Very handy location God value for money
Too many stairs and fire doors
englisches Frühstück , einfach halt
Location is the main driver for me selecting the hotel but all other aspects are perfectly fine.
Location. Friendly helpful staff. Good choice of breakfast
The cooked breakfast was brought out too quickly, before we had chance to finish cereal/fruit!
Excellent breakfast, lovely room. Friendly staff. Great location for an overnight stay to break up the journey south.

Das Frühstück war toll. Gute Matraze. Parkplatz vor dem Hotel. Nettes Personal. Keine Geräusche aus einem Nebenzimmer. Erholsame Nacht.
Just a nice hotel to stay in, feels good.
Comfort and biscuits
Motherwell

A beautiful room and lovely staff
Nothing all was great
The staff!
Hôtel situé dans un bel écrin de verdure
Espace aquatique un peu défraîchi
Clean, well kept hotel, nice restaurant/bar area with good food.
Staff very nice
Vathroom a little jaded.
Clean, nice rooms, nice restaurant and nice breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff
It was in a good location for what we needed. Looked nice from the outside.
Attention to detail with the cleaning was a bit poor. The insides of the windows were filthy. There was a couple of stains on the bedding. Also mold spores on the bathroom ceiling which is unsightly and unhealthy for us. Also the shower barely has any pressure and was more like a dripping tap.
Comfy room
Kettle not working no coffee to drink
Really nice large room, excellent choice of hot food at breakfast, less choice of cold food. Most staff really friendly but see below.
Would have been a10 but for less than welcoming check in experience. Nobody on reception. Notice on desk said speak to member of staff in the restaurant. Could only see one guy there who was busy serving drinks. Staff member emerged from the kitchen; I told her I needed to check in. She muttered something but then went to serve at the bar. Eventually after standing like a lemon the guy came up to me and asked if he could help. Probably only waiting for 10 mins but was awkward and not customer friendly experience.
It is nice!
The breakfast wasn’t the greatest. Hardly anything considering it was a full Scottish breakfast. Will give that a miss the next time
Convenient for a stop over on route to midlands. Very comfy beds. Lovely staff. Good restaurant not too expensive. 11 am checkout
Excellent hotel, great staff. Hearty & plentiful breakfast. Lovely bar

Easy Check-in, very friendly staff
Very friendly and helpful staff
Breakfast was very good. Room was ok... Hotel room... People in the bar / resturant area were very pleasant as well as the front desk. Very helpful as well.
No Lift... The wait to get your breakfast in the morning.
Room was beautifully maintained and modern with a touch of tartan. Staff on reception (male) very efficient and polite and the lady on breakfast with brown hair very helpful and friendly. Even returned for lunch even though was only on a one night stay and the lady with the brown hair as well as a lady with blonde hair were again very efficient, friendly and professional. Lovely quiet relaxed atmosphere throughout and lovely old building.
Lovely old building, clean room and great price! Friendly staff also
Just off M74 and short walk to trains to Glasgow & Edinburgh. Staff are the greatest asset at The Moorings and the reason we return. A Lanarkshire welcome every time - it’s like coming home! Lindsay, Sharon & Elaine are first class - nothing is a problem and they show genuine interest in all their guests. Thank you - you make this hotel our first choice!
Some soft new pillows would be great, but this is just an improvement suggestion, not a deal breaker!
Very well managed hotel, very pleasant and helpful staff.
Nothing at all !!
Had a lovely stay at Best Western Motherwell Centre Moorings Hotel during our Scotland trip. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and in a convenient location for exploring Scotland. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and everything was well organised. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. ❤️
Convenient location. Safe parking. Good tidy room with powerful shower
Limited continental breakfast
Location and friendly staff
Stairs
Charming and cozy hotel. We enjoyed being there, very much. There is a bar restaurant that is comfortable. Breakfast orders are taken on the night before, and made fresh.
The entrance to the property is on a side street. If you miss the turn in, you have to drive around the corner to get in. Not a big deal.
So close to family
No elevator so carrying cases upstairs was daunting
Good location pleasant staff nice breakfast
No complaints
Lage, Komfort
The Staff are excellent - great customer service
Had window open as it was a warm night, got woken early in the morning with laundry coming/going through the door below window.
Clean
Felt it was tired in places
Great location, lovely hotel, staff friendly and helpful.
It was clean. The bed was fairly comfy. The evening meal was very good and reasonably priced. The staff were welcoming and lovely.
It was expensive for how basic it was. No frills. The room was really warm. Too warm. I opened the window all night and then had road noise. Not unbearable but not wonderful. But the biggest issue was that the door from the stairs into the corridor was noisy to close. And it was just outside my room. I got woken about 12.40. Then again a few minutes later which woke me more of course. Then again at some where around 4 am.
Good sized twin bedded room. Well presented and with all required amenity for a short stay. Hotel within easy walking distance of Town Centre, Railway Station and convenient for Fir Park Stadium.
No lift means a bit of a climb with luggage to top floor room as might present some difficulty for the less mobile.

