Booked twin beds with EasyJet but when arrived 1am was told by very unhelpful and condescending boy on reception there weren’t any twins and argued that I didn’t book a twin until I showed him my booking. Had to accept a double bed and the next morning they made up the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable as it had a big gully down the middle. No offer of compensation at all. Beware the broken pavement outside the hotel and no street lights! twisted my ankle and fell. so painful spend next day in bed and limped around the rest of the week, forced to eat in the overpriced restaurant and bar. Hotel reception staff disinterested and said the pavement and lighting was nothing to do with them. Turns out I had a fracture. Nice enough hotel, very clean and friendly maid service, but is very secluded meaning you have to get a taxi or shuttle bus everywhere. The bus is independent of the hotel and there’s a charge. The beach looks bad and there were weeds growing in between the sun beds there. The pool is the best attraction with lots of palm trees. Bar staff are lovely and very kind but the restaurant staff appear stressed and run off their feet. There weren’t enough meat dishes on the buffet and very small amount that went too quickly. The fish was over cooked and dry but plenty choice of fruit, salads and cakes. Breakfast was good.
Poor choice by us booked 14days left after 6 days .. beach like a builders yard .. only one Resturant for dinner buffet average quality and limited choice poor wine selection staff don’t want be there .. no restaurants near hotel all 30+ mins away and poor quality.. nice pool .. bar ran like a 1980’s place poor choice of wine no draught beer limited bottles.. breakfast same everyday limited fresh fruit mainly tinned stuff couldn’t stay in this time warp .foe 14 days . room supposed to be garden view mainly a bunch of pebbles and a row of scruffy trees … we had to leave
Me and my partner have just had a weeks stay at this resort and from reading the reviews I was skeptical but I can honestly say it’s one of the best places we have stayed. The resort itself is absolutely stunning. The pool area is perfect for lounging around, also offering activities such as water gym at a couple of points through the day. The evening also offers entertainment at the pool bar, doing quizzes for all nationalities and live music. We came towards the end of the season and these activities were still offered, as well as air con still being on in the rooms despite what is stated on the information. The staff are attentive and friendly, some of whom you can tell really love their job. There is an onsite mini mart where you can purchase items such as cigarettes, suncream, beach wear and bags. We were all inclusive and originally found lunch a little confusing due to it being a sit down meal type, with menus and prices requiring us to ask reception to re-explain the rules around this. Breakfast and Dinner are buffet style as you’d expect at an all inclusive resort. On the contrary of what others have said, we found the food to be lovely and varied each day, with healthy salad and veg available as well as pizzas, pastas and meats. If you are ordering drinks during meals, these will cost (other than water) but drinks at the bars are free when using the all inclusive menu. When ordering anything at any part of the hotel, you will be asked your room number but asked to sign the receipt if anything has to be paid for, to be paid for at the end of the stay. We were given an extra card for the bills to be added to but we didn’t use this or were asked for this at any point and still don’t really understand the use of this. The resort is however very isolated and it is a long journey to any excursions and a long journey too and from the airport (approx 2.5 hours). We did 2 days of excursions which were 7am pick ups and 7pm drop offs so be prepared for long days of travelling on coaches but worth it if you’re here for exploring and relaxing. All in all it has been a beautiful stay and haven’t encountered any off putting experiences whilst here and definitely would stay here again. We don’t normally leave reviews when we stay anywhere but from reading some of them before coming, thought we would leave an honest, positive review.
Positives - hotel, grounds, staff, pool, pool entertainment, excursion planning, booking car, beach is nearby ( wear beach shoes as it’s pebbly), free to use sun loungers at beach and poolside, rooms are spotless, brought kettle to our room at our request, good free WiFi, poolside is spotless, good storage for luggage if leaving after check out Negatives- isolated so you need to hire a car to get anywhere, no shops nearby so you can’t buy extra drinks or snacks, the food - limited in variety and choice, often only warm, drinks are expensive if you’re on half-board, you have to purchase water at dinner, no tea / coffee facilities in the room, you need to ask for a kettle, water should be freely available at all locations in hotel/poolside,
Beautiful grounds and pool. Beach disappointing, but quiet. Music every evening went on too late, near hotel rooms. Breakfast and dinner buffets excellent, but very difficult to get to anywhere else to dine as shuttle returned to hotel at 6pm. Hire car would be useful, but not essential as there are trains and taxis available.
