Good location for our weekend and great breakfast
Bit expensive but demand was high that weekend
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast. Location is in the centre of Arundel and there is free on road parking within walking distance.
Nothing.
We loved everything about the room except for the dirty exterior windows in the bedroom and bathroom.
Relaxing stay. Good value. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Delicious breakfast.
All fine.
Great hotel/pub in a beautiful town. The room was lovely with great bed and bedding. Staff were great and really friendly and helpful.
The shower! No pressure, you have to run around in it to get wet! Hardly any pressure. Dynamic pricing. This hotel is really convenient for Goodwood and so the room was double its normal price as the Goodwood Revival was on.
Great choice and excellent quality for breakfast. The full healthy option was exceptional and unusual. Location was terrific, right in the centre of town. Comfortable bedroom but shower needed attention.

Fantastic Location, clean and comfortable facilities with a great countryside vibe
Lovely hotel, well furnished and decorated. A very good range of refreshments and biscuits. Lovely touch to have bath robes and sleepers.
Nothing
Location and price were spot on
No special rate for parking
We were upgraded on arrival to a lovely room with a view over the street. Staff were great and breakfast was really good.
There was no HSB or London Pride available at the bar due to a delivery error.
Comfortable, clean and professionally run
Great location
Food was great , good area
Snug room far to small especially with a dog , beds to high , these things need to be explained in the advertising wood be hazardous for more elderly people .
The breakfast was great and the location perfect
The room was so incredibly tiny with a very small window. It was really claustrophobic. The towels were dirty, the shower also tiny and water not draining and the toilet seat came loose every time you sat on it. Really not good value for money
Nice hotel. Lovely staff the area was great
The room was small
The Swan is situated in the heart of the town so an excellent location for us to stay during the festival. It is very clean and the staff were very friendly. The stand out member of staff was Sarah, who couldn't have been more friendly, helpful and efficient and made us feel at home. We had an air conditioned room which made for a pleasant and comfortable sleep at night. The food was also of a high standard.
Unfortunately Sarah had a day off and we missed her when she wasn't around. Just goes to show what a treasure you have as a member of your staff
Breakfast was great. Room was great. Dinner in restaurant was great. Localtion was awesome. Parking was in VERY nearby carpark (£9.70 for full day from 8am). Staff were all excellent.
personnel très sympa, dans un très bel hôtel parfaitement placé
We had a wonderful stay at this charming small hotel. The interior design is beautiful, thoughtful, and cozy, with high-quality furnishings and great attention to detail throughout. The breakfast was excellent, offering high-quality products and a great selection. We also really enjoyed the beautiful restaurant, which perfectly complements the hotel's stylish atmosphere. From check-in to check-out, every staff member was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Sarah, who was an absolute gem and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Highly recommended!
Gorgeous building, with lovely rooms decorated in a period style to match the building. As it was a really hot few days we really appreciated the bottles of water in our room. As well as the amazing homemade shortbread! Super friendly and helpful staff and great food.
Loved the decor of the room and friendly staff. Great location
Not much not to like
La posizione, la gentilezza del personale, la qualità del cibo (abbiamo cenato).
Migliorabile la qualità del materasso della camera N 7
Convenient location, nice room.
No parking, many items on menu ran out.
Very considerate and helpful staff. Good food.
Steep stairs. Unfortunately a feature of old building.
Very good breakfast, friendly staff and comfortable room.
Nothing.
The bedroom was beautiful with the best bed I have ever slept in. The decor was gorgeous throughout the hotel. The staff were fantastic, especially the lady who checked us in. Great breakfast with good quality ingredients. The location of the hotel is perfect.
The bathroom was not great. There was sawdust behind the loo and the loo seat was falling off. It looked bare and the water pressure was low.
Great room and a delicious roast
Great staff, nice spacious decorated rooms, great food. We were very welcomed.
Being pedantic but beds are quite overcrowded with cushions and quite high up, but very minor.
Location, staff , accommodation, good food
A little loud with other guests getting in late at night
Located in centre of beautiful Arundel. No parking but there was a public car park directly behind £9.40 for 24 hours. Room well appointed with tea, Nespresso coffee machine, water and biscuits. Dyson fan. Bed exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was superb. Staff very friendly.
Renovated in June to a high standard. Exceptional staff including Yvonne, the waiting staff at breakfast and young man who checked us in at 3pm. Never expected so great & high standard from a pub restaurant hotel.
A blessing in disguise but TV did not work so could enjoy room and hotel.
Room was lovely and comfortable. Nice touch of water each day Breakfast was amazing Even though no parking, the car park at the back is less than 100 yards away. Ideal location for all of Arundel and beyond
We adored it. Our room had a view of the castle, a comfortable bath and shower which all worked perfectly, and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed our breakfast in the morning in the cosy room beside the bar, and had direct access to every part of the town we wanted to see.
Fantastic luxury stay in a luxurious location, I believe the rooms had recently been refurbished and it showed with a comfortable stay followed by an excellent breakfast.
The price point was closer to top end luxury for this style of property, I can't fault it but it was priced at a premium, I'd imagine you could look at a private rental for a similar price.
All good except for confusion with seating for dinner and managers non involvement with ensuring all was well.
Manager not helpful with regard to dinner booking.
Great location and lovely Pub/Hotel
Felt it was a little expensive at £230 per night
Location, friendly staffs,

