Tight parking. The couch in our room was so well used it was uncomfortable. No actual welcome at all. Never saw the manager/or owner apart from when I needed to get more milk and a tea towel. No goodbye or thanks for staying. Just a drop box.

Thermal pool was great. Filter coffee in the room was a perfect addition- nice to have a good cup in the morning. Staff were also friendly.

Central, comfortable and it had its own thermal bath!

Room was clean and the bed was really comfortable.

We never met the hosts and yet we arrived mid afternoon. We came and we went unnoticed, left to find our bearings in the service book. The lights outside the front door were way too intrusive. They were on until at least 10:30pm and came back on around 5:30am. The air-conditioning had a mind of its own. Location to town not the greatest. Car absolutely necessary.

Location was great. Room was spacious, clean and we loved the inground thermal pool. We did have a partial view of the lake too. Would definitely book again!

Onsite parking was tight and limited, but offsite (street) parking still looked secure. But that's it.

Rooms are large. The outdoor thermal pool was fantastic. Great location.

Really enjoyed the hot pool

This place was beautiful! The room was warm, super clean and the courtyard was gorgeous, the mineral pool was lovely and it had a nice view of the lake. Location wise it was great, nice and central.

The only thing I can fault was the bed. It was lumpy and bumpy and made for a uncomfortable nights sleep. If it wasn't for that I would have rated 10 out of 10. But for someone who needs a good night's sleep between daytime activities, it wasn't good.

Thermal spa was a highlight.

The room had very beautiful touches. From the milk being in a glass jar to be more environment friendly to the neatly created hand towel basket in the bathroom with the soap and conditioner to sit in. Also they provided bath salts for the spa bath, and even replaced our towels and dried our dishes when we returned to our room in the afternoon. The spa pool was lovely and clean and my partner thoroughly enjoyed the heat of this pool. This Motel is top level and we are very happy with our stay and will look at staying again in the future.

I had trouble getting out of pool. Could you have a rail to help get out or would this not be suitable in m8neral water. I had the same problem with the room pool. Not as flexible as I once was.

Our stay was great, they had a lot of kitchen stuff like a gas stove and microwave.

Things could be better though, the internet was super slow, and the smart TV was so slow we couldn't even watch YouTube or Netflix, probably because of the Wi-Fi. Also, the bed was too soft for me, and since it was two single beds pushed together, there was a gap in the middle that kind of sagged. Oh last thing, parking can be tight as the space for parking was tight.

We have stayed at Baycrest Lodge a few times - it is our choice of accommodation in Taupo. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and always spotlessly clean. The amenities are good. We’ve tried the balcony rooms and the rooms with plunge pools and both are great. We most of all love the pool, only ever been the only ones in it when we have stayed. So lovely to have a hot thermal pool onsite.

Our room was welcoming, clean and comfortable. Our room was a generous size and had a lovely view of the lake. The bedding gave lots of options to snuggle for a cold night and the heating kept us warm.

i think what could’ve been better was maybe having a smart tv since a lot of hotels have them. might be a good option or idea for future.

The room was a great size with an enormous, very comfortable bed. I loved having a private hoot pool on the patio. It had a lovely outlook over the lake, and was very warm, much appreciated in the middle of winter. The large pool was absolutely wonderful. It was a great temperature and I only saw one other person use it during my 4 day stay. There was a lovely pool house common area which had board games, books, couches etc. I had pre booked tickets to visit a number of hot pools around Taupo, but wouldn't bother in future as this one was just as good, and almost private.

Love, love, love the hot pools

Absolutely incredible stay, the staff were lovely and the view was perfect. My partner and I loved making use of the dart board in the communal area, there were other puzzles and board games for guests to enjoy as well.

The only thing I would say is that it’s about a 20 minute walk into town with all the restaurants. However there are places to park if you are wanting to drive in.

We loved the view, the bed was super comfy, the spa bath was great.

Parking was challenging

Very spacious 1 bedroom apartment. Comfortable bed. Quiet and private. Double basin vanity. Private outdoor area and private outdoor mineral water bathtub. Also a shared swimming pool for all guests, it would be great in summer.

The hot tub was a lovely addition and the kitchenette was excellent. The staff were very accomodating and the motel was so close to the beautiful lakeshore.

The hot tub looked a bit dirty (but that may have been mineral buildup), the room was a bit larger than perhaps needed, and the bathroom a bit small.

Wonderful staff who were so accommodating to our needs. The private hot tub was fantastic to lounge in after a day out. I can't recommend this motel highly enough and it will be the only we place we stay when visiting Taupo.
