Sehr gute Ausstattung, genug Parkplatz, Zimmer meist ebenerdig oder mit wenig Stufen zu erreichen, leckeres Dinner
Etwas teuer
The location was excellent. As we were without a car, we were well positioned for trains and busses
It is an old coach house but without the cozy old world feel, which we prefer
Beautifully appointed bedroom, very comfortable bed, hot drinks provided and cookies! Friendly and helpful staff, including providing secure bicycle storage. Lovely dining room with an excellent breakfast cooked to order. Great location in centre of Moreton.
It was clean and nicely decorated . The bed was comfortable
Room not worth the £180 fee. Very hot no fan or air con. Had to have window open which had a restricted opening. Road was very noisy lots of Lorries all through the night . Mugs did not fit under coffee machine and lack of plugs. Smallest shower ever seen ,broken toilet seat. Very noisy band in bar but it is a pub to be fair and stopped by 10.30 , very noisy people in room above us we were in room 5 Asked how our stay was by reception when we checked out. Receptionist put the onus on us the guests saying we should have asked for a fan if we were hot, it was 11 at night when we needed it and the reception was shut down. They should have know it was hot and needed a fan in there. She just seemed to shrug so not sure why she asked how our stay was. Lesson learned do not stay in a pub pretending to be a hotel. This room fee did not even include breakfast that would have been £240!! Not warranted in my opinion even if it’s in the Cotswolds
Hotel in a lovely location. Room was beautiful and clean. Staff extremely helpful and friendly especially Jade from housekeeping. Great parking round the back.
We liked everything…all positive.
Didn’t have breakfast as £15 for just toast a bit too much so ate out. General food prices a little expensive but quality very good
The stair treads were narrow so your heal caught the stair behind and could do with small bannister on first floor corridor when you go up two steps as the landing tilts one way
Lovely staff and good food. Breakfast was lovely and in with the amazing price too. Me and my husband were very impressed with the service. Lovely place to stay bar and restaurant very welcoming place to go. Thank you
Nothing!!!
Location Staff Public areas
Bedroom £300 for a deluxe room - no hair dryer, ironing board but no iron. Poor lighting in bathroom- no makeup mirror or light. No accessories in bathroom eg. Shower cap etc. Bedside lights could not be turned off, except at plug behind cabinet. No bin in room for teabags etc. no case rack. Terrace area dirty and no furniture. Empty fridge between arm chairs
Convenient location. Acceptable car parking spaces. Nice courtyard area.
Very small room near noisy main road poor breakfast service.
La atención es excelente, las camas súper cómodas y la comida deliciosa
Todo bárbaro
Perfect location in the middle of town
A tad expensive but overall good
The location was excellent. But the greatest factor in our rating is based on the warmth of the staff. Josh, the manager, and Kate, the Jack-of-all-trades, stepped in to provide for all of our needs. Table reservations. Taxi bookings. Tourist suggestions. Dietary restrictions. (Josh even took on the role of chef one day!) Servers Kate and Ollie also brightened our stay at every turn. And the property itself is just lovely. Clean and inviting. So welcoming.
Like many older hotels, there is no air conditioning. Our room was a bit warm.
Location Pub/restaurant area was nice aesthetically
Our bedroom - some bits dirty like inside drawers, no cups for tea making, no hairdryer in the room, loose metal floor room divider to the bathroom and exposed screw which we caught ourselves on. TV very sketchy. Room had a funny smell.
I loved everything about the property. It was very well equipped, clean and the food was fabulous. Best cooked breakfast.
Only thing I didn’t like was the shower. The room was so comfortable but the shower had no water pressure and needs updating really to match the room. But it didn’t ruin the stay.
I was really happy with my stay at the Redesdale Hotel, lovely room with every comfort supplied. Breakfast choices very good and plenty of choice on dinner menu. Staff friendly and caring.
The location was perfect, and the food was exceptional. The dining room and patio were really lovely. We had a courtyard room, which was huge with a spacious bathroom and a huge walk-in shower. Tea, coffee, water, and fresh milk were all provided.
