Schönes altes Herrenhaus….
Ruhige Lage
Dachzimmer ohne Aufzug
Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and overlooked the garden.
Nothing
Der Blick vom Zimmer und vom Frühstücksraum. Traumhafte Palmen.
Clean and well kept
Overpriced for standard of accommodation
Balgeddie House Hotel is set in a nice location with beautiful gardens at the rear of the property. Using the swimming pool and steam room was a bonus. Full Scottish breakfast was lovely with lots of other options from the self service area. Our room was huge as was the bed which was comfy too. We enjoyed our stay and would return again. Good value for money.
The view from the room was the car park which was unfortunate because the gardens were so nice and we would have been happy to experience that. Tea and coffee facilities in the room were not replenished after day 1which was a shame because it's nice to make yourself a hot drink first thing in the morning and when you return from a day out.
Restaurant served nice food and the rear garden was a lovely outlook.
Hotel is in a built up residential area and Google maps led us asray. The room we were allocated was up 4 sets of stairs and very hot in the 'attic'. We lugged our suitcases up as no lift and for international travellers staying for 1 night, this was not ideal and we hated that the staff said no elevator for 'those rooms'. There are dogs allowed on second floor which is fine, but we were shoved on top floor with no offer to assist with our luggage, so 4 flights up. The 'spa' is basically a pool with a steam room and sauna and no hot tub/jacuzzi. The hot tub was all we wanted to relax our tired muscles, so not great. The bathroom in room are small and old with a shower in the bath which I dislike. The dining tables did not display a menu or wine list and we had to ask for this for dinner but most restaurants have this on the table.
The Victorian style Hotel is beautiful in every aspect, I loved the opened landscape on the back, it's totally my kind of vibe. The staff was exceptional, Joanne in the reception is such a sweet person, very welcoming and accommodating. The restaurant and bar staff absolutely fantastic as well. Spa side of it also amazing, decent sized swimming pool nice sauna and steam room.
Only a couple of things, the food itself was super basic and a bit overpriced. There was nothing on the menu apart from the steak that was appealing to eat, it felt like pub food and in terms of taste and presentation just didn't meet the 'nice' standard for us. For me prices should always reflect quality and the quality of the food from 1 to 10 was a 5. The other thing was the mattress in the room was too soft, i guess the hotel still has the old style spring mattresses which are a bit uncomfortable. But I would definitely come back for the spa experience.
The house staff were efficient and friendly and resolved some problems with the bedding with grace and speed.
The bar staff could do with some better training. They didn't know anything about whiskeys, in Scotland!
We stay here as it’s near family in Glenrothes and it’s dog friendly (they have a cat so we can’t stay with them) and it is very close to them. Every time we have stayed here the staff can’t do enough for us, they welcome our dog so much. It has all we need and a lovely atmosphere.
The only slight thing I might say is that some bits of our room could do with a bit of an update but it doesn’t bother me because of everything else.
Nice clean, comfortable hotel