Friendly staff although overworked
Shower / bathroom was tiny and made shutting the door properly a nuisance to use the toilet. Shower over bath not great. More detail to cleaning behind doors and into corners also window sills. Loud constant noise coming from somewhere later in the evening and early morning
The staff at breakfast were absolutely fantastic, hubby had decided he was doing park run locally at Strathclyde Park and only wanted a light breakfast, the staff ensured it was made for him within minutes so that he could chill and digest before going off for his run. One of the other guests was quite needy during a busy breafast period asking for various things but the staff assisted with a smile. I do not normally have a cooked breakfast as it is not my thing really, I normally prefer something lighter but this morning I decided to try it and definitely not disappointed, no grease left on the plate afterwards, the potato scone was delicious and the bacon was a really good standard, visiting again shortly so will definitely have the cooked breakfast again.
Room was quite a walk from the car park but maybe that was a good thing as there was a 40th birthday celebration in the room near reception.
Went for lunch with my 2 friend and their 90year old dad. Service was great staff took talking to the dad , didn't rush to take our orders .Lunch was delicious. A big thanks to John, Lindsay, Anna and Iain the chef. Hope to visit again soon x
None stay lots of time
When arrive I see that I’m suppose in room 2 and end up change to room 19 not bother but why change?? Room 19 has small window I’m profoundly deaf and how fire escape??
Character hotel
First room had a tiny ceiling height window, comes with the old building Character I suppose!
?
We booked two rooms. The one on the second floor was very nice.
The room at ground floor, in front of the kitchen (loud noises) and overlooking the parking lot (had the keep curtains ckosed) was not very nice. Our request to change room was not granted as teh hotel was fully booked. Would recommend to check was room is assigned beforehand.
First time saying in best western hotel, was surprised it's was really good
Toilet seat was broken
Excellent as always
Nothing at all
Well positioned
Our room was close to the kitchen - the corridor was in use due to a wedding party so noise levels were something of a disturbance
Hotel was perfect, lovely rooms and restuarant area. We ate at the restuarant and it was excellent. Lovely staff and good location if needing to be in Motherwell, also very well located for both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Nothing, everything was perfect for our stay.
Very clean and tidy.
Excellent decor in all areas.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Good location and in easy walking distance from train station. Very comfortable and welcoming stay.
i was impressed nothing was too trouble for staff. They went above & beyond exceptions, especially receptionists & waiting in staff. Thx for making our CWG memorable
Accommodation clean and comfortable
Staff appeared stretched and not as welcoming as in previous visits.
Lovely!
The bar closed at 11
Just a very comfortable and enjoyable hotel. Very nicely furnished.
Nothing really.
The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great. The rooms were spacious and clean.
The superior rooms - very spacious and comfortable.
The requirement to order your choice of cooked breakfast the night before.
Beautiful place. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast and comfortable room.
Lovely rooms and lovely staff.
Great value for money. Fantastic restaurant
Good points first :- ▪︎ Conveniently postioned about 10 min from Motherwell train Station ▪︎ Comfortable bed and good bathroom ▪︎ Cooked breakfast good ▪︎ Kind, hard working staff Not so good points :- ▪︎ Superior room at front of hotel extemely high noise level from road with windows shut - sleep deprived. ▪︎ Very hot room no air con , however fan in room available. ▪︎ Understaffed at breakfast service -covering breakfast service and reception doesn't work effectively for guests. ▪︎ Continental breakfast options limited for healthy breakfast.
We stayed here for three nights during the Commonwealth Games. We travelled by train and the hotel is a short walk from Motherwell station. We received a friendly welcome and our rooms were clean and comfortable. Glasgow was an easy train journey away each day. We had dinner on our first night. The menu had a number of things we could have chosen and service was quick. Similarly the breakfast was reasonably priced compared to many places, with cooked and continental options available. The restaurant/bar was a great meeting place, with a relaxed atmosphere. We’d be happy to stay again.
Location.
Room number 2 near back of hotel on ground floor. Arrived and ushered to room which was down a badly lit corridor, backing onto kitchen/service area. Outside the room was a cupboard (left open) where event tables stored. Had to close these doors to access room. I could go on…but we had two dogs with us and at 06:15 in the morning deliveries started to arrive and vans backing up right outside the room crashing and banging spooked them. Room appeared grubby and worn out. Not an appropriate hotel for pets as no outside space for them. We seemed to upset staff/residents having our dogs with us.
Pleasant staff Room was clean and comfty. Restaurant food was expensive but nice
Lovely, easy location close to city. Staff very helpful. Dogs welcome
Location for us was excellent with good transport connections to Glasgow. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The restaurant serves an excellent breakfast and dinner was equally impressive with a good range of freshly prepared meals served by attentive and friendly staff. The hotel is quiet and very peaceful and bedroom facilities are modern and well maintained.
There is no lift in the hotel so if you are elderly or infirm you need to specify a ground floor room on booking. Reception staff though will ensure luggage is delivered to your room on the first or second floor.
Useful location and smart room
Breakfast was a bit disappointing. No clear indicator of what was available, no menu offered.
Lovely old building. Immaculately clean. Lovely staff. Delicious breakfast.
Ive had bigger beds in a twin room. These were just basic 3ft. But they were very comfy.
Breakfast.
Easy to find, parking available, relatively quiet, great shower facility, good choice of food.
The wobbly toilet.
Good location great staff
Nothing
Die Sauberkeit des Bades war nicht gut. Im Zahnputzbecher waren noch Rückstände vom vorherigen Menschen. Der Stützgriff neben der Toilette war äußerst schmutzig.
Lovely looking hotel
Evening meal was good but waiter didn’t even bother to ask if our meals were ok and had to find someone to get the bill as the staff were elusive Breakfast was really cheap ingredients bread juice was like cordial the one sausage you wasn’t nice I know they have to make a profit but just charge an extra £3 per room so that you could give guests better quality breakfast
Très bon accueil avec beaucoup de cachet. Chambre spacieuses et confortables. Bien situé, calme, parking et restaurant dans l'hotel. Parfait !
Easy to use
Traffic Quite noisy in the room we had: not heavy traffic but no double glazing so very loud. But not unbearable
Easy access to motorway & rail links
Great location for visiting family in Glasgow, easy access to m74, 10 minutes down the road to Glasgow. Room was decent size, Bed was comfy. Breakfast that was included was great too!
Comfortable clean and modern. Great breakfast, staff really helpful and accommodating
Nothing
excellent shower, hooray for large towels too

