Very clean room with great shower.
Close to all tourist destinations.
It was central and clean
The bed wasn’t very big more like a small double
Like most holiday accommodation, once the door is shut you could be anywhere in the country. Where as "Silver Street Suites" really does feel like your in the heart of Whitby. It was lovely overlooking the Whitby Abbey. The communication from the owners was excellent fully informed and no wifi issues at all. We went to a live music night entertained by Carl Robinson excellent guitarist at a nearby pub" The Elsinore " which had a great atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. We ate at a cafe "The Singing Kettle" which did the most amazing breakfast. The area was very good, lots to look at and shops, even went on The Black Pearl boat trip. Overall excellent!
Hills, only through my own lack of fitness hahaha!
The location is great with a very handy car park next door, which is reasonably priced.
The room was way too hot. We opened the window, which was only about 4 inches, but it didn't make any difference There is a notice which said opening the window turned off the heating. It didn't. I imagine it would be lovely in the winter.
Good location, clean.
No WiFi
Bad smell from drains, bottle of bleach 2 air freshners later much better!!
Clean room and shower was excellent
Paid twice for dog and parking. I sought to get refunded but no joy. Very poor attitude.
Location and price
We paid for a deluxe room and we did not get a deluxe room as we stayed before and the room was much better previously. I made a complaint but they insisted room 21 was deluxe and it was not
Nice smart room and building , good location, easy parking, easy access and booking in process, ideal for a few nights.
Nothing at all with the room but parking costs at the nearest car park are not cheap but that would apply wherever you stay in Whitby etc
The location was really good , and great value for money
My only issue which is a very small one , the room could do with a little colour.
Great location. Handy for parking.
Nothing to dislike
Decor
Too small
Mega lowcashon nice place we had a great time
seagull excrement on windows. stale cigarrete smoke smell in the rooms.
Love the location… how clean it is… and the yard area to sit
Ok… now this didn’t really bother me but in room four the plug from the sink is missing and there is literally no where to hang a hand towel in either Room 21 or no 4. We also got sent the code for the room but not the outside door so I did have to call the number to ask. We booked three rooms and all classed as delux and the same price.. however our room was definitely not deluxe compared to the others we stayed in. We had no fridge for one. However it didn’t spoil our stay as we live here. And it’s clean and comfy.
Location
Vulgar pungent stench of urine from the bathroom making our stay very unpleasant. Cigarette butts from previous occupants left discarded over the balcony. Insanitary shower facilities. No follow up from building management after communicating issues with accomodation.
Location was great
Smell coming from bathroom sink carpets could do with a clean
We booked a one night stay and got a phone call from them 5 minutes before we arrived stating they had double booked our room so they would have to cancel our stay causing numerous problems in finding alternative accommodation at such short notice at 3pm arriving in Whitby on a Sunday. Very frustrating and annoying.
The bad service.
Great location, great value for money.
There was no blind on the window do people from the car park could see straight in plus the window fully snd need repairing you could easily climb in through it.
Good central location for a short stay in whitby
Easy access to the town centre. Very spacious. Excellent value for money.
Would have liked a toaster.
The view from the balcony was great, straight in front the abbey and the sea
Bed a bit small but we have a super king size
Location Cleanliness Breakfast at cafe on Saturday don't know why it Isn't open rest of week. Dog friendly
No where in shower to.put toiletries . I am artritic so difficult to.bend down to.get them from shower tray. Difficult to.get outbox shower cubicle. as no shower rail
Ok location
This hotel does not answer the phone or respond to voicemails or emails. I still haven’t had an invoice. Avoid.
Lovely view from the balcony
Everything
It was clean but basic
It had a strong smell of dogs the bathroom sink took too long to empty we didn’t see any staff so can’t comment there was no scratch card available at the property
Comfy bed and pillows. Excellent wifi
Cleanliness not quite up to standards. Requires a better clean and dust. Staining on the carpets, but the bed was nice, clean, and comfortable.
Excellent overall great location, very clean accommodation.
Location, parking, easy to find. Everything in walking distance.
Clean, good location
Very basic
very central for facilities
Nowhere to unload, I did manage to park in front of the apartments to unpack on arrival, but it was extremely difficult being on my own with a dog trying to load luggage on the the car parked within the zone paid for several streets away
Great central location
Location
Every room should be clean, hygienic and hoovered. Room 1 is not up to standard. This is also the reason we didn’t bring it up during our stay because if it isn’t hygienic in one room….. Also the nautical theme is great on the outside but in the room was a giant great white shark jumping out of the sea to eat an airborne seal….. what does that have to do with Whitby?
View over the sea & abbey
No wardrobs & draws for cothes
Good sized room, good location.
