Provider-sourced guest reviews.
The building was very beautiful and I loved the view of the skyline from the terrace, as well as the view from my room window, which was of the local horses. Room had everything I needed and was very comfortable. Would absolutely stay again.
5 minutes drive into Gloucester town. Near to local attractions. Nice breakfast ant top quality food in the restaurant.
Nothing
Staff very attentive and friendly
Common areas a little tired and grubby. Handrails on stairs sticky.
Really cute hotel away from the main roads. So peaceful. Check in and check out was super quick.
This is the third time we have stayed in this hotel. We have nothing but the utmost praise for every aspect of this establishment, hence the reason for returning.. On this occasion we enjoyed a two night stay on a bed and breakfast basis .Our room was on the first floor[we had requested this when booking} The room was spacious with an extremely comfortable king size bed, complimented by a beautiful bathroom ,all linen was crisp, white and soft. Breakfast was taken in the restaurant .A plentiful selection of cereals ,fruit juices , fruits, A full cooked breakfast to follow plus toast, preserves, pastries, tea and freshly brewed coffee. Brilliant friendly staff - everyone so helpful - a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting.WE WILL BE BACK. Thankyou for a lovely brrsk
Location,food.
First room was unacceptable, dirty bathroom. Decor and carpets tired. Could do with more staff especially reception. My final bill showed an overcharge which held up my departure.
Very nice character hotel in good setting. Well furnished.
It was beautiful and scenic, lovely location, lovely rooms and interior. Staff was incredibly friendly
A fine place with comfy beds.....the staff were absolutely fantastic and a credit to the hotel, food was very nice and well presented, great parking and lovely views from the terrace. 11am checkout is great and although we stayed in the small double which is the budget end of things the rooms were lovely with a great bathroom. These days to get a one night stay is fantastic.
Small doubles are up 3 flights of stairs but hey, its an old building!, and the full English breakfast could have done with more than 1x sausage and 1x bacon for £17 but considering the room price its fair enough.
Nice place to stay overnight whilst travelling on M5. Lovely old building, nice clean well decorated up to date room. Evening meal was very good and the staff were all lovely.
Great little hotel. Very clean and tidy.Staff were so helpful and their attitude was genuine concern for their customers.Would definately stay here again
Beautiful scenery bundling with character Was very clean
The kettle was rusty from inside could do with a good clean or replacement, otherwise everything else was very good standard bathroom was very clean.and lovely
The room was specious and clean with everything one needs. The restaurant was good although the menu was a bit limited. The staff were absolutely great - helpful, attentive and cheerful. We'd go again.
Lovely quiet hotel with good sized rooms. The staff were very friendly. Convenient location for Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds. Reasonable value - booked through Trivago but it may be worth checking booking direct as the hotel offers a breakfast deal.
Everything, we was with you for a funeral of our best friend, the hotel made it a better experience. Would love to come back under better circumstances
Nothing
The views and food were very good.
The mattrass on the bed was not very comfortable.
Hatton Court is a little gem which overlooks the rolling hills of the cotswolds. I was visiting from America and was craving a traditional English roast dinner and had heard rave reviews about chef Richard who did not underdeliver. I treated my mother daughter and friend to the most fabulous Sunday lunch I have ever tasted which was presented beautifully. There’s an extensive wine list that you can take your time to enjoy and have fun choosing from the fine selection of wines. The staff were courteous, responsive, and friendly. Overall outstanding experience thoroughly enjoyed in the most beautiful very english surroundings.
A beautifully situated hotel, when you arrive its feels grand and elegant. Which it is and at the same time feels friendly and cozy. Incredible views, attentive and friendly staff, the room was comfortable and newly refurbished. We stayed for dinner, and food was excellent. We will definitely visit again!
This is nit picking, thr decking is a little tired and could do with renovation.
Yet another lovely stay at The Hatton Court. Comfy spacious room with far reaching views over the Vale of Gloucester. All amenities were laid out well in the room, making life easy. Staff always attentive and pleasant with a good choice of food on the menu. Great outside seating terrace and comfortable bar area. Would definitely stay there again
Staff extremely friendly !
