We liked everything about this place, it was comfortable, clean and provided everything we needed. On top, we enjoyed a stunning view. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. We even had sunbirds on our balcony, which we loved :) We also felt very safe, since there are multiple locked doors with can be accessed via code and key. We would definitely recommend this place and would book again.

As someone who worked in hospitality management, I was blown away by the comfort and service offered at Mariner’s Guesthouse. It truly felt like a second home by the end of my stay. Hotel managers, Steph and Mandy went out of their way to ensure my comfort – from sharing abundant local tips to customizing my breakfast (no meat, low dairy, oat milk option) and offering late breakfast/takeaway to accommodate my activity schedule! The sunrise view was top-notch and the king size bed was pampering. The property is walking distance to major dining, diving, and Boulder penguins. Two supermarkets 5 to 7 minute drive away! I cannot wait to return.

Everything was exceptional. If you wanna have a feeling like “at home” - you must stay here. It was the best place to stay in our 14 days trip in South Africa. The staff- was more than amazing. The service level - highest calibre. The fireplace in the living room and fire in the evenings was just stunning. The breakfast was so well thought out, included local, boutique meals. Coffee was great. Space of the rooms - next level (nothing in comparison to other hotels). So friendly for kids. Highly recommended for families with kids. The best choice in all Cape Town area.

Unser Aufenthalt war wirklich traumhaft. Alles ist sehr ordentlich, sauber, das Personal ist durchweg super freundlich und sehr kinderlieb, das Frühstück war außergewöhnlich lecker, wir haben uns dort sehr sehr wohl gefühlt. Das beste ist der Ausblick, man kann so weit gucken und schöne Sonnenaufgänge erleben. Nach ein paar Tagen direkt in Kapstadt waren Simon‘s Town und die Unterkunft für uns der perfekte Ausgangspunkt um die Gegend dort zu erkundigen. Es war einfach ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt dort und wir können es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

- Lots of staircases, so not ideal for luggage. - I dont like hotels that charge per person rather than per room. - It wasn't worth the price for what it is.

This is a beautiful property with incredible views across the bay. I originally planned to stay two nights but extended my stay because it was such a wonderful place. The top floor room is spacious with high ceilings and its own balcony overlooking the bay, and the executive room on the lower floor is also fantastic, with a huge bed and a balcony. The host, Mandy, was extremely helpful, even letting me store a large bag in the laundry room. Breakfast was excellent, with multiple options plus fruits, bread, and coffee. Truly a special place — I will definitely return.

Das Gartenappartment war perfekt für eine Familie. Jeder hatte sein Zimmer und in der Mitte konnte man sich im großen Aufenthaltsraum treffen. Die Betten waren sehr bequem, der Ausblick auf die Bucht war wunderschön und das Personal sehr freundlich.

There was so much to like, friendly and welcoming, pristine room with fantastic view over False Bay, Simon's Town, and the harbor with private balcony. Lovely lounge and dining room area. Various teas, ground, and instant coffee to choose from in room or dining room. The weather wasn't great during our stay with heavy winds, but we could enjoy the comfort of our room with the majestic view.

The TV sound was restricted a bit too low but not a big issue.

Wir hatten als Familie das Apartment gemietet, was ideal war mit dem angrenzenden schönen Garten, den man ganz alleine nutzen kann. Morgens beim Aufstehen aus dem Bett aufs Meer schauen - ein Traum. Das Frühstück kann man im Apartment selbst zubereiten oder für einen wirklich fairen Preis das tolle und frisch zubereitete Frühstück im Frühstücksraum genießen. Die Mitarbeitenden sind wirklich unglaublich freundlich, besonders Mandy (die mit uns vom Frühstücksraum aus noch Wale in der Bucht erspäht hat)- großen Dank, dass du unsere Reise zu so einem tollen Erlebnis gemacht hast! Die Lage war für uns auch optimal- Simon's Town ist ein wirklich netter kleiner Küstenort, in dem wir uns immer sicher gefühlt haben, und der eine super Basis für Ausflüge in die ganze Kap Region war. Auch mit dem freundlichen Besitzer haben wir einige Male gesprochen und tolle Ausflugstips bekommen. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

