Breakfast was fresly cooked and impressive. Location was good as well.

Great rooms spacious and airy. Bedding and beds are top quality. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast and evening meal choices were good, staff and service were were friendly and helpful. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Stonecross Manor Hotel.

Nothing to say from us - there was everything to like.

Lovely, clean and comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff, good food at breakfast. Location great - on the edge of Kendal, close to the by pass - didn't have to go into the town centre at all.

Stayed here several times now - internally the place could do with a lick of paint - the paintwork along the corridors in particular is starting to look a bit shabby.

The lady who checked me in was thoroughly amazing. She took me orders for food and drink. Really friendly and chatty. Everyone around us was treated to the same high standard. What a great member of staff. Thank you.

Room and bathroom were clean. And the pool looked lovely, just wish I had brought my costume.

I found the bed and pillows all really hard. I was meant to ask about softer pillows, but was rushing about, so my fault there. Curtains never really closed properly so was woken by sun coming in. I also never realised hotel was so close to main road, so road traffic noise was hectic when windows open. Also expected more of a garden, maybe there is when building works are done, but don't think so.

Delightful staff. Comfy and spacious room. Good breakfast, freshly cooked. Quiet throughout the night.

Short staffed so noone on reception quite often. My room key didn't work when we arrived. I had to get another guest to lead me to the kitchen to find a staff member to search out receptionist.

Location great. Car parking facilities good. Staff friendly. Unable to comment on food or drinks as didn’t use either the bar or restaurant. Room adequate size - do prefer a king size bed so will try and book a bigger room next time.

Really friendly and engaging staff. Lovely pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Good food. Easy 25 minute walk into centre of Kendal.

The lady on reception was excellent, very helpful and welcoming at check-in, check-out and breakfast. The room was clean. We didn't stay long enough to use the swimming pool but we were told the opening hours.

The bathroom door was sticking but the receptionist said she'd get maintenance to look at it.

Lovely looking building with own pool, sauna and steam room. 20 minutes walk to the town. Breakfast and evening meal was very good.

Although the hotel was generally clean, some small areas need attention such as cob webs in lamp shades and corners of rooms.

Lovely and clean. Staff were great to deal with and very helpful. Was easy to find. Plenty of parking which was a pleasant surprise as we have been caught out at other locations that only mention the lack off in the fine print

Staff make all the difference Chloe was fantastic and seemed to be everywhere with a smile and good humour... I guess she must be the owner! The room was spacious in reasonable condition. (A little attention would make all the difference), the lesiure facilities where very welcome shame the steam room and Suna weren't working. Overall great value, a good breakfast and location worked well for us.

An enjoyable 2 night stay. Staff were pleasant and knowledgeable about the area. Good choice for breakfast. We didn't dine in the hotel, but the menu looked to have a good choice too. Room was clean and comfortable. Booked again for a function in September.

Really calming and friendly welcome. Room was a good size and clean. Loved the added extras of water, tea, coffee and biscuits. Room was cleaned on the second day of our stay (we stayed for 2 nights). Lovely addition of the spa use, which was clean. Really enjoyed our stay and will be back :)

The character that is conveyed in the photos is totally lacking in person. The breakfast was sadly inedible- overcooked and tasteless.

Hotel was lovely but not enough staff on in the morning for breakfast you need at least 2 people to much for 1 person to cope with

Evening meal was good. We arrived later than expected so did not have time to visit the pool

The staff on duty were trying to do their best but the hotel was obviously very understaffed.

No parking after it sells with parking

We stayed for one night, passing through the Lake District to Scotland and it was in the perfect location. The price was competitive. The staff were lovely. We ordered food at the Reception, before went for a swim in the fab swimming pool, because the restaurant would have been closed afterwards. The lady working at Reception kindly organised for the food to be brought the food up to our room, and timed it so that it would be there after our 45 minute swim. This made our stay perfect. The breakfast was particularly good and the service was also good. There was a wide variety of choice in the cold breakfast buffet and also a good selection for the table service cooked breakfast options. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Location was good, easy walk into Kendal bus stop nearby if you needed it. Good size room , warm and comfortable. Plenty of parking. Nice food, especially breakfast,. Staff were all friendly.

1 person managing reception, check ins, and the food run and bar. Long waits. Room dirty. Old plaster at side of pool which was still there today following spotting it yesterday. Nasal strip stuck to bedroom fan from previous customers.

Both breakfast and evening meals were of a high standard. All dishes were well presented with generous portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ample parking.

Although room facilities were generally good it would have been helpful to have had somewhere to put soap, sponge etc in the shower.

Easy to get to and a great base for exploring the surrounding walks by car. The accommodation was comfortable, bright, decorated in a classic clean modern way - feel airy, making it a lovely place to return to after a day out.

The room was clean, but we did notice a few hairs left behind from previous guests. A little more attention to the smaller details would make it exceptional.

•There was always someone around to resolve any issues. •The hotel had WIFI, it was a bit temperamental but was mostly ok. •Housekeeping came and tidied, provided new towels, made the beds and restocked tea and coffee pots each day. •Onsite parking. •Very friendly staff. •Slept well and didn’t experience any loud noise. •Shower was nice and hot with a good high pressure.