Just returned from a a lovely stay at this hotel, the grounds and pool area are beautiful. The pool is large with plenty of sun beds. The spa is amazing with great views from the terrace which has a fabulous pool. I have noticed one or two reviewers complaining about unfriendly staff but I must say every member of staff we had any contact with were all extremely friendly and helpful, especially the waitresses in the bar who after a couple of evenings remembered our drinks before we placed our order. The location is very remote with no shops or bars within walking distance however there is a shuttle bus daily to Cefalu which costs €10 return.
Beautiful, cozy, clean hotel with excellent staff. Quiet and peaceful however its location is a let down. Very isolated. Get a car or go all inclusive otherwise it will be too expensive for a buffet! Entertainment was a tad dated and somehow boring at the bar. Pool bar was much more livelier. Beach is clean, bring a swimming shoes as it pebbles. No bars or restaurants within walking distance. Shuttle service is not part of the hotel, is chargeable, and not frequent. (Not convenient if you want to go out and explore) Taxi service to Cefalu costs £35 euros! (One way and up to 4 people) And should be booked in advance but very organised and reliable. Pool was great. Generally speaking if you want to go all inclusive, not interested to go out and explore and stay put then it’s perfect. But then you’ll miss out on Cefalu, Palermo and other exciting places.
Stay at Acacia Resort Campofelice di Roccella (Cefalù) I chose this hotel mainly for its beach and sea access – and while I wasn’t completely disappointed, the strong winds during my stay made swimming in the sea less enjoyable than I had hoped. That said, one of the resort’s biggest strengths is its lush greenery – vibrant, exotic, and truly impressive. Although in some areas it could use a bit more care, it definitely adds charm to the overall atmosphere. The hotel is located quite far from everything, which makes it ideal for those seeking peace and quiet. However, anyone hoping to go for a pleasant walk outside the resort might find the surroundings a bit underwhelming. The food was absolutely fantastic – varied, fresh, and full of flavor – and the restaurant staff were kind and attentive. I felt well taken care of throughout my stay. Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups. At check-in, the receptionist twice confirmed that I was on an all-inclusive package and gave me the appropriate wristband, despite my assurances that my booking was half board. I was sent off to wait for my room somewhere on the resort grounds, but shortly afterward, the same staff member began looking for me rather nervously and changed his story. It seemed to me that simply leaving things as they were would have been a more gracious and professional approach. This stay was an extension of a tour, so I wasn’t able to choose the type of room in advance. Unfortunately, I ended up in a pavilion right next to the service area and waste containers. While the surroundings were green and there was a terrace, I couldn’t enjoy it at all due to the large number of birds and the mess they left behind. Even when cleaned once a day – which wasn’t always the case – the terrace would become dirty again within half an hour. I honestly believe this particular room should not be rented out until the issue is resolved. All in all, the resort does have a lot to offer – especially if you’re looking for relaxation, good food, and natural beauty. However, it’s important to consider your expectations carefully and, if possible, clarify room details with the hotel or your travel agency before arrival.
Wonderful resort, with everything you could expect of a 4-star resort in Europe. Rooms are spacious, clean with comfortable bed. Guests are mainly locals, so not too touristy. The restaurant serves both breakfast and dinner buffets, with plenty of options of tasty (both local and international) variations of food. The pool is huge, with both a child friendly part with shallow water, and a part with deeper water, great for swimming etc. Staff is very friendly, polite and makes sure the guests are having a good time. The resort is located 20mins drive from Cefalù, but there is no public transport, so expect to spend some money on transport/taxi if you want to visit the beautiful city of Cefalù. Price for the taxi is 35€ one way, if you book with the Hotel. Local taxis charge 50€ or more. We will definitely be back.
Helt ok hotel. Dyrt me taxi og ca 40 min til nærmeste by.