The bedroom was very warm as the sash windows didn't move, and there was little through ventilation. The towel rail could not be adjusted from its hottest position. The bed wasn't made up on the 2 days we stayed there.
Nice room, comfortable cosy bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
There isn't anything really.
Nice location and the warm hospitality
Room was a bit noisy as their terrace/open bar is too close to the rooms
Tutto.
Bed was hard.view was discusting.had a cup of hot water.gave me a cup but no saucer.serving for roast.gravy all over.should be a little container. Posh restaurant. No
Beds.and services fir food.
Staff friendly, courteous hard working and helpful.- their greatest asset
There were significant ingrained marks on the carpet in one area . Most likely from a residents boots that had not come clean.
Redesdale er helt fantastisk. Rom, restaurant, hage og interiør. Alt er nyoppusset.
AC hadde vært en stor fordel. En liten vifte blir dessverre for lite når det er varmt.
Spacious room, comfy bed, clean and good facilities in room. Nice touch with the fresh cookies. The pub has been recently refurbished and is very nice. Good value room overall.
It was pretty hot when we stayed and the fan provided could have been bigger.
We stayed night in newly refurbished brakspear Redesdale Hotel. Beautiful hotel, great atmosphere and attentive staff. Menu looked amazing and restaurant very busy. We did have a fab breakfast in the morning with so many choices of main hot breakfast - perfect for the 9.30 start of the Go Cotswold Clarkson Farm tour which left from the station 5 mins walk away. Taking in all the venues of the series. All in all great weekend.
Great location. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Room was like a sauna at night due to heatwave. No air-conditioning, and window had restricted opening to 4 inch gap.
Although closed for refurb earlier in the year, there seemed a few problems with rooms and cooking facilities. Lots of workmen around, but still problems. Lighting and extractor fan in bathroom, and kitchen for breakfast. Nothing drastic and the staff were brilliant. Added bonus of onsite parking.
Access and ingress to car park due to work vehicles and delivery vehicles.
Perfect location. Beautiful bar and restaurant.
First night after reopening due to refurbishments. Staff were very accommodating but a couple of hiccups. I’m sure this will not occur moving forward.
Location
No ac very hot
The building is beautiful The room was clean and spacious
That there was no fridge That there was no air conditioning and that the 2 fans placed in the room were extremely noisy That the bathroom radiator was on too hot to touch with no obvious control to turn off the room temperature was 31.8
The lady at reception was really helpful in getting me into my room early (before check in) so I could iron a dress for a wedding. The room was really comfortable - especially the bed
It was very hot with only a small fan but the heatwave can't be helped
Excellent location and nice restaurant
Hot in summer
Beautiful property Exceptionally clean Great location on the high street Beautiful food Lovely staff
Nothing
Great location, room was clean. Friendly staff, great food. Overall it was an amazing stay!
Eccezionale! Riaperto da pochi giorni dopo una ristrutturazione, è davvero bellissimo, le foto attuali non rendono.
Be careful about handing over your credit card at check-in; they used mine without my consent by mistake and charged me £38.50 (claiming I had dined at the restaurant). Despite several attempts to contact them, I have received neither an explanation nor a response regarding what actually happened, nor do they seem interested in refunding the money. I have had to turn to Booking's customer service.
Recently refurbished so very smart
TV too complex - couldn’t get BBC
The Redesdale has just had an extensive refurbishment which is stunning, they have used lots of reclaimed wood and have nice features throughout the bars and restaurant, lovely furniture and lampshades etc., making it all look very cozy. It has large seating areas and various snugs with fireplaces. Outside seating is very large and the garden has been made to enclose the seating on a sunny terrace. The hot breakfast was fabulous and offered lots of choice, great value for money, beautifully cooked and presented. You can add extras for no extra charge! We didn't eat lunch or dinner here but other dinners food looked exceptional. Our bedroom and bathroom were large and the bed very comfortable, lots of nice white towels were provided. We had parking outside our room which was much appreciated. Very good location to walk the village and surrounding areas, close to lots of attractions in the Cotswolds.
