That we only went for the weekend

We stayed in the old chocolate shop ,the information from the host was easy to follow by text ,the house was lovely ,kitchen, amazing large lounge with three sofas, bedroom with on suite it was a lovely fresh room, separate bathroom, it was all tastefully done out,but the lounge did it for us .It is ideally situated for ruins of the Abbey, shops ,pubs bars ,cafes and restaurants .in the quaint old town.

There was road noise but that can't be helped.

Received a free upgrade to the Old Chocolate Shop cottage. Perfect location clean, spacious and very comfortable. The hosts had great communication and helped us directly through the confusion we were having through Booking.com

The room was lovely with a large and very comfortable bed, beautiful interior and a nice bathroom. The location was excellent and despite being in a convenient area, it was very quiet. We really enjoyed our stay!

Unfortunately the cleanliness could have been better. There was a thick layer of dust behind the TV that looked like it had not been cleaned for several months. The toilet had not been cleaned properly and we also found several cobwebs in the room.

Spur of the moment decision to stay overnight in Whitby and booked Sanders Yard last minute - absolutely fab customer service, easy over the phone check in, gorgeous attic room (with a lovely big bathroom & bath attached!) Perfect central location for both sides of the bridge. Also have eaten at the bistro on visits before (is our usual brekkie place) and can't recommend it highly enough.

It was right in the centre of Whitby and a perfect location for us. We had difficulty finding it at first.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the apartment. The parking was extremely difficult because there was an event on in Whitby at that time.

Lovely place to stay, great communication from our hosts Becca and Ian. The room was spotless and large, the location is bang on, right in the centre.

There was nothing not to like, couldn't have wished for anything better.

The communication with the host was superb. They couldn’t do more and clearly cared about their customers. Hard to praise that high enough. Superb location and lovely property.

If it’s really got you will need a fan but the room is quite cool being tucked away from the sun and in the shade. The host will deliver a fan though if necessary and did for us at very short notice.

Location was great as only about 10 minute walk from train station and near all Whitby has to offer . The room was a good size with a large bathroom and very good value for money. Would definitely recommend to others .

Fantastic location on historic Church Street with multiple cafes, pubs, shops, restaurants within 5 minute walk. Really clean and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay again.

A beautiful well furnished property in a lovely quaint/quirky courtyard. It was FAB. Lovely and clean everything you needed was in there. Lovely and quiet great location. Would definitely book this little gem again when visiting Whitby.Fab bistro/cafe within the court yard serving wonderful food and at really good price. Great staff in their too.

We had a bad experience the night before and weren't able to shower I messaged the team and he rang me straight back and said he would try to get us in early. He rang back within seconds and told us we could go in. Everything about our stay was amazing.

For some guests the chatter from the cafe below might be annoying, I didn’t mind it at all.

I wasn't expecting the place to be so big - an entire cottage to myself. It was overkill for a solo traveller, but amazing. I really wished I could have stayed longer and preferably with someone else. The bed was super comfortable, though my time in it was all too short as I needed to get up at 5am to take photos. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to nip up the 199 steps (which I did 3 times in 24 hours!) to explore St Mary's Churchyard, with its fabulous views over the harbour and the coastline, and the Abbey and the Whitby Brewery.

Not seeing anyone at any point during the stay was a bit weird, and the early exit time (10am) was a pain, as I had heavy bags that I had to carry around with me for the rest of (a very hot) day. Early checkout seems to be a Whitby thing and every visitor I spoke to (quite a few) complained about it, as also the very early closing of shops and restaurants - 7.30pm is crazy in 2026! And many places don't open until 10am or later. Had I known, I'd have bought some supplies so I didn't have to worry about the reluctance of Whitby businesses to cater to their visitors after 8pm - especially as there was a good kitchen. So maybe warn guests that self-catering is safer than relying on the cafes and restaurants. But none of that really detracts from a lovely place, in a brilliant location, nicely decorated and in immaculate condition.

The only thing I had a slight issue with was the shower/bath.With there being no shower screen to keep water from going on to the floor, but that’s only a small issue, everything else was spot on

Not that I disliked anything , it was ok for us , but it has very low beams . One as you walk in the room and a big step half way in the room then beams at either side of the bed so you have to watch your head as you go to bed , it is up 3 fights of stairs too

Die Lage ist super, in einer kleine Seitengasse in der Altstadt. Einchecken, Kontakt mit dem Vermieter haben gut geklappt. Hatten ein Doppelzimmer, einfach, sauber und ausreichend für zwei Nächte. In der Nähe gibt es einige Frühstücksmöglichkeiten, Pubs und Restaurants. Alles ist fußläufig erreichbar. Whitby hat uns gut gefallen und Sanders Yard eine gute Ausgangslage alles zu erkunden.

Das Auto muss man etwas entfernt gegen Gebühr Parken.

Great location. I was taking part in the new North Yorkshire Challenge event. Lovely clean room. Good tea tray in the room. Liked the nice shower and toiletries.

Bed was too soft for my liking, (my preference I know)the room was quite warm when we arrived as the windows were closed. It’s a B&B but we had mixed messages as to breakfast being provided. B&B would suggest you do breakfast, the sign on the wall said breakfast room, but the info in the book said room only. As we didn’t see anybody about we couldn’t clarify so paid extra to go elsewhere, plus parking made our stay the equivalent of £150 per night. (Two breakfasts and parking)

The location of Sanders Yard is perfect for exploring Whitby. Really easy arrangements for accessing the property, we even had a phone call letting us know when it was ready giving us early access which was really unexpected and thoughtful. The property was really well maintained and clean.

There were only 2 things that we didn't like, the noise outside the property from early morning from about 4.30 there were constant deliveries and bin trucks servicing the business. The bed has a 'foot board' I am only 5ft2 and my feet were touching it, my husband who is 6ft2 couldn't lay straight in the bed. Despite these 2 things, great property.

Beams are a problem- if you’re a 6” man - don’t stay here!! Likely to whack your head on low beams that aren’t marked to show safety? Should have cushions or a brighter room??

The location was great. We are taken back when we walked in with how cute we thought the property was. Would highly recommend. Would say not stable for people in stead on their feet at the top stairs could be challenging, but for my partner and I it was perfect.

Cheap and nasty conversion. Worn out cheap mattress. Noisy. Smell of shake & vac was disgusting - as was the smell of cooking fat. People on balcony across the court yard 15 feet away on same level as us looking in having morning fag. Cheap furniture- nowhere to hang clothes apart from hooks directly over a kettle. Shower gel on floor of shower as no shelf. Room next to laundry room so even more noise. One word. TERRIBLE!! And expensive!!