No aircon in the room
The location was 1st class, the staff went above the normal to insure are visit was memorable. 1st class breakfast and the dinner was also 1st class
No lift
Cons .I booked twin bedded room with my granddaughter. When I arrived it was a queen bed , which could have been made into twin beds . It is unacceptable to book twin bedded room , and not get twin beds and I would not have booked if I realised they were not going to fulfill my booking. The room needs more than a refresh as there is not a standard 3pin plug near the bedside table. Who nowadays doesn't expect to charge their phone on the bedside table. There was no shower curtain so the floor in the bathroom got completely flooded. 40 years ago it would have been beautiful , but sadly the brass had rusted to the interesting shade of green on all the fittings in the bathroom. Pros Deer could be seen while we were eating breakfast and the view was beautiful. The young man on the desk in the evenings was helpful ( but of course he couldn't change the set up of my room)
Tutto molto bene
The views were spectacular, the rooms were very well appointed, lovely outdoor seating area
On Sunday morning there was a lot of noise from the race track which I guess is near by.
We had course to visit Hatton Court in the lovely Gloucestershire countryside for a belated birthday break away What a great hotel ! Lovely friendly staff who really couldn’t do enough for us Food was excellent with variety well cooked and presented with a smile from the courteous table staff The rooms were spacious clean and well appointed A special mention to Valarika who looked after us when we had our special celebration dinner However the evening was slightly soured by two female guests who objected to a little exuberance when we gave a rendition of’ happy Birthday ‘ to our friend personally I thought it said more about them than us but you come do come across rudeness occasionally wherever you go . To conclude I would highly recommend Hatton Court it’s a gem hidden away in lovely countryside with conscientious attentive staff it is does deserve its five star rating Well done to all Will definitely be back
Didn’t have breakfast when we booked you said continental breakfast was included but it wasn’t
We booked a delux room with children views but there was a tree/bush right outside our window the room was so dark
There is lots about this hotel we loved . First the positives. Staff were very friendly and welcoming . Our Afternoon cream tea in the Tara resteraunt was lovely , homemade scones rather than bought in was a rare find ! The views were beautiful . We later had dinner which was beautifully cooked . Dishes are created and cooked on premises rather than bought in and reheated ...a rarity these days Now the bad points . Our room wasnt great , there were stains on the carpet and the furniture had started to delaminate , looks tired and a refurb well overdue ! There was paint flaking off the walls and the curtains could do with an Iron . The bathroom was terrible . The taps were originally gold effect, probably late 1990s but now tarnished and looking very grubby. The jacuzzi bath looked tired with missing bits to the water jets , the seals around the bath grotty and dirty , the floor tiles were loose and the grout missing in places. Such a shame . I came to this hotel around 2001 and the bathrooms were the same , so these are at least 25 years old now . Refurbished bathrooms and bedrooms would make so much difference , at present I'd say Permier inn or travelodge are better . Breakfast in bed is a nice touch , but where are the robes ? A bit of money spent and attention to detail would bring this hotel back up to standard and restore it's former glory as one of the best hotels locally .
We booked a few nights in expectation of attending a series of concerts in Gloucester, so for location as much as anything else. The concert programme tended not to be to our liking, but we were certainly very happy with the hotel. We had booked the ‘feature suite’ which occupies a lovely corner giving views across the countryside and has been recently refurbished, with a great feature bath as well as the usual facilities you might expect. Being an older building, there is no air con in the room, but the corner aspect meant a pleasant breeze blowing through the open windows even in the hot weather. Whilst close to the M5, we didn’t find the noise intrusive even with all windows open (was great also watching the dear and rabbits run round the garden. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and the menu varied enough for a couple of evening (we went to a pub across the road for another). The breakfast range was a little disappointing and could have been enhanced, especially on fresh fruit selection etc. but more than compensated by a very nice early morning manager who spotted me out on the decking very early mornings and brought out a pot of coffee 😇
We went for an anniversary weekend and had a lovely experience. Great welcome, lovely staff, comfortable bed and beautiful views. Good value too.
