The Resident Liverpool

The rooms are decorated beautifully, with muted, natural colours and grey furniture. I appreciated the thoughtful design touches, including the Paul Smith lamp, the Molton Brown beauty products and the thick, heavy towels (four of them, even though I was travelling alone). I requested a quiet room, and they took that request seriously. My room was blissfully quiet, and I could even switch off the air conditioning. I slept so deeply and so well, which was a genuine blessing. The room was spotlessly clean, and the added bonus of a small kitchenette was a fabulous bonus. The location is a fifteen-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street Station and surrounded by bars, restaurants and shops. Security wasn't just a line on the features page, either: the Security Guard asked for our name and room number when we arrived late at night. Housekeeping was handled by Success, whose smile alone made my day, though her gentle manner and professionalism didn't go unnoticed either. Then there were Jess, Maria, Harry, and Algida at the front desk: warm, informative, unobtrusive, efficient, and knowledgeable. They have mastered the art of hospitality (and you've got to love a strong Liverpudlian accent!). I was also charmed by the little card left in my room, a gentle reminder that at The Resident you are a person, not just a booking number. I loved this place!

My only gripes are minor. There was a complete absence of lactose-free milk and decaffeinated coffee, though I always travel with my own decaf, so it wasn't too bad (just black coffee)😎. And, ironically, in my super-quiet room, one floorboard squeaked every time I walked on it, no matter how hard I tried to avoid it! It would also be nice to be able to turn off the light above the kitchenette sink and to have a USB-C plug, but now I'm just being picky. Otherwise, nothing to complain about.

The room was full of beds so it was difficult to move around it. I had beforehand asked for a large double, but got two twins and a put me up - so a family room? so completely ignored my request despite confirming they could accommodate it.

The welcome and ambiance on arrival. The staff were fantastic from the get go. We were too early but they took our bags which we found in our nice clean rooms on return for check in. I'm missing my room already! Facilities were second to none. Microwave, coffee machine cutlery..not just any..state of the 🎨

That i couldn't dine there and just stay in my beautiful room. No restaurant..awe..but there were plenty restaurants in the vicinity to be fair..

Staff are outstanding. The property was exceptional for the price. The location is fabulous. This is a bustling and vibrant area of Liverpool, but the property has excellent soundproofing and retains a calm ambience inside.

I really liked the hotel. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The facilities were great. There was a kettle, a coffee machine, a microwave, fridge, iron and hairdryer. The bathroom had Molten Brown shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion. The staff were very helpful and pleasant and the location was spot on. There are lots of restaurants and bars locally but the hotel was quiet and secure as you use your room key card to enter and use the lift. I would definitely book this hotel again.

Great location, friendly staff, nice touch of a card on arrive, good facilities, excellent value for money. The manager has definitely got it right. This is one of the best hotel I have stayed in and for the price of was excellent. one that will stay in my mind for every stay in Liverpool.

The room was a little rough around the edges in places due to cleanliness but it was still an 8/10 overall for cleanliness.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Resident Liverpool. The hotel was lovely, clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was just as we hoped. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

worst hotel bed i have ever slept on

the layout of the room was very efficient. i wouldn't want to stay there more than a night or two because there was only one chair, but it was perfect for our one-night stay. bathroom was roomy. heater/a/c was adjustable. window opened enough to get some fresh air. staff helpful with suggesting places to eat and visit. it was a simple/easy check-in. we left out bags for several hours before check-in and when we finally arrived back at the hotel, they had kindly already moved our bags to the room.

could not read the labels on the shampoo/conditioner/soap containers because it was a metal label engraved with the words. the lighting in the bathroom was not condusive to that type of setup and the font was so small that i had to go back out and get my glasses and even that didn't help much. one of the labels in our shower was upside down ;(

This was my second time staying at The Resident, coming back given how good the hotel was the first time! The location of the property is so close to everything in the city centre making it a great place to stay. The staff are also a testament to the hotel, very friendly and always happy to help! We have stayed many times and The Resident Liverpool never disappoints for a Sunday night stay. Amazing value for money, great location and very nice helpful staff. The Happy Hour is also a real bonus!

Apparently the hotel offer complimentary drinks Sunday to Thursday. We stayed Friday to Monday, 10 adults celebrating an anniversary. No one advised us of this service which we found very disappointing. I feel this should have been made clear at check in .

The location was perfect…!!! You were recommended by friends of ours who regularly stay with you. I’ve got South African family coming over in October so I booked two rooms with you for the 20th August this year.

This is a fantastic hotel in a very lively part of Liverpool. The reception staff are exceptional. They are fun polite and very helpful with suggestions on what to do and where to go. The rooms are fantastic very comfortable bed lovely bathroom. We had a great weekend and would definitely go back. Excellent- well done!

Everything was spot on, apart from the shower temperature. It could have been a bit warmer.

The location is superb located right in the heart of the "Nightlife" area with lots of bars and eating options. Yet it's still a straightforward walk down to the riverfront and dock area. The bathroom soaps, lotions and shampoos are all excellent high quality Moulton and Brown products.

The excellent high quality bathroom shampoos are sadly very poorly labelled. They are in very "classy" pump action wall mounted containers with a chrome plated etched label. However the font is tiny and there's no contrast so the letting is very difficult to read. I needed the torch on the phone to identify which was soap, conditioner, lotion etc! Also the "shower in a bath " set up needs a non-slip bathmat. No problem to get one when requested but really should be readily available already in the bathroom.

The room was a lovely size and it was great to have a selection of teas and a coffee machine. Great black out blinds and the room was nicely air conditioned. Comfy bed and super clean!

Between the hotel and booking.com there was a difference in check out times which was a shock.

Everything. On arrival staff were so friendly and professional, nothing too much trouble. Lifts were quick and clean up to rhe room. The room was lovely, cool and clean. Location was superb, within 10-15 minutes of all attractions, shops and restaurants.
