An amazing place to stay. Secure, clean, very helpful staff. A brilliant canteen/restaurant. Security on the front gate 24/7. Our room was 007 ( very James Bond) Everyone was very friendly. I'm sure I was the oldest person on site.

I really cannot think of anything we didn't like.Once you get your head round the fact that it is a college that feels a bit like a military base it all makes sense. I'd happily book here again .

The only thing that needed attention was the bathroom. It wasn't all that clean unfortunately. The floor had what looked like either a couple of spots of either blood or poo! We did mention it in the feed back at the college and the surround of the outside base of the shower was dusty, could have done with a good wipe.

Checkout is at 9am. Take a shower cap if you don't want to wash your hair as its a fixed shower about 7 foot high.

Great value place to stay for a walking weekend with girlfriends. We booked two twin rooms, and it was ideal. Moreton in Marsh has several good pubs for dinner, and Lynwood & Co serves an awesome breakfast from 8am.

It was comfortable and felt safe, which can be an issue sometimes when it’s females on their own. We had all the necessities needed and the beds were INCREDIBLY comfortable! I had the best sleep I’ve had in a really long time. We didn’t have breakfast because we had to leave before the start time.

All in all I’d say there’s nothing I didn’t like. If anything an additional chair would have been nice, but that’s purely because we had nowhere to eat our dinner together, one had to sit on a box and the other in the chair provided, so maybe a folding one in the wardrobes as they’re so big? But otherwise we were very impressed and will definitely book again

Eine Unterkunft der etwas anderen Art auf dem sehr weitläufigen Gelände des Fire Service College. Obwohl das College zu Fuß etwa 30 min. außerhalb von Moreton liegt, hält der Bus direkt vor dem Komplex (auch wenn es keine erkennbare Haltestelle gibt, findet sie sich dennoch auf dem Busplan - einfach winken und der Fahrer hält an:-)) und ist in wenigen Minuten im Ortszentrum oder in ca. 15 min. in die andere Richtung in Chipping Norton. Der Zutritt zum Gelände ist über eine Pforte möglich, die offenbar durchgängig besetzt ist, die Abholung der Schlüsselkarte erfolgte an einer Rezeption - alles sehr unkompliziert. Man sollte wissen, dass man von der Pforte bis zum eigentlichen Wohngebäude noch einen gewissen Weg zu Fuß zurücklegen muss. Wer mit dem Auto unterwegs ist, kann jedoch sicherlich auch direkt auf einem der vielen Parkplätze auf dem Gelände parken.

Es wäre schön, wenn es vor Ort einen Haartrockner gäbe und wir haben uns etwas erschreckt, weil sich an den Betten Rollen befanden, sodass beim Versuch, sich zum Lesen an der Wand anzulehnen, eines der Betten plötzlich weggerollt ist - es wäre sinnvoll, die Rollen zu blockieren, bevor Gäste die Zimmer nutzen.

The FSC is a little bit of a strange concoction. Think Premier Inn, but corporate. With fridges and microwaves and washing machines. If you are happy to look after yourselves, then it's a great get away within walking distance of Moreton-in-Marsh. Easy to find, access is via the security guard at the gate, who will direct you to a massive car park and the Reception building. There you will collect your keys and be directed to your accomodation block. The room was pretty much standard Premier Inn, except in blue. I do mention that it was very clean ! The beds were very comfy, the blackout curtains very thick and the doors and walls pretty much soundproof. We slept tremendously well. What is a real bonus is that you also have use of a communal kitchen which had a microwave, sink, fridge, washing machine and dryer. We were quite happy to have a couple of microwave meals and beers on the balcony, looking across the extensive grounds towards the Cotswolds hills. There is also a amenities building with coffee and vending machines, plus two pool tables and air hockey !

Sadly, the Free WiFi wouldn't connect to our phones or iPad. And we had some food and beers stolen from the communal fridge. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Getting in to the room was difficult until we realised the blue fob was the smart key. Could be mentioned on the map or by staff on the gate as arrived after reception was closed.

Very basic , felt like student accomodaton . Had to ring for second set of towels and tea spoon .

We collected the keys from the gate house. It is a fire and police services accommodation which is like a hotel. Parking at the front. Lift didn't work but there were just one set of stairs, only ground and first floors. The grounds are very quiet. The room was a good size and clean. It was the cheapest option in the area which was still a hotel.

Did not even feel like a college when you were in your room. Very comfortable and clean. Will definitely stay again

Tiny beds. Not as clean as I’d like. Door on room didn’t close properly, cistern kept filling up on toilet (noisy). I was expecting a basic stay, but it felt very dreary.

