- parking can be difficult if arriving back at the hotel late, but with a bit of planning, this is perfectly manageable

The perfect place to stay. Relaxing, good size room and super friendly, helpful staff.

Ticks all the boxes for a short stay. Room was clean and big enough for two. Bathroom very small though it does say on the web as it says about the stairs - there are many 😆 A big plus a decent coffee machine in the room! Location is good. No parking though but that is usual for Eastbourne. There are streets near the hotel with free parking. Best of all the manager David is Czech, my countryman! 10stars to him…he is doing a great job! Thanks for the chat and recommendations. Rye was beautiful.

Parking for all the hotels along the sea front is on the street. We arrived around 10PM on a Saturday after a wedding and it was a bit of a challenge to find parking.

The location was great and the room very comfortable

Świetna lokalizacja tuż przy nadmorskiej promenadzie. Blisko do restauracji, atrakcji i sklepów. Bardzo przyjazna atmosfera i personel. Nielimitowany dostęp do wody, soków i owoców. Codzienna usługa sprzątania pokroju, suszarka, lodówka, tv, kawa, herbata.

Malutki minusik za umieszczenie pokoju. Rodzinny pokój znajduje się w piwnicy. Jest dość ciemno nawet w pogodny dzień. Nie czułam się zbyt komfortowo zostawić otwarte okna w nocy, ponieważ nie zawierały blokady i ktoś mógł by wejść. Recepcja jest otwarta 24h więc to mogło być tylko moje odczucie. Przy braku klimatyzacji było to trochę uciążliwe.

There was not much service to speak of. Even when there were staff around, they were more occupied with cleaning common areas than with customer service.

De family and friends rooms zijn beneden in de kelder. De geur in de kamer is niet al te fris (oud of schimmel, kon het niet plaatsen) het is zeer donker en het was niet netjes schoongemaakt. Voelde niet prettig waardoor we een dag eerder zijn vertrokken

I’m not the most agile but I did cope with the numerous short flights of stairs. The whole experience was worth doing it though

Room to small, no air conditioning only one fan per room and toilet to close to the wall at the side also for people who shave the sink is not practical. Expensive for what it is, have had a lot better for a lot less.

The hotel was very clean and the room was beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly. Location is ideal, beachfront and close to town centre.

We stayed in a room on the top floor and it was extremely hot. Even when the temperature dropped outside and we opened the window, there was no airflow to cool the room down. They do provide a fan, but might need more than one on hot days.

Good 'contemporary' alternative to Eastbourne's array of more dated places, with friendly staff, nice rooms and decent facilities.

No lift: made lugging a full suitcase up endless steep stairs to the top floor very hard work!

The room was comfortable, the bathroom spacious with a well proportioned walk in shower. The furnishings and general design well thought and pleasing to the eye. Our room was the one in the photo.

90 steps, no elevator. Top floor makes it warm in hot weather Whilst the view on the bay is great, the payback is the street noise.

No air conditioning. We were on the 5th floor and it was boiling. Parking outside hotel was impossible! Very misleading. Had to use multi storey car park miles away which cost 10 to 14 pounds a day. Also, female employee on the desk could do with learning some customer service skills!

This hotel is fabulous! Our family room was absolutely perfect - spacious, modern, clean and comfortable! All the staff are lovely and make you feel part of the family. This is just a lovely place to stay. The breakfast was gorgeous, our children (who to be honest love a breakfast all you can eat buffet from a well known chain with the initials PI) said it was the best pancakes ever!! We had a lovely stay and wouldn’t doubt booking again!

1. Parken an der Straße (wir hatten Glück und haben einen Parkplatz schräg gegenüber des Hotels gefunden, aber unsere Freunde mussten weiter weg parken und ein Stück mit Gepäck laufen). 2. Enge, steile Treppen im Gebäude.

Had a great 5 night stay at The Port Hotel. Our room was lovely, watched the sunset every night over The Downs. Comfy bed & powerful shower. Fab having the he Nespresso machine too. House keeping did a wonderful job each day. Kat greeted us a on the first day and made us really welcome. She is excellent at front of house. She had to deal with an awkward guest one day and she was very professional. Thank you to all the staff. We enjoyed our breakfasts, super choice. Did yoga on the beach every morning, swam in the sea, used the Luna sauna and dined at a different restaurant each night. Wonderful holiday. We would love to stay again.

This hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room had a fantastic sea-front view, which made the stay even more special. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the modern designer bathroom was both stylish and well-appointed. The hotel also provided a parking permit for on-street parking, which was a real convenience. Despite its great location, the room was impressively soundproof, ensuring a peaceful and relaxing night's sleep. A wonderful hotel with excellent service, great facilities, and an outstanding location. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

One improvement as with all similar hotels without an elevator is to provide a Stair Climber Sack Truck, so it is easier to bring the suitcases up the staircases. They are available at the usual superstores and hardware stores. Customers can use the equipment at their own risk. Note! The team member on reception did kindly offer to take my suitcase up to the third floor but I declined, I felt I should do it and didn't want to injure them for my heavy packing!

The climb to the room ,plus being at the top floor the heat didn’t help as no air con only a little table fan ,They could get a ceiling fan as this may help if the cost of air con is to much ,this would half compensate for the climb to the summit

Huge credit to the single member of staff on duty, i didnt catch his name but he did a great job at managing the bar, the outside area and the check in. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, this did mean we waited 10-15 mins to be checked in without a queue in front of us. I want to reiterate the member of staff on duty did an excellent job at making cocktails, serving outside area and then eventually checking us in but a note to the hotel staff would be great to have an additional member on FOH to feel welcome on arrival.

Location opposite the beach was great. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast exceeded expectations. Some nice design touches in the hotel and rooms. Nice powerful shower.