No one on Reception to check us in, a waiting staff member fetched someone in the end, no apology or welcome, given key to our room and told us about breakfast times. We had to ask about parking as we had parked on a 2hr slot at the front of the hotel. The parking space was littered with debris and had a 3 inch spring dropped where a tyre could have driven over..... litter was also outside the door which didn't look good. The bedroom carpet was heavily stained and didn't look hoovered. No biscuits on the coffee tray, and nut flavoured coffees on offer. ( I have a severe nut allergy) The cold buffet was depleted and not topped up. We had to ask a waiting staff member for orange juice and bowls there were no side plates for toast so we used our saucers! Hot food was served and no dirty dishes were removed from the table making it rather tight for tables of 2. Guests don't want to sit looking at dirty dishes or tables that need clearing yet the waiting staff would walk away empty handed and past debris riddled tables and return to clear them once the guests had left? A guy behind the bar said they have only been open a week, maybe a bit more attention to detail and staff training would be beneficial.
Location brilliant in the centre of the village. Bus stop outside & 8 min walk to the train station. Decor is stunning as it has just had a revamp . It was luxury plus! Rooms very spacious & fan provided as no aircon. Wonderful selection for breakfast.
There wasn’t anything other than a little bit of noise from the beautiful outdoor garden area . It closed down each night at an early time.
Clean, tidy and staff wishing to assist.

Lovely new courtyard terrace and dining bar areas have been very well refurbished. Staff were very accommodating and friendly and helped sort out a twin room when they had not received that request from Booking.com
The shower was very small in our bathroom - would be good if they could make that bigger.
Excellent breakfast. Extremely comfortable but a little noisy over the bar though.
Spacious room and very clean
What a lovely breakfast! Not only buffet but also à la carte included..so tasty, a perfect start of the day!
nothing
Absolutely wonderful! The refurbishment beautifully blends traditional Cotswold character with a fresh, elegant feel. From the cosy interiors to the gorgeous outdoor spaces, there was something to admire around every corner. What we particularly loved was how family-friendly it felt. The girls were made so welcome and were given one of the brilliant Honeycomb activity bags, filled with colouring, games, puzzles and activities to keep little hands busy while the grown-ups could relax and enjoy the meal (and wine!) 🍷 🍽️🎨 The food was delicious, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the whole experience felt relaxed, thoughtful and genuinely enjoyable for all of us. Will definitely return!
Nothing.
Arriving at the hotel to find the hotel was under full renovations and we had no room. We had booked the hotel in January and was not aware that our booking was not available. Up until 2 days before we were receiving messages saying we are looking forward to your visit. We are still getting messages to review the hotel. Booking .com you owe us compensation. Please reply to our messages. Not happy Booking.com
The location and the size of the lovely comfy bed
Could’ve done with a few more coat hangers and maybe a couple of hooks in the room for coats
Nice food offering and bar, very comfortable room and good service.
Great staff, really good rooms
Nice central location and nicely maintained
We booked the Redesdale before Christmas by phone for a stay in mid May. In March we emailed to make dinner reservations but got no answer. On 8th April we received the following generic email: “I am writing to inform you that our property will be undergoing significant refurbishment works from 29 March 2026 for approximately three months. Due to the scale of the works and level of disruption to our guests, we have made the decision to temporarily close the Redesdale Arms during this period. Regrettably, this means that your booking on 15/05/2026 is affected. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding while we undertake these important improvements” They offered to help us book into another of their chain but there was no offer of discount due to the inconvenience and short notice. We had specifically wanted to stay somewhere with rail connection, and had planned accordingly. We stayed in May last year when it had just changed management and service was a bit patchy but we put it down to teething troubles. We’ve been many times, and much as we love the place, will be wary to book again.
