Good location, a little away from the busyness of the town. Bar area was excellent, welcoming & well stocked. Breakfast was well organised & had a good choice. Staff were incredibly accommodating, polite & efficient
Our main gripe was that it was very difficult to park. We had to park around a mile away on 24 hour council car park. If I'd have known parking was such an issue, I may not have stayed. Also our sea view, although overlooking the sea, wasn't a sea view you could sit & enjoy as the windows were quite high. One other thing was I wish we'd have known we were going to be on the 3rd floor. At 60, we found the 3 flights of stairs tricky with cases etc.
Fab location
Nothing
Great hotel with large comfortable rooms and amazing views. The food options and lively bar are very nice. Really welcoming and comfortable atmosphere.
Location was good right on the Promenade. Easy walk to train station or city centre. Beds were comfortable & staff were very friendly & helpful. Good was excellent

I stayed at the hotel for 1 night whilst dropping my son off for university. The hotel staff were very helpful and the hotel facilities were great, just what I needed after a very long drive! Comfortable and clean rooms, lovely bar area to get some food & drinks and a great location on the sea front.
It was 15min walk to the shops and restaurant and a bit hilly
Just loved everything about my three nights at the Glendower. Beautiful clean room to watch the waves and listen to at night. Lovely food and exceptional staff.
I have no complaints
Great location, friendly staff, excellent breakfast and evening meals.
Third floor room quite small, bathroom ridiculously small mirror and lack of shelving for toiletries. Disappointing to find out we’d paid more than the couple in adjacent room and another lady checking out before us.
The location and the views
The food at the restaurant and the room was quite uncomfortable how the beds were placed. You couldn't open the bathroom door.
So many repeat visits!!!!
Beautiful location right on the ocean. Great restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Beds were great. Nice walk along the promenade. Parking right along the street.
Nothing
Lovely room, very clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of the sea and surrounding area. Excellent breakfast and very professional, informative and friendly staff upon arrival, during our stay, during breakfast and when we were departing.
Nothing to dislike.
Amazing seafront place . Spotless clean, very comfy bed, lovely and helpful staff, delicious breakfast. Highly recommend and if im ever in Aberystwyth- wi stay there again
My room was facing inner yard- so no views, but I booked very late so probably got last available.
Great location, excellent food (breakfast and dinner)
It doesn’t having parking but many car parks close by
Uitzicht op zee!
Meer olek !
The sea views are stunning. And the hotel itself is absolutely lovely.
Nothing to complain about. It was wonderful
Our room was very lovely, bright and quiet, although up lots of stairs! The location of the hotel was fantastic, and the breakfast was generous.
Well positioned near the northern end of the promenade for a peaceful sleep plus fabulous sea views at the waterfront. Lovely bar and dining area, all very clean and well run. Ours was a nice size room on an upper floor with the best sea view for spotting dolphins.
Not much not to like….maybe stairs a bit steep which have small treads for my size 11 feet.
Fantastische accommodatie!

The food and customer service were disappointing. We ordered a chicken wrap and chips, but the chicken did not appear to be fully cooked. We raised this concern, but it did not seem to be communicated to the appropriate staff. When we mentioned it again, the response was dismissive, with staff simply shrugging their shoulders. The chips were poorly presented and the portion was very small. Overall, the food quality and handling of our complaint fell below a reasonable standard. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the restaurant.
Friendly staff throughout our stay. Food at the pub was great, a lovely and warm atmosphere. The terrace outside provided a great view of the beach abd it is a good spot for a drink.
the condition of the room was a major letdown. We stayed in room 32 on the 3rd floor, the lack of lift is to be expected but carry up 3 flights ofcstairs our 2 weeks suicases was hard. The room is in poor shape, feeling very dated with cracked wallpaper and with dirty windows that ruined the seaside view. The bathroom is cramped and difficult to move around in with cracked paint on the ceiling. To top it off, there was only one soft pillow each provided on the bed, and the mattress itself was quite uncomfortable, making for a poor night's sleep. For a 160 pounds I would have expected more.
