West Beach Hotel Brighton

It was quirky and an amazingly comfortable bed and pillows. Great sea view and excellent room and breakfast. Really friendly reception and breakfast staff. 19/10

Looks a bit run down from the outside

Excellent location and we paid for an upgrade to a seafacing room and the view was spectacular. The room was large and comfortable. As you are right on the promenade this hotel is perfectly placed for long walk or runs along the beachfront. There are good restaurants around and you are within walking distance of the main rail station and most of the city sights.

We had breakfast included, but it was only a continental breakfast of cereals and a variety of breads. Every thing was packed out on one bench which made the flow a bit difficult with other guests waiting for the toaster or the coffee machine.

Clean and quiet

We had one of the private rooms on the front, and the view was excellent. Breakfast was very decent, with lots of cereal and toasted options. They make toasties to order, which were delicious. The staff were really nice and accommodating.

Some fruit would be nice at breakfast. The bathroom could do with an uplift. We struggled to get hot water in the evening, but it was ok in the morning. There was an unusual smell on one side of the bed. We only stayed one night, so I didn't bother to bring it up with the staff.

The noise above my room, 111. It was like furniture was being moved and heavy, constant footsteps from 6.30am!

The location was great . On the seafront but a short walk to the shops , lanes and restaurants They offered gluten free options at breakfast which was great for my daughter

The hotel is located right on the sea front and is within walking distance of the station. I was in a standard mini room but had plenty of space, the room was well stocked with towels, tea/coffee and a fan. Although my room looked out onto the street, there wasn't much noise during a mid-week stay at the end of Summer. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. This place was well worth it for the price!

Everything was great, great interior design, great location, friendly staff but rubbish breakfast… If you want any protein in your breakfast you’d be better off with a McMuffin, other than that though the place was genuinely nice

No air con, mould in the bathroom, shower red hot unable to use, lack of general maintenance to the whole of the property, it looked very run down, hotel was unclean, so called continental breakfast was poor, we paid a lot of money for a really poor experience.

Room was a bit smaller than I expected from the photos, e.g. the photos showed a sofa and desk and a table overlooking the sea with long low windows. My room did not have any of that. Also, there were signs of damp on one of the walls.

Fiquei em um quarto com 4 camas e dividi um banheiro. A estadia foi muito tranquila, quarto limpo e espaçoso, banheiro grande, e fornecem toalhas. Equipe bastante solícita ao perguntar sobre informações da cidade e da praia.

Di positivo sicuramente la colazione, che abbiamo apprezzato, e soprattutto la posizione, ideale per chi vuole soggiornare vicino al mare. La struttura è ben collegata alla stazione tramite un comodo autobus che percorre il lungomare e impiega circa 10 minuti. Il famoso molo si raggiunge invece in circa 15 minuti a piedi.

La camera era spaziosa, ma purtroppo poco funzionale: c’era un solo piccolo tavolino come punto d’appoggio e al muro un appendiabiti con soli due posti. Segnalo inoltre l’assenza di aria condizionata, un aspetto che in agosto può essere particolarmente importante e che potrebbe non essere dato per scontato al momento della prenotazione. È presente un ventilatore, ma nei periodi molto caldi risulta poco efficace. Il bagno presenta alcuni problemi: la doccia non scaricava correttamente l’acqua e il lavabo è davvero molto piccolo, come si può intuire anche dalle fotografie. Anche la pulizia non era impeccabile, soprattutto per quanto riguarda la polvere, un aspetto da considerare con attenzione per chi soffre di allergie. È un vero peccato, perché la struttura ha un’idea di presentazione molto carina e, con interventi davvero semplici, potrebbe aumentare notevolmente il livello di comfort e la qualità complessiva del soggiorno.

Amazing location, room was absolutely beautiful, dropped our luggage off earlier in the day and staff had taken it to our room ready for check in, drinks available in the lobby

The room was lovely and spacious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The location is great but as you're right near the buzz of the bars etc it can be loud. We didn't think about this when we booked but it didn't ruin our stay as the proximity to the beach was perfect. It wouldn't stop us from coming back.

Friendly front of house staff. Felt safe. Nice relaxed atmosphere and surprisingly quiet at night. Locker was nice and big. Good shower. I liked the Breakfast - it was good value.

