Great stay all round. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and kind. Brilliant with my two children. Breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back
Very helpful polite staff. Room was clean and well presented.
A little tired and dusty and thin walls (I could hear my neighbours on both sides and above me snoring, watching TV and walking about). Friendly staff
.
We really enjoyed our stay , very friendly staff , great food and our room was lovely
Very clean. Friendly staff. Nice restaurant
Great hotel lovely location. Food was excellent and good size portions. Breakfast was fine with a good selection. Bed's very comfy rooms nice and clean
We stayed for a family wedding. Room was a bit small for a family room of 2 adults a teen-ager and and 8 year old. The room was very cold. Another family had a similar room and it was more spacious and warm.
Very nice hotel. Staff was very kind. Easy and free parking.
Its a very nice place. Cleanliness and staff are great.
Beautiful stay and the service is excellent.
We enjoyed our stay, the room was large, beds comfortable, very clean. All in all, we would love to stay again at the Woodford Dolmen Hotel.
A fabulous hotel with first class staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was first class too Also a fabulous breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.
The staff was amazingly friendly! Breakfast is a great value that people should take advantage of. Beautiful hotel!
Always pleasure to stay here lovely hotel an locely pleasant staff 😀
great place
Clean and quiet, nice bar for drinks
Disappointed, main floor room that had main hall door on one side and a van parked outside our window that prohibited us from opening our window. Loud on both sides. Event going on and van outside window was loading at 130 in the morning.Family room beds were odd, lights attached to headboards kept you from being able to sit back in bed, they were in the way, could hit your head if slept close to head of bed. Talked with staff in the morning and they apologized for the terrible experience. She tried to give us credit back for our room, but unfortunately because we booked through hotels.com a third-party she did not know how she could compensate us. We paid nearly US$300 for our room that night and I was very disappointed. She promised she would email us in someway shape or form to make it right and I have yet to receive any correspondence.
Great stay.Hotel clean and efficient.Good nights sleep.
I stayed here several years ago and it was in the middle of a refurbishment. Now some time has passed the refurbishment loos great and the room was nicely appointed and equipped. Comfy beds and had a good nights sleep. The service in the bistro bar was good but the food only OK. I would have expected better and there were a lot of flies buzzing round landing on my plate and glass which wasnt nice. Overall nice hotel and top tip, avoid parking under the trees outside the main entrance. My car was covered in so much bird muck the rental company charged me a cleaning fee. :-)
We spent one night here on our way from Dublin to Kilkenny. The staff were prompt and very polite. The location is rural, but the facility is top notch. A grand staircase greets you as you enter the main lobby. As a group, we occupied three rooms. Our only issue was the lack of room air conditioning (but iist say the temps while we visited were the highest in almost 80 years). The rooms are equipped with an energy saving feature, you must place a room key in a wall mounted to activate any in room power or lighting. If your remove the key card to exit the room all lights and wall power turn off. This was not a problem once we figured out how it worked. We had two room keys, so if a person remained in the room, the spare key allowed them to watch television and have lighting.
The hotel was clean , staffs helpful n check was quick . Rooms were comfortable n clean . Breakfast was good . Would definitely stay here again .
Very clean, fantastic shower, very friendly staff at evening meal.
This property was excellent! Perfect location and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Beds were amazing!
Beautiful grounds Spacious room Great breakfast prepay at desk is cheaper than dining room price
Nice hotel, off the beaten path. Lots of parking beautiful grounds around the hotel for walking.
Just Great to get away from home after the communion closer to route to where we are going today. Staff so helpful and friendly. Lovely Breakfast. Requested an extra Bed which I received. Great to have a fan in the room as well the room can be warm x
Alwaya a,pleasure stayin here usually down once every month cant fault the hotel foods great an fantastic service look 4ward to next trip down
Great hotel
Welcoming friendly staff throughout the hotel. Warm, comfortable and spotless room. Good disabled access and parking. Superb breakfast choice with first class ingredients. The cooked breakfast was the best I’ve tasted in a long time. A very enjoyable stay to be repeated soon.
Is clean but the bathroom is old and the bathtub is to high
Always a,pleasure to stay here as group of friends we stay regular always lives up to our expectations..great breakfast too cant fault 👌😀
Good sized room, bed comfortable. Staff very friendly. Plenty parking. However I really think a 4 star hotel should have bottled water in the rooms and also biscuits to go with the tea/coffee.