Location
Great base to start exploring Scotland. Breakfast was huge. Evening meal was lovely. My partner had fish & I had the burger topped with haggis.
Bacon a little undercooked and the sausage tasted like a supermarket brand, not locally sourced as I would have expected.
The staff. The food
The rain
Really convenient location, lovely setting, comfy room, easy check in and check out, friendly staff, easy to park’
Staff are amazing and so helpful, we always stay here when in Glenrothes
Bar prices ,£14 for a small bottle of prosecco is higher than average
The staff were very welcoming, especially Lynn the Receptionist. The room was comfortable and near the lift. We had dinner the first night. The main course was Ok but the dessert was first-class.
In the room, the carpet needs a thorough cleaning in some areas.. There are long-standing stains which require attention. The leather on the two chairs in the room is very badly cracked and requires attention or the chairs replaced.
Lovely hotel in quiet setting though no lift
No lift and was put on 3rd floor with dog who has arthritis
Schönes Hotel in altem Gutshaus, große Zimmer, gepflegte Außenanlage, ruhige Lage, freundliches Personal
Clean
I liked the interior of the hotel, was clean and freah
That the heating did not work left me stone cold for a while night untill I got a crazy heater, food was not cooked properly at breakfast
Lovely friendly staff, easy to get to. Lovely grounds. Swimming pool was clean and well maintained, the changing rooms were very good. The hotel was well placed for easy access all over Fife
The carpet on the main staircase to the 2nd floor was very worn and looked dangerous
The staff are brilliant and the cooked breakfast is great.
Our room could have been improved. It was supposed to be a deluxe room but the shower made an awful noise, couldn't get hot water from sink, decoration was poor and it could have been cleaner.
Nice location; and nice environment
My room was too hot: with no apparent way to turn down/off heating. Continental Breakfast was very limited re choice and variety. Not even a toaster for the available bread.
Delicious food. Comfortable rooms. Lovely grounds.
Our room faced onto the carpark and the function suite where there was a party and a lot of noise outside 11pm+. You would expect that but it kept me awake until the last of the revellers got in their taxi, which was frustrating.
A period hotel tucked away in secluded grounds. Lovely gardens and very quiet location. Bar, restaurant and breakfast all very good - honest home cooked meals and good service to match. The rooms were large in period style. Comfortable but not overly modern whcih suited the property and felt quite grand!
Attracts a very mixed clientele - from construction workers to tourists and passing professionals. And the smell of the chlorine form the swimming pool was reaching the main hotel and even into my bathroom window.
The location and grounds. easy access to Formothill for an early morning walk. The leisure facilites were clean and free for guests including the exercise classes. This hotel has so much potential if it made some minor upgrades and more attention to detail.
Limited choice of breakfat for the price ie just cheap sliced bread, no sourdough, no greek yogurt just pots of fruit yogurt. Coffee cups and pots need to go in the dishwasher again. Lacking atmosphee at both breakfast and evening dinner. The carpet up to the room was threadbare so a trip hazard. Room was tired, very old fashioned and did have signs of wear and tear ir stains on carpet, dirty window frames, shower curtain rather than screen etc
Every person on the staff is a major asset to this hotel. everyone had a ready smile, a friendly greeting and time for a little chat. The receptionist went out of her way to ensure that we had a double room. A bartender delivered a map to our room, These tasks were carried out with good humour in spite of an already busy schedule. The terrace is a luxury opening on to a garden which incorporates wild and cultivated areas. Tall trees around the perimeter add to a sense of seclusion. Custard tarts at breakfast with coffee were a treat. Dinner was very good. The building is an architectural gem. loved the tea making facility and biscuits in the room
In spite of everyone's best efforts, I felt that the water used for making the tea was not quite at boiling point and that the porridge might have been creamier. Disappointed with room which was in the attic, I did not notice a room like this on the Booking.com website, I'm afraid. Staircase to the attic rooms was narrow and the carpet was frayed. Flushing apparatus in w.c. was awkward and might be a source of embarrassment for guests sharing a room.
Good location
Some of the food was just heat up from frozen and when had cheese with grapes the grapes were frozen solid inedible and shouldn't have been given like that could've caused food poisoning and they were very early at closing the bar which was not stated when booked altogether overpriced for what we got
Lovely old building, our room was big with a huge bed. Some elements of the room a little tired. Breakfast was ok. Staff very welcoming and friendly.
Amazing setting. Lovely grounds. Cannot fault the staff. Bed was so comfortable.
