Poenamo Hotel

The staff are very friendly and helpful! Love how there is a swimming pool and playground for the kids and the rooms are a good size! We will definitely be back to stay next year!!

The bedroom was clean and tidy. Comfortable beds.

The pillows were high and really hard. The kitchenette was dated, stained wall tiles and hot plates. Needed a revamp. Access to glasses and cups in cupboard at floor level. Should be eye level or above. Almost overpowering smell of something like air freshener to the point of distraction.

The room was comfortable, tidy and clean with all amenities.

The bathroom could have an exhaust fan.

The location was good, the bed was so comfy.

The floor looked unvaccumed in the hallway, there was no microwave & the shower over the tub was not good. Also you had to open a window for wifi to work. The carpet in the room near the shower seemed to have water up underneath it at times it felt wet.

The single pod was ideal for me. It had what I value … clean (pristine actually), safe and quiet. It was reasonably priced in the area I needed. The main hotel was typical two story U shaped around a central pool. Very kid friendly with nearby playground. So lots of noisy, rude teens racing between rooms. But the lovely single pod was up a hill and across a meadow. Away from the maddening crowd. It has all you need: bed, desk, chair, microwave, refer, kettle, toaster. Cups, etc Hot water was plentiful. If you don’t spot what you need (a bath towel) poke around in cabinets. The space is small and they had to be hidden. No place to hang clothes. WiFi was strong a (except a short while when the maddening crowd arrived) and the bed comfortable. There is mini-split(?) that both heats and cools. Be prepared for them to want $100 cash bond or a copy of your debit card details The reception has limited hours. I had to leave early and the key card could be dropped in a slot.

Near food shops and convenience store. Can go for a walk to nearby field

None

The best bed I have slept in away from home.

Having to walk past the bar to get to my room was weird as I was there visiting family so came back late at night and found that a bit weird. But the room was lovely and comfortable.

The location, proximity to many areas, Sky TV, room that opened onto pool, ease of parking.

Despite some minor maintenance requirements, value for money.

Area suited our needs perfectly.

Rooms a little dated.

I love what you have done to the place, the renos look amazing. the bigger fridge was good too as the last few times we have stayed there hasn't been enough room on the fridge for supplies. New Hobs are awesome too, gives more options for meal time

The internal access door into the units next door, I understand the concept but when you can hear every sneeze, cough, snore and full conversations, that makes the experience unpleasant. Being woken at 4am but loud guess next door, when you have an 8hr drive ahead of you was not good

Location as we had an event at Eventfinda stadium

The pool being directly next to a public bar. The curtains in our room were very thin.

Bath tub was too high..need to place a step.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating around checkin

Location and service from staff.

The shower was ok, but the shower in the room from our last stay was better.

Condition of the room

Location for our event was great, only a 2km walk. Bed was comfortable and clean.

Our shower didnt work and we couldnt get in touch with anyone after numerous calls. we also left our number and nobody returned our call. There was also quite a bit of mould in the bathroom.

Close to what we required

No spa pool

Great place

close to the event we attended great and great food options close by

I liked the way it was set out

Rooms little bit dated

Love staying here, lovely and clean and so convenient with the backyard bar right next door

all good

It’s our second time staying at Poenamo Hotel, we love the location, so close to all the stores, and the best part is the backyard restaurant with the best food! Staff is always helpful and the room is super clean and tidy

Internet is still very bad, If you need internet wifi for work is sooo bad, slow, and sometimes doesn’t even work.

The bar and pool

The access to the room.

The room had everything we need.

The hotel sign is not very easy to see. We mist it the first time.

bed and double pod

the pod was damp and cold

Lovely and clean.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay to be honest keep up the awesome work

The pool was out of order

I loved everything! Was very clean, and comfortable☺️

We thought it would be a good location being across the road from netball courts for a tournament, but ended up disappointed and frustrated. Tidy enough and potential to be a good stay, but wasn't sound proofed and noise meant lack of sleep.

They wanted $100 on arrival for a cancelation security bond, and wanted us to sign an agreement setting out cancelation terms, when we had prepaid and were there to check in, with no intention of canceling. The room looks over a pool, beyond metal bars of pool gate was a pub, we were told noise would be done by 11pm which was late enough the night before an early start and tournament day. But the noise continued till sometime after 12.15am. Booming base, loud music, drunken singing etc. Not a good night's sleep at all.

Close to where we needed to be and the staff were exceptional, very understanding of travel disruption, and the beds were sooooo comfortable!

A little dated but this is so minor as everything else is great, you can see improvements being made with additional cabins etc, I think this place will be a real gem as they continue to develop!

I got burnt in the shower. No cold water coming through the faucet

Good location. Restaurants on site. Had a bath. Comfy bed. Good internet. Friendly staff. Good heating/air con.

I was next to the bottle bin from the bar so had glass being thrown in the bin after 10pm and also very close to the delivery area so was woken up just after 6.

Great little house, met our expectations fully and then some, was in Auckland for a Family members 50th birthday party, little house was more than big enough to invite a few family members over beforehand for some drinks / nibbles.

Beds were OK maybe a little to firm. 2 single bedrooms with only one single bed in them each, just an observation 2 more single beds could easily be accommodated for.

I have stayed here several times and use it for convenience and I am familiar with its facilities and location

Liked the restaurant right next to the building. Perfect location

Bar was close

I requested for ground level room and was told I did not request that when yet I know I did because I knew we we're going to be to drunk to go up flight of stairs

It was perfect for what we needed a big grouping dance mums

Nothing

Bathroom tiny; no place for makeup bag, no hook for clothes

Location & staff are fantastic

Exit doors were a bit hard to close, water pressure in shower was very weak

Ease of access to the venues off site for meetings/training I was atending

Carparking

Not clean

I really enjoyed my stay great room service ☺️ warm comfortable beds great price so will definitely be staying there again when in auckland :)

there was nothing I didn't like :)

I booked the Villa, I loved the privacy, the affordability, location was great distance to everything including the motorway.

Villa was missing kitchen equipment. Oven dishes, more bowls etc

Beautifully renovated room

Was noisy at times.

Everything is close by

Nothing

The price and location are absolutely ideal for events held at the stadium.

I was unable to fully experience or explore the surroundings.

Clean great value Fabulous staff

Patched up hole in bathroom door Wifi very slow

Convenient location

Warn carpet - needs replacing.

It was warm with the little heater on, Staff were friendly, and the room was comfortable, outside area lovely, TV was awesome, we really wanted to get in the pool but were just too busy, cooked once had everything we needed in the kitchen Thank You

How free the kids can run around no harm everythng was near compfy bed ect..great place

I guess Pool was too cold wish it could be heated other then tht its perfect

Location

Facilities old

Took our own breakfast

The website shows the villas and lots of space and grass. We didn't see any of that!

The beds

No wifi upstairs

The location was great! The staff were really nice and helpful & willing to accommodate to our family and our requests. Clean & tidy!

Overall a great place to stay.

Basic stay, everything you really need

Very impressed with the interior quality. Super comfortable bed.

We came in straight after the cleaners and the smell of detergent was very overpowering.

comfortable bed :)

Its an okay and good enough place to stay, it is just on the older side and needs some loving. Eg, air-conditioning pipe was set up to be dripping in to the bath.