We had a wonderful stay at Hatton Court. We were warmly welcomed by Michelle on reception, who was friendly, cheerful, and courteous, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. In fact, every member of staff we encountered was professional, welcoming, polite, and genuinely pleasant. The Tara restaurant served a good menu choice and the food was delicious and fresh. Breakfast was also very good with ample on offer. Our room was spacious, peaceful, with a comfortable bed. The only minor issue was the noise from the minibar overnight. There were also a few small signs of wear and tear that could easily be addressed with a little filler and a fresh coat of paint. However, these were only minor observations and did not detract from our overall enjoyment. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return to Hatton Court in the future.
Character, size of room and comfort of room
Shower was rigid, no hand rails and no curtain or shield, creating lack of control, water everywhere and safety issues. Chair for table/desk would not slip under surface, stuck out and was a hazard esoeat night. Breakfast charged seperately at an absorbant rate.
Beautiful location and a lovely room within a characterful hotel. Exceptional food (both breakfast and evening meals). Genuinely welcoming, helpful and friendly hotel team who were clearly happy and proud to be working there.
Nothing of any note.
The country setting and old school values
The creaking stairs…
It looked very grand and had everything you could need. Lots of space. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the breakfast.
Nothing really
Went to Hatton Court Hotel for a one-night break for our wedding anniversary. The location is beautiful and the hotel is a very characterful property with lots of lovely charm and pleasant outside areas to enjoy the good weather. The public areas and our room were exceptionally clean. The room was excellent, with everything you could need - iron/ironing board/hairdryer/vanity mirror/full length mirror/nice soft towels/ stocked mini bar at very good prices. The room was very peaceful and the only niggles we had were that the blinds do not keep out the light so being summer the room was very light from about 4am. There is little you can do about this in older properties so I would just say bring a sleep mask if you like a dark room for sleeping. On one of the mugs there was also a very fresh, bright red lipstick mark, so I had to re-wash the mug. Again, just a small thing and didn't take away from a very lovely stay. The restaurant service and food were excellent both at dinner and breakfast. Breakfast is to order which might not be to everyone's taste if you like the usual buffet, but honestly, the menu was so varied and it was a real treat to be served by the lovely staff. We would definitely return to Hatton Court and would highly recommend if you are looking for a quality, relaxing break near to Gloucester Town and Stroud, which are also worth a visit.
This is a lovely place the staff are very helpful and friendly. And the view over the hills brilliant. The room we had in the Eastwing was roomy, airy and had a very comfortable bed. We did not like the doorless bathroom! But the posh loo with heated seat and auto flush was great. We will definately stay here again but perhaps seek a more conventional bathroom.
The location was good
Only the fan was annoying
The hotel was lovely. The facilities were excellent and catered well for us with our two dogs. The staff could were very friendly and helpful and the overall atmosphere was one of relaxation. The terrace and gardens were delightful places to have our lunch and afternoon drinks, all kindly brought to us by very cheerful staff.
Stayed 11 days for the 3 Choirs Festival in Gloucester. A superb hotel - elegant, restful, and with character. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The food is, quite simply, glorious! With great views of the Gloucestershire countryside and plenty of car park space, this is the ideal hotel. Can’t wait to return!
