The location of the hotel is perfect Above an amazing restaurant which we dined in called VIVA brazil Opposite all the main clubs and bars

The room we booked was on the 11th floor The bed had a blood patch on the mattress cover we only noticed this when we got into bed at around midnight and thought it was too late to ring about so we put a towel on it And the room was boiling The air con system wasn’t working and we had to ring the reception at 4:30 am as it was unbearable we were then given a room on the lower floor which was fine but cleanliness was very bad The bathroom had hairs all over the wall and in the bath The bath was broken and chipped, which was coming off We had breakfast in the hotel which was amazing and had plenty of choices I will attach pictures if I can

Central location, very comfortable bed, fridge with water, fizzy drinks and chocolate a nice touch and good bathrobes.

Self service check in, not greeted by the person on reception who was not with another guest. Electrical issues in the room, poor hospitality tray, two teabags and three coffee pods. Breakfast staff very pleasant but the hot food very dry at 8:45am

I was a little perturbed, we arrived at the hotel a bit early and were happy to be told our room was ready. We went to the room, unpacked our suitcase and went out for a coffee. When we came back, a member of staff had been in our room! The towels that had been folded on a shelf been transformed into a swan on the bed. I’m not suggesting anything was taken but I don’t believe that a member of staff should be allowed to walk into a guest’s room. We were sure to leave the door hanger on the outside so they wouldn’t enter.

It was clean, modern, nice staff, lovely breakfast / dining room - the best part of the whole building. Good price.

I found parking nearby difficult but that’s not the fault of the hotel, I wasn’t familiar with Cardiff centre.

Had the do not disturb sign up and an employee knocked to give us a coupon and 2 chocolates. No parking to drop bags. We sadly damaged our rental vehicle trying to pull up to a curb just to drop the bags. After 450 miles of single carriage way roads and we have to pay for the car rim to be repaired 1 mile before we returned the car. If we would have known we would have returned the rental car and paid for a taxi for the mile that we didn't want to drag our luggage.

Spotless clean very central and the breakfast buffet was fabulous £12.50 and eat as much as you like

Nice room and decent breakfast

Unfortunately could hear the music coming from the street with a heavy bass all night and I can't sleep with noise especially something constant like that. Therefore would not stay there again as it was too loud for me.

The location is perfect, right next to the train station and within walking distance of the bars, restaurants and stadiums. The room itself was very clean and had everything we needed for a short stay.

A little pricey but that was probably because there was a concert at the Utilita the night we visited.

Couldn’t open the window

The location was ideal. It was close to the train and bus station, as well as being near the Arena and plenty of bars and restaurants. The hotel was clean and well presented and the breakfast was good value for £10 each.

Unfortunately, the pillows were hard and comfortable, so we didn't sleep very well. If I was to book again, I'd definitely take my own pillows!

The lift was a little confusing, once you're in you need to scan the room card otherwise the lift will ignore your floor selection and just take you wherever its been requested next.

Have stayed that this hotel numerous times and have always been satisfied until this time. The location was ideal for city centre and train station.

Booked executive room. Bed was normal double, room.was not that spacious. When booking in staff were not that friendly. On check out the staff member was so nice though.

The hotel is very close to the train station and in a very central location. The room was quite large. However, the window was locked all the time and we could not get some fresh air. Breakfast was wonderful. In particular, there was a great selection of fruit. Moreover, the breakfast room was very spacious and bright, and with an excellent view of the surrounding area. The hotel staff was very helpful and polite.

Was expensive compared to other hotels of better quality, bed was on wheels every time you sat on it it moved, room was extremely hot and you couldn’t open a window to cool down.

Overpriced for what it was when over the road in the premier is £129 cheaper and not much different

The Ac didn’t work through out had to come downstairs 4 times to complain and they later gave me a small fan but the room was so hot so couldn’t rest. It was bad horrible experience for me when I needed to rest but ended worse than when I came.

The staff were very helpful and friendly was able to get into my room 3 hours before check in time so that was a nice surprise! Room was so clean probably one of the most cleanest hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, bed was extremely comfortable the snacks and water in the fridge was a lovely touch

We had our room on a Saturday night and we was on the 6th floor room 606 if you’re a light sleeper I would suggest getting a room round the back of the hotel as you can hear music and outside noise till early hours of the morning, luckily this didn’t stop us from sleeping! Also stayed Sunday night and was so much quieter and had such a nice peaceful sleep

Location was great

Paid for an executive suite, then I was put in a basic room with no compensation, paid for a later checkout then was woken up by room phone and constant door knocks, the staff member that dealt with us could barely speak English and had a shit attitude. That will be the last time we stay at the Clayton hotel Cardiff. We will go back to the Hilton hotel where the service is better.