No car park and no available street parking. After a long drive, we spent 20 minutes driving around Eastbourne in our van, trying to find a space. We phoned the hotel for help, but receptionist didn't offer any useful tips. On our fifth lap of the town we realised there was a 30 minute loading bay outside a couple of the hotels along the front, so we used one of them. Then once we had checked in, I had to go looking for another parking space, until I eventually found one about 1km away. Most of the staff were great but the receptionist was not particularly warm or helpful. All rooms require you to go up a very steep narrow staircase, with no lift or floor numbers. After a long journey and a nightmare parking, we struggled to the upper floors with our bags and a bike in the hot stairwell, trying to locate our rooms. Sweat was pouring off us. The rooms are small and they have no air conditioning. The rooms were incredibly hot on a warm day. Cheap fans were provided, but they didn't make much difference. We did not sleep well - one of our two rooms was literally the hottest room I've ever (not) slept in.

a lift. We had room 16 on the third floor with interminable stairs and fire doors. At 82 years my Wife and I were knackered carrying luggage up and down.

The room was beautiful - gorgeous decor, clean and a stunning sea view.

The parking permit offered by the hotel was great, however it would have been helpful if the receptionist had explained how long it was valid for (not 24 hours from arrival) as I didn’t read the small print on the back and ended up getting a parking ticket.

Sehr gute Lage in Eastbourne. Alles ist modern eingerichtet und gepflegt. Das Hotelpersonal war immer total freundlich und hat sich um alles gekümmert. Für unseren dreitägigen Aufenthalt, war es optimal. Wir hatten ausreichend grosses Zimmer mit Dusche/WC. Im Zimmer gab es eine Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine und kostenloses Wasser. Unser Zimmer war zum Innenhof hin, sodass es sich nicht aufheizen konnte und wir auch keinen Strassenlärm hatten.

Am Nachmittag war es schwierig einen Parkplatz vor dem Hotel zu finden.

Such a fantastic hotel, lovely location on the seafront and just a short walk from everything. The interiors are lovely and modern and the staff were fab. We booked last minute and could not have been happier with our stay.

The rooms were fantastic. The service was great and lovely staff. Brilliant location and our studio room with a view was gorgeous.

I felt that the front of the hotel - plants and glass etc could have been better maintained and more inviting. Also the reception area was a bit stuffy and didn't smell that fresh in the am.

Noise of 'extractor' or some other equipment coming on at around 7am because it was very warm and no AC we needed the window open But if the window was closed noise not too bad.

Keine Parkplätze, auch keine Zufahrt um das Gepäck vorher aus zu laden. Die Rezeption könnte man Mittig platzieren, dass man gleich jemanden sieht. Essens Empfehlung für den Abend wären noch gut gewesen, wenn schon das Hotel kein Essen am Abend anbietet. Der Föhn hat nicht funktioniert. Die Fenster waren nicht geputzt. Die Seifenflaschen in den Duschen unbedingt tauschen.

Last minute stay & the hotel manager was very friendly and let me charge my phone as i forgot my charger. Very comfortable room.

Check in was a bit difficult as did not have a physical card & the lady was a little slow but other than that all was great would certainly come back.

Nice hotel with pleasant staff and clean room. Small bar at reception was fully stocked and not as expensive as expected. Sited on the seafront within easy access of the town centre. Parking is available on street outside the hotel. Parking vouchers are provided by the hotel, which saves on parking costs. We visited in September and there was plenty of available spaces but this will likely be reduced during busier periods.

We stayed in a friends and family room. We weren’t aware that this room was in the basement (this is detailed on the hotel website but it’s not obvious when booking via booking.com) and we were very disappointed as it was dark and didn’t look like the photos at all - we wouldn’t have booked this room if we’d have known it was in the basement. The breakfast food was nice but the kitchen was missing ingredients on both mornings of our stay so we had a limited choice. The breakfast price didn’t even include a proper coffee either (only filter coffee) which felt quite petty given the price of the room. The staff were mixed and although the hotel bar is advertised as open until 11pm/12am depending on the day of the week, one night the bar didn’t open at all and the other night we ordered drinks at around 9.30pm and the staff seemed very unhappy with this and made loud comments about cashing out/ closing up which made us feel very unwelcome.

Fabulous sea views from our 2nd floor room (including from the loo!). Appreciated the decor; comfy bed and good linen; excellent shower. Room size also great. Super breakfast. Staff helpful.

Quite tricky to open the heavy sliding door to the bathroom as there is only a tiny finger-pull. We got very hot in the night, even though it was a cold one. We fixed it by opening all the windows and leaving the curtains open - meant we could hear the sea (but of course also the traffic along the esplanade).

Arrived tired and grumpy, but 5 mins sitting in front of the sea view in our 2nd floor bow window-fronted room and relaxation took delicious hold. Wished we had had more than 1 night's stay. Calming decor, super shower, helpful staff; delicious breakfast.

Incredible location, right in front of the beach and beautiful views! Staff are very friendly, parking available right in front of the property too and for real cheap! Really nice interior and bar. Beds really comfortable and rooms are the perfect size! Compact bathroom and all great facilities

Only slight dislike was that the room was quite dusty. Perhaps it wasn’t stayed in for a few days but definitely visible dust on decor, bedside table even hairdryer.

Love this hotel its so beautifully designed and is minimalistic. The food and drinks are amazing and the staff are there to help. There is nowhere I would rather sit and work with a lovely coffee looking out at the sea. Its a quite and peaceful hotel.

Loved the attention to detail, modern decor and the brands used (toiletries, teabags!).

We had a cabin room which was suitable for our stay - the only issue we had was the bed was smaller and softer than expected! It was also hot although no heating on. The hotel did provide a fan though and we just opened the window.