Shower had hair in it, there was a coin on the floor in the middle of the room, so no one bothered cleaning the shower or hoovering the carpet. The duvet needed a proper cleaning.
Was very clean and comfortable bed and quiet.
Great location
No staff
Central to everything
No glasses, shower was difficult to regulate and power in it was poor
Not enough toilet roll but again I had a lovely stay 😊
Clean , nice balcony and view of the abbey Fridge and chairs to sit on good Very good location near a car park
It was a small space in the bathroom and very narrow to get into the shower and no hooks or rails to hang towels
Comfy bed, good shower, gorgeous views from the balcony, easily accessible via entry codes sent to email/text. Tea and coffee station and kettle provided as well as towels and soap.
The room was absolutely filthy. I arrived to find a previous guests toothpaste spit in the sink, the drain cap of the shower had been removed and just left there covered in hair, as well as the walls of the shower. The floors had were dirty with some questionable marks on them and the chairs, as well as cigarette filters and other crumbs so had not been hoovered, the surfaces were dirty with marks on them. I had to wipe them down myself. The balcony floor was covered in water and muddy sludge so was not able to use.
Fantastic view and all the facilities you need for a nights stay. Clean and comfortable. Lovely balcony.
Could do with towel rails and hooks in bathroom.
Near everything
Key pads
the tv was a technological nightmare my phone is almost as old as me [83yrs] & no one to assist hence no tv for duration of stay minuscule shower toilet room
This property is very central, in a nice quiet road
The windows and blinds were dirty. There were no towel rails, shelves or drawers, so nowhere to store anything. The first lot of towels we were given in a plastic bag smelled musty and damp. These were replaced, but not much better. We messaged the company who own the property as we had a problem getting WiFi, even after following the instructions. Our messages were ignored, until we eventually got an answer the second time we called on the phone.
The view
No breakfast, no staff, shower controls outside bathroom, wobbly basin, not enough hangers, no storage like wardrobe or chest of drawers, limited channels on TV, wet balcony area only one chair to sit on, car parking was a joke.
Very comfortable, good location in town, really enjoyed our stay, very good value for money.
Nothing
Location was perfect and very handy for the centre of Whitby. Clarity and communication with property was good from booking through to arriving, and throughout stay.
Location
No simple things in room examples fridge sink didn't have fire extinguisher on top floor one on the ground and one on the first floor but none on the top floor
It’s located perfectly. Its very clean and comfortable
Location, price and cleanliness
Nothing
It was spacious in a very good location.
It could have been cleaner - plenty of cobwebs. The shower tray and wash-basin needed attention and there are no hooks to hang anything on in the bathroom.
Spacious n ground floor. Fridge freezer. Super shower room.
No shelves toiletry storage in shower area. Lack of parking.
Everything ...... very quiet (well, apart from the seagulls squawking all night 😂) good central location with easy access to the town, pubs & beach. Room & bathroom very spacious & bed clean & comfortable. Freshly laundered towels also provide, although, tbh we didn't use them as we'd taken our own. Very pleasant & much needed break - thank you for assisting in a relaxing experience - we shall return 😀
If anything, we feel another pillow on the bed would be a good idea - pillows provided we're somewhat 'flat'! 9
Well located and value for money.
No storage for clothes.
N/a
I liked the location very near to town also near a really good coffee and breakfast place
Maybe some more shelfs and a bit of colour's somewhere. No windows to open when warm and skirting boards could fo we with a good clean. However cc was very reasonable and and quiet at night
It was clean. Close to all the amenities. Fridge, kettle, hairdrier. Lovely overhead shower. Comfy bed. Great for a short break.
No hooks. towel rail or shelf in the shower cubicle, so nowhere to hang your towel or put your toiletries. Rain water on the balcony. More coat hangers needed.
The views from the room, the car park nearby and central to the town and amenities
Bedding was a little uncomfortable
Full experience
Nothing
Convient
Street parking is not good … because of signal it took about half a. Hour to do
Location and nearby parking. Exceptional vfm
Nothing to dislike.
Location is great
No tea bags in the room and didn’t see a member of staff to sort this
Location
Correspondence with staff it was abysmal.
Nice and quiet
The position!
No bl--dy toiler paper again, we had to go and buy our own as soon as we got there and that was before we could go anywhere!!
Rien
Everything, Clean spacious comfortable thankyou had a great dtay
Nothing
The location very handy .Loved the views from the window overlooking Whitby Abbey .Big car park near property quite reasonable.
The leaking gutter dripping all night ,flooding the balcony 2inches deep in water as it was leaking quite bad .No toaster or microwave which would of made the kitchenette better than just a fridge and kettle .
Clean, comfortable accommodation. Fantastic location to Whitby centre. Lovely view and excellent decor in room, on stairs and corridors. Tea/coffee making facilities and TV adequate for length of stay and size of room.