•We had it a few times where the fob wouldn’t work so we had to go back downstairs to get the card reprogrammed, it was more of a minor inconvenience than a massive problem as it was rectified quickly! •The hotel was a little rough around the edges, but it wasn’t skanky or anything and was clean overall. •We booked single beds, I found the beds were a bit close together and some more space would’ve been nice, but I suppose it comes more down to personal preference.

It’s a nice old building liked the style. Swimming pool was lovely Bar and dinning area was pleasant. Food was ok. One member of staff Chloe was absolutely fabulous she was so friendly and helpful when we had a problem Can’t praise her enough

The room was quite nice Bathroom could do with a refit Couldn’t get the plug out of the bath so had to leave it in and use the shower next morning The sink didn’t have the correct plug in it was only small and a towel was rolled up on the floor under the toilet wasn’t sure what that was for ?! Only toiletries on offer were 2 small bars of soap Was amazed that there was no phone in the room not good if you need help in an emergency had to ring the hotel on my mobile to speak to reception to report the problem with the bath Only one bedside lamp as well. On the plus side the room was clean and a decent size and the food was fine

The hotel was great, really friendly lady at front desk, she was on at breakfast too, the food at breakfast time was to a very high standard and plenty of it, freshly cooked,and high quality ingredients. Plenty pastries and nice bread for toast. We really enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend and we hope to come and stay again.

Hotel staff was very friendly and tried to be accomodating. The room was very clean and comfortable, and I found the bed comfortable too.

For a 4-star hotel, I'd like to point out a few things that could be constructive feedback. I believe the hotel might be understaffed as in the morning there was no one at reception for about 30-40 minutes. Also, it would be handy to have slippers in the room to be able to use the pool as well as hairdryers in the bathrooms - or to be able to request them either by having someone in reception. Lastly, our room had a connecting door which was ofc locked but we could hear noise from the room next door.

There seemed to be limited information available about the hotel and few staff to ask. There was no obvious info about food availability in the evening. And no crisps/snacks at the bar? In the morning, I was 10 mins too early to order a cooked breakfast so had cereal. Before I’d finished my toast, people were getting cooked breakfasts! Maybe you could be more flexible about this ?

Small beds no air conditioning the British summer is too warm now all hotels should think strongly about getting air conditioning fitted half of the leisure facilities weren't working. Toilet had a crack in it so that made a noise every time you sat on it and the plunger for the bath plug would not release

The pool and location was great close to the lakes. Grounds was basic but decent

Beautiful hotel, excellent facilities, fantastic breakfast menu. Super location, a great base to explore the area around Kendal. Hotel was clean and tidy and the bonus of a swimming pool was just icing on the cake.

No staff on reception when we arrived....after a long wait I had to phone the hotel to ask for someone to check us in....!!

Recently renovated hotel with nice common areas and rooms. Spa and swimming pool a great bonus. EV charging point at reasonable price (compared to motorway services) and 20 minutes away from Kendal centre.

I liked the pool area and the breakfast was great.

The room we were allocated was just a standard room even though I paid for a king size superior room. I asked the receptionist whether they was a mistake and she said that’s the right room. The room was small and very warm. There was only a small fan which didn’t work to our satisfaction. I have health problems and so was very uncomfortable. The service in the dining room was slow especially at breakfast time on Sunday when there was only one person doing all the jobs.

Pool was excellent.

There was no one on reception, and no way of attracting attention, we had to wait to check in and out. The member of staff who did cover reception was lovely , but also trying to do several jobs at the same time.

Room was lovely and big and nicely presented. The bathtub was large and the shower worked well. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Helen at the front desk was also wonderful and seemed to do everything. We also had breakfast, lunch and dinner on various days and the food was excellent and beautifully presented. Its a short walk to town but the bus to lake windemere leaves from just down the road. Parking was easy.

The fan made a horrible noise so had to be turned off.

We booked a 27m2 room but it was only 14m2. The staff insisted it was a Superior Room. We forfeited one of our three nights and went home early. Generally shabby hotel.

The room was spacious with 3 chairs. Unusual in our experience.

The dinner menu. Not changed over the week. No dietary provision eg gluten free, diabetic. No table for us on Friday when we arrived at appointed time. Large bus party in. We had been overlooked/ignored. No toilet brush provided!! Unheard of.

Costs can be a little ovepriced

Easy parking. Bed was very comforatble. Pool was very clean and perfect for a short swim. Some staff were friendly and helpful.

Room was not well planned out. Tiny shelf for tea and coffee facilities. Very hard and uncomfortable armchairs. Buffet part of breakfast only worked well when only a few guests were using it. When busy there was a long wait for slow toaster and buffet items were not replaced quickly enough (bread, croissants etc..)

We had dinner one night which was quite nice and breakfasts were also good. We appreciated the lift as my husband has a walking stick.

Room was quite small as well as the bathroom. Shower over the bath causes more problems with water all over the floor. There was no body wash, shampoo or conditioner except a very small bar of soap that could have been used for body and hair. Lucky for us I had my survival kit with me which included all of the above and more. The room we’re in now in Oban is smaller 😩but since being in Europe I’ve realised that anyone going overseas needs to book at least a superior room, not standard if you want more room.

The staff was great, the diner was great. Shower great.

Hotel under construction, missed that while booking. I think because of that the restaurant in not a nice setting. Matras needs replaced.
