The hotel had been booked to use as a base for the night for a event in another location They learnt it was my Birthday, I was wished a Happy Birthday on arrival & received a upgraded room On Entering there I was left a Birthday card & complementary bottles of Prosecco & wine On Check out which was a different member of staff to check in I was asked if I had , had a good Birthday staff were so friendly x
Le petit déjeuner compris dans prestation qui est copieux et à volonté 😃!
Parking privé payant, sans autre possibilité de stationnement 🤨 !!
Room was clean & bed comfortable It was possible to open the secured window a bit
I was unhappy about having to pay £8 for parking which was not advised in the confirmation, also Location was out of the town There wasn't a glass in the room We had to wait for a long time for our main meals to be served after one couple in our group had a starter No fried egg available at breakfast, although when asked they were supplied but too late as I had eaten my breakfast
The shower and room size was good
Room cleanliness was not good with previous guest's hair in the shower and the sides were not recently cleaned. The carpets on the stairs were filthy. Main meal first night was cold and had to be sent back. Main meal second night (burger and chips) took over an 1 hour 25 minutes to arrive. Other guests even longer! Breakfast on both days was cold at 07.05. Breakfast started at 7am.
Staff very helpful and friendly Location good
Car parking if booking through an online site is an extra charge Lots of potential but lots of work needs to be done to bring this hotel to the standard they are charging per night. Had to request a change of room as first room had no accessible sockets and mattress springs could be felt when i sat on the bed, Receptionist very helpful in finding an alternative room, which was a vast improvement on the first. Restaurant - Waited an hour for service and food to arrive. - Food was good when it did Will try again in 6-12 months when current issues are hopefully resolved.
good breakfast, location
free parking should really be a given in that rural area
Lovely rooms, excellent staff, very comfortable beds and breakfast was exceptional. Close to airport
Shouldn’t have to pay extra to park. Already paying to stay there. Felt ripped off.
The place was great but the food service was absolutely terrible. Left waiting for so long after ordering and everyone was complaining. Not just one night either it was 2 as they can't handle volume! Also rooms not changed between nights!
Easy to find and parking was a plenty - the two ladies on reception were very pleasant, smiley and friendly and extremely helpful - arrived slightly earlier than expected and was noted that my room wasn't ready and was given a complimentary drink on the establishment for the delay. When my room was ready, Olivia, who was one of those from reception brought my key to me and then went above and beyond by taking me personally to it - it is those little extra tweaks that other hotels lack. Room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a restaurant - The Pearl - that has a normal pub grub type menu and a Sir Lankan one - I went for the latter and was very tasty though the potions to some might look a bit small.
Firstly, the sting of being charged £8.00 to park your car which it did not mention in booking. Secondly, what lets this hotel down is the lack of communication between management, staff and guests. Went down for my evening meal and the food looked fantastic but it seemed to be brought out in no order - some guests had had their starters but waited ages for their mains - others had some food delivered but only half the tables order arrived - floor staff walked about dropping plates at tables but not clearing and seemed to have given up - then announce that there was only one chef on - poor management knowing that a large trade show was on in the area and the hotel had extra guests. My food - starters and mains came out altogether which I was happy just to eat but others who had ordered way before me were still waiting. Bar also had a lot of beers run out as well - one table ordered a bottle of wine which was taken from a fridge but it was warm. Breakfast was a buffet affair but most guests seemed not happy with it - it was pleasant enough though did notice where I sat there was still some dried rice from the night before.
View was pretty
Food was more than 1 and a half hours late and poorly cooked. My room was above reception and music played loudly day and night. Shower screen had big gap at bottom which meant water all over the floor making it dangerously slippery. Overall, everything is tatty and poorly maintained.
Staff were great as I had some issues with a fall so they helped with bringing breakfast one day to my room
Dreadfully old fashioned room, tread bare carpet, old bathroom, very old fridge in the room and rotten wood work in the room
The room was large with comfortable beds. Good air conditioning. And friendly helpful staff.
