Well situated for all of the Cotswolds attractions
Small room, main building heating was on so room was warm, dirty room fan , room cleanliness was average, no fridge in room, building works being carried out on next building roof which started at eight in the morning , breakfast was average. No little extra touches in the rooms
Great location; close to train station.
It is overpriced.
Breakfast was good quality and well presented
Staff not particularly engaging
The rooms could do with some kind of aircon we didn’t sleep at all in the heat also we were in a top floor room with alcove ceiling so had to get out of bed at the bottom
Location is excellent
NA
A very attractive hotel with garden and outside seating, a quiet library room, very attractive dining rooms. Staff helpful and friendly.
breakfast
coffee machine
Ambiente raffinato tipicamente inglese
Room nicely decorated, bed comfy and restaurant was good
Room was a touch small
The staff was helpful and friendly. They even helped me find a box for the post, which was above and beyond the requirement.
The hotel is in a very old building, so we expected quirky and unusual. Even the attic room with the slanting ceiling was kind of charming. However, parts of the property look shabby and not well maintained. For example, the carpeting on the stairs going up to the rooms was worn and appeared dirty, as did the floor around it. The reception area carpet is threadbare and appears to be disintegrating. Some attention to the upkeep could make this a really pleasant experience.
We found the Breakfast room beautiful surrounded by the trees and shrubs. Although the Hanging Baskets were beautiful the actual front garden looked a bit sad and around the back and borders.
The front and back garden looked neglected and dead growth as it’s the first thing visitors see. The baskets hanging were beautiful though
Room was spacious with several windows overlooking the garden. Furnishings and decor were in keeping with the style of the building. We enjoyed the bar menu steak sandwich and the plentiful breakfast. Parking was good and staff were helpful. The library/ sitting room is a nice place to sit and read. There were lots of nice touches in the room including delicious shortbread and bathrobes. Also none of the annoying packets of milk but a little bottle which was much better.
The tv wouldn’t work properly, we could probably have made a fuss but it was getting late when we discovered this. The bathroom was mostly good with lovely toiletries but the grout in the shower was badly discoloured and off putting which I didn’t expect in a room at this cost.
Her şey mükemmeldi.
It was a lovely building in a lovely setting
The room we had was stuck up in the attic. It was really warm and all we had was a fan that didn’t really do anything. He couldn’t see out the windows. It was almost like being in a prison cell.
Staff were friendly and professional. The hotel was clean with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
Nothing to dislike
Easy to find, good location for walking around Moreton
View from the bedroom, rooftop and air com unit
Accogliente, staff disponibile, buona colazione
Bagno piccolo, letto queen size
Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent location. Room clean and tastefully decorated
N/A
Oldy worldly, central location to the Cotswolds, quiet, breakfasts are good, restaurant food was excellent.
Nothing was disliked
The restaurant and garden area were very pretty; and the building itself. Good food, too. Staff were not very helpful, so service was very average.
I didn’t like the customer service:reception staff, and the room was cute but lots of scuffs on the wall and lots of dust near the kettle (that didn’t work) and on some of the electrical cords in that area.
The property was old on the outside but inside kept lovely rooms were big and spacious. Everything was clean. Beds were comfortable. Staff was amazing. Food was lovely. Would go back again.
Breakfast was good
It was dusty, floor was very unclean and the walls and doors had stains on it. It was very expensive for the quality of the hotel.
.
The garden was much larger than we thought. The staff were great and breakfast lovely.
Fairly limited choice in the evening restaurant and a bit overly priced compared to other places nearby.
The outside courtyard was really nice & the location was great.
We had a dirty water glass in our room & there was not a topper on the mattress so you could feel the divide of the 2 single beds. The bar stopped serving cocktails at 10pm which seemed early. The bar had some people in it which were not staying at the hotel and they were quite loud - looked like they knew the bar staff so it wasn’t quite the quiet drink we had hoped for.