Nothing
Lovely period property and beautiful large garden. We were upgraded to the honeymoon suite which was large, very well appointed and overlooked the garden.
Nothing. We had an excellent overnight stay.
Viel britisches Flair. Extrem freundliches Personal.
Zustellbett hätte bequemer sein können.
Staff were excellent could do enough thankyou to you all
I didn't enjoy the food, tried breakfast I would say it was very poor ,tried dinner twice scampi was nice first time, then tried the curry really bad my daughter was actually sick with second mouth full. Seemed like the curry sauce was from a jar could taste the grit pricey too for in my opinion cheap ingredients. I have been to this hotel on a few occasions but since it has been taken over I wouldn't book again unless I had the car to eat elsewhere. Is
booked an overnight stay + breakfast but had to leave earlier than breakfast time to catch flight so cannot comment. The hotel is situated in beautiful grounds, had a lovely evening drink in the gardens, Room was a little small up in the roof area but did not feel claustrophobic, Asked for a quiet room it was.
Possibly , a cold breakfast that can be served myself. ie cereal, toast coffee available for early leavers but did not really bother me to much
Beautiful hotel, staff were very helpful and attentive.
Food quality.
Personnel accueillant
Good location Nice building and gardens
Food was so so Guinness was poor
Very helpful staff, lovely surroundings and very comfortable bed
Nothing
Lovely room and spa good for a 3star hotel
Price good for time of year.
Room had 3 buckets on the window with a large sheet placed on top of them, no idea why they were there, Bar closes at 10:30 pm bar staff told us that we could order drink through the night porter, night porter declined and said against hotel policy to serve drinks to people staying in the hotel. There wear at least 10 people wishing to stay in the bar but went to bed instead.
Homely. Beautiful building! Great staff..efficient; warn, friendly! Great food! Relaxing environment! Comfortable rooms!
Everything was wonderful!
The room was spacious and comfortable. All the staff are warm, welcoming and friendly. the food is great, we ate there 3 x - good varied menu choices, excellent wine and quality of food at great prices. The steak and venison were very tasty and healthy. The leisure facilities are excellent - a brilliant gym and pool and weren't too busy. The location is v good too, we did a lovely walk right outside the hotel into the countryside, using well maintained footpaths.
it's all great.
No cushions in the bedroom !
There could have been muesli and granola on the breakfast buffet.
Been back 3 times in the last 3 months, just back home tonight and again could not fault a single thing! The staff are excellent. Dale even came up to the room and he helped us down stairs with the bags to the car, a true asset to the hotel. I could never stay anywhere again when coming back to my homeland... thank you from out hearts. Anni, Stuart and Percy
Welcoming reception team. Room 231 exceptional. Cleaning forgotten 2 days out of 9 days. Pool exceptionally clean. Accessible family changing room. Lift does not serve all rooms. Wanted to book for 2027. Paid £1100 this time. Qoute for same period next year £3000. This was our last visit. Too dear next year.
Good location, peaceful and quiet
Waiting 3hours for room to be ready
Fin trädgård och trevlig personal i restaurangen. God mat
The room was a good size. The aesthetics of the building, outside and inside, is nice. The back lawn is lovely, but could do with a little TLC. The staff were very alternative and friendly.
The lounge felt crammed with tables and chairs, and didn’t feel relaxing. The tables and chairs did not reflect the quality of the building. The restaurant could do with a little bit of TLC, an example could be to use table covers over the tables to make the room look a bit more premium, and it is sad to see condiments in plastic sachets rather than offered in ceramic wear… little things make the difference between a cafe and a restaurant The outdoor area with the lawn is an asset, so the tables & chairs should reflect this. The current ones are tired
Staff are excellent, breakfast is first class, freshly cooked to order. Stayed here before highly likely I will again.
We love this hotel, lovely staff, clean and comfortable.
The staff, i.e., Robert ( the barman) & Sophie (done everything).
We do i start! Has to been up there in my top 3 worst hotels, unfortunately 😕. Paid for a deluxe room was given room 207 ( this room should be close to the public until probably cleaned)! The smell from the moment u entered the room was so overwhelming that I had to leave the hotel for fresh air! We got our room swapped, thankfully, but the standard of the room was shocking, wallpaper hanging of wall, bathroom ceiling paint flaking off! Hotels need a refurbishment. Would have left on arrival if we hadn't paid upfront.
The staff were very friendly and tried hard to please. Breakfast was included and very good with a good choice of continental and cooked foods. All served promptly with a smile.
Room was in need of refurbishment and a deep clean.
Excellent spacious room in quiet area