A lovely hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. Very comfortable beds.
Amazing hotel
What an amazing experience. The staffs were amazing and I will be coming there again. My wife loved the baff room and the children live the space. I'm really pleased with the hotel. Money worth it sure is.
Lovely hotel, very welcoming and friendly staff. Room spacious and comfortable. Bathroom spotless. Food excellent. Will definitely stay again.
Listed as a 4* hotel but yet small things like no tissues, hand cream or shower hats in the bathroom. Glasses not changed or fresh water on day 2 of our stay. The bed was just about made - the sheet wasn’t flatten so we had to make our own bed. Won’t be back - to dear for what you get.
Good hotel allround
Great place to stay, even on that particular friday when everyone is attending company Xmas parties.
The facilities were excellent, clean, and comfortable . The staff were friendly and efficient. We loved the food. The surrounding are and grounds were also well maintained and interesting and we loved the fairy garden.
Nice place to stay
Great stay, room was clean and comfortable food in restaurant was good. Recommend
Staff were great and restaurant was good. Rooms were not great and beds to small
Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Only issue was the room was very hot and unable to change that but I imagine for the rest of the year outside the one warm day we had this would be welcome!
Lovey relaxing atmosphere there was a wedding going on so hotel was busy but service was still excellent
Nice comfortable rooms.
Hotel is beautiful set in fabulous surroundings. Food was lovely but a bit pricey for what you get. We had a ground floor room but was so hot all night
Amazing hotel. Stayed here with a friend while motorbiking one night and honestly it was one of the most relaxing hotel envoirments i have ever been in. The staff were super friendly. Beds were very comfy. Food was excellent and dont get me started on the heated outdoor patio, a gem of a hotel and i will certainly be back
Very nice hotel and friendly staff! Rooms clean and comfortable. Food tasty! Would stay again and recommend.
Hotel is absolutely beautiful with an old charm. Staff was super nice and very helpful!
Great Place and will definitely be staying again. Very professional and helpful staff- James and Rachel. Great area around and very friendly.
Beautiful hotel! Staff was very friendly with my super chatty 5 year old son. Food was delicious and there was a cute fairy garden to walk through on the property.
Very up market hotel with classic styling and modern service, all staff were very helpful and friendly, food was excellent throughout the stay
Lovely hotel, great decoration in the rooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfast is very good
Fantastic Hotel beautiful setting. Food was fabulous and the service. Staff on reception very welcoming efficient and very obliging at any request I made. Housekeeping staff incredible always greeted me.
Lovely hotel with really friendly staff. Breakfast was great, huge choice of food.
Everything great about the hotel except room 124. The room was right beside the heating system that kept us awake for 2 nights. We paid E388 for this noisy room and one would need google maps to find. We got a brick wall outside our window last stay. We won't be returning again.
A convenient location for Carlow and Bagenalstown visits. Attentive staff, good breakfast and quiet surroundings.
Property was very comfortable. At times loud due to a wedding but understandable. Would stay again.
Beautiful area
Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly, especially one particular bar man who was so accommodating and friendly. Nice little fairy garden on the grounds for the kids. 5 min drive into the town centre.
My family loved staying here. Our room was clean and perfect for our family of 4. The hotel restaurant on site had delicious food and the staff throughout the hotel were so kind. We only got to stay one night but would have loved to have stayed longer
No hot water for two days to take a shower
The employees here were extremely friendly & competent!! They went out of their way to help us with a few things. From front desk, to bar staff, to breakfast team. Thank you!
The property was pretty but no AC, the amenities in the room were very sub par, the elevator wasn’t working and the lighting in the room was bad
The staff at Woodford Dolman were pleasant, however, I made 3 calls to the front desk for assistance with a remote. The carpet in my room was stained in multiple places and dirty. Not something that was hidden but in numerous places on a light grey carpet. A bulb was out in a lamp and needed to be replaced. Made me feel that the room was never checked before the room was given to me. Walls are paper thin. I could hear the next room's patron yawning and snoring. There was no access to drinking water except to walk into the restaurant. No mini fridge or microwave in the rooms. No gym! Although there is space and room for it. The food wasn't good. Not many vegetarian or vegan options. There was probably one thing I could eat. I would say this hotel is good for hosting day events but not great for overnight stays. The staff was pleasant and responsive to the issues with my room and offered an upgrade.