The hotel property was beautiful and the staff was prompt and helpful. We liked the breakfast spread, it had vegetarian options. We were glad we included the breakfast in our stay. The room had all amenities, including a fan which was so needed in this heatwave. There was a restaurant and a pub in the hotel which added to the list of benefits of staying in this hotel. Location wise too, this hotel scores some big points.
We were slightly disappointed by the room size. The bathroom was decently sized, but the bedroom seemed crammed and had a low ceiling. Since we were staying with a toddler, they did provide us with a crib but they could have provided us with a bigger room, considering the room fare.
A lovely, traditionally decorated room. We loved staying here. The breakfast was awesome.
The property looks very authentic yet the rooms are modern and well equipped. I have only words of praise to our stay here: food is delicious (we had breakfast included), rooms are clean, staff is friendly and helpful, pets are welcomed. The property features a large garden where you can enjoy a good tea/drink.
There isn't really a thing that I can name.
Dinner. It was tasty and we were served promptly.
Locali ben arredati e accoglienti. Camera pulita e bel giardino esterno. Colazione ottima e personale molto gentile.
Bagno molto piccolo e un po datato. Assenza aria condizionata ma normalmente non servirebbe.
Very pretty, typical Cotswold property. Great car park. Nice bar (although no bottled water?!) Very good breakfast (although I said I didn’t eat much so asked for a smaller portion and it came out huge so I left half).
On main road, so noisy. Knew this when booking but didn’t expect great big food delivery lorries thundering through in the night. Dinner was very expensive (and both steaks tough) and when we asked for coffee in the courtyard afterwards a random wasp (no others about) flew straight in one cup - they charged £4 for another coffee when we’d spent £180 on dinner for two. I expected a normal reaction of ‘oh goodness, don’t worry at all, I’ll bring you another’. Courtyard garden needs trimming and cleaning. Staff very sombre …. except housekeeping who were normal and friendly.
The Hotel is at a great location . Onsite parking a bonus.
We did visit in the heatwave unfortunatrly would be loved cold water left in an ice bucket or a fridge to enjoyed cool drinks. We had to ring room service each time .
Teilweise angespannte Stimmung („because the House is haunted…“)? Preise für Barkonsum noch etwas höher als erwartet
Location , cleanliness, staff
No WiFi in the rooms
Excellent breakfast
Zeer lekker ontbijt, prachtige kamer.
Breakfast was very good. We had one dinner and a Sunday lunch - all very good. Our room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is lovely and the garden is amazing. Plenty of parking without needing to go to the main car park.
Some of the staff were lovely but some behaved as if they didn’t want to be there. Ordering a pot of tea for two in the library turned out to be a long process. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. Our bathroom wasn’t serviced at all on the last day. Having to climb in and out of the bath to have a shower doesn’t suit everyone and this arrangement should be made clear.
Central
Beautiful hotel & rooms. Lovely garden. The Maitre D in the restaurant was excellent & so sensible! Great breakfast.
Parking - 1st impressions count. Sort out spaces, put lines on ground so people park in slots rather than anyhow. And then sort out & train your 2 receptionists - the weakest part of the stay - not acceptable for a hotel of this level.
We loved the charm of the historic building and outdoor patio. Our room was charming but also completely comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They actually opened the restaurant kitchen just for us when we wanted to eat after they had stopped serving lunch.
The room did not have air conditioning which I did not realize at the time of booking. We were fortunate that the heat wave had passed and we were fine with the fan provided.
Everything except the wifi
The wifi was intermittant and week a lot of the time
great location and friendly staff, fantastic breakfast and evening meal
my room had an extractor fan outside of the window (room 19)
Everything
Nothing!
Beautiful old Manor House with a gorgeous dining area.
Our room was in the attic and we were there during a heat wave in July so it was very hot
Great location and a good base to explore and relax
None
Not a lot. It was only just ok.
Lots.
Cucina ottima
Unica pecca purtroppo di molto hotel inglesi…mancanza dell’aria condizionata in camera
Good location and excellent breakfast.
Absolutely nothing.
Great breakfast and lovely garden to sit in. Great location
Menu poor and same each night
Beautiful period property
Breakfast
A little harder bed.
