I was upgraded on arrival and my room was stunning! Great choice of foods for breakfast, lunch and dinner. From the moment I arrived, all the staff were all very welcoming and reception staff went out of their way to assist me. Would definitely stay here again.

Znakomity hotel w Guangzhou, dojazd do hotelu i wymaga metra, lub lepiej taksówki, ale to działa na korzyść hotelu, który położony jest w "mniej zatłoczonej" dzielnicy. Bardzo miła obsługa hotelu, nie ma bariery językowej. Pokoje przestronne, czyste, śniadania bardzo dobre, urozmaicone.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much about this hotel that we loved. I booked it based on the great reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The pool was closed for renovations, and we were not informed about this before arrival. This was especially disappointing as having a pool was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. The room and bathroom were extremely dark. It was difficult to get ready, even during the day, as there wasn’t enough lighting. No working fan in bathroom or toilet and mould on ceiling. The location was nice, some restaurants and malls close by. Not too busy the area which was nice. There is a cute restaurant/bar on Level 8, but unfortunately it only opens from 6pm. It would have been lovely to be able to sit outside during the day, especially when the weather was sunny and beautiful. Hotel and rooms semi old and need some renovation ! There were quite a few other little things that added up, and overall, we found the hotel very crowded and not particularly relaxing. To be fair, the hotel did offer us the option to leave early and receive a refund for the remaining nights, which we appreciated. However, packing everything up and finding another hotel at that point was quite inconvenient, so we decided to stay. Customer service was good. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

We had an excellent stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich! The hotel is beautiful, comfortable, and offers outstanding service. A very special thank you to Yulia Linnik at the front desk, who made our stay even better. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help — from restaurant recommendations and taxis to directions and anything else we needed. Her warm attitude and genuine care made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommended, and we would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Guangzhou!

Staff gentilissimo e professionale. Colazione... eccellente, cuochi che cucinavano sul posto, vastissima scelta di alimenti sia asiatici che continentali (soprattutto la parte dolce, non scontata negli hotel di queste zone), ottima qualità del cibo. Abbiamo già soggiornato in diversi Sofitel in passato, ma qui ci siamo sentiti particolarmente coccolati. Torneremo assolutamente!!

Unfortunately, there was very little that impressed us during this stay. Some staff members were polite, but overall the experience was far below what we expected from a hotel carrying the Sofitel name and a five-star classification.

This was the most disappointing hotel experience of our trip. The hotel did not feel like a five-star property to us. The building and interior design felt old, dated and poorly coordinated, and the overall atmosphere was rather depressing. The reception experience was average and lacked the level of attention and hospitality we normally expect from a five-star hotel. The food was also disappointing, and we did not like the location. Another major inconvenience was the elevator system. Our family rooms were on different floors, which made moving between the rooms unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. The most frustrating part, however, was the deposit process. The hotel would not accept our deposit in cash and required us to use a card. After check-out, we had to wait and follow up through emails regarding the release/refund of the deposit. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and frustration. During the same trip, we stayed at other luxury hotels, including Four Seasons and Grand Hyatt, where cash deposits were accepted and returned directly without this complication. This made the Sofitel experience even more disappointing. In my personal opinion, based on our overall experience, the hotel felt closer to a three-star standard than a five-star hotel. I genuinely do not understand how this property meets the expectations associated with a five-star classification. Unfortunately, it was the worst hotel experience of our trip, and I would not choose to stay here again.

