can still park there early and come back later.

First impression spacious room, no ironing facilities, no water to drink-to make coffee or tea, i found previous customers hair on my bedside table. No fridge within the room, yet it rated as a four star hotel. i did asked for a spoon to use for my coffee, the female server told me to use my glasses which i think was very rude. She might be joking, but would she said that to another customer. Overall we survive. I would not go back there or even recommend a friend or family.

It was near town , no hills. Plenty of food places, it was good course there put us in back room saw we didn't ear the traffic. Thank you for that ! Also it was a good idea course we were there for 11 days !

Steep stairs. Rather hot indoors, although opening the windows helped there was a lot of traffic noise. Receptionist was not very welcoming and not helpful when we realised booking.com had messed up: we booked a TWIN room and got a DOUBLE, so had to book an extra single. I ended up in a different hotel. We also had friction over parking. They advertise parking, but it's limited and they have 25 rooms. The poor attitude spoiled the general impression.

Beautiful large room overlooking St Ives, with all required facilities in room. Including iron and ironing board, coffee making facilities, Clean Good breakfast and coffee. Very frendly,smiley and accomodating staff especially front desk. Helful when ordering taxis.

Would have preferred not to have had to book timing of breakfast, that was our only restriction. A supply of drinking water in vessel would be good as had to keep remembering to purchase water on going up to the room.

Das Hotel liegt direkt an der Hauptstrasse fussläufig zur City. Ein Aldi-Markt ist wenige Minuten entfernt. Das Frühstück war gut und das Parken war umsonst. Es gab Kaffee- und Teezubehör mit Wasserkocher. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist in Ordnung.

Das Zimmer war sehr klein. Das Badezimmer nicht sauber. Die Toilettenbürste hätte dringend gewechselt werden müssen und die Reinigungskraft schaute leider nicht unter das Waschbecken, wo sich der Staub sammelte. Der Ventilator im Zimmer war gut gemeint aber zu groß und zu laut … aber da sich die Hitze im Zimmer sammelte musste er laufen.

The room was excellent; spacious, clean and comfortable, and well appointed. I appreciated the minor touches [e.g. good quality teabags not PG Tips], shows attention to detail. Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful.

Room was stuffy with the windows shut, and very noisy [constant traffic noise] with the windows open. Difficult to sleep. Wifi connection was poor. Location not great-a half hour's walk from city centre, with few amenities close to hand.

Jeg forstår ikke hvor de 4 stjerne er berettiget? Der er ikke mulighed for anden mad end morgenmad. Der er ingen bar. Der er ingen minibar på værelset. Der er ikke aircondition. Der er ikke fitnesscenter. Der er faktisk ingenting andet end en seng. Alle de ting der gør at et hotel kan få 4 stjerner, mangler! Billederne på booking.com viser et stort flot hus, med lækre værelser og flot mad. Virkeligheden er at det er en forvokset villa i et villakvarter ud til en stor trafikeret vej. Værelserne er varme med lille mulighed for udluftning. I min verden er dette mere et hostel eller en B&B end et hotel. Øv!

Staff were great, really welcoming and lovely

The road from the noise is bad at the front and side of the hotel, the windows do shut the noise out , but then the room was too hot. A really good floor fan was supplied , but it was one of the hottest days and that didn’t help too much. The noise from the road has to be balanced with the quick access in or out of the City.

This was a great find in Exeter. Plenty of parking. The hotel was clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. It was a comfortable walk away from everything in the city. I recommend this property.

It was extremely hot and no window had been opened prior to our arrival/ check in which was late

Decent budget price hotel. Friendly welcome. Room was nice, was well equipped and clean. Had to leave before breakfast but dining room looked pleasant enough.

Room was quite stuffy (but not surprisingly as weather hot), the fan provided was good but very loud. Mattress was not the best but I still slept ok.

Fantastic place Booked last minute so got a small room but very clean and tidy. Breakfast was made to order and was perfect. Definitely worth the stay.

Rooms not got air con and fan stopped working and our own moan was the bed was a double but was very comfortable.

Poor basic standards & poor breakfast

Fantastic room/studio. Very welcoming staff . Room is exceptionally well equipped and spotless. High end equipment and shower to die for.

The mattress felt it had given up the ghost and was uncomfortable, and had no support. The door really does need fixing as you are on a busy road, and you can hear every vehicle! The high quality that this room tries to give is spoilt by two basic problems.

Das Doppelbett entspricht nicht den Größenvorstellungen eines Doppelbett in Deutschland. Das Zimmer war sehr klein und stickig. Es gab zwar einen Ventilator und ein Fenster das man öffnen konnte aber ab 6:00 Uhr Morges musste man es schließen da direkt neben uns der Abzug für die Küche gab. Auch die Fruehstueckszeiten Mo-Fr waren uns bis 9:00!Uhr zu kurz

Great position and easy to get to. Also had a large size car park. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean. The breakfast was lovely.

I was in room 1 which had the kitchen extractor fan by it which started at 6am and was very noisy.

A very clean hotel and the staff were friendly - they gave my mum, who has trouble walking, a more easily accessible room without us asking. The location was reasonably close to the town centre, just a 5 minute taxi ride.

The room was really hot. They supplied a fan, but it wasn't enough to cool the room and there was only a duvet (wish hotels would supply a separate sheet). Alternatively external blinds or shutters for the room would have really helped keep it cooler in the first place

Cet établissement n’est clairement pas un 4 étoiles. La salle de bain était très exiguë avec un lavabo très bas et une toute petite tablette dans laquelle il fallait faire attention de ne pas se cogner. Pas de possibilité de remonter les stores occultants car pas de rideaux et chambre au rez de chaussée. Pas de climatisation. Petit déjeuner servi a table avec un choix très limité.

Room was incredibly hot - fan provided but very noisy and one window opened but onto loud road traffic. Tired facilities - toilet flush disintegrating, paper cups provided, Wi-Fi weak.

No lift. Have to use stairs to the lowest level rooms. No TV room/bar to socialise and watch the football. Bed felt 50 years old.

It’s not luxury, but clean, quiet and comfortable and good value. A handy stopover and fairly close to the quay and on into town.

The breakfast is good for the money, but not high class.

The room and bathroom were clean and modern

Room was very small, at the top of the building in a heatwave so incredibly hot. Opening the windows meant listening to the heavy traffic on the main road until about 2.30am. The fan was very noisy and couldn't really cope with the heat. So no sleep at all.

The breakfast was awful. Under cooked sausage, undercooked hash brown, undercooked tomato. Old bacon. Yea was cheap. Only thing nice was the eggs. Definitely needs improvements
