Provider-sourced guest reviews.
I liked the authenticity of the organic decor of the room with the bonus of air conditioning... best of both worlds. The staff is professional, friendly, and gracious. We would come back and stay at the same place again. Thank you.
The boat transportation from the mainland to the island was challenging. Time schedules were not honored. Charges and fees were not set. The solicitations for higher priced tickets were unethical and non professional. Is there anyway you could arrange for private boat transportation from the mainland to the island?
Very Nice staff, beautiful, good location, loved the beach, relaxing and peaceful
Nothing
Tepanee is easy to find near to the Malpascua ferry landing. It is a quiet and somewhat isolated corner of the island yet a very easy walk to anywere in the town. The ocean side villa was very private. A clean, and comfortable room. It was very memorable. One of or favorite stays in the Philippines. The people were nice and helpful. The resort grounds are not large but nicely landscaped and maintained and fragrant with flowering trees. There is small marine reserve accessed directly from the hotel. There are schools of baby reef sharks that was the highlight of snorkeling in the area. The dive shop we selected was very near the hotel.
Price was slightly higher than many for this area; but, worth it.
The view from the balconies of the rooms with the full ocean view are incredible. Do not miss your chance to get a balcony room, you will not regret it. The shark nursery right off of the beach is also incredible. To be able to swim with the baby sharks and all of the fish right off of your home beach, it is breathtaking and priceless.
There are a decent amount of steps on the property, so if you have a hard time walking or climbing steps, then it may be a little difficult to get around. But if you don’t have a problem with those things, then it is perfect.
Posizione, cibo, cordialità e servizi
Snorklingen på stranden.
Frukosten!
Beautiful location (10 mins walk from the main street), the marine sanctuary was amazing and reception staff were super helpful and friendly! Stayed in one of the ocean facing rooms and sitting out on the balcony was bliss
Fairly limited breakfast
Staffs were very friendly, and able to assist many things
The blanket was too thin…
Great View, nice Rooms, Friendly staff, quiet & clean
The breakfast was no Highlight. Few choices and not the best quality compared to other hotels in the philippines.
Super sympa !!
Pulizia generale ottima, staff molto accogliente, stanze meravigliose
Nulla
Great resort in a beautiful location. Views from the bar are some of the best on the island. They work closely with a couple of dive shop to make everything seemless. Breakfast is very good, and there is an Italian place next door with great pozza
None for us, but the property is on a hilly area and may not be suitable for individuals with limited mobility
Absolutely perfect. We loved every moment in this hotel. Food is amazing, the private beach with baby sharks is a blast, contacts for diving (MTD) was perfect. The room was confortable, AC was really efficient. Only regret is not having booked a sea view cause it’s beautiful. The staff is helpful and kind.
Nothing at all. Only point : we arrived by the beach bar opposite to the reception. Maybe you could add some signs to guide us on the « correct side of the hotel » on our arrival, but this is no big deal at all.
Bed was comfortable. Balcony with a great view. Good shower. Close enough to the town but just far enough away.
Beach is a little smaller than expected but it's about as good as you're going to get in that part of Malapascua. Not much to do on the island except dive.
Everything! but most especially that they protect the shark sanctuary where the resort is situated in. You can see the baby black-tip sharks just by snorkeling from their access to the beach. The rooms were clean, staff very helpful. Breakfast superb! They also have the best view of the sunset from their sunbeds.
Just the shower was always cold and temperature couldnt be adjusted.
This is the pearl among Malapasqua's hotels. Breakfast was quite good, cooking in cafe on the beach fast and delicious, as well as hotel restaurant for dinner. Hotel has two beaches, and if windy on one you can snorkel on another. We liked possibility for snorkeling with baby sharks, it is amazing! Staff is helpful in any questions.
Nothing
Great staff really friendly and helpful all the time, met the owner who was lovely and gave great advice. The huts themselves are beautiful, we had one overlooking the sea and the views were spectacular. The shark sanctuary is really really good - we saw so many of the reef tip sharks a stones throw away from the private beach. Sunsets on private beach were ace and as they were largely for hotel residents it meant the atmosphere was nice and chill.

Bra
The beachfront is beautiful (most beautiful besch on the whole island in my opinion)
We were very happy in total. Only point for improving: there could be more variety in the breakfast buffet.
Amazing location, beautiful sea views, very well maintained
We loved our stay here. Great location, 5mins walk from the pier and beach strip with restaurants. Staff was lovely and very helpful, helped us book diving, laundry, scooter rental and taxi to Moalboal. Would highly recommend!
