Nice clean room, comfy beds, really friendly helpful staff , we arrived pretty late and we needed to leave some bags for the day and the staff were very accommodating. Also very near bus stop for buses into the centre of Durham and great breakfast.. Really good value for money

Beds weren’t that comfortable and every time you flushed the toilet it sounded like the QE2 coming in to dock. The bedroom we were in was next to the main road so there was a fair amount of traffic noise and on the first night I was woken at around 01:30 by what sounded like banging on the wall which was inside the hotel. Almost left after the first night.

The breakfast was satisfactory and the hosts were friendly. Good bus connection into the city centre.

It was a reasonable choice for a short stay but a far cry from luxury.

The property was comfortable and clean, although it was a little way out of the city access with regular buses made it easy to get to the city

It would of been better if food was available at the property after a long drive we needed to find food elsewhere

The location is a little out of the way of the town centre in an industrial estate so it's not the most scenic part of Durham! And not walking distance to good pubs/restaurants. Not the pub's fault! But just as a reference for people looking to stay in the city.

Staff were very friendly. Beds were comfortable.Cooked breakfast was great and plentiful. Location was good for visiting many stores in the retail park and easy drive into Durham centre.

This is a hidden gem. James had arranged a fan in our room due to the hot weather and was really welcoming. The cooked breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh coffee and orange juice. James was really friendly and helpful during our stay.

Bathroom needed a good clean to remove mould. Repair patch on ceiling fell off into basin.

Room was small but perfectly comfortable, with TV, tea and coffee making facilities and plenty of space to store clothing and bags. Booked a room with shared bathroom but actually we didn't have to share. Although the bathroom was not ensuite, it was for our exclusive use. Good shower. Great breakfast, with full English (or smaller cooked breakfast if preferred), a range of cereals, juice, freshly brewed coffee and pastries. Staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in was easy. Location was convenient for us as we were visiting someone who lived nearby. Parking was easy, and it's also on a bus route to the city centre if you're not driving.

Was all OK - there was some road noise as it was warm weather and we left the window open, but if it had kept us awake (it didn't) we could have shut the window and used the fan provided in the room.

Aardig en behulpzaam personeel, gratis parkeren bij de accommodatie. Goed ontbijt.

The room was smaller than expected and felt cramped. It was a ground floor room with windows facing a fairly busy road, so it could be noisy at times. The toilet made loud noises when the cistern was refilling!

Hotel correcto para pasar una noche. Un poco alejado del centro y de la estación de tren para ir andando. Hay una parada de bus al lado.Habitación modesta. La nuestra tenía el baño fuera para compartir pero solo lo utilizamos nosotras. Falta un poco de limpieza y mantenimiento. Lo mejor el pub para tomar unas cervezas por la noche con muy buena música. Los dueños muy amables atendieron todas nuestras necesidades.

Got in bit late so I think they were waiting for me and n I didn’t like the early breakfast because I was up later than I expected. I expect their busy so being a late riser is not an excuse, just pointing this out, but not critical of the food, was hot and quick.

This was a great find and as my son's first experience of staying in a hotel he was very impressed. Easy to get bus to the city centre and staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful ... some I know from experience is not always present in the larger chains. Breakfast was excellent and the welcome was warm! Thank you so much, we will visit again

Very good value, comfortable beds, excellent breakfast! Although the bathroom wasn't en suite, we knew this and the shower was lovely. Clean and convenient.

Quite a long walk into the centre but manageable. The automatic and loud alarm alert from the garage opposite going off on a regular basis was a bit irritating.

Used this as a base for visiting my son at Durham University for the weekend. The location was good, although we did use the car for getting into Durham city centre. Lovely hosts who took care of us very well and an excellent cooked breakfast. The room was rather small but cosy and the beds were comfortable. Incredibly good value for money

Very little! The room was a little dated and additional power points would have been useful as we had to rummage behind furniture and unplug other appliances to charge mobile phones etc. Not a big deal but maybe one for the list when there is any other updating being done.

The hosts and locals in the pub were super friendly - I wish this was my local boozer. The cooked full English Breakfast was great. Could also have cereal, pastries and juice.

Tam karşısında kocaman bir tesco var. We only stayed here for one night, but we were very satisfied with our stay. The room was clean and pleasant. Basic items you might need were available in the room (kettle, tea, coffee, towels, etc.). The staff were very careful. I would especially like to thank the hotel owner again for the breakfast. We had a peaceful and relaxing night. There are numerous shops around the hotel where you can do your shopping. There is a large Tesco directly opposite the hotel.

Oda biraz küçük ve şehir merkezine şehrin büyüklüğüne göre ulaşım bir tık uzun sürüyor. The only thing that bothered us about our stay was that the bathroom was outside the room. This was mentioned in the advertisement, but I hadn't noticed it. I wanted to point this out for people who aren't attentive "like me". The room is a bit small and getting to the city centre takes a bit longer than you'd expect for a city of this size.

Fast check-in and staff were very welcoming. Room was warm and had everything you need for a working stay. Breakfast was excellent. Overall very pleasant and freindly atmosphere.

Great location on frequent bus routes from the centre. Clean room with everything you need. Come & go with your own keys. Friendly staff and locals in the Bar, plus a great breakfast.

Considering the price for the hotel, the breakfast was so good. Room & cleanliness was fine but again very good compared to the price paid. Shared toilet was so clean. Even if it is "shared" bath, all rooms had their own bath except mine. so technically my shared bath was private too. nothing to worry. Price/location was amazing.

Room was tired looking as it is just an inn style which is part of the aesthetic, but for a couple of days stay, it is great.

Visited Durham for the Lumiere Festival, stayed at the Gilesgate Moor Hotel for very reasonably priced bed and breakfast (which was delicious). Had a lovely welcome by the landlord and landlady, after walking round Durham all day, it was great to relax, unwind, and have a laugh with such friendly people! Very enjoyable short stay, would absolutely recommend! Thanks 😁😁😁

The inclusive breakfast was lovely, and really capped off a lovely stay. The beds were comfortable, the rooms quite, and the bathroom adequate. There is also a supermarket directly across the road.

The hotel is a reasonable distance from the centre city, and requires either a bus or a decent walk to get in.

Great value for money and rooms really good for the price and had everything we needed. Particularly liked large bedside table space and conveniently place bedside plug sockets and plenty of coat hooks in room and en suite. Quite a large telly too. Room and ensuite shower werent huge but more than adequate for our stay. Full english was decent too, again great value given the price. Location worked for us and parking was easy albeit not a dedicated car park for the pub.

Advertised checkin was a bit later than most places we've stayed (4pm) but they didnt mind when we turned up a little early. Sunday breakfast time of 7-8am was a bit brutal too but worth it.

the hosts were amazing and treated me like family. they went over and above to make sure I was comfortable in every way. Helped me call and uber and order food. I loved the old traditional pub and the fantastic bathtub. what a luxury they are hard to come by in england. The hotel is right by the bus going into the city and there is a shopping center a few blocks away with great shops and grocery stores. the breakfast every morning was included and a delicious full english with coffee in the french press. Also coffee in the room! Amazing value for money.

The beds were a litlle hard for my taste, but it was fine because i was able to take a mattress pad off the other bed and add it which made it perfect! I seriously have nothing but positive things to say! i will definately go back

We had a pleasant stay. The room was quite compact but everything was clean and comfortable. The location is a short bus ride from the city centre, so it’s quite convenient. The real highlight was the owners — they were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Their kindness made our stay much more enjoyable.