excellent breakfast and choice nice decor and touches to room - water shortbread tea/coffee etc, fan roomy shower and nice toiletries robes and slippers
very small room. hung clothes from pictures as not enough hanging space Hand Shower broken when we arrived - but was fixed. Toilet seat broken - told was fixed but still same - kept sliding to side -so had to be careful. very high bed and so soft - couldn't sit on it without falling off ! Breakfast service slow -forgot us first day and slow on second. Avocado left off the veggie option - as with person next to us. Didn't like chef sitting down next to us to chat while we were eating
Staff really helpful & friendly. Had one of the luxury rooms which was worth the extra ££s. Great veggie breakfast options
Not so great evening meal veggie options
Wonderful place and lovely staff. The best place during our roadtrip in south of England. We warmly recommend!
Nothing.
Frukosten var fantastisk med ett brett erbjudande.
L’emplacement, le petit déjeuner et le personnel
Impossible d’ouvrir les fenêtres et cet été il fait particulièrement chaud
The most wonderful staff, we were well looked after Well appointed room, clean, great food Will come back!
Staff, Room ,Location,
It was overal good
Thanks for everything. Super breakfast.
Excellent location with carpark very close by. Modern bathroom
The location was superb. Close to town & the Castle. The staff were very polite & helpful. The room was very well appointed with an upright fan, dressing gowns & slippers, tea & coffee provided & delicious shortbread biscuits.
The toilet wouldn’t flush properly. Staff looked at the problem prior to arranging professional help.
Room was clean and full of nice touches, like bottled still and sparkling water, coffee pod machine, good fan (as temps were high outside) etc. Lovely breakfast.
Great hotel , good value and food lovely
Mycket trevlig personal och rummet var mysigt och välstädat. Mycket god frukost med god kunskap om och alternativ för glutenintolerans.
Very pleasant staff, especially Yvonne who served our breakfast. She is a delight - great stories and tips for local places to visit. So much more enjoyable than the blank faces so often serving in hotels. Very comfortable beds and the A/C machine in our room was very welcome. Generous bottles of water replaced daily and even a little bottle of milk for in-room coffee. Someone has really thought through the customer experience at The Swan and got it right.
Didn't much enjoy the motor cycle club gathering for their outing outside our window but cant blame the hotel for that
The location was excellent, the staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Newly refurbished to excellent standard
Absolutely superb hotel. Very recently refurbished to a high standard. Our room was spotlessly clean and very nicely furnished. The food in the restaurant was excellent, a wide range of dishes superbly cooked using quality products. Breakfast was also excellent. Great location for visiting the castle and the town centre. The staff were excellent, polite and helpful. This hotel is very highly recommended.
Ideally situated. Clean and well laid out