The whole set up was very nice
Great food and great location for the local opera room was great. stayed in room no 1
was noisy from above room. could be better sound proving. but as a listed building it may be difficult to do.
The room was nice and the whole hotel was Lovely. Beautiful Gardens & Lovely outside seating area. Staff were friendly & helpful. Bar area was nice. Had a good selection of drinks in the bar and about average price.
The food on the menu was defiantly not to our taste. It was all that fancy stuff and we just wanted what we call " Normal". Also not much choice at all especially vegan/vegetarian. They need a "Normal" food menu and a lot more choice really. Breakfast was good and plenty to choose from but that was the only good menu.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location for the high street. Large garden to relax in. The room was a decent size and had everything we needed. Staff were friendly and breakfast was fabulous! Free parking is a welcome bonus!
Nice and spacious room with lots of character. Comfortable bed, large and well equipped bathroom and a fan in the room which helped with the extreme heat. The breakfast was probably the best I’ve had on this tour.
Comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent. Reception staff were brilliant, especially the Spanish lady, she was exceptionally helpful. We went for our anniversary and it was lovely to have a card in the room, great touch. Nice cocktails!
The tuna sandwich at lunch was done with bread you get at a supermarket, it would have been much nicer with bloomer bread for example. The toilet paper needs to be better quality, however this is just being picky!
Beautiful setting in historic building. The room was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Loved the breakfast and the cheerful breakfast dining area with views of the garden
Bathroom was small but very clean and updated
This is a well looked after old property with a lovely garden/patio area to sit in. Being old it comes with the expected creaky floors. The beds are comfortable and the room clean. No complaints there other than road noise. Breakfast is cooked to order with fruit and cereal available buffet-style.
This is not a cheap hotel so the expectations are always going to be higher. Reception staff were friendly, restaurant staff were a little "stressed" when we asked for a table with no prior booking. It was obviously not a full sitting at our time of arrival. Nonetheless we were seated and an hour later we'd gone (restaurant still not full). Our room was well appointed and comfortable but was roadside (it's a very busy road). Double glazing can only do so much for noise reduction. The road does quieten down by 8pm but obviously there's always some traffic. The real issue is noise from rooms above. The property is an old building and unless you have a top floor room you'll hear every footstep lound and clear from the guests above. So if you're a light sleeper ask for a room on the top floor and at the rear of the property. As our room was a junior suite you'd have thought this was a given but it isn't. Breakfast is ok - nothing outstanding but not terrible either. The hotel is a good central location for Cotswolds attractions and the town has a variety of restaurants and bars all within easy walking distance.
breakfast was excellent!
The peace, the ambience, the overall vibes.
Nothing
We were staying in a cottage with friends on the next road and decided to call in at the Manor House for drinks with a view to staying here on our next visit. The hotel is lovely but to be honest have never come across such unwelcoming staff. At evening drinks in the bar we decided to enquire about breakfast there the following morning as non residents. The gentleman at the bar advised us to enquire at Reception. The receptionist was unhelpful and made us feel awkward and unwelcome and was only interested in taking the £80 payment but then decided we should pay after eating the breakfast. We arrived for breakfast , and the welcome (or no welcome) was even worse. I can’t remember the number of times he mentioned we were non residents. We were still eating our cereal when he asked for our hot food order which we hadn’t decided on , this clearly irritated him and he said ‘ people are usually ready to order now this is when the chef cooks the food ‘ No smile, no pleasantries, no eye contact at all. We headed out to pay at Reception, a different receptionist to the previous evening but just as rude. There was an American lady checking out before us who said thank you as she left … absolutely no response from the receptionist whatsoever. We will definitely not be enquiring about staying next year despite the lovely hotel and good food. Being in customer service for over 30 years I suggest your staff need some training as the way we were spoken to and their manner towards us is unacceptable. Maybe they don’t like tourists/visitors but should remember we all go on holiday and are ‘tourists’ somewhere. We have visited the Cotswolds every year in hotels and self catering and everyone has been very welcoming and polite until this. Such a shame
The breakfast was very good Freshly cooked and the service was excellent.
