Tired, unclean. Needing attention. Standards dropped since last visit.
Garden and location to bus route. Comfy beds.
The kitchen extractor fan on out side window all day and late at night, Luke warm water, no alternative to food I wasn't happy with.
Friendly pub with rooms. Easy walking distance of Worthing town Centre. Pub food available but also some very nice restaurants close by
Staff are also friendly but needed prompting, eg I'd like to place my breakfast order, can you bring some spoons. They were very happy to help. Suggests they need some training/supervision
The team and environment
Nothing
Room 105 is really noisy from about 6.00am due to the extractors from the kitchen coming on!!! No chance of sleeping after that, even with ear plugs!!! 🙉
The room was well appointed and clean. The bathroom was clean and spacious and lastly the staff were very helpful and friendly.
I needed a smaller makeup mirror.
Lovely accommodation with character, beer garden amazing. Definitely try the homebrewed cider. All staff were friendly and helpful, plenty of food choice for the evening and breakfast which were all delicious. Definitely worth a visit you won't be disappointed.
If I was picky the pillows were a bit soft.
Great location. Staff very friendly. The room was clean and cozy.
Location was ideal, free car park and pub/restaurant downstairs with beer garden.
Room very warm, only small fan provided and not all windows opened. Would imagine when it was very hot in mid summer it would have been unbearable.
The parking was straightforward. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was good - only a 10-15 min walk from the main areas. The bed was comfortable. The choice of TV channels. Some of the cooked vegetarian breakfasts.
Some of the food was disappointing. The vegetarian Sunday roast seemed reheated and the continental breakfast looked old and sad with its storage jars and lonely orange! The cooked vegetarian breakfast could also have offered vegetarian sausages and/or bacon. The decor. We had preferred the less bright colours when staying at the hotel many years ago. The shower didn’t have anywhere to add your own items. The annoying sachets of milk!
Very welcoming, lovely furniture and decor
Room was too hot and couldn't open windows, the lighting was extremely poor and only realised there was a fan when it was daylight and we could see better, there was nowhere to dry hair with a mirror and plug.
Staff were polite bed was comfy looked nice
Cobwebs every where. Floors in bathroom and bedroom was a mess not been cleaned. Wardrobe is wonky. Also doors locking when trying to sleep affects everyone on the same floor
The place has character and the breakfast room is beautiful. Location is great.
The room needed some TLC. The blind didn't work. The ceiling was slanted and it was difficult for my husband to move around. There's no lift so two stories with luggage were overwhelming.
The location was good and the room spacious
The room was disgustingly dirty. To the point I wrote "Clean me" in the thick dust on the glass lamp shade. The shower needs re-grouting and the grout had mold I could wipe off with a finger, so not cleaned well. There was no toilet roll holder so an industrial style/size toilet roll was just left on the dirty floor for use. The gap under the door was about 1 inch and the hall light permanently on, so had to place my coat across the gap to stop a bright hall light coming in. The breakfast was a farse. We stood waiting for someone for about 10 mins to arrive, they didn't and we had to go into the kitchen and shout above the loud music to get a cooks attention, who then had to go and find the gentleman covering guest in the resturant area. There was only myself and my partner there and we waited over 25 minutes for an English breakfast that turned up cold. It seemed like it had been pre-cooked and loosely attempted at a reheat [presumable in an oven as it was cold in the middle]. The second morning was similar with the exception that the young lady managing the restaurant was very polite, helpful and engaging. Unfortunately, hoping for a better breakfast 2nd time round, it was worse. I actually couldn't eat any of it. the sausage was so cold in the middle it felt like it had come out of a fridge, not been freshly cooked. not a big ask for a £16 per person breakfast!
Lovely hotel, nice garden. Would definitely stay again location is ideal but more than a 10 mins walk to town.
The staff were a little unsure on a few details, they give you a free drink some when staying in the hotel but some said you needed a voucher and some just confirmed it was by seeing who they had served. Was told voucher should of been given when taken to room and other says they are in the draw. This happened again with ordering food , ordered then was told I had to reorder as food was out of stock but then bring outing out what we ordered to start with. Also the doors are designed with a code rather than card but the handle had a safety part on it that all of us struggled with.
Good location, good food menu, great outdoors area.
Prices quite steep for food.
Lovely friendly chatty staff The idea of the decor was good but in desperate need of updating.
We had the attic room which was slanted slightly and reduced head space, the room was hot, dirty and in need of a little TLC. The advert stated a craft beer in the fridge which wasn't there. The bed was heavily used and had a dip in the middle, pillows were lumpy and the fan in the room was covered in dust and very loud as it was clearly past it's best
Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes Essen im eigenen Restaurant.