Location is beautiful. I think we were put in the worst room. Receptionist gave us the key and said - go up the back area and follow the room numbers. She was not friendly at all.We were put on the 4th floor with no lift. Dragging our cases up all those stairs was a bit of a pain . No aircon , room was stifling hot all night. No lights in the hallway, dark and dingy with a slight sewer smell. We were the first in the restaurant and was waiting quite a while for our glass of wine. The waitress forgot to put our order through so our food took forever , even though no one else was in the restaurant at this stage. My ‘greens’ came out cold and I nearly choked on a fish bone that was in my fish pie!!! Breakfast - ordered a full breakfast with scrambled eggs, they forgot the eggs. I couldn’t turn the water off in the shower , lucky I had help or I would have had to leave the shower running. No drinking water in the room either. Unable to post photos I have the place 1 star for the location
We were attending a private function at the nearby Nailsworth Golf Club which made the Hatton Court very convenient for an overnight stay. Hatton Court is a good location for visiting both Gloucester and Cheltenham Tetbury and other attractive villages or just taking advantage of touring or walking in the southern Cotswolds on short stays ( 2/3 nights). Good for couples. We arrived early afternoon and enjoyed drinks out on one of the two terraces with views extending out over Gloucester and beyond. Rooms are comfortable and give a good nights sleep being in such a quiet location and have all the amenities of Tea/Coffee making - Mini Bar - Hair Drier and Iron/Ironing Board. Rooms are of a clean well presented standard but just a little tired on the decorating. However the Hotel overall suited our purpose and would most probably choose the Hatton again should we visit this area as for the rate paid it did represent good value. Breakfast offered a Continental Buffet self serve and a choice of comprehensive menu choice of Cooked options and have to say ( We like our breakfasts) the cooked were to perfection , served on hot plates and well presented. Tea Coffee and Juices are self serve. Staff were helpful and friendly through out our stay at the hotel.
Long hot day in Leicester and booked late in the day to break up a trip back to the far South West. Very reasonable for a genuine 4* hotel. Room had lovely view , comfortable bed and good shower over the bath and adequate TV. No USB socket but reception had an adapter. Bit of M5 hum if window open. Nice restaurant and excellent dinner with service to match and the same can be said for breakfast Will hopefully get the chance to stay again sometime in the future
Beautiful, clean, nice restaurant
The room definitely needed an AC or a fan
The Price was excellent and the room was quiet.
The stairs to the room.
Really great location. The beds are so comfortable.
We would have liked a coffee machine, something like a Nespresso in the room.
stayed here last october for a few day. hotel is in a lovely location. excellent room the food was also excellent both evening and breakfast. would recommend a return at some point in the future. staff also friendly and polite.
Staff make an impression! They are well trained in the industry. Food is great and plentiful. Breakfast menu extensive! Rooms are lovely, beds are comfy. Hotel itself is charming and has a lovely ambience. Would definitely recommend and probably we will return!
Staff were excellent and very friendly. The hotel is very clean and the food was fantastic. Great views from the outdoor seating area to relax with a drink and some food.
Minor negative. Due to the very hot weather it was difficult to sleep. It's a lovely period property so no aircon. There was a fan in the room but it had seen better days and only had one speed which was loud and fast.
I needed to break a very long journey from Yorkshire to Devon and found Hatton Court Hotel. High in the hills but only minutes from the M5 it suited me perfectly. Very comfortable room with everything I needed, and restaurant, well-priced for the quality, and very professional but friendly service. Hotel and setting beautiful with long-distance views and a lovely garden and outside sitting area. Breakfast very special with lots of unusual options along with the usuals. So good I made a point of booking and staying again on my return journey a few days later.
We have just returned from a stay at Hatton Court Hotel with family and it was simply wonderful. The hotel was really nice and in a great position. The views were superb. The staff were amazing from checking in to checking out. The lady on reception was so lovely helpful and efficient. The bar staff were great and the 2 guys that served our delicious meal in the garden were very good too credit to the chef as everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. . the breakfast staff were lovely and attentive. Our room was immaculate and bed very comfortable. Overall an excellent stay so a big thank you to all.
Very Disappointed with our experience. Small Room, No lifts, no air con, NOT worthy of it's 4 star status!! Old fashioned furnishings in the main building, car park too small, uneven road surface, badly stained carpets on second floor. We wanted it a bit of luxury on our return from a holiday in the south to break the journey and relax, it was the complete opposite. So, NO, I will not recommend or think of returning, Oh, and short staff too!!! Very expensive night!! Doors very heavy and making a loud noise when closing.
Location, ambiance, breakfast
Skippy shower tray, found out after shower you can ask for shower mat.