There was some noise from a wedding party but we were warned in advance and it didn’t go on after midnight
Ideally situated for our stay
We found the bed a little hard and pillows uncomfortable. In the bathroom had to wait a long time for hot water to come through.
Perfect location, Hospitality, Lovely room
We got upgraded to their Apple cottage which was fantastic! I wish I could have stayed longer. I loved their garden, the restaurant, lounge area which felt like a living room and the location close to the station.
I liked everything.
Breakfast
The dining room is BEAUTIFUL and the staff was really friendly and accommodating; the lobby has a fireplace and a library and comfortable furniture; We arrived too early to check in so we were able to store our luggage, which they very kindly delivered to our room; While the room was in a 400+year old part of the building, the hotel had done updates to make the age of the room less apparent. The bathroom was fully renovated and there were single USB outlets by each bedside table and some near the desk. We received shortbread cookies every day and we had coffee and a coffee machine. Breakfast was outstanding---fresh baked goods and meals cooked to order....Very, very, nice;; Desk staff was very nice although we questioned the accuracy of some of the things we were told regarding WIFI.
This hotel has a new portion and an old portion; Our room was in the old portion; Our room was one of two extra large rooms in the hotel; It was situated on the top floor, far away from the lobby; There was no lift available in this section of the hotel so we had to negotiate a total of 33 stairs -broken up into flights of 3, 6, 10 individual stairs connected with little hallways. ; Each set of stairs was closed off by firedoors. It could only be described as a rabbit warren; Because there was no signage directing us to the lobby, I ended up in the basement twice until I figured out the route! Our room had a lovely bed and chairs and a desk, While the bathroom was newly renovated, there were no electrical outlets in it; The bathroom had a shower in a tub and, while very stylish, the size and contour of the tub made going in and out a bit hazardous; The most frustrating part of our stay involved WIFI. WIFI was available in our room if I stood by the hallway door or went into the hallway. Otherwise, getting or keeping a WIFI connection while in our room was nearly impossible. The front desk finally admitted that WIFI reception could be a little spotty; When we asked to change rooms, there were no rooms available. Be aware that there is no air conditioning in the room, although we did have a fan; The windows need to be opened for air circulation and there was some road noise since our room was on the front side of the hotel;
locatie
hygiëne en vriendelijkheid personeel
Me senti numa casa de campo fofa. Tudo muito bonito.
Acústica… conseguia ouvir os quartos vizinhos.
Beautiful old fashioned hotel. Lovely restaurant setting and the garden is very pleasant in the summer.
We were so so happy with the interior and exterior of the hotel. I was sad to leave. I took so many pix of our hotel room and the grounds as I was just in love.
We were there over a weekend during a heatwave and it was ridiculously noisy during a heat wave because we had to open windows. We didn’t sleep much at all.
Location, staff, breakfast!
