Staff were great along with home cooked excellent food
Location, cleanliness and helpful, kind staff!
Overnight stay to break up travel. Would do it again
Nothing really
The customer care was brilliant and communication prior was so easy. It was a family get together so was so important and the husband/wife team made us so welcome. The property was so clean and well cared for and having ample parking on site was great! Thank you
Nothing!
Location
Required some updating.
Location was great, staff were fabulous…breakfast was good.
.
Linda very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty ,well presented and worth the charge. Even as requested very small spoon of beans.plenty tea and coffee on the welcome tray. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Room was very comfortable, bright and cheery.
No words very happy.
Easy to get to, easy check in, comfortable stay.
Lovely
Nothing
The location was only approx 3 mins from the gretna hall hotel where friends were gettimg married. The staff were bery friendy & helpful. The room was clean & tidy too.
It was nice location and friendly owners just what we were after / nice coffee machine in room
Breakfast options My daughter just wanted bacon and egg but you have two choices
We booked the room as we were attending a wedding and needed somewhere to stay. The room was lovely and met our needs as all 4 adults could stay in the same room. It was value for money and the staff are very helpful
The hotel fell well below expected standards in all the key areas. it was overpriced , unclean, unhelpful and indifferent reception staff. It fell well below the three star rating and would be more suited to a roll within the state welfare system. To say this hotel was well past its best would be an understatement, its actually quite hard to find places this bad to stay in the UK, who actually cannot be bothered to repair window catches? I must say I did not chose to eat the the limited breakfast , or eat in the restraunt.
Used as stopover on way to Scotland. Got held up in traffic, but owner phoned and made special arrangements. Great room. Great beds. Fab night sleep
Nothing to criticise.
The food for the evening meal and breakfast was delicious.
Lovely and friendly location we had evening meal and breakfast great food quick service. Next time we are planning to come up this wat will definitely stay here again.
Many won't realise just how expensive accommodation in Gretna can be. This is due to the large wedding market they support, we weren't in Gretna for a wedding but prices don't care. Hunters Lodge was proving to be the best value for an actual hotel, but we discovered it's run with the guest house personal touch. Great car parking and superb location, the outlet "village" is a mere 5 minute walk, and I'd recommend walking as the car park here is a bit like dodgems ride, the hotel has been mentioned as a bit dated, but I think this added to the charm, we had a four poster bed and the room was spotless, great shower. Housekeeping did offer to do the room, but we were only a two night stay. They offer evening meal, but we only had breakfast which was excellent, due to value, hospitality and central location we will definitely be back..
It was an friendly welcoming Good area to be staying in only 5 minutes away where we needed to go for a wedding. Shopping centre was just down the road which was perfect. Clean outside and inside too. The staff was lovely. Food was lovely
It was just mainly in our room one of the cold tap wasn’t working so had to use the one in the bathroom to fill up my baby prep machine for his bottle. The kettle was very dusty outside. The shower wasn’t the best wasn’t powerful enough but it did it job.
The Hunters lodge is not luxurious. Although it is comfortable. Clean and friendly. I would happily stay there again. Bed was very comfortable bathroom was decent and the room itself spacious and as I said clean and tidy. Plenty of coffee and tea provided. Extras included are Iron, hairdryer. Storage for clothes etc was good. The breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. Ample parking.
Difficult to say. I dont really have any negatives. It depends upon your expectation I suppose. As I said not luxurious but I was happy.
Hunters Lodge Hotel was our last stop on the way home from a fantastic 12 days in Scotland, location was perfect, room was nice and quiet (even for a main road), bed was super-comfortable and the gluten free breakfast option went down a treat.
What could have been better? absolutely nothing, this hotel easily met my expectations.
Cosy feeling, friendly staff
Shower had not much power
Very welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and very clean and comfortable room.

Дуже чисто. Приємні господарі
We stayed at Hunters Lodge Hotel while attending a wedding at Springkell, and it was the perfect choice. The hotel was exceptionally clean – honestly, I couldn't find a single speck of dust anywhere, including in the beautiful bridal suite where we stayed. The location was ideal, being easy to find and perfectly situated for Gretna Outlet Village. Linda, the owner, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She gave us excellent advice about local taxis, which made getting to and from the wedding completely stress-free. She also had no issue with our friends coming to our room to get changed before we all left, which we really appreciated. We decided to add a cooked breakfast when we arrived, and we're so glad we did. The portions were just right, everything was delicious, and the haggis was especially good! Fantastic value for money, spotless accommodation, and wonderful hospitality. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Nothing.
It suited us for a one. Night stay
In a good location to break up a return journey from Scotland!
A bit dated… but ok
Excellent breakfast, and evening meal, very helpful staff, great location.
Bed was a bit firm for us.
Great hospitality, good food, quiet room.
The location was good, close to the shops and not a far drive to Carlisle Staff super friendly The bedroom was cosy and clean
The cobwebs in the dining room on the curtains, The food was bland, no flavour Black currant and lemonade tasted like dish water and the glasses weren’t clean and for the price of the room for one night I found it expensive, no breakfast included and an extra £40 on meals. Made it an expensive stay.
Warm welcome, owner super helpful. Lots of parking space.
Lovely lady on reception
NA

