Maritime Inn Antigonish

Excellent location. Very friendly & helpful front desk staffers! Guests can walk about the nice downtown area. There is the attached "Main Street Cafe", which is very nice and is where you will enjoy your complimentary breakfast in the morning. Also on the Property, is an outdoor pub/eatery with EXCELLENT wood fired Pizza!!

The room itself, was very "tired" & in need of a redo. Rust on several areas of the bathroom. Bed was comfortable; we killed 15 +/- mosquitoes, before going lights-out. Guessing, housekeeping had the door open while cleaning between guests.

There was a good choice for Breakfast, the room was spacious and the hotel was centrally placed.

The restaurant and breakfast includes with your stay are fantastic. Kept is coming back and may again even though we didn’t enjoy the hotel part of the stay as much.

Have stayed here a few times now and it sadly seems to be on a bit of a downswing. Just looking a bit tired. Hallways needed vacuuming, carpets really worn out, open views into messy storage rooms from the lobby, AC leaking onto carpet in room. Just not a great impression. All that said, we still slept well and over the years we’ve had many good stays here so hopefully this was a blip or a phase…

It’s conveniently located and decent.

It smelled a little musty, the air conditioner is loud when it kicks in during the night and the temperature swing is a lot before it kicks in and cools it off again. The cafe was closed in the morning during breakfast even though breakfast was supposed to be included.

Breakfast very good in the Main Street Cafe. Location excellent, short walk to restaurants and Peace by Chocolate shop.

Somewhat old-fashioned, however management appears to be making steady improvements to decor and room amenities.

Breakfast was delicious. Staff kind. Room more spacious than anticipated. Like having fridge and microwave. Parking & location was perfect.

Issues were bathtub did not drain well, it took about 15to20 minutes for the tub to drain. And the ac unit didn't work, it wouldn't cool the room to lowest temperature cuz it kept shutting off for long stents then kicking back on.. also the ac filter was user dirty (my husband always checks these at hotels & its rarely done, so no uncommon issue)

The breakfast was delicious and location was good.

We booked for 3 people. There was only 2 towels in the room. My daughter went down to ask for another towel and the man told her there is some extra towels in the drawer under the tv. There was nothing in the drawer. Went to have a shower and there was long black hair in the shower and 2 of us are blonde and one is bald, so obviously not ours. Have a shower and the water is not draining and it covers my ankles. I look up and the ceiling is covered in mold. The fan is not working and covered in dirt/dust. The funny thing is that they promote "The cleanest place in town", what a joke. Seed attached pictures

Lorsque nous voyageons avec un chien, il est agréable d'avoir une belle chambre, surtout avec les frais qu'on nous charge de plus. Certains établissements nous donnent de vieilles chambres vétustes. La nôtre avait des griffures sur les portes, comme si des chiens y avaient été enfermés.

Beds were fantastic, super clean, Antigonish was also a very nice discovery

It was a great location within easy walking distance of a nice restaurant. The included breakfast was good.

The carpet was old and had a roll in it that is a trip hazard especially for older folks like us. The wall ac unit rattled and it’s off and on again noise kept us from sleeping well. About the time you got to sleep the thing came on and the noise woke us up.

Clean, and you get a REAL breakfast.

Close to main highway. Room was spacious, the extra eating table was a bonus.

Parking lot is very dark. Stairs and hallway Carpets to 2nd floor were dirty, dust under table and on chairs in the room. Had a 2 double beds, one bed was a foot shorter than the other and made noise like it was covered in a plastic bag. I can most certainly look past this. However the most unpleasant experience was the night desk clerk. We arrived at 11pm after a very long day of travel. He looked annoyed to get off his phone and comfy chair to assist us. Did not greet us with a warm welcome or even say hello. Did not make eye contact. Asked for our name and then cut me off while I was trying to answer. Pushed a piece of paper in front of me and at rapid speed told me to sign, initial and rambled something about the breakfast. He didn’t take the time to explain what I was signing. And coincidently, 10 minutes after checking in I got a txt from an unknown number wanting payment for the hotel even though I just paid. We have stayed at 6 hotels in the last 2 wks, never have I received a scam txt, nor did we receive bad customer service. We left at 7am, breakfast does not start till 7:30am, where most hotels start at 7am or early on week days. Its one thing having to be forced to pay $285 a night, (even though you say free breakfast I pretty sure it was factored in that high room rate) but then having to combine that with such poor customer service as well, adds to why this was an overall terrible experience. I will note that the morning clerk at least acknowledged us with a warm smile and a hello. Would have been nice if she asked how our experience was. That would at least let us know the owners care about their clients experience.