Everything - the details in the room, the staff, the place, the outdoor seating places
Nothing
hot, 1 fan no ai4rcon can't turn off the bathroom heater. noise in walls. Location: A truly beautiful hotel in the heart of the Cotswalds in Moreton in Marsh. Easier to get around in this town than many of them, and very close to all the pretty towns you want to see. This Hotel has a carpark, which I was very pleased for, since it was a busy, hot summer weekend. Unfortunately, the carpark is waaaaay out the back of the property, so pull up, unpack, and THEN go and park the car. A bit of a rigmarole but worth the trouble. Check in: was easy and quick. The building is a historical, and VERY rambling old place. I got lost on multiple occasion, a real maze. Room: was a lovely Deluxe Double room, and it really was a lovely room, but from the get go we had trouble. First, it was VERY hot weather. It had been a hot weekend, and was still very warm. The room had few windows to open, one in the bathroom, and a couple in the main room, but they faced the sun, so ... and no air conditioning. It was stifling. There was one fan provided, which, to be fair, was strong, but we had to have it on all night, as you could not have windows open due to the noise. Making it worse, the bathroom had a towel heater, which was on full blast, and you could NOT turn it off. There was simply no switch. It got hotter and hotter in that room, and was stifling when the windows had to be closed in the evening. Second, there was a whining hum through the wall. some sort of machinery, humming, like fans or extractors. It was loud enough to keep my husband awake all night. Lucky I brought ear plugs. He never thought he'd need them in an upmarket place, in an upmarket room. The next day we mentioned it to reception, who...said 'I've never had anyone complain about that before', and 'that's the room we put our brides and grooms in', and 'it's one of the best room's, - all the reasons why we shouldn't e saying anything.....but not "I'm so sorry, I'll look into it right away.' She also said s;he couldn't think what that was, and that there was nothing in the room next to us. I tried to say there wasn't a room next to us, but a storage area. She did look into it, and found that there was extraction fans.... then it became 'we HAVE to keep them on', 'we couldn't possibly turn them off'. Again, all the reasons why they're right. But the fact is, we'd paid a lot of money for that room, and it was noisy, and boiling hot. Not a great sleep. I find it very hard to believe that no one has ever heard, or mentioned, the humming whine coming from behind the wall ALL night. There was no solution, they had no other rooms, and refunded us an amount, as compensation. We went and bought more earplugs. (I would have liked an airconditioner, but it wasn't THAT much.) Breakfast was ok, some very grumpy people serving, and not very interested in helping. The breakfast room is very pretty, in an arched conservatory, a bit hot on hot days though! Nice big bed and very comfortable, though it was so hot, no linen was necessary. I did notice housekeeping had put a sheet on the bottom of the bed, I thought they may kindly be suggesting a sheet instead of the hot cover. We did't use it, but it was a nice thought. All in all, the room and hotel was lovely, but the lack of air, windows, and the hot towel heater adding to the heat, plus the noisy hum behind the wall, spoilt it a little for us.
Dirty room, uncomfortable bed, overpricing in restaurant, bedbug bites, no feedback when reported to disinterested reception staff
Nothing I can highlight I am afraid to say
The grounds around the hotel itself were beyond what I expected. they were wonderful, especially because of the very unusual heat.
My room was on the west, and the heat poured in until almost midnight. I found it very difficult to sleep, despite the excellent bed. I hope to stay at The Manor again in the future but will ask for any room that does not face west.
The courtyard garden is the prettiest place I saw in the entire Cotswolds. The atrium restaurant is so pleasant. the desk staff were exceptionally helpful. Liked the waiters in the restaurant. This is a classy operation. I had the attic room and the stairs were not really a problem, even though they make a big deal of making sure you know that there will be stairs.
I have zero complaints. This hotel made my stay in Cotswols and I was there 6 stays. I think if I had not been here, my trip would have been miserable due to heat and some other personal issues. So glad I booked here.
Beautiful period property with gorgeous gardens surrounding eating area . The room was lovely with a very well thought out bathroom . Walk in shower was great . Food was fantastic with a good breakfast .
Had a slight feeling of a big hotel rather than a more intimate boutique establishment compared to many we’ve been to. A little impersonal but I would still come back
The gardens
The attic room which was, in our view, wrongly described as a superior double.
Beautiful hotel and gardens. Lovely decor and great food.
We had a lovely deluxe double room but it was at the front of the hotel on the high street which meant we had all the traffic noise. It was a really hot weekend so had to have the windows open. Otherwise I don’t think it would have been a problem.
The food in the restaurant was very poor .
The hotel and gardens were beautiful. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We had a junior suite , which we were very happy with.
There was nothing we didn’t like about it.
All went well. Reception staff very helpful
Music from wedding party

Breakfast was superb . We had a beautiful room .
Wonderful, charming and great service. Good food, lively pub and convenient to public transportation. Highly recommend!
Good breakfast, food good in restaurant
It’s a bit labarinthine
Quality of the food in the restaurant, the garden, the location
Size of the bathroom was ridiculously small in relation to the room rate paid