Frühstück eher Basic, aber alles da was man braucht.
We loved this place!! Our bungalow was amazing, the views were unreal!! We came for diving and loved our downtime relaxing on the private beach with great snorkelling at the marine reserve in front of the resort. We arranged our transfers to and from Cebu with Tepanee and it was seamless. My husband left his phone in the car on our return journey and they went over and above for the driver to get it back to us, such great service.
We loved it all but worth noting the resort is on a headland and there are quite a few stairs to negotiate around the hotel
The location is probably the best you can get on the island. It's right where the shark sanctuary is and it is still super close to everything else. Great restaurants around and everything you can wish for. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the rooms are exceptional. I had the best time ever!
Cosy and quiet place beautiful beach view
Gym does not work, breakfast was limited
God mat, rent og wifi. Varmt vann i dusjen.
I had a Great Time at your Resort. Perfect way to start my vavation
The hotel is located in a quite place, overlooking the ocean and just few minutes walk from the port. The rooms are spacious and with balcony. There is the refrigerator and the safe. The airconditioning works perfectly and it is silent. The staff is very friendly! Great breakfast!
Emplacement et tranquillité. Esthetique
Rien
The ocean closes at 5pm ... restaurant at the hotel.is awful... better options near by. Over all decent for the area... as per other travelers
bed is good. Shower water pressure is ok too.
wifi was very bad, not because of starlink itself, but poor relay to the room. Asked them to look into it, they did not. They force no AC when outside (AC needs the key to function) which means it will be hot for a while when you come back, for "ecological" reasons. I say ecological with quotes because the insulation is very bad - windows let heat and sound come through, so not a real concern it seems. Took the most expensive hotel to get good wifi and some work done. Poor experience.
Best place to stay on the island for sure
It’s a nice but simple beach resort. I think it’s overpriced for what you get (I payed like 70USD per night, 50USD would be a fair price). There is a private beach. But access to the water is restricted by daytime and only for snorkeling. If you just like to swim you have to walk to other beaches :(
Private beach with good snorkeling close to the dive shops we dove with. AC was essential because it was way to hot out. On-site massage and spa.
There were lots of stairs so we got our workout.
(1) Perfect location: very quiet, on the other side of a hill so sounds from beach bars don't reach the rooms. It's especially apparent when you walk from the room to the beach in the evening: after you cross the summit you start hearing music from beach bars / restaurants, ones you didn't hear close to the room. (2) Quiet air conditioner: not very strong but sufficient for the room. (3) Decent-sized (not a small minibar type) and quiet (!) fridge, we for example bought fruits and stored them in it. (4) Basically nothing disturbs your sleep when in the room (except possibly your partner? ;-). (5) The real hidden gem is hotel's private beach, snorkeling on it you can see plenty of baby reef sharks!!! I saw maybe about 12 at the same time. Pro tip: don't swim too fast or too much, actually move your hands and feet as little as possible, otherwise you'll scare the sharks. Just get to the right place (a bit further out from the shore, near the rope) and wait a bit. Sharks will come. And don't swim in the area to the right of the entrance limited by rope, it's an area reserved only for the sharks. Instead, hold on to the rope so that you don't need to move and don't scare sharks away. (6) Nearby hotel Blanco Beach Resort has a very good restaurant next to the Tepanee's private beach, and this restaurant serves very tasty food and fresh juices. (7) Soft, comfortable beds (memory foam but it's fine). (8) Nice furnuture, room had a work table. (9) Good WiFi. (10) Hotel is built on a hill so you can save up on gym - just walking to / from your bungalow will burn enough calories ;-) (11) Views from this hill and the partner restaurant are breath-taking.
None of these presented problems for us, but FYI: (1) Rooms have wooden floors and they are creaky! One person just walking in the room can wake up another person sleeping. Also people on the first floor in 2-floor bungalows can hear people walking on the second floor. (2) Air conditioner blows directly on to the bed, so it's often cold when turned on and hot when turned off. I dealt with this by almost closing the vent manually so that air goes directly down. (3) Strange policy: you need to show the credit card used to book the hotel, like they try to combat fraud. This is a thing some airlines (rarely) do, but I've never seen this in a hotel. The card I used was a virtual card so it doesn't exist in physical form, but they accepted seeing the card in my bank application. (4) Reception has a sign "water refill" but there is no water refill there actually, so if 1 liter of free drinking water per day is not enough you'll need to buy bottles of water from mini-bar at 80 PHP per bottle (inflated price obviously). (5) Hotel's partner restaurant used for breakfasts and dinners, called Amihana, is let's say below average, food is not very tasty. (6) If you (as most people) come there for diving, one important thing to consider is the distance from your hotel to the dive shop. You will need to walk to and from your chosen dive shop every day, often on sand (I don't think most dive shops offer pick ups), often early in the morning. This hotel is in one corner of the island, so distance to dive shops on the other side might be too large to be comfortable, make sure you check the distance when you make plans.