Booked last minute to break a long journey and it exceeded expectations. Minutes away from the M5 but high in the hills, beautiful views, building, gardens, loved listening to and watching the wildlife. Lovely restaurant. All in all a lovely and comfortable stay.
Nothing.
Lovely hotel with friendly staff, great food and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We stayed in a spacious newly refurbished room which everything you needed and the bed was super comfy.
Excellent hotel with exceptional staff who are both friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are great , we have stayed in both a refurbished one and one in the original building with a four poster bed and a balcony . Happy with both . Lovely food . We will be back again .
We have just returned home from a magical weekend stay at the Hatton Court Hotel. We were married at the hotel 30 years ago on Sunday, so decided to return there for a weekend stay and Sunday lunch with our family. Everything about the hotel was wonderful - the hotel itself, our room, the food and the views were all outstanding. The one thing however that stood out for us were the exceptional staff. We have travelled for work all over the world and stayed in beautiful hotels but I can honestly say that we have never had the pleasure of meeting such wonderful people. The genuine warmth of the welcome we felt from the moment we arrived, through all our meals, in the bar and checkout was simply exceptional. The fabulous staff make what is already a wonderful Country House Hotel simply outstanding! My parents were so wowed by our lunch they have already planned a return visit for a special occasion - claiming the Sunday lunch was the best food they have ever eaten! We’ll all be back very soon. Thank you so much to the Hatton Court for a beautiful experience.
Charme und Lage
Nix
Beautiful location and terrace, nice room.
Nothing.
Wonderful gardens . Excellent staff . large period rooms
Number of stairs to bedroom. lack of air conditioning . Poor vegan food options
Great location and very friendly staff. Views were amazing and excellent dinner in Tara restaurant.
Nothing.
Staff where extremally helpful
Tea and coffee facilities
We liked everything about this hotel. Just perfect.
Liked everything, wonderful hotel. We shall be returning.
It’s looking tired and needs up-dating
Just returned from Afternoon tea at this beautiful Hotel on a lovely day. The Afternoon tea was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed by all of our Craft friends. The Waiters were really nice, helpful and funny, they made our day. Thank you so much, we all really enjoyed our Afternoon. Xx
Only a one night stay but we were very happy with our room, breakfast and evening meal. Staff were all super pleasant and the food was excellent. Room was large with a four poster and Jacuzzi bath! View from the balcony is great although there are no grounds as such to walk around. A trip to the nearby village of Painswick is a must, it’s beautiful.
The cleanliness of room 3 was disgraceful. What appears to be bodily fluid Stains all over the cushioned storage at the bottom of the bed. There were multiple smashed tiles in the bathroom alongside a broken bath pannel. Not the standard expected of a 4 star hotel
Room dreadful and fundamentally lacking! So bad!
This is a lovely hotel with amazing views from the terrace. We stayed in one of the newer rooms to the right of the main hotel. The room was fully equipped with everything you need for a short stay including an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, a minibar , kettle and a range of teas and coffee. There was a smart tv in the room and a small table with two seats. The bed was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The shower in the bathroom was great, although I would definitely ask for a shower mat as it gets very slippy. I also think a small shelf for soap and shower gel would be a useful addition. Loved the Japanese style electric toilet. The only thing missing for us was a view from the room. As it was on the ground level we only had a limited view of the valley which was blocked by a small wall, so aim to get a room on a higher floor if you want to appreciate the scenery. All in all a fantastic stay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Choice of food at breakfast was great and the dinners in the restaurant were lovely.
Location and views
Very warm welcome at reception. Lovely spacious spotlessly clean room. Excellent buffet breakfast and full English cooked to order. Our second visit and look forward to our next one.
Its a beutiful venue to unwind as it has a great view of the valley. Rooms are reasonable size and clean. Staff in the dining room were excellent and Food was very good. Enjoyed our stay
As always, a wonderful stay. The food and welcome were first class. A beautiful location and very lovely and relaxed atmosphere.