Their staff more than make up for any niggles (i.e em groining plumbing from time to time) and not to mention the absolutely lovely location. I had views over the river barrow and beyond. Breakfast service was stellar, clean attentive and professional staff. The breakfast itself was both filling, a good solid Irish breakfast.
Bar/Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception staff also very pleasant, especially the night porter that checked me in at 02:00hrs. Very impressed with this hotel.
Beautiful hotel with a lovely view. Friendly and helpful staff.
Comfortable room, great service and delicious food.
Business trip Good hotel all staff were professional and made me feel welcome across all departments Food at evening meal was excellent I would definitely return Regards M
Beautiful hotel
Clean, friendly hotel. Third stay for myself in about a fifteen years, and staff were very nice to deal with, at reception, bar and restaurant. If you are booking for Carlow, this is where you should stay. Not walking distance from the town but a short taxi ride. The rubber ducks are a lovely touch.
Nice hotel in a quiet area just outside the town.
Clean and good location
Family stay for a sports event. Disappointing attitude at booking in with sub-standard cleanliness within the room. Hotels need to get the basics right. Welcome you & a clean room.
Beautiful property and the staff was very helpful and friendly.
Excellent experience at the hotel
Check in was very good. Room itself was okay but hadn't been hoovered as there was crumbs and food on the desk chair and around the floor. Only shampoo and body wash in the bathroom , no conditioner. Dinner and Breakfast was excellent and with a brilliant selection and great service.
staff were very friendly lovely hotel with a relaxed atmosphere
A great stay for a quick stop. The area is beautiful and the scenery out the window was lovely to wake up to. The room was fitted for our family and the breakfast was a delight to enjoy. This is a great place to stay outside of Carlow.
This hotel is a bit out of town, a taxi into town will cost 10 euro
Lovely place to stay Would recommend to stay there and would stay there again
Great food all round and pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable beds and cosy rooms Abit expensive fir 1 night.
Disappointed with our stay. We arrived at 3:30pm to check in and were told that none of our 4 rooms were ready. We understood that check in was at 4pm so asked if 1 room of the 4 was ready and we could just out our bags in that room. However, she said no room was ready. I don't understand how they were going to get all the rooms finished in half an hour. We left our bags at reception. We were attending a wedding in another hotel so it was annoying we couldn't freshen up in our room. We returned back at 2am where the porter checked us in and we went up to the room. The room was clean and nicely decorated, however it was very cold and the duvet was light enough that we used two on the one bed. It wasn't even a cold night. Check out was early at 11. It confused me that check out was so early yet no rooms were ready at 3:30pm for check in. Overall a disappointing stay but price was good.
did the job good for what we needed would stay there again
Lovely stay. Room a bit too warm but otherwise a great hotel
Everything was good except the Bistro service. The food was fantastic but we had to wait 40-45 minutes between the starter and the main course.
Love the Dolmen ,great Staff good food and magnificent Gardens
Newly renovated. Very nice, Staff friendly. Would stay again
Very good hotel. Excellent breakfast and room. Would come again.
Very comfortable stay with friendly staff. reat location for our needs.
i left a dress in the wardrobe of room 222 could i retrieve it to my home address apartment 42 wellview house wellview avenue ,tonlegee road Dublin 5 Ireland post code DO5R3K0
It’s always a pleasure to visit the Dolmen. There is always a warm welcome. Some of the interior was a little tired and jaded looking. The corridor carpet could do with a change. That’s only a small thing though and I’ve stayed in snazzier places that haven’t service as good as the Dolmen.
The most disappointing thing about the hotel qas there was no a/c in the room the temp was 29 degrees all nibht even with the window wide open ,at 1pm on tgw first night i had enough and rang down to the desk and the man said everyone was in the same boat and he could do nothing for us .The next day and night was the same only they gave me a fan to help because there was 4 of us in an average size room and the heat was unbearable even though the weather was raining and windy .The shower ran hot and cold constantly and there wasnt enough toiley roll in the room .All in all we wont be back and it was a disappointing stay gor the kids who had been waiting a summer for there holiday 😞
Very easy check in...nice staff...lovely breakfast ....would highly recommend this property
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. Super polite and friendly!
Location great, easy access to Kilkenny lovely gardens. Staff were very helpful, got us checked in early so we could get a shuttle bus to Bob Dylan. Very comfortable beds, really nice room with lovely view of the garden
It was all good. Breakfast could have been a little better. But I enjoyed my stay.