There is not an awful lot to say.The weather was nice. As the wording below.
Excellent all round
Breakfast was as expected, typical breakfast served, cereal, yoghurt, toast and full breakfast, let them know what and don't want. Definitely visit again, bus into Carlisle stop outside hotel.

Very friendly host and good evening meal. Very comfortable bed and ample parking. A good nights sleep.
Loud fan in en suite but otherwise all great.
Very efficient friendly / helpful owner . Excellent home cooked dinner .
Position of hotel was good
A little dated and some dust in places
No complaints. I would happily stay there again. It was a very convenient stop between North Wales and Perth.
We had an evening meal and breakfast. Both meals were very enjoyable. Catered for gluten free diet which was fantastic. Linda was so friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed at Hunters Lodge in Getna and found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, which made our visit pleasant. However, the hotel itself feels a bit dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. Our room had a broken chair, and the shower was quite small, which was a little disappointing. The hotel is conveniently located near a shopping outlet, but there isn’t much else to do or see in the immediate area. We arrived late and struggled to find somewhere nearby to eat, so planning ahead for meals might be a good idea. Overall, it’s a decent place for a short stay, especially if you value friendly service, but it could use some updating to improve the overall comfort and experience.

The value for money and friendly owner. This hotel ticked all the boxes for us so was exceptionally well priced!
Such a lovely cosy wee hotel, ideal for an overnight stay. Very hospitable, lovely rooms, restaurant on site and a cracking cooked breakfast! Excellent value for money.
Good location- just off M6 and near to shopping centre. Good parking

The look of the building, linda was an exceptional hostess, and the decor was beautiful. The bed was super comfy, and the food was excellent, the history of the location is great to hear and see
If you have a difficulty on stairs, do request a ground floor.
Very friendly family hotel. We enjoyed an evening meal there too
Nice warm quiet room separate from the main hotel. Evening meal was fantastic
Olde worldly and oozing lots of atmosphere which is what we were looking 🤔🤔for whilst staying in Scotland.
🤔 … Property ticked all our boxes!
We use this hotel as a stopover on our journey North and visit to the Blacksmith shop in Gretna Green which is very close by.
Loved the room & the fact there was free parking on the premises. Staff were lovely, despite me arriving an hour later than expected due to severe traffic delays & torrential rain. I would definately stay again.
The only thing, and a very minor one, the continental breakfast was perfectly adequate & nice. However, there was little variety with just cereal, yogurt & toast. Porridge and/or fruit & croissants would have been good. It was good value though at £6.50 - would have paid more in a cafe or chain coffee shop. I would definately stay again & this is a minor, constructive comment.
Cosy and clean hotel. Nice owners. Good tasty food. Value for money. Good location.
lovely place to stay. the staff were really helpful.
always ask if it's possible for a later checkout. 10am was a little early for us. the staff were great and let us stay in the lounge area as we had a wedding to go to later in the day.
The staff and location
Bar area wasn't much atmosphere and prices 14.50 for a apporol spritz
The property looked like it was upgrading. Our room was great. The dining and reception area was great. The receptionist was sweet and super helpful. Would recommend.
Great central location. Friendly staff. Very tasty food.
It needs a bit of an update.
Food was good
Nothing to complain about

The family room was brilliant. Really big space and comfortable beds for everyone. Our host was really friendly and helpful and the food was homemade and delicious
O quarto é excelente e o atendimento é excelente. Somente o café da manhã deixou a desejar, muito simples e extremamente regulado. Paguei um café continental, deixou muito a desejar. No mais foi tudo bom

Maybe needs a lick of paint but overall it's a lovely building
Nice property
Windows leaking badly Flooded window cill
Beds were comfortable, a perfect home from home
Four poster bed felt very unsafe and unstable, (shakes around when moving). Dust and cobwebs on ceilings. No lock on bathroom door!
Lovely welcoming staff, clean comfortable room and en-suite. On site bar and restaurant served freshly cooked home made meals and daily specials which were delicious, bar cosy and comfortable