Despite check out time being 11am the chap changing the beds etc made me feel really awkward from much earlier. I couldn’t fully use the room as I’d wanted to during the final hour or so. He also blocked the bathroom when I needed to use it - twice (first time he seemed to be sitting in there having a break, not cleaning) A minor niggle - I wasn’t given an option of a lower bunk which would’ve been much better for me (due to my age and always needing loo during the night)

The location is good, I could see the sea from our window. The staff is really kind. You have a personal locker in the room.

You should put a chair to the room because who has the top bunk can sit their more comfortably.

The warm greeting,had the Brighton feel about it, ample room to leave luggage before arrival time,we had a sea view, absolutely amazing views, didn't want to leave the room,!!! you won't be disappointed in any way booking a stay here ,Manager so helpful the staff , cleaners, amazingly clean!!! All terrific,the best stay ever in Brighton 😁

Not stayed in a shared dorm room for over 30 years. It was a great. Super friendly reception, felt secure, big lockers for each bunk. Clean, comfy beds with curtains. Liked Everything!

Only there for 1 night but I have no complaints

Super sødt personale. Dejligt stort værelse med god udsigt. Virkelig hyggelig stemning på hotellet. Fantastisk beliggenhed med få minutters gang ned til vandet. Vil helt sikkert anbefale andre at bo der.

I loved the staff (super friendly), really liked my room with its view of the old pier from a side window and it had everything I need. Good tea making facilities always make me happy and nice white towels. Bed was perfectly comfy.

I'd have liked a small fridge and a larger, normal sized sink. It's noisy, but that's always the case with the busiest parts of Brighton.

Bathroom was dirty and the duvet had a massive mark on it . We booked a late check out for 2pm . We had someone banging on the door at 11.50 .ask us to come to the door. We explained we had late check out and was still in bed . But continued to ask us to come to the door Then at around 13.15 . I was in bed partner was in the bathroom and the housekeeper which was a young lad . Just let himself in . I explained we had a late check out again and he just stood there . I had to ask him to leave . The whole experience of staying at this hotel was not nice and when we asked to speak to the manager he was 25 and did not know what to say or do

a great start as the check in staff was fantastic. Andrew was so lovely and friendly ! our room was cozy and comfortable too. had a super cool seaview of the old West pier and the i360 on the 3rd floor. really nice artwork around the lobby and building. they provided a fan for keeping cool as it did get warm on the higher floor. sadly the only photo I got was a rushed one of the view from one of our room windows. breakfast we had included, it was continental and good quality. the lovely lady made me a toastie too ! location was great for accessing the seafront and making your way to the lanes and the palace pier. also a simple walk from the station as we travelled by train. overall it was really nice and calming for our 2nd anniversary and we most likely will be returning in the future. thank you to all west beach staff !!

wished there was a TV in our room to watch before bed but it wasn't a deal breaker at all. just be weary if you keep the windows open its VERY loud from the road outside - not a fault of hotel, just keep in mind. lift was a little old but did the job and it does have signs for 2 people max at one time.

It was basic but very comfortable. Staff were welcoming. Room was clean and spacious.

Unfortunately our room was on the sea front. Whilst it had great views it was extremely noisy particularly early morning when refuse and other trucks arrived making a din. If we stay again I will opt for a room at the rear of the hotel!

Very cozy and friendly

We had a great stay at West Beach Hotel in Brighton - I had seen some negative reviews online so was a bit skeptical, but from the moment we arrived we felt really at home. The reception staff were super friendly and made checking in a breeze, and the room was really airy and light. It was a really reasonable price for a night (about 30% cheaper than everything else out there) but was really a perfect loction right across the beach and about 20 mins from Brighton station. Would recommend!

Cheap and cheerful. You get what you pay for. Location is great. Room was clean and shower worked well. Comfy bed.

If you have the windows open at night, and if it's hot, you will have, it's very loud outside till late and then again early morning. A fan was provided and was large and loud. Even on full beans, the breeze it generated would not have made a tissue flutter. Perhaps it was actually a white noise machine to mask the noise from below. As I said though, it was cheap, so...

We stayed when the weather was really hot and our room didn’t have have any mechanical ventilation nor could we keep the windows open because of the street is really noisy.
