The old world elegance of the rooms. The location was great. The staff gave excellent instructions on how to arrive and park in their courtyard.

The lighting was very poor in the bathroom. A few burnt out lights.

The hotel is right in the old centre of town so easy walks to interesting sites. The staff were very helpful and provided a great recommendation for dinner a short walk away. The old salons on the first floor were amazing. Parking at the hotel was convenient, and the staff guided us over the phone to find the place when we got lost. The rooms were air conditioned. Breakfast had a decent selection of foods and good coffee.

Whilst the room had a kettle, it had only glasses and no cups, tea or coffee provided. The room, a junior suite, was spacious but a little tired and the double room that our friend booked seemed more recently renovated. The roof terrace was a great spot for a drink in the evening but the bar was not operating - we brought our own drinks instead.

The location is amazing. The staff were helpful, especially Ivan, who was a superstar. They parked our car for us in the courtyard, which is otherwise difficult to access.

There was a discotheque party right next to our room until midnight on our first night. No compensation was offered.

La chambre était en fait un véritable appartement magnifique dans le palais qui ressemble plus à un musée qu'à un hôtel : statues, tableaux, mobilier d'époque...Les fenêtres de la salle de bain donnaient sur la vallée du Torrente Gravina avec une vue superbe. Le palais est situé dans la vieille ville et jouxte la basilique, la proximité avec la vieille ville, les restaurants... Un parking surveillé et économique à dix minutes à pied de l'hôtel. Il est toutefois possible de venir en voiture dans la cour du palais, mais nous avons préféré laisser la voiture dans le parking publique à proximité. Possibilité d'aller sur le toit terrasse afin d'admirer la vue sur la vallée et la vieille ville pour prendre des photos ou profiter du coucher de soleil.

Eine außergewöhnliche Location - mitten in dieser außergewöhnlichen Stadt - in einem Palazzo, in dem die Zeit still zu stehen scheint. Nicht aber im Komfort! Alles perfekt restauriert, absolut beeindruckend! Auch die Zimmer im Steingewölbe mit direktem Blick auf die Altstadt. Der Weg zum Frühstück ist eine Zeitreise, durch unzählige prunkvolle Säle mit Gemälden und Kunst an allen Ecken, sehr beeindruckend. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die Dachterrasse mit grandiosem Ausblick über ganz Matera. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und durften unser Motorrad sogar im Innenhof parken. In wenigen Gehminuten waren wir in der historischen Altstadt oder konnten Szenen aus Mel Gibsons Passion nachvollziehen. Der Aufenthalt hat uns ehr gut gefallen!

De locatie is geweldig vlakbij het Piazza Duomo. Het hotel heeft een unieke historische uitstraling waar je het gevoel krijgt in een paleis te overnachten. Het terras op de derde verdieping geeft een prachtig uitzicht op Matera. De classic kamer is prima en heeft comfortabele bedden en is voorzien van airconditioning. Ontbijt is erg goed verzorgd. Parkeren kan tegen betaling op de binnenplaats van het hotel. Het personeel is vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam.

Rimelig plads og dejligt bad; stille og centralt. Dejlig seng og renlighed. Ikke dårlig morgenmad. Stedet lignede et kunstmuseum, med masser af dejlig malerier på væggene.

La situation.

O Palazzo era muito bonito tinha várias salas muito bem cuidadas, um verdadeiro palácio numa localização excelente. Dali visitámos a pé o principal a ver nas Sassi de Matera. O quarto era muito grande, muito confortável e bem decorado, com vistas magníficas. O staff foi muito simpático, tendo estacionado o carro no pátio interior, cuja entrada oferecia alguma dificuldade, e aconselhado trajetos turísticos e restaurantes. O pequeno almoço muito bom numa sala magnífica.

Beautiful property, we loved the traditional feel of an authentic palace, whilst being very comfortable.

Todo! El lugar espectacular, te transporta en el tiempo.. Todas las estancias son un museo. La ubicación perfecta y sobre todo el servicio y la atención de Giuseppe que fue excelente, desde antes de la entrada, hasta la salida. El desayuno también variado, todo buenísimo y con opciones sin gluten.

El lugar es espectacular! Te mandan antes de llegar las instrucciones de cómo llegar, tiene una terraza con una vista impactante! El desayuno excelente y el Palacio es un sueño, nos encantó! Dato no menos e importante TIENE GARAGE!

The location was fantastic, our rooms had amazing views over the town and we were a very short walk to restaurants and bars. Staff were very helpful, getting us some tea cups for the room and booking a walking tour for us.

As mentioned by other reviewers the instructions to the parking were difficult to follow and we ended up parking, walking the route and then returning by car. kettle in the room but no cups only glasses

Excelente ubicación. Un palacio con mucho glamour y arte. Cada ambiente finamente decorado con exquisito gusto. Muy buena predisposición del personal para ayudar a que la estadía sea agradable. Recomendable.

En nuestro caso tuvimos que requerir una cama adicional. Si bien agradecemos la predisposición para satisfacer nuestro pedido, la cama adicional no tenía la comodidad esperada.

Il palazzo ricco di storia e accogliente

Migliorerei la questione auto-parcheggio. La logistica funziona ma è un peccato portare tutte le auto fino al cuore di Matera antica. Valuterei la possibilità di un parcheggio esterno alla ZTL con servizi di navetta (elettrica', perché no) che accompagnino gli ospiti al palazzo.

2 lot of the 3 Jr suites refrigerators didn’t work. We were provided with ice shock was very nice of them however I feel that a 4 star hotel should have better grip of their amenities and their functionality . We had a newborn and a nursing mom who needed till have a working fridge.

