Great location, easy to walk around. Friendly, helpful, and accommodating staff. Nice rooms, beds, duvets, and pillows. Cozy living room, kitchen, and dining room. Good space. It is quiet and peaceful—perhaps more so than usual here in September; it doesn't seem to be peak season, and perhaps not many people travel during this beautiful spring time when you can see buds on the trees, light green leaves, and flowers beginning to bloom. There is a ramp leading to the entrance, and inside there is a large, accessible bathroom/toilet, in addition to another shared bathroom featuring two showers, toilets, and three sinks.

Wonderful hostel. Friendly helpful staff, good location, lots of parking, nice social areas, the sauna was a nice perk!

The sauna facility offered The common use kitchen looks big and clean and cosy though we did not get to use it.

Room is very small for the price we paid for during the bad rainy season this week !! Didn't get to go on heli tour nor any good walk !

Personnel fabuleux Vu qu'il n'y a pas besoin de monde en hiver, ils ont tout fait pour que les quelques personnes aient leur chambre privée. Très très propre, grand, avec un beau jardin ( barbecue... jeux.. ) Franchement à recommander !

I whish more Hostels would be like this one. Very well thought through. Super clean bathrooms throughout my stay (during low season).

Very clean, warm, well organised hostel, friendly staff, well equipped kitchen, easy check in, spacious parking. Quite most of the time but of course it depends on other guests.

Staff were incredibly friendly, place was super clean, great extras like the glow worm walk.

The room looked modern, the bed was cosy. Lockers were provided in the room. The bathroom and the kitchen were clean and great. I also enjoyed the sauna (from 6-9pm). Nice restaurants and a FourSquare supermarket closeby. Free parking on site. Good internet. FJ glacier is in close proximity. The staff was very friendly :)

Room has everything you need and was in a good location in the village. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The shower was poor as the drain was clogged with other people's hair. Reported but as one night stay just gave up on it. Took a little while to heat up as well.

It was first a hostel,if you were going to book a room would advice other options,sound proofing is lousy,can hear people opening and closing doors,room was small,toilet had hairs around.

Our stay exceeded expectations. The room was super comfortable, and the heating kept us warm. The bed was super comfortable.

Very good staff at Haka Hostel. Ryan the Front Desk Manager was very good in navigating and supporting a tricky situation for me. He was very courteous and forthcoming to help and provide meaningful resolution tips. He had a cheerful and good attitude that he carried with him all the time which was excellent. Thank you Ryan. The other staff was also good at accommodating my request of change in my booking.

Jättebra och rent boende, jättebra och stort gemensamt utrymme , jättetrevlig och hjälpsam personal ,och det fanns bastu!! Läget är också jättebra, nära till allt i denna lilla byn, det finns skyttelbuss till vandringsleder som receptionen kan hjälpa till att ordna, den kostar bara 15NZD tur och retur!

Badrummen var kanske inte de fräschaste och jag upplevde att det varit väldigt kyligt där inne.

The best hostel I ever stayed in. Very clean, modern, nice big kitchen. Definetly will be back.

Tout était au top ! De l'accueil, à la chambre. Plusieurs douches chaudes et toilettes. Une grande salle commune et grande cuisine. Il était possible de se faire un café (payant). La salle TV avait l'air super confortable et cocooning ! L'emplacement est central. Je recommande !

Non danno asciugamani inclusi e la reception chiude davvero molto presto, alle 18.

The kitchen is not really clean and some items are missing (had salt, pepper, oil... Basic stuff in other hostels)

Ik had een 4 persoonskamer geboekt en had het geluk om alleen in de kamer te verblijven.

Niet het meest sociale hostel.

Comedor muy amplio y acogedor, personal muy amable y dispuestos a ayudarte e instalaciones (baños sobretodo) siempre limpias y perfectas.

It is actually a back packers hostel, which is not shown on the booking site. Lots if youngsters and you have to share toilets and showers as well. Ideal for younger people who are on a tight budget, so should flag this as a positive option on the app. We did not sleep there, but walked down the road to a nice Motel instead

Location is good and quiet. Good kitchen and communal area. Staff are awesome, best property staff I’ve dealt with.

Shower door was broken, got stuck and couldn’t get out 😅. The walls were grubby, stains and dirty finger marks everywhere.

Sadly this was my only stay in the Haka House Hostels (my choice) and I was very glad I did! I had a most comfortable double bed with a little balcony overlooking the bush so I could hear lots of birds. I felt very spoiled having a TV - this was not usual in the places I stayed! The kitchen/dining/lounge spaces were very nice and the hostel was in good walking distance to everything.

Out of all of the Haka House’s we stayed in this was our favourite. We only spent a night before our glacier hike, but the private king room was super comfortable and a nice short walk to restaurants and activities.

Check in was a little confusing but we got there eventually with ID. Seems all our Haka House bookings randomly changed name to my wife