Leider nicht sauber. Zimmersevice müsste besser sein für den Preis.
Good location. Close to local amenities and seafront.
Dirty. Past its best decor wise, scuffed walls. Noisy air ducting from kitchens outside room. No shower gel and price inflated with no breakfast included.
It was in a good location. The room was big and the restaurant downstairs was nice. The staff were helpful
We left the door sign to say “please make up our room” but all they did was clean the mugs and pop more biscuits out. Water wasn’t replaced, toilet roll wasn’t replenished, the bottle of water in the fridge wasn’t replaced. We had to go downstairs to the restaurant to ask for this as there wasn’t a phone The bed my daughter slept on was listed as a sofa bed, I had a lay on it and it was some sort of futon but you could feel the wood in it, it was sort of like a bed frame without a mattress. She slept ok on it but she’s 7 and will sleep anywhere, an adult would’ve struggled.
Great room, central location and being above a pub restaurant was a bonus
It satisfied all our needs
The bar and food was really nice and really good, check in was quick and easy, same for check out!
The hotel rooms are abit rundown, cracked paint on the ceiling, cracks in the walls, windows that don’t lock properly, beds felt abit lumpy but okay for a one night stay.
Every thing
Nothing
Hotel was fantastic
Green light in bed was very bright
Staff excellent, room we were originally offered was far below our expectations, however the manager was superb and moved us to another excellent room following day. Parking was excellent and as we have electric car, there was a charging station in next car park.
Question weather the room we were given is actually fit for two people as the roof was so sloped it was difficult to stand up in.
Good location for town centre
Accessing the room and unhelpful staff
Location
2 nd bed slats were not that comfortable
Fabulous interior design, delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, short walk to beach, free drink with stay, chilled water in fridge, lovely toiletries, comfy bed and great shower. Highly recommend for a good value stay in the heart of Worthing.
Good location. Lovely garden that was well kept . Lots of room in the pub and plenty of parking. Quality loo roll for a change in hotels . They do a kids breakfast that was just right if you don’t do big breakfasts , such a good idea . Staff were very helpful.
Needs a bit of TLC as in paint work and grubby carpets .
Everything was just as we needed.
Not a thing!
Great location, free parking and huge room
Bar staff a bit grumpy, room (lamps/ table) and breakfast service (glasses etc) bit grubby The pigeons woke me up very early
Very comfortable rooms, ample parking, great location and friendly abd polite staff.
Nothing
It has character and heritage appeal, tastefully decorated and vey clean and comfortable.
Access to the bedrooms is through a narrow stairs so difficult to carry up bags.
Great location, pretty building, lovely pub garden, comfortable bedroom and good shower, water in the fridge.
Would have liked more real milk in the fridge rather than oat milk.
I needed to check in an hour before usual 3pm as I was meeting family for a meal, in town. Staff were really understanding and helpful making it easy to do. Facilities were good, like décor and feel of the pub, garden and hotel.
A small thing, there were a lot of beers that weren't available but there wasn't anything to indicate what wasn't available, a simple half pint glass over the pump has sufficed for 100 years, but no, you have to ask to be told "no, it's not available", it would save a lot of everyone's time.
The location was excellent - near to the seafront but quiet. The room was art deco furnished , with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful shower.
No lift available , so a few stairs to climb , but it was good that the old building still retained its character , which was sufficient compensation for both of us.
Location car park room was fab food was fab
I think the outside could do with a paint looking a bit shabby. Such a beautiful property,
The outside area was lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Our sink plug got stuck and so we were without a basin which was troublesome but we worked round it
I loved the pub, loved the character of it and the staff were very friendly. The room did have nice quirks.
Room was small, ensuite was so tiny, extremely hot with windows that hardly opened and very noisy next to the extract fan for kitchen. Bed was so hard. There was a desk fan in room and without that it would have been unbearable. It is an old building so I get that its hard to put aircon in. Such a shame as it could have been amazing. Expensive for what it was.
good location near the beach, good garden
We stayed in Room 202 while attending a wedding in Worthing and unfortunately our experience did not meet expectations. The room was in the attic, with a heavily sloped ceiling across a large portion of the space. This was not evident from the photos on the hotel's website or Booking.com, and in parts of the room it was difficult to stand upright comfortably. During a heatwave, the room became extremely warm. The windows only opened partially, and a small fan was provided, but it was not enough to keep the room cool. The bathroom window faced directly towards what appeared to be a kitchen extraction outlet, resulting in persistent cooking and grease odours, which, combined with the heat, made the room quite unpleasant. We raised our concerns with the hotel immediately after check-in in the hope of finding a resolution. Unfortunately, we were advised that room allocation was handled through Booking.com and that there was little the hotel could do. As the venue operator, I found this response disappointing and felt there was limited acknowledgement of our concerns. Service throughout the stay was inconsistent. Waiting times at the bar were lengthy, and several beers became unavailable during evening service. Breakfast service was also very slow, with a fairly basic tea and coffee station. The breakfast itself was acceptable, but given the additional cost, we felt there were better options available nearby. Overall, while the location suited our visit for a wedding in Worthing, the accommodation and service fell short of expectations, and we would be unlikely to return.