Great location, recently refurbished, lovely food, very friendly staff

Breakfast was excellent
Needs lock on bathroom door room 4
Clean and close to amenities
The staff were so kind and friendly, they were also really helpful. The rooms were decorated beautifully and the amenities were excellent. The bed was really comfortable and the breakfast was amazing. 10/10 recommend.
Only that there wasn’t air con in the rooms and it was a heatwave however the room did come with a Dyson tower fan which was helpful in the heat. The air con isn’t really a criticism as the hotel is an old pub so it’s not feasible to have air con.
Both breakfast were perfect, as an ex hotelier it was great to see proper training of young staff, they are your future. Nurture them and encourage them to try (stay free training evaluations) and work at other properties.
Minor thing no parking, maybe negotiate with parking company so it can be made easier. There WiFi isn’t always very good so time wasted by your clients.
Very clean and cared for. Great location.
Great location and fantastic breakfast.
Beautiful
There wasn’t anything not to like
Recently refurbished rooms. Excellent rooms and bath. My only minor niggle is the bed whilst very comfortable was a little high and my wife struggled to get onto the bed 😁 The staff were very helpful, full of local information and very attentive for a lovely breakfast
Very good furnishings and decor ideally located for Castle. Very impressed to have a Dyson fan provided for hot weather !
A glass bathroom door even though it was opaque isn’t ideal. To be really picky what the room was missing was a mini fridge.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent comfortable super king bed. Good shower.
No sitting outside space.
Tutto! Stanza grande e luminosa, bagno moderno, letto comodo, tutto pulitissimo. Bella bella bella! Posizione eccezionale, al castello ci si va a piedi!!!
Nulla!
Heel stijlvol ingericht, lief personeel en een hele goede creatieve keuken (zowel ontbijt als avondeten)! Netjes en schoon, fijne plek.
Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.
The loo seat was keen on unseating one at a jaunty angle! The window actually came out of the frame!
Sehr schönes, neu renoviertes Hotel mitten in Arundel. Liebevoll gestaltete Zimmer, perfekter Service. Ein Juwel unter englischen Gasthäusern. Ich wäre gerne länger geblieben. Das Bett war ein Traum und ich habe mich rundum wohl gefühlt.

The furnishings, bed comfort, decor.
I noticed on the Sunday morning when the chef brought my eggs Benedict that his nails were filthy. It put me off my food. I couldn’t eat my breakfast. I was very shocked as we’d eaten the day before and had an evening meal.
My partner and I have spent the weekend hiking in Arundel and The Swan hospitality at the end of the day was everything we needed. The cozy environment and friendly staff will make you feel like home. Location is excellent - 2 -3 minutes walking distance from the castle, restaurants at the door step, and parking facilities at the back. Highly recommended! Thank you for making our stay comfortable and hassle free x
None
Superb breakfast, and restaurant offering pretty good as well - serving staff for both were excellent too. Location very central and handy for the castle. There is no hotel parking, but there is a public car park at reasonable price just behind the hotel.
Unfortunately we were there during the 35C June heatwave - there was no aircon in the room and the nights were very uncomfortable as a result (I knew there was no aircon when I booked, just hadn't bargained for the heatwave) - the hotel had provided a fan, but the window in the bathroom was painted shut and it was difficult to get any air through the room during the night. Would stay there again, if visiting at cooler times of the year, or even in summer as long as I left to last minute and checked weather forecast beforehand.
The staff were all nice and helpful. Rooms were very well equipped and comfortable. Breakfast was very good with good options. Ps. Thank you to the nice for tips where to visit.
Staff were very helpful, breakfast was very good and room was just OK. Didn't get to spend any more time than we had to in the room as heat was unbearable...
This hotel is not fit for hot temperatures. Our room was basically in the loft and sleep was impossible ( 28°+ )...I appreciate that it is an old building but they should do something about it ( a useless fan is not enough)...specially as they've just reopened after big improvements. Also, hot temperatures are only going to be more of a recurrence.
it was a pub so the rooms were all noice and of a good standard.
The room was in an attic space limited headroom in toilet
Good location, food service and accommodation

Great location, very friendly staff, super comfortable new beds, Wonderful food, breakfast was great value.