Eigenlijk alles! Mooie omgeving, goede faciliteiten, lekker eten.

Location, Scottish charm, friendly staff, view, good food, occasional bagpipes for weddings!!
No WiFi It’s advertised and access codes are given but in reality there is no connection. This has happened with two guests (for the entirety of two stays) I have referred to this hotel and it’s quite inconvenient.
Location and the lovely view from the window . Staff were lovely and breakfast was fab
Nothing
Felt like it was remote and peaceful despite being in the middle of a housing estate
Clean
Room was on the second floor with no lift. Also dated and very hot.
Swimming Pool and Location
Breakfast facilities and staff attention to detail
Can’t fault anything
Perfect for us
All good
Staff very friendly and attentive

My husband and I stayed at the Belgaddie Hotel for 4 nights. We feel we had the best room in the hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. There was enough space for a couple of comfortable lounge chairs as well as a dining table and chairs to accommodate 4 people. The bathroom facilities were amazing with a corner bath separate shower. The whole team in the hotel from housekeeping to front of house staf were very helpful, professional and friendly. It was a true home away from home. This made our experience very relaxing and enjoyable. I really didn't want to leave. Keep up the great work you're all truly amazing people.
Location for the area we were visiting was excellent.
Our room was on the top floor and extremely hot, having no air conditioning. We got a fan which helped a little. Having no lift it became tedious climbing the stairs to the 2nd floor. Also the last set of stairs looked as though it was the least cared for part of the hotel having a carpet that might come away from it's gripper at any point.
We always stay here on family visits to Glenrothes Very reliable homely hotel Location quiet
We have no complaints
Staff helpful and friendly
Breakfast poor (continental), cooked is better
I really enjoyed the saunas, steam room and pool, also loved the beer garden
Noise level - fair enough there was wedding and was Saturday but getting woke up to people returning to there rooms 2am making racket
Really lovely property, excellent facilities and beautiful grounds. Pool was a bonus
The room was very hot!
room, breakfast, location
Mirror in the room reflected light early morning into the room (205)
Extra public holiday got me thinking about a local overnight, BW Balgeddie House cropped up and did not disappoint. Warm welcome and great boost that spa was open until 2000 really made a great first impression. Powerful showers, steam room and spa were great but my 10 year-old son loved the pool and so did I. As a proud non-swimmer, walking 100 laps twice in the space of 18 hours really puts a spring in your step (take a £1 coin for your locker - it will be returned). Did I also mention that check out is at 1100 and that can use the spa until 1700 that day)? Breakfast was open 0700 to 1000. It was generous and the continental elements (pastries, fruit, cereal etc) were very good. While coffee was weak, the full breakfast was a generous mixed bag (great black pudding, eggs and bacon but basic beans and potato scones) served with a smile. In short, I would return here in a heartbeat and recommend this hotel to all booking.com users
More local signposts to show precise location of hotel, stronger and more plentiful coffee (bed room and breakfast), improved quality of full breakfast ingredients). All very minor things ( local council has to fix signage).
Lovely old country house, full of character. Our room was enormous, lovely comfortable super king bed. Bathroom with separate shower and corner bath. Lovely views over the gardens.
Full breakfast was lovely, but not much choice other than that. Continental breakfast was a bit of a let down with no cheese or meats.
Clean, friendly staff & good food & facilities

Lovely welcome, very friendly staff. Good food. Never had a chance to use the Spa facilities, gym or pool.

A nice hotel in beautiful grounds. My room was quite smal with a single bed but it had what I needed. The breakfast was great.
Breakfast was a pleasant experience with a good
Dogs yapping, stair access only to room highlighted our need to now avoid this,
Pool & Spa-Bereich waren solala.
The pool and steam room and the good service from staff and excellent breakfast.
The staff are delightful and the location was ideal for getting to Falkland. The food in the pub was very good.
The potted plants need a refresh !! Not a good first impression when the potted plants at the front door is dead . The sauna was down which was something we were looking forward to.
Convient!

We had a garden room which was fabulous as meant we could sit outside whilst there. There was also fans in the room for our use.
No fridge
Location only!
This is the worst stay I’ve ever had at Balgeddie and I won’t be returning! We booked two rooms and in both bathrooms the toilets would not flush properly. In the double room, the bathroom was disabled access. This wasn’t an issue, however if you were requiring an accessible bathroom and toilet it was useless! The shower curtains were not easy to slide along the poles and the secondary shower just sprayed all over the bathroom and therefore made the whole floor wet and slippery! Again the toilet did not flush and with any attempt to flush the water just sprayed out of the bowl and all over the floor! The lighting was also appalling, and with the floor being as wet as it was because of the ridiculous set up of the bathroom it was a very hazardous situation to be in! We had to keep drying the floor with one of the towels so not run the risk of slipping. This was a completely unacceptable situation to be in! Our breakfast was utterly disgusting! As said previously, we have been regular customers to Balgeddie over the years and the breakfast was always a highlight. This time, if the food wasn’t burnt to a crisp it was cold! The only positive we can take from the stay is that we only had to stay one night!
Great hotel. Great staff. Would happily stay again

It is well located for the links area.
It is an older style hotel with a mix of old and new rooms. Unfortunately I was in an older room. It was large but dated.
The size of the rooms and the sauna and steam room
Location felt like we were too close to houses

A traditional country house built in 1923, now with modern comforts and tranquil North Glenrothes surroundings.
Expansive gardens and scenic Fife countryside provide a serene backdrop for relaxation.
Enjoy Scottish cuisine in the Brasserie or unwind in the oak-paneled lounge with a selection of malts.