I stayed at the Fire Service College for the first time. The place is practical, clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are kind and helpful. It is a place that makes you feel safe and at peace. In the morning, looking out of the hotel window, you could see the vast park and the squirrels chasing each other around. Moreton-in-Marsh, a lovely town in the Cotswolds, is easily accessible by bus, and from there you can reach many other beautiful places. I would love to return to the Fire Service College next summer for a longer stay. Highly recommended — it gets full marks from me!

Considering that I enjoyed everything about my stay, the only thing I would suggest adding is a café/bar in one of the buildings on the premises, where guests could have breakfast or enjoy a drink after dinner, especially since guests without a car have to return rather early in the evening if they want to make use of the buses. I also think the public transport services could be improved, at least during the high season, as they are not very frequent.

The bus stop for bus number 801 is very close to the college entrance. It is super convenient for day trips. I found more details about available facilities at https://www.fireservicecollege.ac.uk/facilities/accommodation-and-dining/ than I did at the reception desk. There was a small kitchen area on our floor that we found quite helpful. There is no cooking hob, just a microwave, a basin to wash utensils, and a drinking water machine.

More utensils could've been provided in the kitchen area. Coffee / Milk could've been refilled in the room every day.

Property location was brilliant just a few minutes from town, staff were friendly on the reception, beds were so uncomfortable room was boiling (a fan was in there but not helping) think we managed about 2 hours of sleep

Le camere sono di fatto le stesse dei cadetti dell’accademia dei vigili del fuoco. Ci sta la spartanità, però in alcune il bollitore era rotto (o puzzava di bruciato) e tra la prima e la seconda notte non ci sono state cambiate le tazze.

Lo que más me gustó fue la ubicación. En coche está a unos minutos de Moreton in Marsh y está rodeado de árboles y prados, cosa que me encantó. Es un lugar muy tranquilo donde no se oyen ruidos. De hecho, te despiertas con el sonido de los pajaritos y por la ventana se ven ardillas. Además, la habitación es cómoda y limpia y tiene cocina compartida con microondas, lo que te facilita mucho el tema de las comidas. Por último, y solo lo digo como información para futuros viajeros, las habitaciones no tienen secador. Tienes que pedirlo en recepción y ellos te lo prestan y lo tienes que devolver cuando termines de utilizarlo.

Room was clean and tidy, campus is very safe with 24/7 security. The room had desk, fan (which was a blessing during the heatwave), and smart TV. Good location to viist the Cotswolds especially if you have a car - we did not but was still doable as the property is 35 minutes walking distance from the station / town center.

Almost no service at all and WiFi was poorly working. Also zero responses prior to our trip, not even confirming that our check-in time (which was later than available on Booking) worked fine. Got me so nervous that I rang Booking and even they were not able to get in touch with them. Eventually all turned out well but I was prepared to having to find another stay once there and all this stress is not worth it especially considering there is a reception. Finally, not that it is not advertised, but please consider that the walk to the town is quite of a trek - again doable, but probably for decently fiy people and completely dark at night.

Safety box could not be used as it was locked. There was no hair dryer. There was no contact number if you needed something or could not get access to the room.

The wi-fi was not great. I'd score it very low. In fact, that was why I gave an overall score of 7. My first dilemma was that the network in the area was nonexistent. So I was essentially cut off from the rest of the world. The second one was that the passkey to get into the unsecured WiFi was not obvious. I was about to walk to the gate to ask the team for it when I saw it on the wall. Dilemma no 3 was that when I was able to log in, it was very low

It would have helped to be advised about breakfast availability and the need to pre book

1. In the property description someone appraised the good breakfast. Well... there has been some kithchen like object on the college campus, but all was closed, so no breakfast at all :( Some days after we've moved in, one of the bars has been opened in the evening, that's all. 2. The college has a swimming pool, but any time we tried it it was closed - later turned out it was open for the public only in some hectic timeslots. So we hadn't a chance to use it. 3. In the building of our original room there was a hot water outage, so we had to move to a different building. It was much worse, the window was dirty and hardly openable, the community kitchen as well. And as an added bonus, the elevator was out of order.

Excellent facilities for an overnight stay

We booked a last minute weekend to the Costwolds and found availability there! Great location to discover the northern part of the park. Rooms had all basic necessities - clean, toiletries, coffee and tea, fan and TV. This was all we needed to stay the night. We had dinner and breakfast in nearby towns. 24/7 security to enter the site. Wifi and water fountains available in the entrance of the building.

A little more information on where the building/room was on the campus from the main reception would have been helpful as well as information/timing on checkout!