Where do I start. The hotel is a nice hotel, the grounds surrounding it, really nice, and the restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful. Thats the good points. As soon as we arrived in the hotel reception someone who seemed to be a manager was straight onto us to pay for a so called club card, when asked why, he told us it was for use of the pool. sunbeds, entertainment, use of beach, lifeguards and a few other things, we told him these are all included in the booking price. He then told us there is a tax charge which is normal, but 5euros per night, (we booked for 14 nights) so 70 euros to find out later this was for the club card, so he lied to us on that point, he also asked for us to leave our credit card behind the desk to make sure we pay at the end, his words not mine. We were shown to our room which supposed to have a sea view, there was so much trees blocking the view you just couldn't see anything, the toilet was also dirty and so was the fridge so we asked for another room, which they provided. The beach is absolutely disgraceful. The hotel is so far from any place, 7min taxi ride to a tiny village with hardly any shops etc there at a cost of 20 euros. The next place is a 20min taxi ride away, another 20euro. You will definitely need a hire car. we had no option to upgrade to all inclusive at 2016 euros for 12 nights. The food is not Italian and its so repetitive. and is not very nice, ok if you like pastries, cake, and other rubbish, if you want to eat healthy your in the wrong hotel. Being all inclusive its restricted to certain items. You can have still water but fizzy water you have to pay 3-50 euros for, no drinks after 11-0 clock at night, you have to pay. You can only order a glass of wine etc at a time which is so small they will not allow a bottle. If you want to go and have an early night on your room balcony you will have no chance until after 11-00 o clock, the noise from the entertainment is so loud and its not in any particular room, its in the open and the same in the afternoon, from the pool the music is blasting out. also it was supposed to be a deluxe room, no kettle which I never come across before at a supposedly 4star hotel plus the morning welcome of ants in the bathroom (every morning ) I could go on about this hotel, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, I would refuse to go there if they offered it for free. I have lots of videos but he site will not allow me to upload them, they are videos of the food, ants in the bathroom, the noise etc.
We stayed here for a week and went half board (breakfast and evening meal). The hotel was lovely, open to the outside in most of the common areas. So many plants around the hotel which really gave it the holiday feel. The food was also very good. Breakfast didn't vary too much, other than the local specialities (cakes). The evening meal however did vary and had live cooking of pizzas, pasta and various meats and fish. The desserts were also good with fruit and local cakes. Ice cream was also available to scoop, which we took down to the beach each evening! The room was great, 3rd floor, having a garden view and was quiet. Music was heard in the evenings, but didn't bother us and it didn't go on too late. We also rarely heard people heading back to their rooms (which we worried about being close to the lifts). Air-con in the room was great! The beach and pool were lovely. The pool had shallow and deep areas. Beach was quite stoney. Evening entertainment varied and occurred in two locations each evening. Some additional costs to be mindful of... Room safe €2 per day Beach towel €3 per towel (if washed, another €3) - we brought our own Water at evening meal was not complementary which was a shame and strange as they had free water at breakfast. Drinks were a reasonable price for a resort. Cocktails ranged from €12 - €15. Coke €4. 2 Aldi sided supermarkets were a 5 minute drive up the road. Gym was lacking and not great. Overall the hotel was wonderful and well kept and all the staff were really friendly and attentive. English was well spoken amongst the team.
+ Amazing pool Friendly staff Lovely green garden Our own private terrace (economy terrace room) Good breakfast - Loud and repetative evening entertainment Not the most beautiful beach/clear seawater NEED your own rental car Expensive prices We had a lovely time, but next time we'll go for a place that's located more near a town/restaurants/shops.
Alles super. Ansonsten istdie anlagetraumhaft. Der strand könnte noch schöner angelegt sein.
After spending a week at the Acacia I am very mixed minded!! The bar and restaurant staff are very good and friendly. All inclusive (not really) sit down meals are included but not a small bite to eat like pizza or a sandwich(strange) also you need to pay for bottled water at the bars all you need in 30 degrees The biggest problem for me is that the staff’s kids running around jumping in and out of the pool all day funny to start with but why should you put up with that
This is Italian faulty towers with friendly staff all-inclusive isn't; there are so many weird exceptions; you can't have fizzy water, and they won't turn the air con on until JUNE; regardless of how hot it gets, you can have a 4-course lunch but not a sandwich, it's remote not near anything. even if you arrive at 02:00 nobody can drive to the front gate.
After a long day travelling once we were shown our room we just wanted to relax with a cup of tea on the terrace....just one problem no tea or coffee making facilities in the room!!! For a 4* hotel we have never come across this before! If you wanted an" English breakfast tea" you had to go down to the bar and pay an exorbitant price for it and when it did come the pot with hot water in it didn't even come with a lid!!! The bar prices were terrible €19 for a gin and tonic and Southern Comfort and lemonade (after we had to show them the drinks menu as they had never heard of it)! The hotel itself was very clean, not overall very friendly on reception or in the restaurant. Food was average although mostly cold and not very varied.
Requested balcony that gets afternoon sun. On room allocation, rep checked that balcony got afternoon sun. Oh yes, said reception. On arrival in room, balcony in complete shade. Back down to reception, given another room, same side of the hotel - quelle surprise, in complete shade. Third room a repeat of the other two. Result - very disappointed customer, hotel could not care less, completely ignored room request and/or do not know their rooms.