What a fabulous find! We stayed here for a relaxing two night break and could not have been happier. This intimate country house hotel was in a very picturesque location and the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. The “open plan” bathroom and sensor toilet were slightly unusual, and provided a few laughs! The food at both dinner & breakfast was delicious. We used the hotel as a base for exploring the local countryside on foot , and for visiting Painswick and Gloucester. We would have no hesitation in recommending it or returning in the future.
Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere in a semi-rural location. Good weather helped to show it at its best with a decking terrace adjoining the bar although the events marquee hides the views. My room in the main house had a shower and usb ports for charging my phone. Breakfast service was outstanding.
The hotel was well-situated with fabulous views in quiet countryside. The staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very relaxed. Our room was comfortable with good quality bedding, tea and coffee making facilities, and a spacious bathroom. We arrived quite late, but there was no problem in booking for dinner. The food and the service were both excellent. Likewise, breakfast was well-cooked and plentiful, and again the service was excellent.
Our room was on the second floor of an annexe, up several flights of rather steep stairs. I'm sure a member of staff would have helped me had I asked, but I didn't and lugging my suitcase to my room was quite an effort. I'd be sure to ask for a room on the ground floor, or in the main building next time. Although our bathroom was well-appointed, the plumbing seemed out-dated. The hot tap of the wash basin made a clattering noise if I turned it on fully, and when I first turned it on, the water came out discoloured. It soon cleared, however, so wasn't a problem.
Comfy bed. Good outlook
En-suite needed an update
The staff at this hotel work extremely hard to make your stay a pleasant one. Always greeted with a friendly smile. The hotel is clean, quiet, comfortable and full of character. the food is excellent from freshly cooked breakfasts to very tasty evening meals.
We spent a night here on the way back from visiting relatives in the Midlands. Hatton Court is an independent boutique hotel covered in ivy just outside Gloucester sitting on an escarpment overlooking a lovely view of the Severn Vale. It is a 17th century style manor and is thought to have been constructed in the 1920's as a countryside retreat for the mistress of a wealthy local businessman. It was known as the Tara Hotel but since been expanded into a boutique country house hotel which is also good for meetings, events and conferences. We booked in at reception but was a little disappointed at the information we received by the young lady at the desk! Usually after the initial 'sign in' guidance is then given regarding the location for eating. The bathroom was only equipped with towels for one person so had to enquire why this was at reception. We were shown that additional towels were stored in a cupboard within the room. Knowing the number of guests to occupy the room, it would have been good to be equipped accordingly, or told upon arrival? Apart from this, our Executive Double room was very good. Spacious with a comfortable bed, bathrobes and slippers, mini bar, WIFI and flat screen TV as well as usual tea/coffee facility. Could benefit from a little updating! Food and service was very good. Good views from the garden. The hotel is pet-friendly with a charge of £15 per dog per night.
Convenient location for my journey and the breakfast was very good
The shower didn’t work, the mattress wasn’t comfortable and the beams in the ceiling were inconvenient. I banged my head several times.
Lovely location with beautiful views. Staff friendly and efficient. Room a little of the small side but clean and comfortable
This is our 4th visit to Hatton Court fabulous hotel wonderful staff and genuinely wonderful stay all round x
Absolutely amazing evening so special for my fathers birthday .. beautiful food from a fantastic menu selection personalised professional service from the chef Rich and the head waiter alongside a lovely wine list, classy atmosphere and incredible value for money we loved it Thankyou Hatton Court Team 🌟💫⭐️🌟
Stayed here for two nights break, quality of the food and service 5/5, bedroom 5/5 bathroom was ok but dated. We had a small problem but I have to say it was dealt with extremely well. We would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone. Lovely grounds too with fab views
What a fabulous little find for a stopover on our way to Devon. Our room was excellent, large and comfortable with a lovely large walk in shower. Staff were excellent and the food was delicious from our evening meal to our breakfast. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend overall.
Very nice hotel with exceptional staff, we had a really modern room ( not sure about the Japanese toilet! ) food was great and also a huge choice. Definitely recommended.
