Liked the Snug area to relax after long days hike.

The location is very good and only a short walk to all the shops and amenities in Bowness on Windermere. There are 5 parking spaces nearby and two are undercover. The room was lovely, large but very cosy and decorated to a high standard. Storage was good and the mini fridge is a great idea. The house is a beautiful old building set back from the main road.

Perfect location! The room was huge and spotless, we found the bed so comfy that we bought the same mattress when we got home. Room was ready early so that was handy. We got a parking space easily and were able to walk to plenty of restaurants and the lake within minutes. Would definitely stay here again!

Contaba solo con 5 espacios de estacionamiento, uno de los cuales estaba bloqueado por otro vehículo, por lo que debí estacionar en una calle aledaña, que aunque cerca y sin costó, no era lo que yo esperaba ni lo que se ofrecía.

This property was amazing, such a great location a short walk down into the center of Bowness. The room was immaculate, modern and comfy. Great having a fridge which we could store our own drinks and food if we wished. Our stay was quite we hardly heard any other guests just the sound of the odd car from the road outside. We were situated just across the road from the local bus stop which was handy as we used public transport throughout our whole stay. We parked our car in a big double garage under covet the whole stay we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful whenever we saw them. I would definatly recommend this place or stay back here again.

Nothing really. Other than there was no breakfast facilities but there are plenty of cafes and restaurants down in the town which was totally fine with us.

The location is unbeatable.

Very disappointing. The guest house claims to be 4 stars, yet the room was tiny and uncomfortable, with old and shabby furniture. It is certainly not 4 stars, maybe 2, and it does not offer good value for money. The bathroom with a shower is also very small and uncomfortable. Even opening and closing the door to the room was a challenge.

Flashing lights in the toilet and small like fruit flies in the toilet, but nothing that really bothered us. We also couldn’t really control the room temperature.

Excellent location, easy check in and out. Room was small but perfectly fine for us for two nights! Neat, tidy and clean.

Parking was limited and tricky to find a space elsewhere if the three spots were full. Keyless check in is great but also a little impersonal as we didn’t see any staff the whole time we were there. There were lights in the hallway that could only be switched off from outside the room, and if another guest switched it on, you’d have to go out again etc. Just a little inconvenient in the middle of the night, maybe a motion sensor light in the hall and landing would be a good idea!

The room and bathroom was exceptionally clean, it almost looked brand new. The location was great, about 5 minute walk to the lake and also close to Windermere town for cafes and restaurants.

The room could have felt a bit cosier, but other than that it was really great.

Location was great

We arrived at the property but we were unable to enter. We wasted an hour and a half trying to get through to someone to tell us why our code wasn’t working for the keyless entry. The number given on booking.com wasn’t working, my husband eventually noticed an 0800 number on a board in the hedge outside! He spoke to a lady and she gave us a different code to get in. This spoiled our evening considerably. It was very stressful and no apology.

Clean and quiet room

We were in room 5, the side of the shower was to small so water splashed all over tiled making it an ice ring The view from the window was that of a small yard The van in the room made a racket so could not be used.

In a great position just outside the town centre. Had a car park which was very helpful. Some good restaurants and pubs very close by. Not too far from the Ferry Terminal. The bedroom was spacious & also the bathroom, all areas were clean & had a room service each morning.

Check in is simple and easy. 2 rooms are bright, the room facing back is dark

Water heater which is hard to control. When pressed on 1st blue, it is icy cold. When pressed on 2nd or mid blue, it is too hot

The bed was super comfortable, the room was very clean and spacious. The room and bathroom had everything we needed with the patio. We highly recommend this place.

Location was perfect room was lovely with terrace and easy to access with no staff on site.

Just personal preference, I like air con wherever I stay, although there was a fan provided its still not the same as air-conditioning. Apart from that, couldn't fault the place and we will be back, this was our 2nd visit already.

Stay was wonderful! The staff we bumped into were incredibly polite, and helped us with storing our luggage as we arrived early. Room was clean and to a very high standard. Location was great and highly recommended. The road was a little busy in the morning but we also left the window open. In general was much quieter than if we had been further into the town, garden felt very peaceful and relaxing to take a minute to sit in. Lobby was also beautiful and felt very welcoming.