Very nice place with exellent service, good food, clean and comfortable room. Swimming polo was clean as the baech. The only problem was the transportation to the Cefalu. The shattle bus should be available not only twice a day but every one or two houres.
I have stayed in many 4/5 star hotels around the world and this hotel didn't quite meet the criteria of such a rating. The hotel was chosen by our tour company, not myself and I wouldn't have stayed due to the isolated location. As once we checked in all the hotel was interested in was making more money from it's customers. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings with a relaxing area around the pool, the life guard was either on their phone or smoking. I didn't manage to explore the other amenities, due to tour. The bedroom was reasonable for the duration of my stay. Although in place some TLC was required. There was no tea/coffee making facilities. Reception staff explained that they couldn't provide a kettle. I've never experienced this before in any hotel around the world that I have stayed in. My side of the hotel was in shade most of the day, so I didn't get the opportunity to sit on the balcony. I only had a sheet over my bed compared to my other travel companions. I requested and received a single thin blanket for a double bed, which made no difference. The bathroom was reasonably equipped, although I had a cardboard cup for use in the bathroom and usually there is larger dispensers for shampoo etc, not small bottles. Many hotels indulge guests with pre dinner drinks at a reasonable prices, not in this hotel where drinks were over priced. The cusine at breakfast/dinner was standard/repetitive. There were not many healthy options, everything most were in syrup or had been deep fried or in pastry. Thank goodness for the salads. I was saddened that I couldn't have a warm drink of tea after diner and on a few occasions had to pay and it was presented in a cardboard cup! There was a cash machine in a relaxing area, which spoilt the ambience should have been placed in the reception area. I hope the management take on the contuctive feed back, as the hotel could be more comfortable for its customers.
I stayed at the Acacia Resort for a week with my girlfriend. What can I say, fantastic experience, helpful staff ready to satisfy any request, amazing and typical food. the strong point is definitely the swimming pool, I have never seen such a beautiful and well-kept swimming pool. recommended experience. I have traveled a lot in Sicily and this is definitely the best holiday. highly recommended
This hotel is quite isolated which is very disappointing for those who wish to go out for a meal or for a drink in the day. Prices at the hotel are quite high and rooms do not have a kettle supplied, so if you want a coffee when its not breakfast you have to buy from the bar. You also need to take a taxi if you want to visit a supermarket which is 10 euros each way and obviously adds to the cost. But supermarket prices are very cheap for wine etc. The room was comfortable and clean, and on the whole staff are friendly. The pool area is lovely and relaxing with plenty of sunbeds so we had no difficulty finding places throughout the stay. The beach is a bit "rough around the edges" but the sea was lovely to swim in. We found the food choice repetitive, especially over a 2 week stay. Most of the warm food was not as hot as we like it and we were disappointed with the choices on a few evenings. The breakfasts were particularly poor. 2 cereals to chose from and I think the milk was sour on one morning. There also seems to be a shortage of cereal bowls. Most mornings as we had to wait for clean bowls to be bought from the kitchen. Bacon and eggs were usually cold as were the potatoes and beans. On two mornings the water for tea from the boiler was just tepid. Although hot water could be taken from the coffee machine. We would advise you to take a travel kettle and your own beach towels as the hotel towels are 3 euros for every change. A week stay here is long enough. However, we won't return due to the above remarks, (isolated location and food issues) but the hotel probably suits some, especially those who are happy not to explore beyond the hotel. I feel this is a fair reflection of our experience at Acacia Resort and hope it will help some when making their choice of hotel for a holiday
Very comfortable room in a resort that looks like heaven. Everything is perfectly curated, the swimming pool in the garden is pure magic, the spa on the rooftop is even more, the buffet at the restaurant is one of the best of my life. If you want to experience the true meaning of relaxation, I highly recommend!!