The hotel is right on the beachfront and our room looked straight out to sea. The staff were all very helpful, even carrying our bags up to our room on the top floor.
A lift would have been very handy.

Lovely pub with rooms above with the most amazing view. The Glengower is perfectly situated on the front in Aberystwyth and our sea view room could not have had a better view. We ate in the pub and the food was excellent and all staff were super friendly. Will definitely be returning
Very clean, accessible, and really friendly staff and customers
Great pub with great service and great food
Accomodations were clean, cozy and comfortable which added to our amazing holiday. Excellent views from our window. Amenities were very thoughtfully put in place like a kettle, sugar, etc. Staff were very helpful and easygoing. Thank you for such a wonderful, relaxing stay!
Everything was perfect. Staff so lovely 🌹😍🌹😍 View incredible ❤️❤️ Bar with great food and delicious breakfast. It was an incredible experience.
Location is fabulous and all very clean and friendly staff
Good location, near cliff railway. Very good breakfast. Nice friendly atmosphere. Free parking at rear.
Bathroom door opened outward colliding into the bed providing little space making it awkward to get in and out of the bathroom.
It was clean and fresh, breakfasts were made from quality ingredients, staff were pleasant and attentive.
Parking was a slight issue in the daytime hours with a maximum of 4hours adjacent to the hotel..
It's in a good location on the seafront, it is a pub aswell on the ground floor but it doesn't cause any noise or disturbance in the room's above, breakfast was fantastic as were the evening meals served in the bar, we had a fantastic 2 night stay 😀
The only downside was no lift we were on the second floor and had to walk up 4 flights of stairs there is 2 flights between each floor. My mobility isn't too good so I struggled abit.
Onze kamer was evenwel achteraan gelegen.
Ive been Glengower quite a few times and the food is tasty but it lacks vegetarian options. I met friends the other day for drinks and they were having food and I just fancied cheesy chips. Simple veggie option. I was told vehemently that that is not an option even though they sell portions of chips and have meals with cheese on. My friend ordered pudding and asked for a bit more custard, they said they might be able to do it, but at more cost. I dont know what the cost would have been as they just walked off. The food is nice but I cant help feeling that this wasn't necessary. We are locals and use these places in the winter and I know there are multiple places that serve what I wanted in Aber, but I just wanted a little veggie snack with friends. They do little goats cheese salads as starters, which are delicious, but are, in my opinion, pricey for how big they are so sometimes you want just a small, cheaper option.
Tolle Lage, nettes Pub und Restaurant, gutes Frühstück.
The location opposite the beach.
Everything. Location is amazing, parking out front on street is free from 8pm to 8am. Room was lovely and clean. Food was amazing as was the breakfast. Staff were lovely.
Cigarette smoke blowing through the window whilst eating a meal. Our table was next to the window, not a major issue but neither if us smoke and outside tables very close to the window.
View from the room!
Lift to bedrooms
Hotel fits the welsh seaside vibe
Breakfast could be a bit more exciting
Great location, good breakfast, friendly staff.
Tap water was not so great for boiling tea
Location and view from Room were fantastic
Parking was not easy
Location and friendly staff Very nice breakfast
Nothing
Lovely hotel and room. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and there was a large choice for breakfast.
The only issue is the parking. There is very limited free parking and restrictions on the seafront parking.
Breakfast was excellent
Being old aged pensioners we were on the 3rd floor and the stair were a little hard going. The staff did carry our luggage up to our room. They were very polite and happy to help.
Great location
Parking
Extremely friendly staff; the personal touch is really there in this hotel. Breakfast is cooked to order and the table setting and room are so charming. The rooms are also clean and tastefully decorated. I think it's the best hotel on the Aberystwyth seafront, or certainly best value for money.
As an FYI, there's no lift. So if you're on the third floor, you'll be carrying your suitcase up.
Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent standard of decoration throughout the hotel. View of the sea from our window was fantastic.
Lovely food and great location
This is an unpretentious yet stylish pub/guest house right on the sea front - first and second floor sea view rooms have lovely bay windows with a couple of armchairs and a table so you can sit and watch the stunning sunsets as you sip your evening drink. They are not large, but there's everything you need including sockets by the bed and the bedrooms and public areas are very clean. Breakfast is great, with plenty of choice. Service is friendly and efficient. I travel quite a lot for work and the Glengower is one of the nicest places I have stayed.
Location, staff were very friendly and breakfast was delicious..
Nothing
The staff is great and the food is amazing. The room is spacey with sea view and has two armchairs to relax with huge panoramic windows, in case you won’t find a suitable seat downstairs. A place you will dream Abbott and come back to. Thanks ❤️

Location is spot on. All day car park within 5 mins walk. Staff are vert attentive and accommodating.
A személyzet igazán csodálatos, mindenben is segítettek! Az ételek finomak! A tengerre néző szoba igazi élmény volt!
Nem volt. Talán a parkolás lehetne jobban megoldott.
Cheerful and polite staff. Brilliant location. Excellent choice of food. Definitely value for money.
Nothing to dislike
We had two meals here this week, I am allergic to all fish and really bad intolerance to onion and garlic. First visit I had ham, egg and chips, it was ok, but not very warm, this is the only thing on the menu in main meals I could have that hadn't got onion or garlic in. Second visit was really hard, I went in few hours early to pre warn and ask what I could have, all I could have was two starters, without some of the sauces with them and a bowl of chips. Again which weren't very warm. It is a nightmare for me eating out, some places will go out of their way to help, others just can't be bothered. Spent £130+ over the two meals and just a soft drink each, We won't be returning.
Right on the waterfront. Great old hotel. Awesome hardworking attentive staff
Marvellous view, comfy beds and a large room. Excellent food at the restaurant and very friendly staff.
Perfect hotel in perfect location! Hotel team were friendly, attentive and efficient.
Nothing.
Clean friendly staff comfy bed
Was abit too warm and no parking
Perfect location, amazing and super tasty breakfast, super helpful and always smiling staff, easy access if you would like to go out after the pub part is closed. Rooms were clean everyday, with a fresh refill of local milk and complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. Really good selection of breakfast options from menu and a fruit and bakery bar, and it was not a problem to order extra egg or anything you wanted really. Staff was definitely something that made the stay even better, always helpful even over the phone few days before coming in, and always smiling and super polite whenever it was either early morning or late evening. Thank you everyone at Glengower, you’ve made it to be our favourite place in Aberystwyth - we will be coming back!
Great location, great vibe, super-friendly staff, competitively priced.
Basic bathroom.
Locatie en uitzicht. Lokale sfeer, zeer vriendelijk personeel.
Parkeren alleen tegen betaling.
The breakfast was absolutely wonderful - the quality far surpassed expectations (and considering it was included in the room price ... just fantastic). Room was comfy and surprisingly spacious. Location was stunning and having a pint on the porch overlooking the sea, was a fabulous way to wind down every evening.
Nothing, it was a wonderful experience.
Excellent hotel/pub - nice rooms, good food, nice service, and right on the promenade
No lift
Great location. The sea view rooms are basic, but spacious and comfy. A hotel that you can actually open the window and allow the sea breeze in!
Only one complaint from me and that’s the coffee at breakfast. I don’t want a big breakfast, but I do like to start the day with a decent coffee. The HUGE coffee machine that adorns the breakfast room, doesn’t get switched on until midday, the cafetière coffee that is served is weak and tasteless and so outdated.
Lovely location and staff were very helpful and friendly
Breakfast was great, lots of choice. Welcoming staff and quick service. Bedding and bathroom clean. Ideal location.
