Super 8 by Wyndham Durham

Nice and modern. Lovley big bed. Great shower.

Lovely comfy bed.

Breakfast choise very basic.

The location was good very quiet and a comfortable bed

You advertise a bar and food menu which we had ordered from we sat and waited for an hour ! after enquiring how much longer we would have to wait to be told she had not even started cooking it !! The poor girl on reception did not stop running around after customers as she was on her own bless her trying to keep everybody happy

Friendly staff, quick check in and out.

Beds are not so comfortable.

Location, helpfulness of staff, easy checkin, small/not too many rooms. Great parking options + free parking for whole stay. Very quiet and clean.

Only thing that was a problem - the late check out, which had been booked in advance and confirms at check in, but key card just stopped working around 11am, when we’d booked to stay till 1pm. So only a slight inconvenience and was sorted straight away but not sure why it happened if all fine & on booking when we checked in.

For a 'motorway services' hotel, this one was first class The rooms were quiet, comfortable and very clean The reception staff were great and the night porter couldn't do enough for us as we held a very late night meeting in the cafe area

Everything was great

It’s location just off the A1 is great for exploring Durham and Newcastle and further afield

The small eating area and bar needs to be more inviting

Comfortable bed, powerful shower, great value breakfast with lovely oranges juice and very friendly staff who couldnt do enough for you

No faults

Rooms were very clean and spacious. Beds comfy. Nice bathroom.

Nothing

friendly staff and cleaniness

nothing

Convenient location , just off our journey route . Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Room clean and adequate . Good value.

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing

Staff were very rude when I went to reception to complain about dirty towels and bedding

we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It was so perfect as a stop over to break up a long journey with kids. Right by the services for easy access to everything we needed but quiet enough for a good nights sleep. Comfortable, clean and very helpful staff. Would stay again as its brilliant value for money.

While being at a service station it was well sound proofed. Decent rooms, good a/c. Friendly helpful staff

You should consider that to enjoy this without worrying about the impossible parking in Durham City, you have to take a taxi. GBP15 each way

New property so everything was as expected. Good condition, clean and working Not the largest room but very well planned.

Booking. Com let me down. I had booked breakfast at this venue, it hadn’t shown up on my confirmation booking, and wasn’t on their system. The staff member wasn’t particularly helpful and quite blunt. Trying to get hold of Booking wasn’t easy, so I gave up. So paying extra for breakfast, not getting it and then having to buy elsewhere soured the experience. Lesson learned. Take screenshots.

Friendly, excellent staff.

Clean, comfy, everything you need

Nothing

staff were very good, the room was clean and had plenty charging points. Liked the WIFI, worked far better than last time I was at the super 8. The shower was better too.

The heating was fiddly, the instruction card on the wall didn't make it clear how to operate the mode selector (so it was on cold fan until I worked out how to change it). The bed was comfortable enough but too low to the floor and the disability sink was too small and too low to the floor to use. I'm sure if I was a wheelchair user these facilities would be far more useful.

Excellent room for the price. Excellent decor.

Would be nice to have more control of lighting in room, but its not a biggy.

The fact we could order food in the hotel in the evening, was great. The food was simple but tasty. The satff were friendly and helpful. We took our dog which was brilliant as we didn't have to leave her behind. The room was very clean and we all slept very well. Overall a really good experience and we would definitely return.

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

Clean Big rooms Way to get to. Facilities at service station next door

Nothing

Despite being just off the motorway the hotel was quiet and relaxing. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel EV charging option was excellent and staff welcoming

Excellent value for money in good location. Comfortable bed and pillows and spotlessly clean. Friendly staff throughout our stay.

Amazing service lovely comfortable room couldn’t fault anything

Nothing -

Modern room, clean, easy to access, Decent parking.

Great hotel on the edge of Durham - close to city and motorway. Very polite and helpful staff. Good rooms - spacious, modern with comfy beds. Very affordable. Would come here again.

No issues

Friendly staff very clean I will stay again

Great location just on the A1, staff so helpful and friendly and beds very comfortable.

Nothing

The hotel was clean, airy and very well-located. The bedroom was a very good size, with a sofa as well as the beds, tea and coffee facilities, air conditioning and extremely comfortable beds. We will definitely come here again! The breakfast was very good value with excellent coffee and the staff could not have been nicer.