Amazing location to explore the surroundings of Cape Town, really great staff, good breakfast

Hoch über der Main Road von Simon's Town mit grandiosem Ausblick! Sehr netter Empfang durch die Besitzerin. Wir hatten das Garden Appartment mit 2 Schlafzimmern und Ess-/Küchenbereich sowie Terrasse mit Garten. Super freundliches Personal beim Frühstücksservice. Wir konnten unser Appartement durch den Garten erreichen und mussten nicht durch das ganze Haus. Vor dem Haus gab es gut zugängliche Parkplätze. Sowohl zum Jubilee Square also auch zum Boulders Beach waren es ca 15-20 Minuten Fußmarsch mit vielen Treppen, aber am Berg liegt ja hier vieles :-)

Boulders Beach kann sehr überlaufen sein, wenn einige Bussladungen gleichzeitig kommen, um die Pinguine zu sehen.

Beautiful property with views over the e bay. Very attentive staff when needed. Mandy was incredibly helpful with communication, check in process, local recommendations, etc. Loved the soaking tub. Very nice breakfast.

View out over the Naval Base, but we chose that with the location. Bed was extra firm which is not our preference.

A welcoming Guesthouse with stunning views of False Bay. Mandy our host was very helpful in advising on the local area and how to arrange taxis from and to the accommodation which was very high up on Harbour Heights. The breakfast buffet was plentiful. The bedroom was spacious with a comfy bed and balcony with amazing views of the bay and a compact kitchen area that met our needs.

The exceptional steep access to the property and the number of stairs. Although there was a short cut to the low road into the centre of Simonstown, the steps were very steep and difficult to negotiate for anyone with mobility issues. Fortunately we were able to utilise local taxis easily. The bathroom although adequate had a damp smell, especially when the window was closed.

Super schöne Villa mit Blick auf den Hafen von Simon‘s Bay! Hervorragendes Frühstück mit Kaffee von der Maschine. Grosses Zimmer mit Kühlschrank, Teeset etc. Mandy ist eine sehr herzliche Gastgeberin und ist einem mit allem behilflich. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Zu bedenken: Zur Unterkunft führen einige Treppen und ein steiler Weg. In der Unterkunft gibt es ebenfalls Treppen.

If you want to walk, there's lots of step steps, not for the faint hearted.

Lovely guesthouse with spacious rooms and fantastic views and protected balconies from which to enjoy these. The breakfasts were great, with a variety of delicious a la carte hot breakfast options (you have to try the jaffle for an authentic South African experience). Staff were friendly and very helpful. Special shoutout to Adams who waited patiently for us after our late flight was delayed and we arrived much later than planned. The honesty bar and freely accessible hospitality area with tea and coffee is a lovely touch.

I was in Room 6 and the only electrical outlet not behind the bed or TV cabinet was an extension cord mounted above the skirting under the desk This meant I had to crawl under the desk every time I wanted to charge my electronics or use the iron. Mounting the extension cord on the wall above the desk would make life much easier for guests.

The staff was absolutely amazing. From check-in to other inquiries, everything was handled in a very friendly and supportive way The rooms were perfectly clean, comfortable and spacious. The B&B is located on a hill quite close to the main street. You can definitely walk to the center. Overall amazing stay!

De service is heel vriendelijk en meedenkend. Ik kreeg veel beter advies dan ik zelf had kunnen plannen en ook mijn vervoer werd helemaal voor mij geregeld! Het ontbijt is heel lekker en van alles te kiezen, met prachtig uitzicht over de baai. Het bed is heel groot, net als de kamer - met bank, balkon, keukentje, grote kasten. De marmeren uitstraling in de gedeelde ruimte is heel mooi en alles is mooi ingericht. Als je de trappen naar beneden neemt, ben je zo in de winkelstraat van Simon's Town. Boulder's Beach is een must-see en Saveur is een geweldig restaurant.