Spacious modern room and excellent value for money.
Kettle was in a dark corner.
Staff were very helpful and pleasant
Nothing
. Afvoer douche liep niet door. Busjes met zeep en body-lotion waren leeg. Muffe geur in gangen.
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was really nicely fitted out. The room was a little small but adequate. Location was really good. The breakfast was delicious, we also ate there in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Will definitely return.
A few cobwebs but nothing to bad.
great hotel with fantastic selection of beers along with good food. Fantastic location with good parking. Lovely beer garden to enjoy the summer evenings
room was hot but it did have a fan wasnt the hotles problem mre the crazy weather
very friendly , staff were great .food was lovely , a good size big garden area . excellent sound proofing couldn't hear any noise from bar area when retired for night despite it being england's quarter final world cup game
Lots of nice little touches, great pub and staff. Oatmeal milk in the fridge, decent shower, fan in the room, good quality TV etc.
Avoid room 105 as over the kitchens, very warm and extractor fan noise.
Hotel staff very good and eager to please. Communication good.
Rooms were tired and decoration aging, Quite a lot of chipped and flaking paint. Shower stall very small and badly designed.
Nice location, comfortable room.
My room overlooked a low roof with noisy ventilation ducting on it.
Very friendly staff, especially the manager Alex, great location, plenty of car spaces.Food fantastic. Spacious room, comfortable bed & nice shower.
Nothing.
Location
Room was dusty. I had to clean most surfaces. room was directly by external fans which made the room extremely noisy. No toilet paper either.
Stayed here for one night and had a really nice time. Great location — close to the beach and an easy walk into town too. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it’s a lovely old building with real character. Even though there’s a bar downstairs, it was still quiet at night.
None
Funky decor in a cute vintage property. Breakfast was excellent and filling. Complimentary beer or cocktail was nice touch. If you love beer you will want to stay here for sure!
Room (103) was fine, although dark walls/decor and trendy filament lights, while lovely, made it very dark to get ready in etc. The heavy very high curtains were off the hooks in several places meaning impossible to close if you needed to sleep in total darkness (we didn't).
The food, and atmosphere, staff, cool place
Nothing
Pleasant location and building set back from the main road. Free parking with ample spaces available. Friendly welcome with everywhere clean and tidy. Did not have breakfast but had bar meals which were very good and sat in pleasant garden. Hotel is only a ten minute walk from the town centre and seafront.
No air conditioning anywhere in the building. We did have a fan provided in the bedroom.
Location and facilities
Cleanliness
clean and friendly staff
Quirky.
Nothing.
Very clean, well equipped rooms.
Wait fir breakfast was 45 minutes, but to be fair, they didn't charge and it was good quality.
Room clean and nice decor
Room overlooked roof of kitchen and extractor fans were very noisy
Location
Room was not in keeping with the confirmation picture I’d received. It had no air con and was extremely hot and the small fan was insufficient. The lock on the door was faulty, and I got locked in at least twice. I reported it but was informed there was no issue. Had there been a fire there would have been an issue.
It was quirky. Good location.
Rooms were large and comfortable, breakfast was very good value for money. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Ample parking available. Voucher offering a free drink in the bar was a nice touch.
Nothing we didn't like
Convenience and friendly staff.
Tired
Location, staff, been twice now, will def be back ☺️
Clean, modern ☺️
We always have a good stay here
My room sloped a bit
I stayed in room 201 which is on the second floor of the property. I didn’t find the stairs difficult myself but this is something to bear in mind. The room, including the bathroom were of a good size plenty of hot water and the shower was good. The bed was comfortable and there seemed to be a variety of pillows which would suit most tastes I should think I especially like the availability of Parking, which seems unusual in Worthing in other hotels that say they have Parking but require you to park on the street and pay a daily charge
I have stayed in this hotel many times before and the one thing that always let’s it down is the cleaning in the bedrooms. This time it was The showerhead, grouting in the shower and toilet that needed improved cleaning. The soundproofing between the rooms upstairs appears worse than rooms on the first floor where I have normally stayed before I did not want to pay extra for breakfast, but I did want coffee in the room. Everything was there but it was so dark in the corner where the kettle and tea things were located. It was not easy to efficiently make a drink. Unfortunately, I missed the cup with the kettle and then having filled it partially knocked it over trying to get the kettle back into the corner to sit on its charger. the packets of sweetener were rock hard and although I did try to use one the taste was dreadful so I had to throw it away and start again. When you check out, they don’t always ask you how you enjoyed your stay and give you the opportunity to comment on small issues such as these and this time was no different
Very pleasant
Air conditioning
Zimmer war großzügig und hat für uns zwei Erwachsene und ein Kind super gepasst!