Nothing!

The bed was comfortable, the dining room served reasonable food & the room mwas quiet.

The hotel does not have a/c and our bedroom was uncomfortably hot and this meant disturbed sleep.

Value for money, air conditioning, meal deals

It was super clean, staff are amazing

Nothing

The room was very cleverly designed. Loved the apartment style which suited us perfectly

We struggled to get the tv to connect to our devices and then I think someone in an another room kept trying to connect to our tv as it kept on switching to Disney.

Did not use breakfast facility.

The curries you provided, ideal when hunger bites !

Very clean and modern accommodation. Staff were amazing.Food was good value.

N/A

Although we didn't have the breakfast, there was facilities in the room for making tea or coffee which we prefered .Large comfortable bed. Takeaways was 5 minutes walk away.

TV remote wasn't very responsive, but passable.

The location is nice. The room was comfortable. Its great having fast food and supermarket near by. The price was very nice!

The breakfast is too expensive. It will be nice to have more options to select from and not only the full breakfast or the coffee + pastry.

The accommodation was beautiful. It has everything you could need, and it is very clean. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and cheerful. Ryan checked us in, and he made sure we had all the information we needed.

Nothing.

Camera grande ...caffè e the gratis ..personale gentile ed efficiente

The convenience of location and the onsite meal deal.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable apartment with great beds. Fully furnished with very good AC. Excellent value for money. Would definitely stay again!

Limited wifi

It's secure entries.

The breakfast setup. Lack of Ironing board in the room, though was provided on request. No intercom or phones in the Phone.

Situación y comodidad

Desayuno mejorable

Really lovely and helpful staff, a warm welcome even at midnight!

comfortable bed, clean staff friendly and very helpful

nothing all OK

AC in the room was a blessing

Lack of elevator

Building feels fairly new, room and ensuite were clean and pleasant to use. Air-conditioning works well and is quiet.

Breakfast option very limited - not much choice of food.

Very nice rooms, great value for money, ideal location

Nice room, easily accessible

Breakfast was nice although the selection was somewhat limited

Friendly staff Comfy and clean Surprisingly quiet location

Pleasant friendly staff. Comfortable room

I didn't realise that the compact double that I had booked, was only upstairs, but downstairs was fully booked.. so I couldn't upgrade.

Very helpful staff, would definitely stay again!

Staff were very efficient and friendly. Room was basic and comfortable, but no fridge and bare minimum of tea, coffee and milk (sachets) provided.. Airconditioning was a bonus and free parking was right outside the hotel. Quick drive to Durham Town Centre.

Floors carpet and looked clean but our feet were filthy waiting minutes of removing our shoes.

Just a regular hotel. Free parking

Location a bit dodgy

The lady who greeted us was very friendly and welcoming.

People smoking at the entrance.

Friedly safe and happy to help

Fantastic stay with my dog. Staff were lovely, really easy check in and check out process. Room was super clean and the amenities were great. So much better than some other 4 star+ hotels that I've stayed in. Grassy area to walk your dog and there's also a secure paddock that you can book just a 2 min drive away if your dog needs to let out steam. McDonalds next door and a few other eating places just a short walk across the road. As a female solo traveller I felt secure too.

Air conditioning is amazing Great caring staff Really nice food offerings (suprising for a services hotel)

Expensive EV charge offering (bit overpriced) We had a king size bed. ( but its just two beds combined together), the gap gets noticeable and bigger

Good staff, very comfortable bed

The fact that thete was a food and beverage offer at this stop. Althpigh not ad good as a rrstaurant, ot was sufgicoent gor wearu ttavellers

Nothing

Very spacious room, bed was HUGE and really comfortable. We were a family of three so it was ideal for us. Good TV with lots of channels if you want to spend a night in. Reception staff were lovely and really friendly.

Nothing. We travelled by car and it was easy to visit Durham the next day. Might be less convenient if travelling by public transport.

Amazing hotel, one of the best I've stayed in. Really clean with cool styling and amazing beds. Big beds! Our family suite was huge, I could live in it.

Nothing

The room and the friendly staff

The choice of food was limited

Spacious room Clean Comfort Staffs professionalism

Clean and modern. Comfortable beds.

Air conditioning made a loud noise every few minutes that kept waking me in the night. Too hot not to have it on and windows do not open by design.
