Sheraton Grand Beijing Dongcheng Hotel

Our stay at the Sheraton Grand Beijing was absolutely fantastic. From check-in to check-out, the entire team was exceptionally professional and accommodating. As non-Chinese speakers, we truly appreciated the AI translator tool they used—it made communication seamless and stress-free. A special shout-out to Eloise and Demi at the front desk, who went above and beyond to accommodate our room change request with ease. The executive lounge team Emma, Coco, Betty and Macle also made my family and me feel warmly welcomed every time we visited. The food quality—whether breakfast or the evening snacks at the executive level—was impressive, both in presentation and taste. Thank you to Marriott Bonvoy for yet another wonderful experience. Your loyalty programme never disappoints!

Highlights - excellent food and service in the club lounge with delicious local cuisine and wonderful views of the neighbourhood - the executive twin bed room was amazing with sufficient space and clean modern furniture. The bathroom was amazing with separated areas and round bath tub. Absolutely quiet during the night - nest connection with subway, the entrance can be reached from lobby elevator directly - great concierge service for online shopping delivery services prior to check in Improvement potential - the breakfast service was a bit messy, the replenishment is slow and several service members were looking at the mobile phones all the time - front desk was not that passionate and hospitable to the guests

We brought a group of 22 expats to the hotel a few days ago. Due to flight delay we weren't able to get to the hotel till 3 AM in the morning. We just want to say a huge thank you to the front desk team: Rick, 高美琪，韩晶， Amanda Li, Nadiya, Demi as well as the sales manager Iris, Rona. They really deserve a bonus/an award for staying up till 3 AM in the morning and help us make the check in process so seemless and professional. The entire group was able to got to our rooms within a few minutes, and it made our long day less miserable. Food was great, bed's comfy, overall 10/10!

If you’re non-Chinese, I warn you to stay clear from here at all costs. This was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. To start off, I suffered severe food poisoning after ordering room service from their restaurant. So bad, I ended up in hospital and was left with a hefty bill. After notifying the hotel, they said they’d look into covering the hospital bill and cover the room service. Three days pass and it’s ready to check out, I end up being charged the room service bill, which they said they’d originally cover, and no update on the hospital repayment. My flight was the same afternoon, so I had no choice but to leave, with them assuring I’d get an email the following morning with an update. Lo and behold, four days later, nothing. On top of that, I originally had to put down a large deposit on top of the agreed price for the reservation, and I’ve yet to get the deposit money back, even after contacting them multiple times. I essentially paid 1.5x the original price. And the icing on the cake, I was told I was in a non-smoking area, but the moment the air con was turned off, the smell of cigarettes filled the room, which was disgusting. The only way to get rid of it was to have the air con on 24/7, which was obnoxiously loud. Aside from one Spanish man, whom I assume is their English translator, the staff were next to useless and couldn’t care less. If this complaint gets a response from the hotel, it only proves how two-faced this company is, only caring about their public image and not wanting to help when they should. I pray no one experiences what I have been through and avoids this establishment if they want to protect their money and health.

Modern, clean, great location

The hotel is in a great location and great facilities, we stay here many times, staffs are very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and looking forward to coming back.

Great hotel. I really enjoyed the breakfast. I would also like to mention the service provided by Nadya she really helped me and recommended a few places to visit. The recommendation for the Summer Palace was especially good, very beautiful place. Next time, I will come back with my family!

Staff were very helpful and polite!

The hotel is pretty old but still luxurious. The room is spacious and clean, huge open bathroom with separate standing shower, toilet and bathtub. Water pressure is good though it takes a while for the hot water to come on. Full amenities provided. Bed is a little soft for my liking but a good size for their twin beds.  There's a multi-building mall nearby within 3 mins walking distance, with a few eateries, restaurants, Watsons and 盒马 supermarket. There's also a metro station just outside the hotel on Line 12.  Breakfast spread was excellent, truly a full buffet, ranging from the usual American fav to continental standard fare to local tastes and live stations. The indoor pool is a good size, full lap length and temperature controlled. Seems like a local hotel practice to require swim caps but here at least they have some to lend, unlike the other hotel where we had to buy from them. The locker room also has a sauna, steam room and a hot jacuzzi tub. Clean and comfortable facilities.

Big thanks to the front desk team for being so patient and helpful throughout our stay. The room was super clean, and the buffet had so many options — the kids loved it! My stay was nothing short of exceptional. The room was impressively spacious and impeccably clean. Mornings were a delight thanks to the extensive breakfast buffet, featuring a wide array of culinary options from flavorful local dishes to classic American favorites. Special mention must be made of Yummy Restaurant where the food and service provided were exceptional. The hotel’s location close to the major landmarks are a major bonus. Highly recommended for both leisure and business travelers!

