The room had steps from bed to settee and TV area which were a trip hazard. The shower was basic above the bath rather than on the wall and would have wet your hair as well as your body. There were no blinds/ net curtains to keep your room private and we could see people in bed across the street

Loved the location, the rooms were lovely and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Would have been nice to have had the tea and coffee facilities replenished for our 2nd night.

Everything about this stay was great .The location on Castle Street is right in the heart of Liverpool, an easy walk to the main sights, shopping and restaurants. The room was so spacious with large separate lounge area spotless and comfortable Staff were friendly and helpful

It was the little things sadly, no plugs by the bed, bath filled up when trying to shower, bed sheets were stained, mattress was firm, dated shower system, uncomfortable robes, decomissioned AC.

Dure kamer. Kamer was erg donker, weinig lampen. Receptie kon niet nog extra lamp vinden, jammer. Ook vreemd dat we een borg van 100 pond moeten betalen, die we na een week nog steeds niet terughebben.

No lift to room - 2 flights of stairs. Lighting not fully working in very dark room (had to use phone torches to see clothes). See other reviews about how dark it is. Dreadful customer service (rude, abrupt, surly, unprofessional - laughed at other customers in front of us as soon as that customer walked away - they had a complaint about being "told off" by staff). On that subject, the chef was so surly at breakfast we didn't ask for a thing for fear of his mood. Wrong info given about parking. Wrong access code to get in building, luckily we were able to get the attention of someone in the bar. Having to decide what time you want breakfast and whether you want cooked/continental the day before every single day (and repeatedly texted in daytime until you replied). Mostly ignored when coming/going. Often walked in off street without a raised head - we could be anyone walking up to the rooms. Staff too busy chatting, eating takeaway or on phones to even say hello/goodbye. Asked for email to be resent that they said had the t&c's (never received). They wanted to charge £25 per night to use the sofa bed in the room (have disabilities) not for an extra person - still just 2 of us, just for the linen. Even when we said we wouldn't need it changing and we would put bed up/down...were told we couldn't...."health & safety". But they didn't think it was a safety issue to stack chairs/tables on the stairway landing...our fire escape! Toilet roll so cheap we bought our own. AFTER booking, there's a warning about music coming from bar underneath. It's horrendous and could be heard from 2 clubs (one on other side of bathroom too). Their response - you could have cancelled! Bare minimum and awful service. Just to add...they knew weeks in advance we were getting married while staying there. Absolutely nothing from staff even on the day when we left and returned in our wedding outfits.

Made a official complaint about drilling above room, the are doing refurbishment on the hotel but have not advertised that. They noise started at 7.30am I reported it to reception but the noise still had not stopped on check out at 11.00am. It was reported at reception at the time . It took the hotel 6 days to answer my emails offering 25% off next stay. For me it was not about money and refused their offer. it was about how we were treated we only stayed one night and it was a total disappointment. They did not care and just continued with the noise.

La posizione ottima, dai Docks a Cavern street, alle stazioni tutto vicino. La camera molto grande, bagno grande con accappatoio e asciugamani. Salottino con tv, tavolo con poltroncine e zona trucco. Palazzo d’epoca ristrutturato con piccolo longe bar.

Gli arredi sono indubbiamente nuovi, ma per gli allergici c’è un tantino troppo velluto (testata del letto, divano, poltroncine varie e moquette). La finestra è molto piccola e (come tutte in quelle strutture) si aprivano appena, non permettendo un ricambio d’aria necessario. Non c’è aria condizionata, c’era però un ventilatore. Essendo in centro, il contro è il rumore per strada fino a tarda notte.

I stayed Tuesday & Wednesday so the city was nice and quiet. Great area to be in, close to the shopping centre and Matthew street. Great size of rooms. Well stocked mini fridge at reasonable pricing. The staff were polite and helpful.

I was staying in room 203. The hinges on the 2 doors that open out to the balcony need repair as they would not close properly and would eventually keep opening. The toilet roll that is provided is very thin, (maybe consider upgrading to a better product) They are no plugs near bed to charge phone. No climate control in room to set yourself. Room slightly on the dark side, (maybe more lights). Apart from these issue still a fantastic hotel and I would definitely return to stay again.

location is perfect the room is pretty big and have almost everything you might need for such price i find it great place to stay

there was an A/C in the room without remote controler and did not seems like working at all. We have to use fan [not cool. as windows opens just a bit, and just one of them] I know there that check in is since 15 sharp, but it is strage to me, that all people have to wait until 15. I can't imagine how all the rooms are got ready in the exact same moment. I mean that probably they can let in someone and i still wait my 100 pounds deposit back. I know it might take some time, but still stating to plan the budget)

