If I had to be really picky......the only draught beer available is Stella....🤣. Horrible stuff.

Excellent location. Not too much traffic noise despite the nearness of the A1. Handy for trips north such as Beamish and Newcastle. Ample car parking.

Breakfast menu at the adjacent health club would have been useful in the bedroom.

Unexpectedly large room. Very comfortable beds. Clean room and bathroom. Hot shower. Quality shower product. Quiet on our floor. Perfect for a couple of days away from home.

The only reason I booked this hotel was beause of the pool. I did not know you had to pay £15.00 to use it!!!!!! WILL NOT be returning.

The website was misleading we packed for spa as pictured in the hotel photos that was one of the reasons we booked .On arrival I asked about spa and because i had booked through a third party it was 15 pounds per person and needed photo ID we where also told if id booked direct it was included in price, we ended up going home early as our morning was planed to do breakfast and spa then check out at 11 this was very disappointing as id worked all that weekend and just wanted a nice relaxing break id traveled straight from work so didn't check in till around 5 and was home before 10 next morning feel like my stay was wasted .hotel staff where lovely id book direct in through them in future so spa would be included and hotel also price match

It was tidy and clean , easy to reach the hotel and free car parking.

Overall it was a lovely stay and a easy to get there. but however it could of been abit more clean for example there was stains on curtins stains on bedding and the shower was broken.

We liked how it has a health place next to it. Also rooms look like been updated to the normal room we stay in

The state of the mattress protector, luckily only one night. Looked like someone had an accident and it had been washed but to me should have been binned. Dusty in the bathroom. I think should be notified in the details when booking that you require a towel for the pool. We just used hand towel, otherwise other towel would have been dirty.

große Lüge in der Ausschreibung mit Fotos das ein Pool nutzbar wäre! im kleingedruckten steht dann das man für 15£ das Spa Center nebenan nutzen kann! Das Zimmer auch nicht komfortabel ausgestattet. Nie wieder so ein Hotel. Amen

The reception staff were helpful cheerful and pleasant

I went for a swim in the Bannatyne fitness centre which was £15 for a swim. Expensive. Plus I had to answer so many personal questions , prove my identity and have my photo taken. OK in a Police Station or Airport but I only wanted a swim!!

Convenient

Key card NEVER worked! Every time had to return to reception for a new one. Had to have the pillow cases changed as they were dirty. Mould in the shower. In the spec it said we received free entry to the health spa but in fact we had to pay extra for everything e.g. £15 for a swim, very misleading. Will NEVER go back!

The receptionist was very friendly on arrival.

Every time we used the sink the shower started to leak and the pipes were making a noise. The toilet didn’t flush very well. There was mould along the front of the shower and the grouting was all in need of cleaning. We could hear the traffic from a busy road which affected our sleep.

Hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable, perfect health club next door for a nice spa break. Nice soft comfortable beds

The hotel was basic but very comfortable and quiet. There is no, breakfast option in the hotel you have to go to the Spa cafe or macdonalds 5 mins away. The reception does have a seated area where you can watch TV and chat and the do sell some alcoholic drinks, but again it's a very basic bar.

Plenty of car park spaces, reasonably close to town centre

Felt a bit tired in places , bathroom was a bit foisty, spar was showing it’s age, if we had of booked direct with the property the spar would have been included (£15 pppday)

Clean and tidy

Unfortunately unless you book directly you have to pay an extra £15 to use the fitness centre / spa facilities which I think is outrageous. No proper restaurant on site just a cafe/ starbucks with limited menu and last food orders at 8pm, so I would NOT come back again as there's a lot of better value competition in the area for a similar price. Inspite of this I have to admit that... Premium rooms are good with large comfortable bed and large screen TV. Ive tried to be fare giving praise where its deserved, but wont return due to above reasons.

A lovely relaxing break including a massage and gym access. The staff in the hotel, gym and spa were all friendly, helpful and efficient. The location of the hotel is not the most picturesque but it is not far from Durham centre by car or is walkable if you’re fit enough. Plenty of pubs, supermarkets and fast food places nearby and there is food available in the gym cafe.

Nice tidy place

Lovely and clean and comfortable. We used the bus a lot and this was just up the road . So for us it was ideal.

Didn't realise you had to pay for the leisure centre Thiught it was in the hotel price and couldnt remember being asked by booking.com if we wanted a pass at a reduced rate So though 15 pound was a lot for a swim.

Paid £15 each to use the health spa pool, a little bit overpriced as not the same quality as other Bannatyne pools I have used.

The pool . I was surprised that I have to pay and wasn't included in the room price. I thought that would be free to use for people staying at the hotel.

Very rude unhelpful spa staff. Not allowed in spa area for a swim or breakfast as photo I'd required. New rules after our booking was made which we were not informed about.

The location is very good and quiet. It was very close to the city center and few stores.

There is no Air conditioner in the room despite this hot summer. We had to open our windows for a bit of air to come in throughout the night. Windows closed to the road and trees which makes our room a target fir the moths.

The room was large, clean, comfortable, but hot! Sadly, couldn't open the windows because of the noise from the main road directly in front.

Lovely hotel. Very clean rooms, comfortable beds and towels, etc. Staff were very friendly too and welcoming. The location was excellent with a retail park a short walk away as well as a bus stop a short walk away to the centre

The only downside is that there is no air con, but we planned ahead and brought a fan, plus the windows can be opened there is a bit of noise from road traffic but this is obviously expected being near a main road

We would have liked an armchair in the room and the bed lights were far too bright and did not allow for independent reading whilst my wife was sleeping!

Plenty of parking, close to the centre but the staff on reception made it. They could not have been more helpful and welcoming.

Air con would have been a bonus in the hot weather but the staff did everything they could to cool the room, which worked well.

Staff were super friendly and helpful (calling a taxi and storing our ice block in their fridge overnight). The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom floor was beautifully cool on a very hot night!

The bed (which needs skipped) but in particular the bed linen which didn’t seem to have been washed following the previous stayer !

Location was perfect for the City Centre

So noisy! Literally next to the motorway with a constant loud noise throughout the night. There is no way of sleeping with the windows open unless you have ear plugs. The room was incredibly hot and there is no air con.

It was just in the right place for me as I was attending a course close by.

There wasn’t really anything negative about the hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located just of the A1 which is nice at the end of a long drive, and five minutes walk from a large retail park which gives easy options for food and other shopping. The hotel is good value for money.

Big room.

The description of a 'good breakfast' needs to be explained clearly. It implies under properly highlights that breakfast is included along with parking. Breakfast is not included but can be purchased at an additional cost of £10 at another location. Other hotels with a more central location provided breakfast at a similar cost.