Love the garden and food was good value for money.
Sloping ceiling in bedroom made it challenging not to hit your head when getting out of bed!
The room was huge and very comfortable.
Top ! PDJ complet, restauration sur place, boisson offerte de bienvenue parking sécurisé et gratuit pour motos et voitures
Rien
Location was OK but there is a strict 15.00 check in policy - we arrived 10 minutes before check in and were told about the strict 15.00 policy. Room was adequate and they accommodated our little dog for no extra charge. Service was very good.
Some beers were off - being advertised as a Brewhouse - not good. Food was ok but basic pub grub. The place looks a bit drab from the outside but once you're there it grows on you. Breakfast at £16 seemed expensive so we didn't partake
Die Größe der Zimmer,Ausstattung, die Freundlichkeit vom Personal . Es gibt für Allergiker ein extra Speisekarte.
Lovely building very close to Worthing town centre with the added bonus of parking. Our room was small but comfortable with a balcony. We had breakfast on one of the morning’s which was very good.
It is quite easy to hear noise from other rooms especially doors opening and closing which if you are light sleeper may be a problem.
Room was stunning, loved it!
Nothing!
Great location and good breakfast. Spacious room, thoughtfully decorated.
Room for quite hot in the evening, even with the windows open, although it was very hot generally
Modern ,clean room the bed was really comfortable
Decent room, very comfortable bed and chilled water in the fridge was a nice touch.
Shower didn't work properly, nor the door lock on the bathroom. Just details I guess but other places get them right.
The Brewtel was very different and a great alternative to a normal pub.
The huge extraction fan right outside the window.
Everything, you wanted in a holiday stay.
A little run down, needed a new painting. Stairs were a bit steep for older guests.
Location and ease of self check in.
Cobwebs in the bathroom, dirty balcony with cigarette butts scattered around the place and cobwebs. Breakfast was missing the avocado from the vegetarian option.
Really friendly staff. Nice setting. Very clean and comfortable room
Issue with toilets in the main pub area. The men's were all blocked. Food from pub - was okay, food portions seemed small for price. Lots of waiting to order food as it was 'happy hour'.
Location, friendly staff. The room was a good size. Food and drink a good selection.
The pub area and stairs could do with a lick of paint and a deep clean.
Great location for town and visiting friends. Staff were friendly and helpful. Had dinner, which was delicious and came within a good timely manner. The room was as described, clean, comfy with a little quirkiness to make it even better.
That I couldn’t stay longer.
Rooms were okay but no means of cooling or ventilating them (non openable windows) meant we left before we baked for a second night.
Alles (op 2x een koude douche na)
2 keer geen warm water omdat ze iets vergeten te resetten ofzo
We had great customer service explaining where was room and how to use keypad. The room was lovely and modern with a lovely shower. The comentary drink was very welcome
Only a little thing..to use a hairdryer the plug was to far from the mirror
Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room. Food ok.
No issues. Hotel was much as described and suited our purpose.
Room was a good size. Well designed with plenty of phone sockets and plugs. Shower nice and hot. Great location. Very nice pub garden and different rooms inside. Only a short walk to the seafront.
Lots of stairs to get to the room. Stayed for 2 nights and room was not cleaned after the first night.
La camera era grande e confortevole. La struttura era situata in un bel parco, e alla sera siamo riusciti anche a vedere una volpe. Ci hanno anche omaggiato di un drink gratis. Parcheggio ampio e disponibile . Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.
The staff gardens and very family friendly.Food was very good.
It’s a busy place, needs a little touch up here and there. The stairs were a bit too steep.
Comfortable bed good nights sleep
Clean room and comfortable bed and good pillows quite quiet at night
Loved the pub atmospher. Food good and beer great. Freddy & Oscar are the BEST. We saw the fox 🦊 from our room window.
Lovely place to stay. Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Great location, friendly staff, great breakfast.
Our sink was blocked so drained really slowly, we also omitted to report it which we should have done but forgot.
Food, service
Toilet flush was behind the toilet lid - odd! No hand rail in the shower to steady yourself
