Loved the concept of continental breakfast. Would have liked individual cereal boxes and fruit containers. Also, bread available that could not be fingered by all. The tea/coffee and condiments were hygienically presented. Certainly willing to pay a little extra for fresh cereal and individual servings.

Bathroom ventilation could be improved - a very brief tepid shower overwhelmed it.

It's in the city, so we guessed it wouldn't have much of a view. We were right - views were of a car park and the backs of student houses. A bit of strange set up with the bigger, older block.

The building is looking a bit old and tired but actually its almost part of its charm so not that much of a negative.

Didn't like the hill to climb (Stuart St) to get there but nothing can be done about that. Perhaps a suggestion that if walking into town centre, use Moray Place to walk along as much more gentle slope.

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026Very friendly staff extremely cheerful and willing to help. The facilities were very comfortable and everything provided to help you have an exceptional stay. This facility is in the heart of town immediately close to a wide variety of restaurants and a mini supermarket just a few doors away. The kitchen facilities in each room were really good and a plus,was a $7 breakfast available also. An older but very clean facility with everything you could ask for. If we ever visit Dunedin again this is where we will stay. It is very family friendly with a lovely welcoming lounge and an extra settee with all sorts of cuddly toys.

It seems NZ has not discovered that TVs can be mounted on swing arms so they can be angked tiwards the veiwer :)

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026Room was clean and comfortable, everything was available for for a comfortable stay. Staff were friendly and there was onsite parking which was a bonus. The complex was centrally located so everything in the town centre was accessible on foot. Enjoyed the stay.
The views from the room was the back of old buildings however we just closed the blinds. Elevator was an old one and you needed to watch your step when exciting and this was informed at check in.