I can higly recommend this place. So awesome view on the bay from Simons town towards Muitzenberg. Very nice and calm neighborhood. The breakfast is also outstanding. Try the beef jaffle! Our room was the "suite", so it was really big, with a little kitchen! VERY comfortable beds! We really loved the place!

The only thing, when Mariner is fully booked (it was not at our stay), you might hear some noise from the living room. In our case it was not a problem at all.

The Mariner’s room had an incredible view over Simon’s Town harbor, was extra comfortable and clean. The breakfast was very good and the location is away from traffic while 2 minutes drive to the waterfront and restaurants. Just mind the stairs to access the rooms, not for everyone.

Mandy was a wonderful host who made sure we were always happy. The location is central, the property is safe and has great views. The room is spacious and has all the amenities you will need. Great for self catering or B&B stays. We loved having two separate rooms for the kids and ourselves. We will love to come back.

There are lots of stairs but it is great for exercise.

Location is close to Simon's town. Very cozy and nice view. They took care of the cleaning and they did it well. Safe area and we'll secured. The place is on an uphill which i enjoyed a lot, it makes a very good exercise. Very friendly and cooperative staff and helpful owner. I lost my charger and they immediately sent it me.

Some of the electric plugs (UK) had a malfunction, i couldn't plug the charger.

My stay here for two weeks was absolutely excellent. The most beautiful views are from the dining room and lounge areas, as well as my room! It was peaceful, relaxing and soothing. The staff, and in particular Mandy, did everything possible to make this a pleasant stay, and I would certainly come back again. Although some people did walk to the restaurants, that was a bit too much of a stretch for me. Driving there was, however, very easy. Also going to the place where you can watch the penguins, Cape Point and the lovely Mall on your way from Muizenberg to Cape Town. They also provided me with excellent recommendations when I did not want to use my own transport. It was a joy to go down for breakfast in the morning or sit in the lounge at the fireplace catching up on a bit of work, and then going out for a while. Overall, I found Mariner exceptionally supportive in how they accommodate the needs of guests.

Nothing - I wish I could stay longer and would love to return on my own or with family members.

Lovely property with just excellent staff. Mandi was terrific with a friendly and soothing voice that made us feel right at home. We were in room #1 right off of the living room space, very comfortable bed with luxury linens, nice balcony, fairly quiet most of the time (I use earplugs when needed so no issues). We stayed in July and while having wine on the balcony during sunset we saw whales coming into the naval harbour and watched them for over an hour. Fantastic location for views. Excellent breakfast every morning, continental buffet with hot menu items to choose from. We walked to see the penguins, we walked to and from dinner every night, it seemed like we were the only ones out walking after dark but we felt perfectly safe and needed the uphill walk for digestion after dinner in town. I would stay here again, highly recommend. Do not miss driving to the Cape of Good Hope - if you have a couple of days go twice and take the Circular Drive stopping off for at least a partial hike if you don't have 3+ hours to do the RT. We saw a herd of Orxy and 2 different troops of baboons. Simons Town is a great place to spend a few days.

This beautifuly presented Guesthouse is perfectly situated by the mountains overlooking the beautiful SimonsTown harbour and False Bay. With free parking I was greeted at the property by the lovely manager and staff memebers who are so friendly, never stopped smiling and couldn't do enough for me. I was lucky enough to stay in Room 2, stunning presented with a 4 poster bed and balcony. The views are incredible, especially for sunrise! The all inclusive breakfast caters for all and is served in the dining and lounge area again with stunning views over the town. During my stay upon recommendation from the Manager, i visited Boulders beach to see the penguins, some museums and the lighthouse cafe for lucnh to name a few. For me this was the perfect setting for my short stay in SimonsTown and will be the first place I look to book upon returning to this wonderful part of South Africa. Thank you so much for looking after me for my visit. Its somewhere i look back very fondly on for my holiday in South Africa 2025. The best wishes for the future. Ian from the UK ❤️