The on/off switch and temperature controller was on the outside of the shower cubicle - very impracticable to use. Possibly a second chair in the room as there was only one. Possibly decaf tea/coffee as an option.
Location
Very slippery in shower
Location is great! The lobster door handle is bloody brilliant
Nothing really!
More milk and biscuits
Beautiful balcony,
Check out at 10.i prefer 11
Location and parking very good. The view from balcony superb
No staff on location for any problems .
The room was smaller than expected. It was clean and i did sleep well. Location was perfect for the town center. Couldn't leave patio doors open because of the seaguls.
Noisy building with being wooden stairs and could here people walking around the building.
We didn't have breakfast. But there's plenty of places to go to get some the location is fabulous
Nothing
Exfellent location in the centre of Whitby, easy to walk round everywhere. Room bright and nicely set out. Very quiet and private with our own front door!
Window only opened so far but guess this is a security thing. More coffee would have been great as 2 sachets were needed for a stronger cup.
Location, close by.
Bed was like a bouncy castle could not get comfortable.
La déco et les 2 balcons avec vue sur l'abbaye
L'absence de lampe de chevet et de dérouleur à papier toilette. Le vacarme des mouettes mais on s'y habitue.
I liked that it was clean, towels were provided, everything was prepared, there was hot water, a pretty good and quiet place
The location is brilliant
No the cleanest
Was ideal for 1 night stay, big room, comfortable and clean and tidy. Wasn't expecting it to be as big as it was. Close to the centre of Whitby. Ideal for what we needed it for.
Nothing we didn't like
It was central to Whitby
The sink was blocked The WiFi didn’t work and we received no support to sort it out - because we were working we had to leave so missed 4 days of our stay No contact from landlord/company even though phone operator raised a complaint
Very clean and spacious
There was nothing I didn’t like apart from not enough pillows
Location
Disappointed I thought i had booked the apartment with a balcony as shown on the pictures , the bathroom was filthy hair in shower, hair and dirt around the water pipes floor dirty , half a toilet roll. Blind in bedroom not working and covered in dirt , I expected a bit more for 162 pounds ,reading other reviews the room was alot cheaper and that was in July. Not even a fridge to keep milk in.
did not book a breakfast.
we booked two deluxe rooms you gave us room 13 which was nice. also room 21 on the second floor joinery and decorating not very good and parts not finished. the funny shape but workable defernetly not deluxe we have stayed with you before and will again.
The location the veiw from balcony the keyless door system clear accurate instructions from property.
Small not very spacious for 2 people luckily we were only there 1 nite. Because we were no:19 @ top was very hot no windows to open for air 1 patio door but couldn't open and leave open all night as seagull and pigeons could get in.also couldn't get WiFi to work tried everything
Location was great
Tiny bed a lot of wasted space in the room
Location & room size , large shower.. Comfy bed, we take our own pillows.
Lack of hand held shower head & not enough hooks/ towel rail in bathroom to hang towels. Windows inside & out were really dirty, the woodwork round windows hadn't been cleaned in years.
The balcony had a nice view.
The property smelt like wet dog, me and partner couldn’t get the scent out of our clothes or the room itself using air fresheners. The bed was missing a slat and was very uncomfortable. The shower was also very temperamental and didn’t hold temperature. Stayed with discovery before but very, very disappointed this time around as it put a damper on my mums 50th away.
location was spot on , shower a good flow with lovely hot water. we were in room 6 was a double bed room with toilet/shower room, small but for the our 2 day stay was what we wanted and for not a lot of money . we bought a 2 day parking scratch card for £10 ,we got parked just up the street 5 min walk ,there is a public car park right next to the digs but it was full and they wanted £10.50 for 24 hours .
room was very warm ,
Location
Room wasvery hot. Could have done with a fan.
Location, convenience, reasonable price.
Really could do with at least a small fridge, especially in the current heat.
Clean , comfy , easy access, location , having a fridge with freezer & price .
Basic as in , 1 coat hanger & no iron . Luckily I took my travel steamer so didn’t really bother me .
The room was extremely clean and very spacious. Definitely exceeded my and my partners expectations!
The room temp being controlled by establishment and set to 21 was a little to warm for my liking but my partner who is always cold in hotels really appreciated it!
good location perfect for short stay nice and clean
It was very well situated and parking was near by
Could have been cleaner cups were dirty stains on carpet ,bed was really uncomfortable pillows were like flat pancakes and no fan so very hot as well
I always come hear and always happy with the whole experience. Ussually
I paid £30 for a late check out but had someone come in my room at 9:50 and the again 1 hour later and I had just gotten out of the shower. This is unacceptable when you pay extra money for a service. And no one has been back in touch with me since I logged a complaint.