Most fabulous hotel we stayed in our whole trip, even though we spent less than at some of the others. This building stands out because it is a spacious palazzo, not a cramped cavelike dwelling. There is even parking available. The shared spaces are museum-like with really fabulous paintings everywhere. Our suite was palatial and had amazing views, I have included a photo of the view from our bathroom, and one of our living room. The service was very personalized and attentive.

Absolutely amazing palace next to the Duomo ... the room was massive the ceilings were high and the bed huge. It ticked all the boxes and the breakfast delicious. We paid for parking in their courtyard and it was worth it, they parked the car and it was super convenient. What a beautiful spot. I would highly recommend

We had a very enjoyable stay. The property itself is truly unique, set in a historic building with an incredible atmosphere and character. Staying here felt like an experience rather than just a hotel stay. For the architecture, ambience, and overall setting, I would definitely give it 10/10. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. There was occasionally a small language barrier, as some team members mainly spoke Italian rather than English, but this was never a significant issue and certainly didn’t affect our overall experience. The Wi-Fi was quite poor, but I don’t consider this a reason to lower my rating. Given the property’s location in the historic cave district of Matera, I understand that internet connectivity can be challenging, so this is something I can overlook. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Matera, making it the perfect base for exploring the historic center on foot. The hotel also offers a private courtyard parking area, which was extremely convenient, although it costs €30 per day and is not included in the room rate. Overall, I would happily stay here again if I return to Matera, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable stay in this beautiful city.

The main reason I’m giving a 9 instead of a 10 is the breakfast. While the quality was good, the variety was somewhat limited. More importantly, there was clearly a shortage of staff. A single person was responsible for preparing coffees, serving guests, clearing tables, and constantly refilling the buffet. It was simply too much work for one person, which resulted in delays and several items not being replenished promptly. I believe adding another staff member during breakfast service would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

Matera lenyűgöző! El kell tölteni ott egy éjszakát de inkább kettőt. Különleges a város esti fényekkel kivilágított atmoszférája, Utazásaim egyik legcsodálatosabb élménye. A szállodai szobából panoráma a városra, és egy tetőterasz, ahonnan lélegzetelállító a táj. Mi május 2-án voltunk, akkor nem működött még a tetőteraszon a bár, de a látvány gyönyörű volt. Csodálatos élmény.

Érthetetlen volt számunkra, hogy csak egy fent rögzített zuhanyfej volt. Hiányzott a kézi tusoló. Talán csak férfi vendégekre vártak? Hihetetlen, hogy így újították fel a hotelt. Nem gondoltak arra, hogy kézi tusolót is tervezzenek. Érdekes, ez téma volt a a vendégek között, az asztali beszélgetéseknél. A nők hiányolták. Mi is. A hotelhez autóval nehéz eljutni. Küldnek előtte pontos leírást, de izgalmas az óvároson, turisták között eljutni a hotelbe. Ott aztán már szépen beparkolja a személyzet az autót. Utólag már szép emlék, de előtte izgultunk.

Falta mantenimiento. La llave de la puerta no funcionaba (tuvieron q venir varias veces y conseguimos hacer un apaño pero no se podía cerrar con vueltas y no era tan seguro). El teléfono tampoco funcionaba. Bañera bonita pero incómoda y muy poco práctica (tenías q agacharte para no echar agua fuera de la bañera). Se echa de menos una ducha. Falta de variedad de frutas en el desayuno.

Es un palacio hermoso con unas habitaciones excepcionales de grandes y lujosas , ademas el desayuno en esos salones renancentistas es de pelicula , es como vivir una pelicula

Non ci è stato comunicato che dovevamo lasciate la chiave in reception prima di uscire, quindi al nostro ritorno in nottata abbiamo trovato il portone d'ingresso chiuso in quanto in reception non avevano la nostra chiave e pensavano che stessimo in stanza. Siamo stati quasi "rimproverati" per non aver lasciato la chiave ma, appunto, non sapevamo di doverlo fare. La pulizia della stanza non era eccezionale, c'erano cumuli di polvere negli angoli e macchie di umidità sulle piastrelle della vasca da bagno. La colazione poco assortita.

La posizione e la location d’epoca molto ben mantenuta la possibilità di parcheggiare dentro l’hotel.

Qualche carenza nella pulizia della stanza. Forse un po di polvere.

An exceptional hotel and a truly unforgettable stay! The property feels like a real palace, combining elegance. The location is perfect, with the entire historic center of Matera just a short walk away, making it easy to explore everything on foot. The staff was welcoming and professional, and everything throughout our stay was excellent.

The breakfast was relatively simple, but it included everything you need and the quality was very good. We would definitely choose this hotel again and highly recommend it.

Be good to have a gym in one of the large spaces in the Palazzo

The Palazzo is in an excellent location, although a little confusing to access. Our first impression of the property was WOW!! The staff were extremely helpful and so nice. Our room was absolutley huge and with a view to die for. If you go you must look around the whole palazzo as it is like a museum inside. Breakfast was just ok, nothing spectacular. I would definatley recommend and would stay here again myself.

A lovely hotel, situated close to the Duomo and very quiet. The building is rather grand with some almost museum like rooms. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Our large room was very comfortable with a lovely view over the country side. Breakfast was excellent. Shops and restaurants are an easy walk.

Driving to the hotel could be a problem if you don't follow their directions. The streets are very narrow and, at busy times, very crowded with sightseers. At 30 euros a night on-site, parking was very expensive but made life easier.
