Easy to find. Tea tray. Plenty of bedding for weather conditions.

Size of the shower room. No toilet brush. Shower tray very slippery. Lunch food orders with adjustments for items ignored.

Facilities snagging:- Room 6 toilet seat falling off Room 18 bathroom door difficult to open and close Both showers had intermittent hot water and pressure issues at differing times (late evening and early morning)

Everything we needed for our one night stay

Staff good. Not happy to be put in an outside mobile like structure because of the dog. Wasn't happy with dinner they did take my meal off the bill. Over cooked. I was most unhappy with a member of staff ironing in the dining room. Was told short staffed and they needed to do it there to watch clients.. Very unprofessional.

Staff Ironing linen in the dining room in front of guests. The quality of my meal was terrible inedible ,couldn't eat it. Toilet seat broken, bedside light broken and wobbly Laminate floor lifting in places and entrance mat slippery. When I informed the member of staff of my concerns there was no manager or senior person available till the morning.. Next day on leaving the person on reception was defensive and said no one else comp!ained. I have been in business for over 40 years and was always told the client was always right. A very disappointing stay and would not stay there again

Poor showers, loose toilet seat

The room was very poor for the price! I work all over the uk, this room else where would cost no more than £69 to £70 a night. The beds was so uncomfortable and the pillows was like sleeping on bricks. To get hot water in the shower we had to ask the staff, she said there is a Knack to it. I thought this day and age we should just turn the taps on! Sorry this place wasn't for us! And we wouldn't recommend it.

Sadly room was slightly on the small side,right next to the door coming up first floor so quite abit of foot traffic Window sill and around frame could use some attention Alot of flaky paint and unsightly black marks Wifi did not work on 2 devices

The room was clean, spacious, on the ground floor and away from the hotel public area so not affected by noise from the wedding reception there on the night we stayed.

No WiFi accessible in our room.

Location and amazing front line service folks and the amazing breakfast!

No WIFI in room 5 in the annex which is a more expensive room. I was told I could go to the bar to use wifi. The mattress was worse than the ones we gave prisoners in our police lock up and the pillows were super thin. We have stayed here many times since 2015 and this time was the last time. I cancelled our upcoming reservation for next week.

Can't fault it

The Location was good it was within ½ a mile of local facilities. The food we had was in the restraunt was nice.

For the price, I think the room we had was a little overpriced, but it's the area you're paying for. There was no room thermostat and the heated towel rail we couldn't find the switch to put it on, but we was only in the room for a few hours [excluding sleep] so it wasn't a big issue, it was just chilly getting out of the shower.

Annexe room was adequate for our one-night stay, clean and comfortable. No view though. Great evening meal despite lots of kids running around (suggest eating later to avoid). Breakfast was fantastic with great choices and served to table rather than buffet style.

Shortage of staff meant long waits at the bar to get a drink especially with bar staff also acting as Hotel Reception and dealing with customer queries. Needed at least two more for the number of people in the busy wedding function room and dining/lounge areas.

Receptionist was friendly Bar staff when arrived were a little sharp in nature and not really welcoming 2 customers walked out for some reason. Not attentive Breakfast had bruised fruit and not a great selection of hot food

We where celebrating our anniversary with family our table was lovely but the service was poor ,we asked for more drinks halfway through our meal and was told to go to the bar and order them but other people got drinks served at their table ,table was not cleaned up after each corse , went and seen another waitress she did apologised and cleaned the table and served us drinks, poor service

Hotel has a wonderful location for visiting the Outlet. This is our second visit to the hotel and will most certainly be back. Great choice of menu for both breakfast which is included in price and evening meal which is well priced.

The Breakfast was nice, it was convenient for our party at a nearby hotel

Rooms were outside hotel, i much prefer to be in the main hotel, but wernt made aware of this beforehand. Pillows on bed were hard and flat, mirror light didn't work in bathroom. Window and frame was dirty. Furniture was tatty and shabby in room. Walls were thin and you could clearly hear every word from residents in adjacent room. Not very private.