Parking charge of £8 was a surprise but not to expensive.
The staff were nice and helpful, and the room was large and well furnished. Good breakfast, especially the pastries.
Some slight ingrained mould in the bathroom
Tanisha and staff were amazing. King room was big, comfortable, excellent huge bed, great bathroom with bath, Yay. Room with fridge Yay, Yay. Breakfast buffet was good and plentiful. Bar, nice, excellent Sri Lankan evening Menu. Excellent Value for money. Excellent location, close to NAEC, Birmingham Airport 11 miles, Warwick Castle 8 Mile's. Nr Stratford, lovely local towns. You pay for parking, that's extra on here, or free direct. We will come back. It is being referbed but the hospitality outways that.
Hospitality Large room Location Food Price
I liked the cleanless and shower.
Very disappointing stay, especially considering the price we paid. The information on Booking.com was misleading: parking charged £6, and the pet fee was stated as £15 per pet, yet we were charged £25 per dog (£50 in total, almost equivalent of the room price). Staff were rude when we questioned the charges. Our Genius benefit included free late check-out, but we were asked to pay another £25. The “king-size” bed was actually two single beds pushed together. The hotel is next to busy road, so it was pretty loud. Breakfast was very poor, with a solid poached egg, bacon cooked on what appeared to be a dirty grill, and very limited choice. Overall, poor value for money, unexpected charges and disappointing service. We would not stay here again.
The staff here were exceptional right from the start, really friendly, super helpful and kind. The pub evening meal was as expected, good value for money, generous portions. Breakfast was really good, plenty of options and again very helpful and friendly. It was my sisters birthday and they brought out a treat for her at breakfast which we weren’t expecting.
It’s true as other reviews have said, the place is a little tired but you can see improvements have started. Our bed was clean and comfy, bathroom was clean. I’d booked 2 double rooms and a family room so we were given some complimentary little bottles of wine as an upgrade in one which was lovely, the three rooms cost just over £300 for 7 of us, including the breakfast. I’d say that’s pretty good value and reflects that the new owners are working on bringing the place up to a higher standard.
Value for money
Bathroom sink and wall tiles not very clean. Appeared mouldy, rm 42
The staff was ok helpful, tanisha was very helpful, very kind.
First the cleanliness, evrithing dirty, bathroom full of mould, very dirty windows, shower head, smell in the room, bugs. The breakfast.
Great hotel, very dog friendly.
Only downside was being woken up in early hours by very drunk wedding party in rooms near ours and then when we went down for breakfast the women’s toilets where covered in sick
Great price and location.
It was good value for money and food and that was very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
In early stages of setting up so working ongoing looks at the moment dated. Would be good to have water in room.
Great location for Kenilworth and Warwick castles
Some of the rooms are getting a bit tired but the new management are addressing this and renovating the rooms a floor at a time.
The staff couldn't do enough for you , dinner and breakfast were fantastic.
It was a bit far from Kenilworth but nice if you like seclusion
We had a lovely big bed Clean room nice breakfast Staff were very helpful also
Breakfast was a bit chaotic
Lovely Hotel not too far from Warwick. Room was large, beds were comfy. Breakfast was nice too great value overall
Car park extra charge at checkin.
The hotel is under new management and they are doing everything that they can to make the visitor feel welcome. I was even shown to my room which has not happened in years. There is a genuine feeling that they want you to enjoy your stay and they will do what they can to ensure that you do. Breakfast was included in my booking and the sausage was the best that I have had this year, so often hotles skimp on the sausage and they did not, to me that is a very telling sign that they care and are doing everything as well as they can. There is a sense of activity about the place, it appears to have had all the ivy removed from its front, there were people busy wrestling the garden under control. With support they will make this into a very desirable destination
The room was tired and the rice portion was very small for the price. All of which can be sorted in time. Like many hotels the parking is now run by a rapacious faceless management so you have to pay additionally for parking which grates, this practice seems to be be more and more common. If however you book direct they can wave the parking fee so ironically you are better off avoiding Booking.com and booking direct, also I noticed that the room is cheaper of you book direct.
