After going to Whitby spur of the moment, initially for the day we decided to stay for the night. We were very pleased with our stay from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully styled, unique and everything is so well put together. The rooms and bathroom were immaculate, spacious and just gorgeously comfortable. The bed was lovely and soft, the bathroom was stylish, modern and well laid out. 0ur room was a standard double with a view and that view was amazing over looking the Abbey! The room and the bathroom smelled lovely and the toiletries provided were lovely to use. The shower size and the rainfall shower head were a pleasure to use- especially on such a hot day. Breakfast was so tasty and there are a number of options alongside the full english. High quality ingredients, beautifully cooked. Proper coffee as well!! Whitby was a bit of a new adventure to us but we have stumbled on an absolute gem- we will be back. Thank you for a lovely experience.

pleasantly surprised with the hotel and location as it wasn't my first choice. simple check in,my room (4) was of a good size,very clean and tidy and decorated in warm and welcoming colours and had everything one needs for a comfortable stay including a tidy bathroom with shower.breakfast was served downstairs and offered a good choice and all served by friendly staff and considering my plans i was well happy breakfast was served so early for a sunday.

Breakfast was fine, location great. Shower was excellent.

The hotel is a short steep walk up from the sea front we parked in the pay and display around the corner . Arriving 30 mins before the advertised check in time, the person on the desk didn’t even offer to see if our room was available which wasn’t very welcoming but we left our bags and returned later to check in. The room was tidy and clean , the bed very comfortable and a fan provided. What wasn’t provided was any bottle water and only 1 pack of biscuits which I thought was a bit measly considering the room rate was more than £160 for b&b. The Vault restaurant staff were very friendly and efficient, breakfast was hot and tasty . Would stay again but only if found a better rate on the room .

The property is in a very good location. All the staff (specially the girls at the restaurant/bar) were really nice and friendly.

The bed was extremely soft, which made it impossible to sleep well or wake up without pain. The room was also extremely hot, as the windows could only be opened a small amount. That said, the staff were really kind and friendly, and they provided additional fans, which we appreciated.

Parking bit of hassle. The hotel offer free permits but spaces are limited. Exterior first impressions not that inviting. Room very hot in the morning but it was during the June 2026 heat wave.

From the outside you wonder what you have booked . Once inside everything is clean and modern . Room very nicely decorated with fabulous bathroom . Fan provided for heat.

A lot of hills to climb up and down to the water front but that’s not the hotels fault . No restaurant open in the evening. Nearby Parking difficult in the end we payed to stay in a car park. .

There was nowhere to sit outside and relax inside when breakfast was being served. We asked if we could sit at our breakfast table after our breakfast, to read the paper and do the crossword. We were told to come back at 10.30 when breakfast was finished.

Great location, although an incline walk to get to it from the railway station (if you’re not prepared to walk up hills or steps you shouldn’t be in Whitby anyway!)

Frat food and staff the food was delivered super fast too and extra tea was given to us when we asked for milk with no issues. The breakfast room was decorated nicely and was cool.

The only thing I didn’t like and this is not the fault of the hotel or its staff one of the residents was very rude and aggressive to us when we parked in the w zone which meant I needed to move my car

The admiral suite is absolutely brilliant ❤️ Shame the bath isn't a spa bath any more however still a fantastic room to book and stay in views are amazing over Whitby! Bathroom is stunning and decorating is too a high standard 😍 Bed is extremely comfy and very spacious! Bathtub at the end of the bed is plenty big enough for 2 people really nice room. Breakfast was lovely cooked for you and brought out to you hot! Now food cooked in the evenings on Mondays and Tuesdays just so that anyone booking knows this foe future reference as we didnt at the time of our stay however you will not go hungry in whitby plenty of good places to eat

Lift was pretty slow so sometimes abit of a pain... Bath tub in the kingsize deluxe room was stunning with TV in bathroom however bathroom was very small... Tv's are very limited with channels also which can be annoying after a long day out and all you want to do is unwind with a few drinks and some TV .. Maybe add the Netflix option to ALL your TV's would be much better...

Very close to center of town. Room was well decorated, roomy and great view of the Abby. Clean all about. Never had a TV in the tub. 4 poster bed king size. Good brekkie

The only small drawback is finding street parking, but the hotel gives a permit to park close by.

Everything was great. The staff here are exceptional- always friendly, helpful and go that little bit further. Food was absolutely amazing in the restaurant

Not being a lover of cooked breakfasts or their contents it would have been nice to have something other than cereal and fruit e.g. croissants, crumpets, tea cakes but that’s just me. What I did have was all good.

Breakfast very good, eggs were perfectly cooked, however you like them. Staff all very helpful and room and hotel kept clean. Also we didn't have to walk up loads of stairs. No dogs allowed suited us.

Bed was a double, it was small with a very soft mattress, so not very comfortable. No hand towel provided, fortunately I always bring my own for washing my hands. Car parking on street ok, and fun driving around looking for a space!

The room was a little on the small side, as expected, but perfectly adequate for a two night stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect for us.

There was a hairline crack in one of the coffee mugs and the reading light didn't work on one side of the bed. Just minor things, which didn't affect our stay.

Good cooked breakfast. Staff member gave us a bottle of water for our onward walk which was much appreciated.

Although I booked a single room, the bed was very small.

The barrels were delivered very early in the morning

just got back from our second visit to the Resolution and even better this time around. The room (105) was spotless and spacious and the bathroom was immaculate with a fantastic walk in shower and a whirlpool bath that is so big we could have a party in it. Special mention though to the support staff, especially the breakfast trio who are superb.

Once we spoke to reception about our problems the manager went straight up to the rooms to sort things out. The one problem they could not fix so upgraded us to a much nicer room and it was above our expectations and we were so grateful and loved the room. Absolutely no regrets in booking this Hotel so attentive and willing to fix things. The Hotel was close to everything and staff friendly and helpful. Hotel was clean in every way.

There were a few problems when we arrived like the shower being faulty and no Loo roll in the one room, but once we had a chat with reception it was attended to immediately