Room needed a lot of work. Which is a shame because if it did have the work, they could charge a lot more. The shower was shorter than myself and I’m 6ft1, you would need to be about 5ft7 and under to enjoy the shower. The knob for the shower was loose off the wall, the tap in the sink wouldn’t stop dripping, it was dark in the room, as there’s no ceiling lights, the bed was very worn, the leather was splitting every side, the duvet had a rip in it and was veryy very thin. The cloak hanger was snapped off. Our room was above the bar and it requires soundproofing, you won’t get to sleep until it closes, the windows are wooden and need double glazing. We was told wrong car park in formation before we arrived and car parking wasn’t mentioned at check in or check out. We wasn’t asked if our stay was ok.

Vom Frühstück waren wir ein bisschen enttäuscht. Da hätte ich für den Preis ein bisschen mehr erwartet. Da wir über das Wochenende waren kann es in dem Viertel nachts ein bisschen laut werden. Aber damit hatten wir gerechnet.

Das Zimmer war sehr groß und hatte einen freien Blick. Es war ruhig. Es liegt sehr zentral, und die entscheidenden Bahnhöfe sind gut zu erreichen. Auch nahe zum Fluss.

Sehr kleine Rezeption. Der Service war mäßig. Unser Zimmer war eine Suite und relativ teuer, aber es gab keinen Safe und auch keine Klimaanlage (da es sehr heiß war und das Zimmer unterm Dach war es schwer zu ertragen). Zimmerservice nur jeden 2. Tag. Das Schlimmste war der Geruch in dem Hotel. Es war sehr muffig und dagegen hat man ein blumiges künstliches Spray eingesetzt, was sehr unangenehm war.

A very grubby hotel, ugly decor, very dirty, pretty unhelpful staff (“well we don’t usually have problems with the internet so it’s probably your phone). They went to great lengths a few days beforehand to tell me about a parking partnership they had only for that to have been cancelled by the time we arrived. There was loud drilling at 8 in the morning right next to our room.

Very central, with a large room and a pull out bed which was perfect for my wife and I and Son. Nice bar and a good breakfast.

Pillows - Rubbish. Can be a little noisy however that said it was right in the middle. We were out late so it really didn’t affect us. The room has reasonable sound proofing. Water should be complimentary.

I was walking across the bedroom when a light suddenly collapsed hitting me on the head and bruising my toes. The light had clearly been glued. I received no apology but was told the manager would contact me. Two months later I'm still waiting. The shower is a joke unless you're a five year old.

Great location and large room, it would be a good stay with better customer service.

I arrived at 2pm to check-in and was told to return at 3pm which was check-in time. It was difficult to get the wifi password from reception.

Magnificent room, spacious, beautifully decorated, with amazing views...also perfectly located. I loved my room, and the staff could not have been nicer. I had a fabulous 2 night break in sunny Liverpool. I want to sincerely thank the staff for minding me so well, Ill be back!!!!

We stayed at the hotel in July and it was hot in the bathroom. The hotel had air fresheners in the hallways with a perfume smell that could get a bit intense when the smell got into the room.

We really loved this property. Wonderful colours and vibrant surroundings. Such a change from the understated elegance elsewhere. Lovely stuff and easy access to the centre of town and all the action therein.

Lack of PowerPoint near the bed head. Not a big problem but important if you have for example a CPAP machine.

The hotel is undergoing major room refurbishment - we had very loud, constant drilling and hammering on our arrival and until late in the evening and again the next morning. No prior notice of this from Booking.com or the hotel and it wasn't even mentioned to us on arrival. Room 103 badly needs refurbishment itself, its drab and depressing. Dirty drawers, dusty fan, smelly and stained cushions. Would not stay here again.

Couldn't fasten the windows overnight so wasn't as relaxed as could have been. Lots of cobwebs high on walls. Could do with little shelf in shower

What an incredible time we had. We were staying for my daughter’s graduation and took three rooms for the family. All staff and comms were fantastic and so helpful and easygoing. The rooms were stunning and we loved it. Amazing location just across from The Ivy. Fabulous.

Veldig vanskelig og sove pga. varmen. Vi hadde en stor gulvvifte og fikk låne en til. Kommer ikke til å bo her igjen hvis de ikke får på plass et ventilasjonsanlegg og/eller aircontidion.
