Great location
Everything elim house was very nice the room was spacious bed comfortable and the location was perfect
Excellent location, Mark and Grace friendly. Helpful and informative, room comfortable and clean , good safe parking at back of property, overall a great place to stay for the lakes, thank you
Only back steps bit unsafe for unsteady feet
Couple of minutes walk into Bowness so really handy to have onsite parking. Lovely town to explore would recommend the walk to Brant Fell viewpoint. Lots of restaurants within 10 mins walk also 2 small supermarkets.
Location was very good. Mark was a nice host and kept us upto date about everything.
There was a continuous loud sound coming from the toilet exhaust fan which I found a bit irritating. The property had a policy that hot food is not allowed in the room due to which we had to pay significantly for eating out.
Location. Quiet area. Comfy bed.
Advertised as deluxe room but was anything but deluxe. No hot food allowed in the room, if I knew that up front I wouldn’t have booked it.
Excellent guest house situated a short walk into town. Mark is a excellent host nothing is to much trouble. Our room(number 10) was very spacious and spotlessly clean. We have already booked to return next August bankholiday 2027. Highly recommend.
I liked the location to the center of Bowness. The rooms were great.
The stepped access to my room was a little tricky with my walking stick but not too significant.
Location, clean and comfortable, and the host is very nice.
No fridge nor hair dryer.
Excellent place to stay, lovely comfortable rooms and bed. Excellent location with parking Excellent check in details and friendly hosts Will definitely be booking again.
The cleanliness.
Lack of fridge and microwave.
Mark the host was very welcoming, helpful with what we needed and where to park. He changed our booking details at short notice to accommodate an appt i had. The room was a twin with a bath tub . The room was large, clean, had everything we needed, was very nice. The bathroom was lovely.
We were in an extension part of the building and the outside stairs were ok for us but some might find them hard.
Location, cleanliness, value for money, well equipped included mobile charger and good parking facilities.
There is no breakfast offered or bar, could do with a small fridge in the room to compensate.
The location was good and the gentleman owner was very helpful
No breakfast
Mark was a wonderful host, lovely clean room and great location. Couldn’t fault it
Nothing
It was a delightful property located in a good position
It was very clean, lovely location with an amazing host Mark. Great value for money
Nothing it was amazing
Clean room
Elim House is a beautiful cottage full of countryside charm. This is my first visit to the Lake District, and it'a exactly how I had imagined staying here would feel. The house is old, which is part of its character, but it is also very clean, well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. Mark was thoughtful and welcoming, and we had a wonderful few days here! As the house is an older building, sound insulation between the floors isn't perfect, and you may occasionally hear people walking upstairs. Fortunately most guests were very considerate, and the house was quiet at night, so it wasn't an issue for us.
none
Quiet location, yet ideal for walking to Bowness.
Comfortable room. Spacious bathroom. Quiet convenient location fir Bowness town.

Pleasant staff, easy to find, great parking, room good and great location for what we needed
All good only a short stay
Location, room, garden
Parking may be tricky.
Good location to all the bars and restaurants.
Loved everything.
Mark the owner was a lovely gentleman, very helpful, nothing was a bother, the room we stayed in was very spacious had a view of the garden, also parking is free, I would definitely recommend staying at Elim house, we will definitely be back.
The room was very comfortable and very peaceful, spotlessly clean, room only no food included.
No bad points. If I were super picky I would have preferred the place nearer to the lake.
The location gave easy access to all activities
Nothing
Very comfortable. Close to amenities.
We needed to shut the bathroom door vigorously which was a pity at night time.
Very clean, good location
Excellent position
Nothing really
Near to everything
Steps to the rooms
The room
No breakfast served although the destination says the opposite. Some really treacherous steps to negotiate. The bathroom needs some repairs:- Toilet doesn't stop flushing every so often. Basin plug doesn't lift far enough. Crack in basin.
Love the 4 post bed and plenty of tea and coffee
Parking was a little bit tight due to building vans and a skip but they will be gone soon
The location was very near to the centre of Bowness, an easy walk.
Steps to the coach house room were tricky to negotiate.
Good location and comfortable bed.
That would be more helpful if there were a fridge in the room.
An attractive looking house, It had everything we needed in a great location at a fair price. Nice garden at the front with tables to sit.
As an old building it had its quirks and imperfections; the only ones worth noting were the stiff door lock (I have arthritis in my thumbs which was difficult) the black which came out of the bath taps, the very cantankerous toilet cistern which was noisy and sometimes the water ran continuously (eventually I got the knack and was able to stop it) and the bathroom door which wouldn’t stay shut and was very creaky when it opened by itself. Again, I stuffed the information folder under it to keep it closed. If these issues were either resolved or mentioned - the scores would have been even higher.
The house is very characterful and homely. We were sad to leave
Location was great, room was nice and comfortable, free parking a bonus
Nothing
Close to every thing
Nothing all good
Excellent place to stay just a short walk to the shops/restaurants/lake. Exceptionally clean room with a good size bathroom. Lots of little extras included - toiletries/washing up liquid/tea towel /kettle/hairdryer and USB sockets. Lovely thick towels and good quality bedding. Great sleep in a comfortable bed and pillows. Mark was a great host and communications were excellent.
Perfect location for walking into Bowness. Owner Mark was attentive & informative about the area. The hotel/guest house is very well looked after with period decoration throughout, the room was spotless & well cared for as where the guest circulation areas (hallways & landings). All in all a great facility that merits its high rating with factual pictures that give a true representation of the place. A big thumbs up.
Nothing.