We have stayed here many times before and everything was excellent, this time was very different, we were staying in room 18 and it was right above the extractor fan for the kitchen which had a buzzing noise so it disturbed our sleep. The second night there was a reception party and the extractor fan

The picture is deceiving. Looks like a beautiful building but did not stay in this building. There was a row of units at the back that we were in. It was clean and beds comfortable but if you think you might stay in guest house, think again!

The location for visiting Gretna Green was ideal, also the rooms were clean and well equipped.

I have no negative’s to comment on.

The shower was hot and miss with hot water, was cold more often than warm. Bed was uncomfortable. Could not get out of the building on an evening, no explanation on how to exit the building on an evening. Staff on entering to check in was not available had to go searching for a member of staff.

The room was a lodge which I did not realize when I booked because I prefer to stay in a hotel bedroom. It was quite noisy late on in the night.

Our stay did not offer value for money. The ensuite was so small you struggled to get in and out. The room smelt of cheesey feet and BO. The bed was hard, lumpy and uncomfortable. the chair was threadbare and the window locks were broken. Also the curtains were not substantial enough to keep out light once the sun came up. Overall a very unhappy experience abd would not recommend.

Lovely welcome, the staff were great! Everything ready and waiting, clean modern room and a great bar and food all available on site. Plenty of parking too!

I liked the fact that we were in the outside bit because it was convenient as my husband has.mobility issues and he is a smoker and it meant he didn't need to struggle when he wanted a smoke he could just go out the door and there was a seat at the door he could sit on to smoke. Also really nice breakfast and good friendly staff.

I would have liked a couple of chairs in the room .

Location, great car parking - off street, lovely helpfull staff, generous meal portions...more than I could eat.

Bathroom..so small, no room to put anything. But great shower...but no room to move when you get out.

We really enjoyed our stay at Solway Lodge. The room was simple but clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we needed. Dinner was very good, as was breakfast, and the staff were all lovely. We really liked it and would happily return.

Solway Lodge is an excellent hotel. It is very clean, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a nice time there. The food is excellent we had dinner and breakfast and both meals were excellent and the staff serving them were friendly and polite.

Expensive for a dog stay for the size of the room, then you have to pay an extra £10 for the dog. Room off to the side of the hotel, adequate for a couple, but because we have a large dog and because of the heat there wasn’t really anywhere he could lie and he was getting quite stressed. We literally put our bags in the room, went into the hotel for food, then repacked the car and left. We did ask for a fan because the room was like an oven but told they wasn’t insured for fans.

Soulless room, but comfortable. No proper beer, just smooth flow stuff. It was a bit expensive but apparently that was because I’d used Booking.com.

Disappointing evening meal. Wife sent her meal back. Ordered the Chicken Curry but was made with poor quality Chicken and not a Chicken breast as advertised. Waitress was apologetic and offered another option.

The property itself was fantastic as was the food & staff. We certainly will be returning.

There was a 40th birthday party on in the function suit but they spent their time in the lounge which made it very noisy and we couldn’t have a conversation. Our friends and us had to go to bed after dinner as we couldn’t have a conversation. This is not a reflection on the hotel itself, just the party.

lovely setting and dining room, staff were friendly and attentive. food was of good quality. room was clean. upon leaving the owner also gave me a lift to the station free of charge. cannot fault the service.

only issue was the hair dryer not working properly in the room. to my fault, i should have raised this in the morning and i'm sure it would have been looked at immediately. other than that i cannot fault the hotel.

Stay was fine until going to bed , they'd put us in outside room and the noise from midnight 3 - 4 hours was horrendous. We don't know if staff or guests and wasn't going out to check. Drunken shouting etc. We were told breakfast was served between 7.30 - 9.00 am BUT couldn't get into hotel at all , all locked up , no staff about at all and nobody answered front of back doors. So no breakfast was served !!!! Another couple besides us had this same problem. We have already booked and paid to stay next Thursday night for bed and breakfast again otherwise we certainly would NOT go back again at all.

Noise , lack of breakfast , not staying inside actual hotel. Hardly any sleep . The thoughts of going back next Thursday is actually putting damper on our holiday.
