Reviewed Jul 18, 2026Nice room with easy fold out double couch bed so could fit our kids in, we stayed for a week and staff came every day while we were out to empty rubbish and service if wished. Had smart tvs in lounge and the room, also had sky TV with sport and movies which was a great extra. We had a great time exploring and were close for our kids sport we were there for. Would definitely stay again.

Cancelled the accomodation a week before through booking.com which was acknowledged by booking.com. This was obviously not passed on to the manager who called up up to ask why we had not stayed. I explained that we had cancelled a long time ago within the time frame of free refund. The lady was very short with both myself and my partner and explained we had been charged and it was not her problem. It was clear they were more interested in money than sorting any issue out there end. As such I would not recommend staying here as the managers are clearly interested in their money rather than their clients.

We stayed in 3 rooms which were all very clean and quiet. Nice and handy to the city just a quick uber drive away. Would stay again.

The only improvement I can suggest is to provide a coffee plunger and plunger coffee

Nothing to note apart from a bread knife would be handy. A great little bread and pastry shop just up papanui road and we needed to cut our ciabatta.

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026The Ashford Motor Lodge was great value for money. Our one bed apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. Loved the air fryer in the kitchen (even if we didn’t use it - great idea). Bed was comfy and they even made up a bed for my daughter in the lounge, rather than leaving her to use the sofa bed (we prefer not to share a room, but could easily have done). Would definitely stay there again.
The room could have done with a blind or some sheers. Being on the upper floor with the walkway right outside and a lot of glass, it was a bit of a goldfish bowl. That said, I’d still very happily stay there again, so not a complaint, more of a suggestion.