This Hotel Does Not Deserve Its 4 Stars. Upon my arrival, I was assigned a room on the ground floor, which was old and clearly not renovated. The room was in terrible condition: dirty, with limescale everywhere, and the bathroom was a mess, including a leak in the bidet that flooded the floor. I requested to change rooms, but I was told to come back the next day. When I returned, they tried to tell me that no other rooms were available. After insisting that I didn’t feel safe in the room and that it was unacceptable, they suddenly found another room but required an additional payment of 300 euros, which I understood ! The buffet was a disaster. Being in Sicily, I expected to enjoy local specialties, but the buffet offered the same food every day, all cold and tasteless. The pasta was cold, and the food was inedible. Additionally, the housekeeping staff was extremely loud, talking loudly in the halls early in the morning. They entered my room without knocking, even when I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. This behavior is unacceptable and poses a serious security issue. Furthermore, I found it unprofessional that the staff asked for my phone number and my Instagram account, which seemed unnecessary and intrusive. The reception staff were particularly rude and lacked basic courtesy. They didn’t ask how I was feeling or inquire about my stay, nor did they offer any greetings or farewells—nothing at all. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable. When I was about to leave, I requested an extension of a few hours due to my late flight. I was told I could stay in my room for an additional 70 euros, but on the day of my departure, several staff members knocked on my door, telling me to vacate the room. This lack of internal communication caused me unnecessary stress. The hotel is in a deplorable state, far from everything, and it does not deserve its 4 stars at all. This establishment is old, poorly maintained, and the service is far below the standards one would expect from a hotel of this rating. They may respond to this review with excuses, but this is the reality of my experience. Everyone I spoke to shared similar frustrations. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.❌
Hidden charges- water, safe and towels.
A two part review. Pros - a large hotel with great infrastructure, lovely rooms, first class friendly service, huge pool, amazingly clean and superb attractive gardens. Cons - the food was mass catering, buffet style, edible but bland and not especially well presented. The beach was truly horrible. Very pebbly, seriously uncomfortable to walk on, painful to get into the sea and not very attractive to sunbathe on (although beds around the pool were plentiful and comfortable. Pool side bar and toilets were not up to standard. The hotel is some distance from any village or attractions so a car is needed although the hotel does provide a shuttle service to Palermo and Cefalu. Also there were day trips arranged by the hotel. A decent chef and a bulldozer to the beach are essential to make this a stand out hotel worthy of all 4 stars.
Resort has loud music until midnight every night so don’t plan on sleeping until after midnight. Every day loud announcers at the pool over the speakers and music is played so loud there is no way to relax. The food is awful which is so sad because Sicily is known for good food. We ended up taking a taxi into town for dinners but taxis are only available until 10pm and have to be pre arranged so it’s not convenient. So you have to get back from dinner by 10pm or you are stuck. Two massages at the spa were awful they are not well trained or experienced. The spa itself was pretty but the loud announcing and loud speaker from the pool again makes it where it’s hard to relax. Facilities were clean and nice.
The pool is the best thing about this resort. I could hardly get out of it!
drinks to expensive at the pool bar and not many restaurants and stuff to do around
Eigentlich schade.
We enjoyed our weekend visit. Enough cannot be said for the hospitality, kindness and professional staff. We truly enjoyed the pool. Breakfast had lots of options. Housekeeping, Front desk, spa, and restaurant very professional and friendly. We will try to return.
I was actually so satisfied that i send my own parents over, 1 weeks after my stay. Awesome surroundings, good layout, comfy rooms, outstanding kitchen and staff. Pool guards so so, not well informed about amenities.
Sono stata all Acacia Resort con mio marito, ci siamo trovati molto bene . Torneremo presto
bellissimo resort, personale gentilissimo e location da sogno!
We really enjoyed our stay at thought the rooms and public spaces were excellent. The pool was nice with plenty of sun beds and a nice feel. There is a large garden and a reasonably sized private sand / stony beach with plenty of beds. There are a couple of downsides the first was the quality of the bar staff who I thought delivered slow and poor service. Even more surprising given the price of the drinks a small beer was 4 euro and a gin and tonic 7 euro. The second downside is the location as apart from a few local hotels and a small café there is nothing in walking distance. We knew this before we booked so was not a surprise however I would recommend a car if you want to get out and about.
We had a very relaxed and enjoyable week at the Hotel following a hectic but very enjoyable 3 week tour of the Island. The staff were all nice and helpful and the food good. The strange thing about the bill costs at the end of the stay was the apparent initial levy on the credit card of a 20 euro deposit on a guests receipt of each pool towel and a 3 Euro charge per pool towel each time it was exchanged at the end of a day--so you could end up with a 21 euro addition on your bill for a 7 day stay per towel/person.The deposit was removed from the bill once the Hotel received the final return of the towel.
Hotel is most definitely not beach front! The beach was all rocky and lots of trash all around. The hotel is not a full service hotel either...if you don't have all inclusive they refuse to help you find a restaurant. Rooms are really small for a 4 star! The pool area is fantastic but when you have a week at a resort with your family you need more than that..you can't walk anywhere either because the surrounding area is pretty rundown. We had a good time anyway.