Staff were friendly and really helpful especially in the morning at breakfast.
We had to request more toilet rolls as there wasn't much in the room. Our room was rather noisy at night as we were directly under the restaurant so noise disturbance at night stopped us getting to sleep and woke us up early in the morning.
Room was perfect and clean . Hotel was great value for money . Staff polite and professional. Breakfast really good. Definitely stay again.
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy bed. Delicious food.
Nothing

Check inn
The hotel had an attractive bar selling quality beers and spirits. I wished I'd had breakfast because it looked lovely. The shower was great and along with the cleanliness made my stay enjoyable. I would stay here again
Very noisy doors, not a patch on premier inns. The hotel can't help it but workmen coming out of their rooms at 6 am with the attitude of 'one up all up' is disgraceful. Maybe a few signs saying quiet between certain hours?
Location was great to the town centre. Room was spacious and clean and comfortable. Safe very polite and helpful nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Nothing
Clean and good location Comfy bed
Bathroom was constantly wet on floor tiles moisture gathered had to have towel constantly on floor to stop from slipping
Staff were helpful and friendly and food in the restaurant was great
After days of driving around South Lanarkshire, where my family lived a few generations ago, it was a pleasure to return to my home base at the Best Western/Mooring Hotel in Motherwell. My room was very comfortable, and there was never a need to go out to search for a restaurant if I was tired. The hotel's own dining room provided wonderful meals. But it was the staff that really put this hotel over the top. They all go out of their way to make one's stay pleasant! Special thanks to Christopher for his courtesy and helpfulness.
Excellent hotel, beautiful dining area with exceptional food. All staff are very professional enjoyed our stay there
Nothing
Staff very friendly , centrally located .
Rooms very hot . Rotating fan provided by hotel but still stifling heat in room . Unexpected heatwave in Motherwell.
Overall beautiful and very close to railway station.
I booked the room more than half year ahead, but got room for disabled and near the hotel cleaning storage and kitchen. OMG, how loud these guys are, banging walls in cleaning storage, banging doors and kitchen- full of life but impossible to rest as a guest. And all this after I extra asked quiet room to get rest and good sleep- non of them provided- they said, no other rooms available… really?
The hotel was gorgeous and the room was both stylish and comfortable - the biscuits in the room were a nice extra touch! Staff were friendly and approachable. Breakfast, which was selected from a form the previous day, was delicious. The hotel was also very easy to get to by car and there was plenty of room in the car park.
Breakfast was lovey and ordered to table
Nothing really