Very clean and comfortable.
Very friendly staff, new and clean rooms easy parking nearby and super central
Nothing
Excellent breakfast with plenty of healthy alternatives to the usual Full English breakfast, plus lots of fruit etc. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Our room was in the eaves, very nice, but a bit hot, so a fan would have been appreciated. But other than that, nothing.
Staff were excellent, and in particular Yvonne who made us most welcome. The room was very comfortable, and the pub itself was very nice too. Breakfast was very good - plenty of choice and good quality. I would stay again
The Staff
Alles war frisch renoviert. Das Bad ist jetzt sehr modern und super sauber. Das Essen ist köstlich.
Die historischen Fenster sind nicht ganz dicht.
Great location, lovely comfy room and great food for evening meal and breakfast . Very friendly helpful staff.
Beautiful hotel recently refurbished
Arundel centrality
Could do better in the hotel info indicating closest, merits etc. Hi Hu
Newly refurbished and re-opened we were pleasantly surprised to find a warm welcome, friendly accommodating staff. There were a couple of snagging issues in the rooms, but they were fixed immediately. The menus and food were great choice, good value for money and delicious too. Breakfast was great value, good quality and such a huge choice too. Our room was clean, great coffee machine and water included. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in & feather pillows too - fantatic. Will definitely recommend.
Clean and new, staff where good when there, have been poor since have ignored communication
Tv didn’t work all weekend, we booked for a relaxing weekend and the weather was really bad so to have a 3 night stay with no TV was disappointing More disappointing was when checking out unprompted the lady behind the desk said she would call on the day to give a partial refund. There was no call and since they have ignored all communication, the 3 night stay wasn’t cheap so has let it down
Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent
Really nice place and totally central to everything you need. Also fab little car park right behind it so no problems with parking at all. Right in centre of high street. Lovely place. Staff lovely too.
The only thing was there were no side cabinets.
Super mooi hotel, alles heel schoon, en het personeel is fantastisch, niets is teveel, echt heel erg genoten! Heel comfortabel bedden, eten in het restaurant was heel lekker en ook het ontbijt top, alles vers en mooi opgediend.
Niets
Check in was easy but unfortunately the TV wasn’t working. We also found that the toilet seat was loose and the rain head shower was leaking. The managers addressed all these issues with a smile and a free meal. Apparently the hotel had just been refurbished and these issues were just little snagging issues. Big shout to Lee and Yvonne who dealt with all the issues raised
Sehr zentrale Lage.
Pleasant and homey atmosphere, comfy bed, good food and drink, quiet and inviting, good location.
The rooms are on the small side but that is understandable for an old inn, wasn't a problem.
The bed was so comfy and quiet at night the breakfast was gorgeous and location perfect
Didn't like the room size it was a very small double as stated but it actually was too small. The bathroom had the biggest sink in it too which took up all thr space, there wasn't a light bulb in the main light. We had to get ready for a wedding and it was hard going.
There did appear to be a stumble with my reservation but the room given to me was still lovely and financial corrections were made by the extremely friendly manager. The included breakfast consisted of a lovely continental containing fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals and pastries, along with scrumptious hot items to order. Dinner at the pub was delicious and the bartender made a great whiskey sour. Also the facility is dog friendly giving a doggie welcome bag and sitting in the pub was fun with all the fury friends.
Lovely hotel. Great breakfast. Fabulous location.
The hotel had only been open a couple of days since its refurbishment. A tiny couple of points: the bathroom bin in our room hadn’t been emptied and the breakfast was missing a couple of things compared to the menu (toast and hash brown). Later points were swiftly and efficiently dealt with !!
Good location for exploring the town. Lovely breakfast.
Sadly I suffered a burn from the heated towel rail that did not have a thermostat on it. Management were informed.
Location perfect. Staff excellent and very helpful
Bed needs to be larger and pillows very poor