Central Location
Great location right in the centre of town. You are within a 5-10 minute walk of the local bars, pubs, restaurants and train station. There is also a bus stop across the road if you don't want to drive to all the other villages during your stay. Room was really big for two adults, and a great sized bathroom as well. The wardrobe could of had some extra hangers but in fairness we didn't ask for these. Breakfast is fresh and fast, plenty of options and staff are attentive. Private car park in the grounds right next to the majority of the rooms as well. A nice homemade cookie was also provided in your room upon arrival. Room is very modern, has a nice cosy cottage feel to it.
Room was freezing, the bedroom window wasn't fitted in the frame properly so there was a constant draft and it would bang with any gust of wind. The two electric radiators provided gave very little heat. We had to use the two cushions in the room as a draft excluder at one point. When we opened the window to get some air in during the day there was a large build up of mould on the inside of the window frame (See picture). The cleaning staff aren't that attentive to what needs doing in the room. There was a large collection of spider webs by the main window which hadn't been cleaned before we arrived, there were more on the walls and ceilings. We asked the front desk for these to be cleaned but they never were (See pictures) They also didn't remove some dirty cutlery and glasses we had used in the room as well. When we went to use the coffee station in the room on arrival there was a large pool of water in the draws where the sugar and tea bags were kept. Everything was ruined, the front desk did replace them but again something else missed by the cleaning staff. We had to clean and dry this draw out ourselves nobody offered to help with this after raising the issue. The room was turned down on our final day but the bed wasn't made at all, duve just thrown over it with some poorly placed towels left on top. Heat from the shower was hit and miss, unless you had the water on the highest heat setting possible it was luke warm at best. At breakfast on our second day my wife was told she couldn't have a latte as they don't serve them at breakfast even though it was the menu, but at breakfast the next day they were serving them to a different couple. The room does need some TLC, walls in the bathroom had some stains, and there was also some damage to the wall near the bathroom mirror (See pictures). Staff weren't the friendliest when we left. Handed over our key, was told that was it. Not even a goodbye, thanks for staying etc.
Staff friendly and helpful. Evening Meal was good and small child and gluten free adult accomodated well. Good base for what we wanted to do. Nice large rooms, clean. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits welcome in room and a nice touch.
The hotel was due to close next day for refurbishment so not all food options available and you could tell stocks on other things low. Also bits n pieces being moved about, however this didn't affect our stay. Our rooms (2) were adequate and clean and had been modernised previously, however some tlc needed and snags do need to be looked at.
Nice accommodation in a great location for driving around the Cotswolds
Staff nice and original property features
Nothing
I had to remake the bed as duvet cover not put on properly and bed lumpy. Cushions on chairs left as people had sat on them. Skylight broken nail hanging out. Was not told on check-in that the key fob worked the lights got ready in bathroom. I took the top off shampoo bottle to get extra out and it was watered down. Bad nights sleep with zip on mattress NO mattress protector or topper on bed. Bathroom was spotless with lovely deluxe towels.
The hotel has bags of character as you would expect from an old building including sloping bedroom floors (interesting when drunk). The room was fairly spacious and clean, nice newish fitted shower room. Staff were friendly. Parking is fairly ample considering the age of the place. Restaurant provides nice food.
The water was barely warm so it meant a bit of a nippy shower in the morning. Breakfast is not included which is stated but I haven't stayed at many places personally where this is not included which is a bit of a downer. Coffee pod machine didn't work properly, I'm sure that's not the case in every room and as we were leaving that morning when we realised we didn't feel the need to ask to change it which they probably would have had we asked.
Excellent toast
There was nothing not to like. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were in a huge room which was in an annexe next to the carpark. We also had a separate lounge area to chill in which was a nice surprise. The walls were very thin so we could hear our neighbours conversations, which didn't bother us but may upset some people. There were tea/coffee making facilities with a small bottle of fresh milk which is quite unusual and 2 cookies which were really appreciated. Unfortunately we didn't get to try the food as we were meeting friends but the food smelt amazing. The location was in the town and it had it's own carpark which was a bonus. Also there were some electric chargers which were useful.
Although it didn't bother us, the walls in the sitting area were very thin.
