Just wanted to say the stay was brilliant! The staff were absolutely lovely so friendly and attentive. It has a really lovely family friendly feel to it.

The door creeked in the bathroom. Door to room also made a noise could have been from the draft in hallway. This was minor but annoying.

Location is right off the seafront, in the middle of everywhere

Parking - not their fault and their is ample, its just a very short walk to public facilities

It was reasonably priced. The staff were great, basic breakfast was a great way to start our day, it was dog friendly and a free car park nearby.

The bedrooms are spacious and had everything we needed, it's a minor detail, could possibly do with updating to decor. Not important as we had an amazing stay with The Donard

The staff are lovely, the room was large, clean and airy and the continental breakfast was very good. I can't comment on the cooked option as we didn't have it

The only downside is that there is no parking but it's not a big issue as there is plenty of free car parks within a few minutes walking distance

Although the staff were amazing especially the owner amd natasha we stayed for 2 nights with my daughter who has autism and neice we really loved the hotel unfortunalty a family stayed nx door to us who had teenage boys amd they ran amok all night we wemt down to reception twice to complain twice 1st time 11 30 second time 2 30 but npthing was done about it my husbamd had to take my daughter out for a walk at 5 30 in the morning to calm her down as she was very overwhelhed wiyh the whole thing she took a panick attack which resulted on use checking out at.7 in the morning i was to rapped up with worry for my daughter i didnt get to explaim to the owmer who was on morning it was a pity that we had to leave my daughter had to see her gp on return amd had to take anxiety tablets for this i would like a response as a form of apologly as to why npthing was done that night by the youmg fella that.was on only responding to this now as it has.ask for a review but apart from that hotel was lovely

I absolutely love this hotel. This is the second time I have stayed here this year. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. I went back in February and it was so good I booked again for a family night away. I would highly recommend it.

Room, a bit run down e.g. hinge on wardrobe door broken, extractor fan not working, some drawers difficult to open.

The staff were really lovely, the free continental breakfast was a lovely touch.

Bedroom cleanliness is really awful. Pulled table out to use socket and founds months if not years of crud, dust and old sugar packets. One of those hotels you absolutely leave your socks on for the entire stay. They really need to up their game. Price doesn’t reflect at all. Won’t be back & wont be recommending.

The staff were very accommodating. The continental breakfast was ok. Great location, can park outside.

Bathroom was very tired and in need of refurbishment. Black mould was off putting around the taps etc. The carpet to our bedroom was stained and not pleasant. The mattress was tired and not firm.

We attended a wedding in Newcastle and stayed at the Donard. The staff were all great and so helpful. Kevin was always willing to help us out with anything.

It was in centre and car parking was handy

O real views, our room overlooked back of shops and you could see the bus stop through the alley beside shops, clearly able to see people, and the room had no blinds or even net curtains so when dressing you had to pull curtains!! Also no fridge in room.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Natasha at reception couldnt do enough for you. She greeted us as if she had known us for years and was a lovely girl. (Deserves a raise) 😉

The thing I liked most about staying here was the friendliness of the staff. Wow to each and every staff member. From the moment we walked in every person we encountered was cheerful and chatty and made sure to make us feel extremely welcome. The complimentary breakfast was just perfect with a good range of options. We were welcome to sit with our dogs and we were served tea and coffee to our table which I thought was a nice touch. Location, price and comfort all top notch, thankyou for a lovely stay.

The seats in the dining area are clean but just a little stained and the bathroom suites are dated. This is just cosmetic but perhaps investing in recovering the seats and updating the bathrooms would give the place more of a modern and fresher touch. I must stress this in no way hindered my enjoyment. I loved staying here and would 100 percent recommend.

We loved the games room, the entrance and staircase were impressive, opening sash windows, well positioned power points, good WiFi. Powerful shower. Thoughtful provision of dog bed and bowl. Staff available but not intrusive. Centrally located.

Great value to stay clean and just job for bike packing trip . games room for fun kids pool/ table tennis and table football .