The only teeny tiny detail i would recommend, is some sheer curtains for the front rooms! We were in room 3 (Which is upstairs facing the road) and wanted the curtains open for light and for the fresh air through the open window, but was very mindful that from across the road could easily be seen sitting on the end of the bed as the windows are floor length. So some cheap sheer/tulle curtains would make the world of difference.

The only downside was the blind was smaller than the window so as soon as the sun was rising we were wide awake

Spacious room with mini fridge. Self check in with combination code. Quiet and clean environment. Walkable to the restaurants, shops, really convenient. Only 5 parking spaces outside first come first serve but you may park along the streets around.

Staffs may help in person at the hotel will be better. We only can message them in case we need help. They do respond quickly anyway! The bed is too soft for us!

To say it was excellent is an understatement. I was amazed by the cleanliness, the quality of the flooring throughout, and the well-designed layout. All the details a visitor expects to find in a hotel. And to feel right at home. That's how I felt, extremely comfortable. The staff was also very attentive. I recommend this place (Latimer House) for future visits. And it's close to the lakes. I congratulate the staff.

We had a lovely stay at Latimer house. The room was spacious and clean and the location was within perfect walking distance to everything you could possibly need for a short break in the lake district.

The only minor negative was that the materace on the bed felt a bit lumpy to me but I would still rate the stay 9/10

Great location, very short walk to shops and cafes, easy access to the property. Clean and modern. Big mirror in the room, handy for getting ready for a wedding as we were. Very comfy bed and bottled water available in the fridge.

Only issue was lack of a fan or AC but it was an unusually hot weekend so wouldn't stop us staying again. No other issues.

Immaculate and beautifully appointed spacious rooms in a character building, was a treat to stay here. Great communication from hosts. Thought umbrellas by front door for guests was a useful bonus. Location up a hill but step outside and shops/bars/restaurants were plentiful.

Beautifully refurbished property with a modern, stylish finish. The room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had everything needed for a relaxing stay. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Windermere and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, and local attractions. The staff were outstanding – very friendly, helpful, and quick to respond on the phone. They made us feel genuinely welcome and well looked after throughout our stay.

Lovely room with a sitting room. Comfy bed. A tv in both rooms. Handy for the world cup. Nice big clean bathroom wit a caveat (see what I didn't like). Faces the road but the noise is minimal. Very handy for Bowness and Windermere being about halfway between the two. Tea, coffee and fridge.

The signage to find it is extremely poor. Our sat nav took us right outside it but a huge wall and a sign hidden behind a hedge made it invisible almost. As it's on a busy road and double yellows it was very difficult. There are only parking spaces for 4 or 5 cars depending on how people park. We were not made aware of the limited car space until the day before we left. We couldn't park there and had to park 5 minutes away but as this was the lakes it was pouring down and I got soaked. Our friends who came up two days later said they wouldn't have found it if it wasn't for our warning. Better signage and clearer information on the parking problems before booking would be good. The water in the shower was very slow to drain which meant I had to keep turning it off to avoid it overflowing onto the bathroom floor. But saying all that. Now I'm aware of the parking problems etc I would happily stay there again.

In the heart of Bowness a beautiful house an exceptional room. Effortless checking in with the coded doors, parking & attention to details. The diffusers & products in the room made it special

The property is a big old House and has great rooms very quiet.

The hotel had a country house feel and was extremely clean and tidy. We only dealt with any staff/owners online and their responses were prompt and professional, we haf a very enjoyable stay and will return.

We are reasonably active so the location wasn't a problem for us. Lake Road is quite steep though so please bear this in mind if you have mobility issues.

Location is good, few minutes walk to the pier. Parking is limited onsite, its first come first serve but we couldn’t find onsite parking on any of the 2 days stay. Street parking is available nearby hotel but onsite parking would have been a big plus. Overall our stay was good and comfortable.

Good proximity to everything

Latimer House is in a perfect position very close to all amenities. Easy check in and parking. Property is spotlessly clean, and even smells lovely when you walk in! We had room 6 which was very spacious with a fridge, tv and an enormous bed! Plus a beautiful patio overlooking the garden. This is at the back of the house and very peaceful. We had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend.

In such a tourist destination and being in the centre of Town, parking is essential - even in May, so must be so much worse in the summer months. Although technically there are 5 parking spaces, one of them is totally unaccessible without the cooperation of other guests as the other 4 spaces block access to the 5th which is a shame. One very friendly guest kindly moved his car to let me into the space and said he would be gone by 10am the next morning so I wouldn't have a problem getting my car out.