Great location. Cardiff Castle within 10 minutes walk. Main train station within 4 minutes, practically outside the station. All the eatery and bars on the doorstep. Never a dull moment...lol. Breakfast was ok for the price

The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was very suitable, the hotel itself was very nice. We felt underdressed for how fancy it was 🤣. Clean, value for money and phenomenal experience. We will be returning later in the year.

Not a complaint as much, just some confusion. The TV channels stopped working around 1:30am. Don't know if that's just an issue with our TV? We were watching something and it cut off. Not upset Just confused. Other than that no issues

I was a little disappointed. This hotel did not feel like a 4 star hotel. Even though our room was on the tenth floor it was noisy and you could hear the patrons outside the pub across the road. The bed was very uncomfortable and made you sink into the middle of the bed. The air conditioner did not work. The room got quite hot at night and we couldn't sleep. They could not fix it and put us in another room the next day. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Your staff on the reception desk are very welcoming and professional in their interactions with customers, our arrival on the first day at around 1445 @ the reception, the guy that attended to us and welcome us with respect and regards , his interactions with us gave us the impression that this is the best place to be in Cardiff Central. He is of a middle height with eye glasses , if am not mistaking , he has beard and a bit of ginger hair and lady by her side too was professional. The room is clean , the corridors are clean , the general staff in the restaurant are nice and decent people . The location is the best one can ever have with proximity to every landmarks . Closeness to the railway station is another plus ➕️. The price of securing accommodation with Clayton is is very affordable. Also , they allow you to check in online and check out online saving you time and the good side of checking out online really helped us to catching our train on time and even afford us the opportunity to catch earlier train than scheduled as we did not have any need to queue up.at the reception to hand over keys/card or settling any other issues. Everything about Clayton Hotel is excellent and perfect , we shall be there again and I have recommended it to many .

The room was good , had everything we needed and was presented at a good level . We are two big people and so the standard double was a bit tight but we don’t know if they had rooms with bigger beds . The Breakfast was outstanding and the staff pleasant and efficient and the location at one end of the Main Street outstanding . Parking although separate was very good in the multistory which was close by .

The location was the only thing I liked about the hotel. The check in was a bit impersonal but heyho.

I had booked an executive room. Liked the photos online but did not get anything like it. The room I was allocated was entering but executive. Had a shower which was luke warm and just acceptable. Used the provided towel and it was dirty. Covered in black stains. Returned it to reception and was given a new clean towel. So, please check the towels before use to make sure they are clean. I commented on the disappointing room the next day and was told that I should have mentioned it the night before. To be honest I just could not be asked as I had unpacked, came back late and was just tired. The breakfast was okay, nothing outstanding but not bad either. Last photo is that of what I thought I had booked according to the photos on the website of the executive rooms and the others show the reality of my room. Quite different and disappointing!

The location was excellent, right in the heart of Cardiff, making it very convenient for exploring the city. The staff were generally friendly and helpful.

The room was really small and felt cramped, especially for a family. There was also a very unpleasant smell on the 8th floor. Housekeeping was disappointing—the bedsheets were simply straightened rather than changed, even when they were visibly dirty. After four days, I had to plead with the cleaner to change them, and she had to speak to her supervisor first. The breakfast was also the same throughout our stay, with very little variety. This may be fine for a short stay, but it is not ideal for guests staying for several days.

Arrived at 3pm - check in time and I was turned away as room wasn’t ready. Once checked in I went into the room the bedding pillow was dirty, the toilet was dirty from being used! And the paint work wasn’t good/ dirt marks everywhere. I asked for another room- bathroom had other peoples shower gel and scrunchie left in it so not sure if it wasn’t cleaned ? The bedding had marks on it And the door lock didn’t work on the main door to the room! Went do the reception and had asked for my money back the reception lady said no to begin with where I then said I want the manager please. He wasn’t best impressed but did give me my money back. I won’t be staying again.

A clean no hassle hotel in a great location.

The room doors are loud on closing so you can hear everone come and go. An insulating strip might help.