The Redesdale Arms gave us a chance to stay in history. The building itself is so interesting, and the updates have been appropriately done. The staff is amazing. Kind and very helpful to those who are new to the Cotswolds and Moreton-in-Marsh. Would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely friendly hotel, good free parking.Friendly-from when we first checked in and all the staff were friendly and helpful.Great team work in this hotel. The breakfast choice was excellent and this was the best hot breakfast/presentation/beautiful cooked that we have had for a long time.Comfortable rooms-fresh cookies/tea/coffee and bottled water supplied.Evening meal was delicious too.Would definatly stay again.
Not much really.A very minor point and I feel being picky maybe the shower could be more powerful but that is being exteremly picky .The whole 2 nights were lovely, staff were so friendly .Thank you
Central Location and on site parking Modern bathroom with good shower. Thick white towels. Bottled water provided and cookies on arrival
Poor Standard of decor and not very clean. Mattress replacement needed but I understand that rooms are being refurbished.
The food was delicious!
Staircase up to the room.
Very homely, and a pleasant stay!
After traveling for 3 hrs to be told the hotel was booked up for food and not being able to get anything till the following morning!
Friendly staff, excellent food and great place to stay
We have been going to this hotel since 2014 for the Cheltenham festival and have made some good friends during this time sadly due to a huge hike in room rates they have stayed away,as we had tickets booked we continued with the booking even though the 2 rooms cost £600 more, On arrival we had the same type of room which are nice but we noticed over the stay that the housekeeping was not up to the usual standard from not changing towels to the bin in the room not emptied during our stay, the staff were still really helpful and pleasant and the food was good but the overwhelming memory of this trip was it did not warrant a £600 price hike and our 12 years of booking to go to Moreton is now over.
The room was comfortable, helpful staff and great location.
Due to no fault of the hotel, the wifi cut out for a couple of hours and there is no mobile reception. A little inconvenient when needing to work. Then there was a loud alarm in my room at about 10pm, which I mentioned to staff the next day - another glitch, but no apology for waking me and causing alarm!
Great location excellent value for money staff could not do enough to make your stay

Cleanliness, Location and Friendliness
Like all in the area it’s pricey
We have stayed before and the hotel is well located, clean and the staff are friendly. The double bed was a bit small but everything was very clean. The only issue was with breakfast. There was only one person on duty in a busy breakfast room. So service was slow and the juice jugs, including milk for cereal, were all empty and not replenished at all during the near one hour that we were present. No milk was provided with the hot drinks either.
Redesdale Rms beds are amazing but the dining room is a fiasco. We ordered starts and mains. The waiter forgot about the starter and delivered the mains. Whenever i ordered sticky toffee, after being told the dessert weren't homemade, the waiters delivered the wrong dessert--- "Twice"
breakfast - 10/10 absolutely fantastic room - as described, clean and tidy dinner - not included but delicious
Sí muy acogedor
La almohada, pero no es un problema del hotel sino mío
Friendly and helpful staff ,spacious room . Bar staff couldn't do enough for us
Shower cubical slightly on the small side
The location was ideal, very central
It’s extremely tired and in need of a lot of work. The pub itself was dirty and very rundown. Our room was large and the bed comfortable however the bathroom was extremely tired, the shower was full of mould and it was dirty.
Beautiful hotel in lovely location
Comfortable stay in a great location. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well. Reception was really friendly. Cookies on arrival were a lovely touch and breakfast was tasty. Loved this history of the building.
The communal areas and blinds in the room were tired. Could do with some updating. Needed a nicer, clean kettle in room. Breakfast was a bit understaffed which affected service but the staff were friendly and working hard.
Moreton-in-Marsh is a lovely town, so the location is perfect.
I’m not a huge fan of staying in pubs, but that aside, the first room I was given was very hot, smelled awful, and you couldn’t open the window. I was given a second room that was much better. But the place needs a makeover - there was paint peeling off the walls and ceiling in the corridor….
The room was nice, friendly staff and a nice breakfast, (we had eaten out with friends the previous evening). Also, there was easy parking a few yards from our room, which was great as it was pouring with rain.
Nothing that spring to mind.