Good size rooms. Very clean. Great onsite restaurant. Very comfortable bed. Right in the centre of town.

Soap, shampoo dispenser came free from its holder. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months, 😖

We did not have the breakfast. Whereas we were staying with our dog we could not dine in without leaving him alone in the room and that was not acceptable for our accommodations.

We were happy with everything. No complaints at all.

The hotel is basically a motel and is kind of ragged around the edges, but the room itself was clean and comfortable, if a bit dated, with a nice bed. Includes a good breakfast in the adjacent restaurant. I don't think there's much in this town in terms of luxury accommodations, and we used it mainly as an overnight stop on the way back to the Halifax airport, but there's a charming main street with several restaurants with outdoor seating, and a pleasant community vibe. We did NOT go during the college school year, so I can't speak to anything we heard about rowdy students.

The bathtub was challenging to climb in for a shower. It was a special tub but too much for us. The stairs were steep for carrying luggage.

This is an older place but they have done a great job with updating Liked that side chair was leather instead of fabric which I prefer as it can be cleaned better Breakfast was amazing, best ever as it took place at reset aura t. We had eggs beni and o let and both were amazing and included Bed and pillows comfortable

The one thing was bathroom door needed updating and the ironing board was a bit damp ( I use for extra bags/ suitcases)

There is no elevator. So if carrying your luggage up stairs is an issue, request a room on the main floor. Wasn't an issue for us even though we were on the second floor. That being said I am sure the staff would help if you asked.

Nice hotel in a central location - easy walk to several restaurants plus a restaurant within the hotel (we didn’t eat there but the menu and reviews looked good). The rooms were clean and comfortable. The young man working the front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful.

There was a constant humming noise coming from somewhere, could have even been from another building, that was annoying. We still slept well as it was like a white noise so we didn’t complain and I forgot to mention it when we checked out.

Overall it is a nice spot, have stayed there a few times in the past year. All staff at the hotel and restaurant excellent.

Very clean room, lots of electrical outlets and USB charging ports,comfortable bed and a large room. There was plenty of parking and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

The included Breakfast was fantastic. Everything was hot and quick to the table. Please remember to tip the wonderful staff here. I think some people may forget this when breakfast is included in their stay.

The location was great, right in the town centre and close to local bars and shops. We visited in the winter so there was not much open and the park was closed due to snow. Breakfast and the diner on site was exceptionally good, a rare treat. All staff were very friendly and helpful. When we decided to shorten our stay to get ahead of the weather, the manager called me to make sure we were not leaving because there was a problem with the room. The bed was very comfy and the room was warm, with a table and two solid armchairs.

The hotel doesn't have a gym or a pool. We were in the main hotel and there was no elevator to the rooms on the upper floor, if we'd had lots of bags or cases it would have been a problem. Parking was difficult when we first arrived as the parking lot is shared with the diner on site, and was busy with lunch service.

Breakfast was delicious. My only complaint is that there was no non-dairy milk so I couldn't have my coffee.

I would prefer a room with no carpet, but I know that many places do not have this option.

The location was perfect for us. Close to the hospital where we had an appointment. We were pleasantly surprised at the breakfast menu. So much better than the continental breakfast we expected.

This is based on my night there. I am sure that for others it may be different. The front desk service was good , very friendly. The room was actually nice but I had a room that was from the outside ( like motels) instead of from inside and if you wanted to go to the restaurant or front desk you had to put on boots and coat. I was not comfortable with this type of room. Unfortunately you can hear the people in the rooms next to you . You park the car in front of your door and you will hear other cars when they arrive/leave. The indoor rooms were closed. The breakfast at the restaurant was good and you pick from the menu. The location is great if you want to walk around the Main Street. Restaurants close by as well.

The location was great being able to walk around the village. The restaurant was excellent both breakfast and dinner. The beds were very comfortable, rooms spacious and clean with needed furniture. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

King Bed was excellent! Room was extremely clean. Great location to walk everywhere! We loved the delicious breakfasts both mornings and received the same service by 2 different friendly and accommodating staff. By far an outstanding hotel 👌highly recommend to all our friends.