I had an awesome week in my little bungalow. The private beach to go snorkeling is perfect, and staff really take care of it. At night it is quiet and the room is spacious and airco works well. The bathroom is a good size, and the shower is great. The matras is more on the older side, but still I slept really well. There is instant coffee in the room, and the mini fridge is filled with drinks. The breakfast buffet is basic, but it has everything you would want. In general, food on the island anywhere ranges from 'meeeeeeh' to 'urgh', so I enjoyed breakfast even more. There are a lot of steps to walk up and down, which might be a challenge for some. All in all I very much enjoyed my stay! Would recommend and I would come back!
Maybe the best location on the whole island. Right next to the baby sharks and the best beach I found on malapascua. Peaceful, quiet, excellent breakfast, conveniently located to everything. There are a lot of long/small stairs to walk up and down around this whole place (cause its built on the side of a hill). Didnt really bother me, but could maybe see it bothering some, so you should be ok with that.
I booked dives at a dive shop and upon arrival found out it was pretty far of a walk through sand with my big camera system. It was no problem for the diveshop to send a small boat and pick me up and drop me off at the beach next to hotel daily.
Great stay close to the ferry pier. The dining/breakfast area had a great view and wonderfully cool breezes. Hot water was a bit on and off and a minor gripe... the a/c and fan were great but it would be nice to have something slightly thicker than a sheet to sleep under ... or an extra blanket. Otherwise a very enjoyable hotel!
The people are friendly and The property feels perfect- beach, peace and quiet vibes.
I would prefer more filipino traditional food options
Great resort! Comfortable room, good breakfast buffet. Best part of this place is the beach area with loungers, and great snorkeling right off shore. The hotel amenities list a pool, but its a small dipping pool in front of the spa, not very appealing and we didn't see anyone use it. However, a pool isn't really needed with such great access to the beach swimming.
Beautiful place, great location, amazing staff, great food, great, relaxed, fun atmosphere. I arrived for a few days and decided to stay longer. Had a perfect vacation there.
The beds, pillows and towels. Pillows are not comfortable and old, towels small and you only get one each
An amazing resort. Beautiful location, the huts are beautiful and comfortable, the views from the huts are incredible. Staff are very friendly and helpful. A nice house reef right out the front, which has baby black tip reef sharks.
Would recommend going elsewhere for food.
Snorkeling was amazing
All was great, except the beach is no longer accessible as it is now part of a Marine Protected Area. Also, like most of the Philippines, corals in the area are badly damaged by dynamite fishing, and reefs are severely overfished.
quiet room with a pleasant garden view where we could relax and chat quietly. Beach area had comfortable recliners with drinks service 20m away at most. My partner loved the friendly cats and dogs. Restaurant was good with possibly the best views in town. We enjoyed talking with the owners. For me, it was the perfect jump off point for my thresher shark dives.
Best hotel in the Philippines! This was my fourth stay at Tepanee Beach Resort. The Italian owners are great, so welcoming and friendly. I enjoyed my chats with Andrea each day. Their marine reserve is absolutely amazing. My son and I went snorkelling with the black tip reef sharks several times a day - this was an absolute highlight. They have a small gym on site which functions quite well and the view from the bungalows are stunning. Can't wait to come back again.
Maybe more options at breakfast.
Easily the best hotel on the island and so glad we were here for Christmas. The highlight was the marine nature reserve - snorkeling and seeing all the different fish and black tips was exciting and enjoyable. Andrea is a fabulous host, taking the time to get to know guests and help in anyway he can. All other staff were also friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and clean, lovely ocean view from the bed which was lovely each morning.
Would have preferred some more breakfast options - restaurant food was lovely though!
Super zum schnorcheln, man sieht immer Baby Haie. Direkt an der Anlegestelle für die Fähre
I loved this place and my stay in Tepanee The Location Is amazing very well located, great views, great vibes and excellent service!! I spent there 1 week and it was perfect. Andrea (the owner) is a perfect host, he helped me with contacts and lot of interesting Info about the isaland 100% recomended!!!
Very serene and peaceful