Good friendly professional staff. Nice spacious room. Good food eaten in front of a roaring fire. Very central location with good accessible transport links.
If you are staying in the courtyard rooms, just be aware that to access some, you have to use a spiral staircase. The stairs are quite steep, and if it rains, the handrail becomes very slippery, so you need to be careful not to fall/miss your footing.
Breakfast was pleasant. Good location and use of parking. Room was indeed cosy it met our needs.
Needed to ask for some things to be replenished at breakfast and further crockery etc. Would have loved fire in pub to have kept going past 8pm.
Our breakfasts were very good, lovely the location,
It's a shame that the bathroom was so cold, due to both heated towel rails not working.
Staff were very friendly. Nice size room. Food lovely and lots of choice, well served and they did not rush you.
Although clean, room was a little tired and carpet needed replacing and walls painted.
Great location, excellent breakfast and provides parking.
Minor point was lack of sound proofing, shower/flushing toilet quite loud from room next door/above.
Central location. Very helpful, friendly staff. Easy check in. Good parking in car park. Very good breakfast. Nice bar area with welcoming log fire.
Shower underpowered & could do with a bit of TLC. Pillows a bit flat
We arrived 15.00 on check in day and carpet between the front door and rear entrance via the reception was dirty but as it was late in the day we gave them the benefit of the doubt it was from the days use. It was still there and more 3days later when we checked out. At breakfast each morning we had to ask for the fresh orange jug to be filled and had to request the refill 3times before it was done.
I paid for my daughter and her husband for a weekend break mr/mrs Seward we our selves has percents have stayed with you before they where more than pleased many thanks mr/mrs saunders
nothing
Good breakfast which was included. Didn't agree having to pay extra for black pudding.
As above.
Friendly helpful staff Excellent breakfast Dinner very good choices & well presented
Room too hot, towel rail burning hot , could not open window
Location was lovely, staff were so helpful to rearrange our stay an extra night
The room we had was tired and needs a general update. There was mould on the windows and bathroom ceiling.
Location The breakfast was great.
Being an older proper, the floor when we to the bathroom in the night. The pub noise wafted up to our room. Would choose another property next time.
We booked for 7pm on Saturday 21st Feb. Chose starters, they had run out of the one I ordered. Main course, both available. Desserts, they had run out of the one I chose. So out of 3 courses, I ended up with one. Very disappointing as this place had been highly recommended by a friend.. They took off the cost of one Prosecco (£7.95) to make up for 2 courses being unavailable (£17.90). I understand the gesture but it actually didn’t make up for not having the dishes available. I have been in hospitality for over 25 years and going somewhere that can’t manage to get all the dishes on the menu, to the pass is unacceptable. I would suggest that if the chefs can’t keep on top of their menu and ensure all choices are available, they need to reduce what they offer. Especially given that we had booked so early, on a Saturday night.
Food and service excellent. As a vegan I struggle for choice but the menus had so much choice. I went for the pie and was up there with one of the best vegan dishes ive had at a pub
We loved everything about this property. My husband and I stayed for one night and honestly kept wondering why it isn’t a 4-star hotel. From the staff to the on-site restaurant and bar, everything exceeded our expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and having convenient parking for residents was a great bonus. Breakfast was included in the price of our stay and it was fantastic — there was such a wide variety to choose from. If we return to Moreton-in-Marsh, we won’t even look elsewhere — this is 100% where we’ll stay again. The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station and the Co-op, which made everything very convenient. The 801 bus, which takes passengers to Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold (around 15–20 minutes to these beautiful villages), stops just outside the railway station — perfect for exploring the area without needing a car. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Richard, Paul, Josh and Harry, who really made our stay memorable.
There isn’t anything we didn’t like about this property.
Have stayed at the hotel many times before. Always very enjoyable, relaxed atmosphere and comfortable.
Nice to be in the courtyard area , Very nice
All of it.
Nice dinner in bar area as main Restaurant and Breakfast Room were not used on this occasion. Good breakfast with plenty of choice in a nice environment.