We stayed for one night on 29.05.26. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly lady on reception and immediately went for a cream tea which was tasty. Our room was very nice and decorated well and the bed was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and the food was incredible (I recommend the pulled lamb shoulder!). The breakfast the next morning was also very nice. We noticed how friendly ALL of the staff were and there was a relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Overall we had a really nice time and would definitely stay again.
recently refurbished room well equipped , super comfy bed could do with some labels on the isolators so we knew where to switch on the smart loo. fantastic views but obscured in some positions by the events marque on the lawn. There is some noise from the M5 but only when outside , we ate dinner which was good and breakfast was excellent
A bit better training for the receptionist is needed to improve the check in experience and when asked questions seemed a bit lost. staff were moving luggage for guests early next morning with a lot of chatter and banging of doors/ cases
This hotel fully lived up to expectations. Beautifully situated overlooking the Severn Valley, it was an oasis of peace. The refurbished rooms were comfortable; and the staff were delightful.
Such an amazing hotel, everything was perfect. The staff are so welcoming, we had dinner contribution & breakfast included in our deal & it was faultless, plenty of choice & nothing was too much trouble from the serving staff. We highly recommend & wouldn’t hesitate to visit again! Thank you everyone who works there, you made us feel really welcome & special
Lovely hotel, really friendly and welcoming staff. Made us and the dog feel at home. Nice bar and restaurant, good food, great view, comfy room. Slightly dated bathroom but didn’t spoil our stay.
Lovely old building Beautiful settings Unfortunately no lift and we were put on the top floor, room had slopping ceilings so couldn’t sit on chair properly without pulling it away from wall so very squashed, no sockets to charge our phones, so had to crawl behind tv to plug in, also shower in bath so unable to climb in big bath to shower, rooms were away from hotel up some steep stairs, in another building, staff were very friendly and helpful, we ate there too as too far away to walk to anyway else but food was excellent, drinks were very expensive though.
Rooms to far away and too many stairs, no sockets and too squashed in room with 2 chairs
Very enjoyable stay. Staff are friendly and very dog tolerant. There is an issue with hot water some afternoons and the beds are a bit hard but the competitive pricing more than makes up for it.
The breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice and all the items were presented very well.
The surface of the driveway to the hotel car park was very bad indeed. Lots of potholes all across the driveway.
The main building of the hotel looked stunning, and the outdoor setting was spectacular with gorgeous views from the top of the hillside down to the valley below. The reception, dining room and bar all looked recently updated to a good standard. Unfortunately, that's where it ended.
After a lovely greeting in reception, we were shown across to the adjacent building for our room. It was on the top floor up 3 flights of stairs with no lift. The hallway carpet was filthy with stains the whole length of the hall. The room was basic but clean enough. The bed seemed smaller than a normal double, and it felt like it was trying to throw you off the sides each time you turned over in the night. The bathroom was adequate at best. There was no shower curtain so it was interesting to say the least trying to step out of the bath after a shower without breaking a leg. There was no adjustment on the rather lower show head so you had to kneel in the bath in order to wash your hair.
Exceptionally good.
We visited the hotel as we had stayed here a few years ago. Still as lovely as it was then. Waking up in the morning with lovely views and grouse in the fields. A nice quiet area away from towns and busy roads. Very clean rooms and even had a fan to keep the room cool. The food was lovely and you could taste the quality in the ingredients.
The hotel was lovely. We enjoyed the bar and the breakfast. The room was spacious and beautiful. A great starting place for our 5 day hike on the Cotswolds Way!
Nothing
there was a problem with the shower which when reported was dealt with a lack of concern or apology just enough tea for one cup had to ask for more and that again seemed to be a problem
Celebrated a wonderful birthday with family and friends at Hatton Court Can’t thank Samantha, Zac and all the staff for making it such a joyous occasion. It was truly a memorable evening from start to finish. The food and service was first class and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all again and will definitely be seeing you soon.
What a lovely find. Fantastically located and with stunning views. The rooms were well decorated and ours had a Jacuzzi bath. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent. The staff, with the exception of one, were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. We’d definitely return.