Good hospitality, Mark is very helpful, even we were able to check-in earlier. Room and bathroom was clean. It is very centered to Bowness.
I just recommend check-out time could be 1 hr late as it is a little bit earlier than common.
Mark was very helpful and accommodating with the check-in process. The room was spacious enough for the two of us and the beds very comfy. My partner didn’t enjoy the shower pressure after the strenuous trek we did in the day but I didn’t mind it. We absolutely adored the place, the front garden was a delight to wake up to. Hope to visit again
Great location , clean and comfortable , lovely garden full of birds , good parking facilities, friendly and helpful host.
Nothing can't fault it
Beautiful guest house with some nice history. Not far from all the shops and restaurants. Easy to park and check in. Lots of communication from Mark before and during our stay. Comfy bed and great value! Would stay again.
The weather... but hey you can't do nothing about that!!
Clean room , bit dated
All fine , this is someone’s business so happy
Bed very comfortable.
Room was at top of house with sloping roof. No matter that there was a sign to warn not to bang head on slope, it was inevitable.
Excellent location. Comfortable bed. Lots of coffee, tea, biscuits. Piping hot water.

Very comfortable and easy to park

Great place to stay, very central to Bowness and the lovely cafes restaurants and shops! Convenient parking close by, however we didn't need to get our car out. Hairdryer was a great addition! As well as toiletries for the shower
The shower wasn't very effective and the water went from hot to cold on occasion.
location was great and mark was lovely and welcoming
Very good position, nice and clean pleasant owner

Great location
Very Clean and staff were very helpful and offered advise on places to go
Room was very comfortable and clean. Location of property was excellent. Host very accommodating with our parking which removed any stress!
A very well placed hotel close to the town and everything it has to offer. We were in room 4 and it was very comfortable with a nice view over the garden. The bathroom was a good size with a corner shower, sink and toilet. The owner Mark was very welcoming and extremely helpful with local information. We would definitely look to stay here again if we return to Bowness.

Nothing all good
Mark was very welcoming on our arrival. Room very clean & comfortable.
Just having mind our heads with the sloping ceiling but other than that room was fine 🥰
Room very clean and plenty of refreshments. Spare blanket for chilly weather.
Nothing
Lovely spacious room. Very clean and comfortable. Parking behind the house as well as on the street in front.
Nothing.
The location is ideal, and ample parking is available. The host provided exceptional assistance upon our arrival.
While I personally found the shower pressure adequate, my girlfriend experienced difficulties washing her hair due to insufficient water pressure.
The location was very good 👍
No xmas Dec's but next door was all lit up which was nice
So welcoming and homely
The property was in a fantastic location. It was clean and comfortable and was good value for money. We really liked the temperature controls!
The information about parking was very misleading. The booking listing had parking as one of the facilities. When I booked, I emailed and asked about parking and the response read: “More detailed information about parking will be sent automatically a few days before the date of your stay. There are a number of parking alternatives. These include 24/7 free street parking outside the house and some private parking at the rear of the property, but we do not operate a booking system, unless a guest has mobility problems. Rest assured that we are almost always able to find our guests convenient, free parking close to the house.” I therefore wasn’t concerned about parking. The day before our stay I received the message: “The most convenient place to park is on Biskey Howe Road, at the front of the house. This is unrestricted 24/7. This is the easiest place to park for access to the house, and avoids the steps mentioned below. We have a number of spaces at the rear of the house. The rear parking is accessed by turning into the lane, just after Elim House…” I was therefore very surprised when we arrived and found that there was very limited street parking and no parking spaces free for the property. We had to circulate the road several times before we found a space and it was very difficult to access. I was then very confused when we entered the property and the gentleman at reception immediately said “I have sent you many reminders about the arrival registration. I didn’t know if you were driving so we have no car spaces available.” Not only was this extremely rude but also completely at odds with the information that had been communicated, and I felt it was probably obvious that we were driving anyway as I had previously enquired about parking! The gentleman explained that usually a registration text is sent before the stay to ascertain information on transport. This wasn’t sent to me until the day before we left.
The owner was very attentive and welcoming.
Not big deal but it wasn't clear if breakfast was available. The sign outside indicated that it was but no reference inside. We aimed to go to a local cafe close by so it wasn't an issue.
Lovely host and lovely place ,handy car charger too