I only take time to share the best and the worst. Over the past two years, I have stayed in this hotel many times. By now it has really earned my review as the best hotel in Beijing for business travelers, with sustainable high quality of service in every categories in terms of management and staff, comfort, housekeeping etc. By contrast, the overall quality has declined in many of the Marriott hotels since Covid unfortunately. In particular, the executive lounge is the only one that is reminiscent of the classical Sheraton traditions, where the staff are still standing up to greet guests, and where the food selections are still superb since Covid, comparable to that of Sheraton Tower Singapore. Last but not least, the nearly opened Subway Line 12 is just steps away, making it the prime location to get anywhere in town conveniently. All things considered in terms of location, service and value, this Sheraton is arguably the best Marriott hotel in Beijing. You simply can't go wrong with it.

A good place to stay

Beautiful hotel. The room was spacious and bath room big. With shower and the bathtub . breakfast was great. All kinds of Western and Chinese food. 👍👍. Liked the location. Staff were very polite and helpful full. I would recommend this hotel. 🙏🙏

The sauna steam area and mens room and pool wasn't as clean as would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Facilities and the staff were excellent but the dining was not barely satisfactory. We had lunch one day at the order Cantonese restaurant. The salad had virtually no dressing so we had to ask for more. We ordered beef with Flan noodles and it was not hot and there was very little beef. We went to the “seafood” buffet one night and the bill of fare was not at all at the level we have had in the past at Beijing hotels. The breakfast buffet was acceptable but again not what we had expected based on other hotels in China.

I was satisfied with my stay in this hotel. Staff were polite and friendly. My room was spacious. Most importantly, the pool was long enough, even though at times, it was a bit crowded. My only comment was the unavailability of a business center for guest use. (Its center was restricted for privileged guests.) I did inquire the availability of such facility prior to my booking and was told that it existed, but no mentioning of privileged guests was given. I would have brought my own laptop (prefer not to do that during my vacation) or booked some other hotel. At the end, I was given the privilege to only visit the center and use its computer ONCE... this was somewhat disappointing. I started my trip in Vancouver and now continuing with my trip in Hong Kong. The hotels in both cities provided desktop computers, printers, etc. for general use. (Otherwise, why would I be able to type in this comment now!) There will not be much overhead to set up a business center for general use and it will bring much convenience to guests.

Nice location, not too far from airport. The hotel is also directly on the subway line. Grand entrance, lots of staff. The upgraded room I got was over the top !! The business lounge was perfect, and the included breakfast had about 100 items !! Grwat services, great staff..super happy !!

Special recognition goes to Emma, the lounge manager, who is incredibly attentive and ensures that every stay is enjoyable and stress-free. Her dedication to guest satisfaction truly stands out. 3. Unmatched Comfort: The beds here are so comfortable that they make recovering from jetlag a breeze. After a long journey, there’s nothing better than a restful sleep in such a cozy bed. Overall, the Sheraton Grand Beijing Dongcheng Hotel provides an outstanding experience, and I look forward to returning every time I visit Beijing. Highly recommended!

Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Not to mention the variety of breakfast was huge. One day I was late for breakfast and they are already serving lunch, I asked for a togo coffee and they gave it to me free. The area it located has multiple other big hotels too and it makes me feel safe even i was out till mid night.

A good solid business hotel with the following positives: - friendly English speaking checkin - large and clean rooms - good concierge Areas for improvement - limited international TV channels - more multi lingual staff needed in bars and restaurants - lobby isn’t particularly inviting to spend time in Overall would stay again.

However, for a hotel at this level, you would expect employees to have much better command of English. Also, note the indoor swimming pool is much less exciting than seen on the internet, dining options were unsatisfactory and the place is pretty far from the CNCC if you're attending a conference. Not sure all of the above justifies the high rates.

I really much enjoyed the place. Nice and clean lobby, nice and clean room, extremely professional Spa open till midnight. Breakfast was not as great as it could have possibly been but everything considered I can suggest and positively review this hotel even if is far away from the comfort You can get at the Waldorf Astoria in Beijing.

Stayed here for short business trip. Large but old hotel in a office area, not much around. Check in was ok and they kindly upgraded me due to my membership status Suite equally large and old. Floors creaking, and fittings worn. Especially obvious in the gym and sauna where there’s high traffic. There’s an indoor pool , and hairdressing/manicure service Breakfast ok and wrote a seperate review 7/10

Nice clean hotel! Area around hotel was convenient. Next to a mini shopping mall, with a market and many restaurants.The beds were comfortable, the staff were nice. But, the a.c. in our room was a bit noisy.The subway station was a bit of a walk, about 15 minutes. Overall I enjoyed my stay.
