Loved this place! Great value for money and welll situated. It's right by the mall so you can go gym at Virgin. Breakfasts were superb.

The property was very clean and quiet. Located as part of the big mall. It felt like being in the mall with restaurants around us.

The entrance to the property is a bit tricky. However, because is part of the mall we could park in the mall parking.

Parking is limited and the pool deck is nothing like the pictures. It doesn’t look inviting to use. Breakfast was also okay and their menu can do better

The Bed Headboard is oily and dirty /No Toilet pot brush in room/ And meat menu is limited *Ox Liver is not For Breakfast* Rather add chicken strips for visitors that don't consume pork eg Bacon

The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast spread was good. Our querys were responded to with good fast timings.

The parking area needs to be extended to accommodate for the hotel stays. We would feel safer to park in the hotel packing. We really don't want to have to park in gateway especially when staying over.

The breakfast was amazing. We loved everything about it. The entire stuff is very kind and welcoming. The hotel is beautiful and aestically pleasing.

I did not like the fact that the hotel did not have a microwave in the room. There were no plates or cutlery available for us, not even glasses for us to pour drinks in. The TV remote was not working. Please try and find a better working system for the people who want to iron their clothes, we waited a good 30 minutes for the iron and ironing board to be brought into our room. What if I had a meeting to attend, would I not be late?

The room was very clean, comfortable and cosy. The shower was very hot, perfect for winter. The location was very accessible with the mall a pleasant walk to the nearest entrance, restaurant or gym.

Unfortunately the bedroom was very close to yhe bar area, matric farewell party got a bit loud. The paddle court is great but not of your room is next to it and they start playing at 06h45.

A few staff members not friendly during breakfast however the staff at reception and the cleaners/helpers were fantastic 5 star rating for them.

Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Location is great and super convenient.

I would prefer for the hotel breakfast to be fully halaal, which can be easily accomplished with many Halaal food/meat suppliers in and around the KZN area, it also will not limit food options for those who do not follow a halaal diet thus everyone can enjoy. During peak times the parking area is often full and guests have to park inside the mall parking which is inconvenient and doesn't feel safe. The hotel needs to arrange more parking bays under security and in close proximity.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times and the location is always great, we were not able to eat breakfast but in the past the breakfast is very good and a variety of options available. The car park was full as usual so you will need to park at the Gateway mall, normally you are charged for the parking but this time, I wasn't so that was a bonus. Perhaps they were very very busy because of the comrades runners and their teams who were quite full at the hotel.

Our air conditioner was not working and the extractor in the shower as well, so with a room where the bathroom is very much part of the open plan, the steam was not great with the air conditioner and extractor not working. I did report this to the reception when I checked out but it didn't seem to be big problem as I was checking out and honestly I do not think the guy heard me at all.

I enjoyed the Hotel very much and enjoyed myslef.

We love to stay at Gateway hotel due to the convenience of the mall and all other amenities close by.

We didnt like that the standard slightly dropped. In our room the toilet buttons had to pressed in hard to flush and to be pressed again to stop it from continuously filling up. Also at the breakfast buffet can the meat tray be moved away from the cheese due to cross contamination for the vegetarians. We had also purchased food from an outside vendor and asked for it to be made hot for us but was refused by the kitchen. Maybe a mini microwave should've be fitted in the superior rooms. The aircon also gave off a smell and loud noise when the heating settings were being used. The lift was also not working properly the door kept on opening and closing. The slot where the key card is entered states out of order this made everyone and anyone accessible to the lifts and rooms, not good for safety. Other than that our stay was excellent. We are loyal guests who have stayed many times woth yourl and will continue to do so but improvement needs to be made

the staff were friendly

my door did not lock and they did not fix it despite repeated requests. They also called me at least 4 times whilst I was in meetings to pay for the extra 2 days when I extended my booking despite me telling them that I would do that later that morning. It felt it quite invasive as if i was going to run away with the room.