Due to our platinum status. Book a premium deluxe room and get a free upgrade to a junior suite, free executive lounge, free breakfast, and free late checkout. This hotel offers the best service compared to other Accor hotels. At check-in, we requested a late checkout at 4:00 PM because our flight was at 12:15 AM and approved. The room is spacious; although it's called a junior suite, it's more like an executive suite because the living room is spacious and there's a partition between the living room and the bedroom. The living room has a sofa, a work desk with a comfortable chair, plenty of power outlets for charging, and a minibar with all the amenities. There's an open wardrobe with direct access to the bathroom. The bedroom only has a bed and an armchair with an ottoman for relaxing. The view is quite nice, with a river view overlooking the city. The interior does have a French touch, evident in the picture behind the bed and its frame. The red accents add a pop of color. The bathroom features a bathtub, closet, double vanity, and shower. The shower head is a bit narrow and doesn't go deep enough, so when you shower, it spills onto the dry bathroom floor. The closet has natural lighting from the frosted glass exterior, but it can sometimes be too warm during the day. The bathtub fills quickly, and the double vanity is also very helpful for those of us who brought baby gear that needed washing. Facilities include an indoor pool, gym, spa, sauna, steam room, and executive lounge. The executive lounge is open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. You can choose from an a la carte breakfast in the lounge or the restaurant. Afternoon tea is available from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and evening cocktails from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Afternoon tea offers a wide selection of options, including four savory snacks, six sweet snacks, sweet soup, juice, dim sum, spring rolls and nuggets, snacks, and fruit. The evening cocktail menu includes a variety of alcoholic beverages, fruit, cold cuts, cheese, sushi, salad, spring rolls, onion rings, various vegetables, potatoes, pasta, satay-seasoned chicken, and red soup. The executive lounge was very satisfying, both in terms of the variety of food, ingredients, and taste. The restaurant is large and has plenty of seating. The food selection is extensive, but the taste can be improved. Menu: 1. Pastries, bread, pancakes, muffins, honey, bread butter pudding, pork puffs, donuts 2. Juice, fruit, fish ball curry, eggplant, various vegetables, fried rice, porridge, cakue, tahok 3. Spring rolls, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, veggie butter, potatoes, beans, corn 4. Okra, congee, egg station, dim sum, noodle station, cheese, cold cuts 5. Salad, yogurt, cereal, kimchi, soba soup

The hotel is nice the location is good near the Turkish restaurant 10 min by car But a little bit old and the lobby is boring nothing to do at night

I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich. The location is excellent and very convenient for getting around the city. The hotel is beautiful, and the room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff were all friendly, professional, and helpful. The only small issue was that some staff members did not speak English, which occasionally made communication a bit difficult. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guangzhou.

the fact that we ended up with rooms on the same floor, that was satisfactory to a point. Unfortunately my room A/C was not working properly and ended up switching to another room.

the cleanliness, you can see things from the corridor walls to bathroom walls with sticky spots and other stuff I would not dare to touch. on two separate occasions we had encounters with drunk tenants, one ended up scaring my kids at their room threatening words in Chinese. what made it worse, the management where not too apologetic claiming there is not much they can do to control guests attitude. the rooms where clearly no smoking rooms, however some guests could not care less. as a matter of fact they had the room door wide open with at least three guys smoking freely in front of anyone choses to interfere!!!

As we were traveling with our baby, they both went above and beyond to ensure our little one was well taken care of, always checking if we needed any assistance. Their professionalism, warmth, and genuine kindness made our stay truly memorable. Even though our stay started with Sofitel’s signature “Bonjour”, the stay turned out to be a mess. I've stayed at enough Sofitels and other international luxury hotels to know what the brand is supposed to feel like. This one, the Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich, gets a couple of things right and then trips over its own service. I’ll start with the room. The design actually surprised me. It's Parisian-inspired with a bold red accent wall, not something I'd call perfect, but it's genuinely nice to look at. Then you notice what's missing: accor.com's own listing for what I believe was a Superior room includes a coffee maker as a feature. There was no coffee maker in the room. None. The staff resolved this problem by upgrading my room to the Luxury room. Breakfast was worse. There's a huge spread, including local dishes, but almost everything on it is heavy and swimming in oil, the fried peas literally so. Nobody in my family found much worth eating, even with that much on offer. And nobody came to take a drink order either, so we were left figuring out how to make our own iced lattes at a hotel that's supposed to do that for you. The real issue, though, is the language barrier. Most of the staff don't speak or understand English, and the handful who do can't always get past the basics. Ordering two pillows off the pillow menu, plus the L'Occitane lavender pillow mist, became a whole ordeal. I talked to three different people, including an in-person chat with housekeeping where I had to point at the actual words on the menu just to be understood. At one point someone offered me food instead of a pillow. Getting a pillow delivered to the room took like 5 business days. And the L'Occitane mist isn't even given to you: they just spray it on the pillow themselves, something the menu never mentions. Overall, if you're expecting the kind of service Sofitel is known for internationally, you won't find it here. The room is nice enough. The breakfast and the day-to-day service are not, and that's a real problem for a hotel charging international rates. Honestly, I don't recognize the Sofitel I've always loved so desperately.