Loved it the staff were warm n welcoming, and great breakfast
Easy to locate. Definitely value for money. Having the pub there was good, saved us having to go look for food elsewhere. The staff were polite and very helpful. The bed was comfortable, and bathroom clean.
Good thing I had brought my own shower gel. Quantity provided was quite little for 2.
First room I entered smelt of stale water, the reason was water pushing out the plug in the bath, the staff were brilliant and upgraded me to next door
Look very tired, needs a lot of money spent on it very dated, and looks tired
I have been waiting weeks for a refund as this booking was duplicated. The hotel have told you that it is genuine and sent you permission to refund. Still no refund.
Great breakfast 🍳
I’m disabled i always stay here i find it comfortable
The only thing I did mention to the staff was the disabled parking there is only 1 space and unfortunately I can’t use it as it’s not dig enough ion a wheelchair user I need wider space to get in and out the car
Quality of the breakfast food (when available, waited 10 mins for eggs - in fact waited for plates, glasses, coffee machine, pastries, orange juice). Yes Service haphazard. Staff were very friendly and happy to help. Appearance of hotel exterior, grounds, view from bedroom window (deer in field). Tv, modern. The restaurant menu looked delicious SriLankan theme (not tried as we had booked elsewhere). No lift, staff did offer to carry our bags, we declined as they were very busy
I can see the hotel has potential, but in its early days of refurbishment & how it claims to be 4*, basics missing from room bathroom glasses, wash basin plug, hair dryer (quickly resolved and complimentary wine given, sadly it was too warm to drink). Believed to be an ex smoking room heavily compensated with chemicals. Work started at 8.15am on sunday morning. Corridor carpet, a mess following workmen. NOTE car parking £8
The staff were absolutely amazing. Very hard working and accommodating going above and beyond in every aspect.
The decor was dated, the lift didn’t work and there were wall paper peeling and dirty stairs.
The Warwick Hotel is an impressive property 20 minutes from Leamington Spa in an easy to find location. It is spacious and has good facilities for parking, an excellent breakfast bar and a bar and restaurant serving good quality food. The new owners are obviously working hard t o improve the facilities more but have done a good job in the 6 months they have been there to update , decorate and improve.
Because of the ongoing programme to improve the facilities I would not list anything as negative but would advise visitors to be aware that it is a work in progress and not everything is perfect - yet - apart from the service which is second to none from all staff.
— we arrived late and had not clearly declared the need for a handicap room BUT Tanisha immediately settled the issue with a ground floor room , —-Breakfast was unexpectedly dry good —-Staff very helpful
The handicap parking space needs rethinking as it’s not fit for purpose!!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast was very good well worth the price of the hotel
Lovely setting, hotel had good facilities
Nothing really but it would be nice for the beer garden to get refreshed
Breakfast was good, our room could do will updating
Again the place was clean no air con or lift
The hotel in general was clean, staff were friendly. Our room was clean and had everything we needed
Self service breakfast was nice food was nice but I think kitchen were cooking items when needed noticed if you went at 7am when opened no problem after 8am some foods were low. So you were scrapping what was left in- scrambled egg or waiting for hash browns but even so was still nice. Also outside in beer garden and back of hotel needs revamping most things old broken or worn out. Really do think they could make it nice
When we booked online we done two separate booking with attached bathroom room but when we get in hotel for check in hotel staff says you have two rooms with shared bathroom so that is the confusion so we paid extra at reception for separate bathroom, That is no good apart of that is fine
Location is good
Parkplatz
Alte Einrichtung- in die Jahre gekommen Prsonal nicht so freundlich
Staff were extremely helpful, place is really welcoming, and in an ideal location
The location was nice quiet ideal for some peace time
Hotel was understaffed, outside area poor food left out all night had rats in garden room very plain and very dusty
Great staff, and the Asian dining options are very tasty.