Room was too hot and fan didn't help. They need air conditioning. Room very small on third floor with only a space for a double bed. We had to top and tail to sleep as not much room side by side. Would have liked a bath, but en-suite too small. For £185 I would have expected a larger room with a few more amenities like phone, air conditioning and fridge. No milk when we arrived, so had to travel down 3 sets of stairs to ask reception, ended up as sterilised milk. As this was my first time here, I won't be coming back.
The staff, food, view
The bed and pillows
Direkt am Strand, sehr leckeres Frühstück, sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter
Einfach aber funktionelle Ausstattung des Zimmers.
Pleasant welcome made me feel relaxed & that I could ask for anything I needed. Room was pristine & looked newly decorated with immaculate carpet. Super comfy bed & breakfast was excellent as advertised. I had a good rest which prepared me for my onward journey to the Cambrian mountains. The station & amenities were close by as well.
Lovely room with a sea view. lovely dinner.
No fish options for breakfast (salmon, haddock, kippers etc) Pricy for time of year. No parking, had to pay.
Amazing waterfront hotel with views over the bay. It was so special to watch the sunset over the water from our bedroom window. The rooms are huge and very comfortable. The staff are lovely. Breakfast was great - lots of options and everything is cooked fresh.
The property is situated on the sea front with lovely views. The staff were fabulous so friendly like you really mattered.
The bathroom was too small and cramped ok as we were only staying for one night.
fabulous food and location.
that my friends booked in the starlin cloud.
Bar/restaurant in lobby was fun!
Location and sea view.
There wasn’t air conditioning, and during the night it was cold, there wasn’t a possibility of increasing the room temperature. Hygiene inside the room and inside the corridors can be better, for accessibility stairs was difficult to climb.
Location - great view of the ocean, Helpful staff. Good vibe in the bar and restaurant. Plenty of space in the room.
The view from our room was spectacular. Great location, walkable to town and local sites. The staff was very nice and breakfast was good. We were able to eat dinner there on 2 nights without a booking, but probably only because we ate at off times. It was a very popular place. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.
Excellent breakfasts & dinners on both days of our stay. Lively pub area with plenty of atmosphere & a good selection of beers and wines. Comfortable room with dramatic see view (room 32). Best of all the friendly, helpful and diligent members of staff. Good advice on parking & we managed to get a spot outside the hotel back door. The hotel is very professionally managed & we felt genuinely welcomed.
Our room was on the 3rd floor and involved 6 flights of stairs. A lift would be very beneficial, but the age & layout of the hotel would make this a difficult improvement to implement.
Kostspielig, allerdings berechtigt. Parksituation schwierig.
Perfect room, number 12, with excellent view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was superb and nothing was too much trouble
Excellent breakfast plenty of choice without been exessive. We booked dinner it was delicious. Staff very helpful & worked hard during an heatwave . Comfortable bed.
The hotel had a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff were lovely. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable with a lovely walk in shower. The breakfast was excellent.
The only downside was that our room was at the back right by the noisy air conditioning unit and the first night we had to ask them to switch it off when we wanted to go to bed (10.30pm) however after that it was switched off in the evening without us asking.
Room and breakfast
Nothing
This hotel was fantastic, mainly the staff, every single person we interacted with was happy and welcoming, which always gets your holiday off to a great start. The hotel was spotless, the room was super clean and comfy. We ate our evening meal here and hats off because mine was piping hot and the little ones was perfect temperature (can't remember the last time I had a hot dinner) and it was tasty. Breakfast was good, the addition of pancakes is good, my child rates the hotel 11/5 😁 The bar was popular, so that's a good sign but I would recommend booking for dinner.
Only minor thing that could of been improved. The bar ladies toilets could do with the same attention to detail as the rest of the hotel. Friday dinnertime and it was well used, and a broken toilet holder which is an easy fix.
Great location Great staff
Lovely location and very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the sea view. The bed was comfy, Breakfast was lovely Would definitely stay again
Lovely place with an amazing view and one of the best restaurant with moderate prices that you will find in the U.K.