adjusting the temperature in the room has only two modes: on and off. If you turn it on, it only works on the minimum, somewhere at 18 degrees Celsius, even if you put 28 on the thermostat. when I told them this at the reception, they brought another blanket to my room, they know that this is how the system works and they have nothing to do. I got sick from there, with sore throat, ears and chills

The room was spacious and comfortable. The lobby was very large, beautiful, and gave a luxurious first impression. The housekeeping staff were friendly, helpful, and did a great job keeping the room clean throughout my stay.

At night, most of the lights in the hotel are turned off, which makes the hotel feel a bit too dark. There also weren’t many staff members available at the reception during the evening. Communication was difficult because most of the front desk staff spoke very limited English. When I arrived, there was only one receptionist on duty, and it took quite a while for us to understand each other before we were finally able to check in.

Very clean and sophisticated. Breakfast had good variety of food. Staff were very welcoming. Rooms are very convenient and comfortable beds. Room Cleanliness was maintained well. No odour smell during my stay. Spa facilities were amazing and very professional. Hotel is very close to Shahe market and nearby popular landmarks.

Toilet should have a bidet for international muslim guests. The halal food option at breakfast was very limited and food got wasted everyday because halal corner had curry and okra and porridge which did not look appetizing. We wish they would give a halal omelet station, Because the current omelet station had bacon mixing in other ingredients.

Отличный кофе и выпечка — то что нужно, чтобы зарядиться энергией перед насыщенным рабочим днем. ​Персонал: Огромная благодарность Юлии на ресепшене. Ее профессионализм, отзывчивость и готовность помочь со всеми возникающими вопросами (от заселения до логистики) очень выручили и сделали наше пребывание максимально комфортным. Приятно встретить такого вовлеченного сотрудника! ​Обязательно вернемся сюда снова в следующие рабочие поездки. Рекомендую!

We enjoyed our few night stay at Sofitel during our time here. The guys at the concierge were very helpful. They gave us great recommendations on where to eat and helped us with apps that we had trouble with. Tommy was especially helpful from day 1 up until the end. He carried all 12 of our luggages in one trip! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 The only thing thing I would suggest is to make sure the air conditioning work well 🙌🏻

On check in, the staff member tried to charge me an extra $1000 aud as a ‘deposit’ this was essentially the entire charge for the room for the week again which I was told was security for room service or laundry should I choose to use it. I find this a bit ridiculous as they had my credit card and passport on file.. when I pushed back the staff member was quick to reduce it which meant that it wasn’t really required if it could be so quickly decreased? I get a deposit has to be taken but for it to be the full reservation amount doubled with no prior notice on the confirmation is not a great start. I was also told no breakfast when I checked in when my reservation which had been confirmed clearly said breakfast included. Again when I pushed back the staff member quickly said ok 1x breakfast, there was 2 of us staying and standing there at the desk - so why would I just get one? Again when I contested it, he quickly changed and said ok 2 breakfasts. I don’t understand why I had to fight for what was included in my reservation?

The room was not cleaned properly on a daily basis, we have to request that house keeping come and clean up the items that were not clean. The TV in the room did not work for most of our stay and the engineer was very aggressive when we complained. Also the language barrier is a massive issue. We could not communicate our issues to the staff as they did not understand English properly.

I would like to share my honest experience so that anyone considering this hotel as a 5-star property does not make the same mistake I did. The hotel is poorly maintained. From the moment we entered the room, there was a strong musty smell. There were stains everywhere, and everything felt old and dusty. Our room, in particular, smelled strongly of kitchen odors to the point that my young daughter felt like vomiting during the night because of the smell. We could hardly wait to leave. When I reported the issue at reception, they only brought in an air-conditioning unit instead of offering us a different room. Also, the staff do not speak English at all. When I checked out and gave my feedback, the receptionist simply looked at me, nodded, and said “sorry.” That was the entire response. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was a huge disappointment. There are many, many, many better options available.