It’s a tired hotel, but this does reflect in the price.
Good , quiet location. Staff very kind and helpful.
Not enough staff members tho, always had to look for someone to serve us at the bar. Not their fault though, they just need someone at the bar at all times, you can't be doing reception and bar at the same time.
Good location
Breakfast eggs could have been fresher and cooked through
Needs a little TLC.. Looks as if the mix of furniture is made up of all the pubs that have closed down in recent years..Needs modernisation desperately because it's a nice facility in a great spot.
Dated, bath needed ripping out in our room, black manky waste overflow and simply needs replacing, just very dated which let's it down..
Amazing hotel just had a renovation and looks amazing the staff were totally attentive and couldn't have asked for more will 100% be back and they even gave my wife for her birthday 😀 top tip worth the extra money for the deluxe garden view absolutely beautiful
Absolutely love the little areas where you could sit the hotel is being renovated and it will be amazing when it’s finished breakfast was amazing
Loved everything
It is out in the countryside so beautiful quiet location. The staff were so friendly and helpful. My TV wasn’t working and they moved me promptly.
The hotel is looking a bit old and tired in some places. However it is obvious new management are working on improvements.
The staff ( I only saw one) was very helpful. Nice guy. When we asked if there was an iron, he wasn’t sure but went and eventually found one. Then I asked for an iron board and he went off and found one too… it kept collapsing but we got the job done.
The coffee machine wasnt working for breakfast and we had to resort to instant coffee. The beds were nearly made but the building looks like one that is being left to fall apart.. skirting boards coming off, cobwebs, stains, peeling paint. Even an unpleasant smell throughout.
Nice staff, no coffee at breakfast. Dirty windows and painting needed to restore. Shower clean and good but no sealant on basin.
Traffic noise need double glazing.shortage of staff.
Well positioned for places like the airport
From the out side the hotel looks nice breakfast was not very good we had a full English breakfast we were asked when checking in what time we would be there for breakfast so there should of been enough for all the guests but was very slow in replenishing and the food where in Turin’s with candles under to keep warm but they didn’t the staff’s clothes looked if they had never been ironed,atAll started the night we checked in we went to the bar for a drink before having dinner it took 15 minutes for the staff to get the pumps working then she pulled one it went all over her and the bar other people came in from out side to have a drink but it took so long they walked out,the menu is mostly Sri lanken as the people that own it are Sri lanken
Good value
Bit tired
Had a car park, next to a bar/restaurant. The cooked breakfast buffet. The Guinness barrels used as tables, reminded me of a recent trip to Dublin. Big screen for sports.
Good location, the bar was comfy and well stocked, the garden was nice and the rooms were good.
Was a tad aged in some places. Had breakfast with our stay and some parts were missing upon arrival and it was well before breakfast was over.
The bed and the breakfast
Bathroom quality was third rate. Mouldy windows, poor decor, floor tiles lifting up from water damage. Not enough headroom under shower
The room was large and spacious. The bed was HUGE and really comfy!! Being 6 months pregnant, this was a huge bonus! All staff were so friendly!! The bathroom seemed to be quite new? Despite everything else being old. The shower was nice and powerful! The view from the window was beautiful.
Breakfast felt a bit like a stay at Fawlty Towers.... Lots of items were unavailable, and lots of people were waiting round for items to be cooked. For example, hot food was running low but only 4-6 sausages would come out at a time rather than large batches being cooked when there were so many people waiting. They seemed to be struggling with the whole food service situation although all staff were so friendly so we didn't feel like we could say anything negative as it was clear they were trying their best, just a bit clueless!
Standard simple breakfast.
Was lukewarm.
